MARTIN, Jody Anne MARTIN, Jody Anne - 37, New Glasgow, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at home. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Dianne (Graham) Martin, Merigomish, and the late Alexander Christopher Martin. She was employed as the manager of the Thistle Bar & Grill, New Glasgow, having previously been employed at The Dock. Jody was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed spending time at the gym. She was a lifetime Bon Jovi fan and was affectionately nicknamed "Jody Bon Jovi". She was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Surviving, besides her mother, Dianne, are daughters, Candace Martin (Mitch), Stellarton; Chloe Martin, at home; sisters, Melinda Martin (Scott Doward), Halifax; Roxanne (Ralph) Heighton, Pictou; brother, Troy (Cherryl) Martin, Telford; maternal grandmother, Deserta (Smith) Graham, Baccaro; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. MYERS, Doris M. (nee Dalziel) At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, of Doris M. Myers (nee Dalziel), of Charlottetown, age 87 years. Dear mother of Sandra Thorne (Rev. Gary) and Bonnie Gauthier (Randy). Loving grandmother to Chelsea and Andrew Thorne, Crystal and Christopher Newbury. Sister-in-law of Carl Currie. Lovingly remembered by her special sister-in-law Mickey Edwards, and by her nephews, Tim and Rodd Currie. Predeceased by her husband, Arthur Myers, by her parents, John and Mabel Dalziel (nee Rodd), and by her sister, Norma Currie. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Interment later in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. ZAGO, Speranza (Hope) 2008-02-15 Born and raised in Fort William and educated locally at St. Peter‚s and St. Pat‚s Schools. She was married to Marco Zago in 1936. She is survived by: son Norman Zago (Edmonton), daughter Norma Lambert, loving grandchildren: Derek (Novah) Lambert (London), Claudia (Michael) Lenardon, precious great grandchildren: Nicholas, Jordyn, Spencer and Hope, sisters: Emma and Rose and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Marco and infant son Norman, parents Gildo and Augusta Roman, siblings Mary, Cora, Orest, Ernest and Ray. Hope was devoted to her family, home and faith. She had a wonderful sense of humour; always enjoyed company; loved a game of cards. The cycle of life is wonderous ˆ the family was truly blessed to have had a mother, grandmother and great grandmother all these quality years. Hope was a longtime member of St. Agnes‚ Church (where she served as sacristan for 18 ? years). Catholic Women‚s League; Promoter of the Miraculous Medal; Ladies Venet Society. Cremation has taken place and the Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2008 when family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass in St. Agnes‚ Church at 12:10 p.m. celebrated by Father James Panikulam. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to service. If friends desire, donations to the St. Vincent De Paul, Dew Drop Inn or George Jeffrey Children‚s Foundation would be appreciated. MESICH, Milan - 1922 – 2008 - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday, February 11, 2008 at the Extendicare Nursing Home in Schumacher at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his first wife Madeline (Holjevac) Mesic in 1961 and by his second wife Maria (Perkovic) Mesic in 1990. He is survived by his children Cathy Mesich of Orangeville, Milan Mesich (Patricia) of Paris, ON, and Stephen Mesich of Schumacher, his grandchildren Lisa Stauder (Steve), Jennifer Mesich, Andrew Skibinski (Lucie Latour), Stephanie and Milan Mesich, David, Jeremy and Zakary Mesich, his brothers Stipe Mesic of Croatia and Ivan Mesic of Australia and his sister Kate Sertic of Croatia. He was also predeceased by his brothers Luka and Miko Mesic. The family wishes to thank Dr. Raymond, Dr. Vaithilingam, the nurses and staff of the Extendicare Nursing Home for their compassion and excellent care given to our father. KYLE (VANTASSEL), EDWARD H. - (Feb. 13, 1943 - Feb. 9, 2008). Passed away suddenly at his home in Santa Barbara, California, on Saturday. Ed was born in Saint John, and was the son of the late Thomas A. and Pearl H. Kyle. Survived by his loving wife Patria, and their devoted children. Daughters, Tria Heredia (Isaac), Virginia Pearl Myers (Randy) and Krystal Joannie Vantassel and son Kyle Vantassel, five grandchildren, and mother-in-law Connie Fuentes, all of Santa Barbara. One sister, Lorna M. Zelward (Ronald) Baxters Corner, one brother, D. James Kyle (Marilyn) Saint John, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Robert A. Kyle, William E. HERRINGTON, BYARD H. - Passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 11th, 2008. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late George and Babe (Williams) Herrington and husband of Lorraine (Black) Herrington. Byard lived all of his life in Fairville and was an adherent of Lancaster Baptist Church. He was a Telegrapher with the C.P.R. and before his retirement, he was a electrician with Kimberly Clarke. He was a member of Carleton Union Lodge #8 F & AM. He enjoyed skating, swimming, pool, dancing and enjoyed people. Surviving in addition to his wife, Lorraine, are two daughters, Patti (David) Lively of Saint John, and Pamela (Paul) Burnside, of Grand Bay-Westfield; one sister, Nancy (Doug) Knorr, of Saint John; 2 sister-in-laws Rosalie Black and Claudia Mason, both of Saint John; three grand- children, Karyn (Peter) Fillmore, Michael (Jayne) Lively, and Avery Burnside; three great-grandchildren, Adam Fillmore, Leah and Grace; one nephew, Craig Knorr and several nieces. HANSEN, NOEL BOYD - The death of Noel Boyd Hansen, husband of the late Verna Etta (Everett), occurred on February 11, 2008 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Halvor H. and Bella (Pettipas) Hansen. He served with the Canadian Army during WW II, was a member of Local #1386, Carpenter's and Jointer's of America working as a carpenter throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and loved dogs. Surviving are his sons, Victor (Patricia) of Grand Lake, Darryl (Mary) of Wetmore Creek Road, Wayne (Rose Ann) of Saint John West, daughters, Carol Raynes (Floyd) of Saint John West, Helen Hansen (William Stout) of Stewarton, his 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by brothers, Alfred, Arnold, Harry, Norman, Leo, Clarence and Lawrence and sisters, Myrtle and Frances. COSTON, TAMMY ELAINE - It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Tammy Elaine Coston, loving wife of Steve Barry, of Grand Bay-Westfield, occurred peacefully on Monday, February 11th, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1971 in Saint John, she was the daughter of Eric Coston (Janet) of Kingston Peninsula and Diane Clark (Jim) of Four Falls, NB. Tammy loved the outdoors; she enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, hunting, fishing, and was an avid Geo Cacher. She worked for Seeley Lodge as a Senior Care Giver. She will be sadly missed by her "Three Boys: Vandy her horse, Benny her cat and Steve". Catherine Alberta (Kay) VanderFeer 1928 - 2008 The death of Catherine Alberta VanderFeer, wife of Peter, of Winchester Ave Moncton occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday February 10th, 2008. Born in Moncton on July 27th, 1928 Kay was the daughter of the late Lee and Delta (Mitton) Taylor. Kay had worked for many years as a Legal Stenographer and since her retirement she was very active volunteering her time with the Karing Kitchen, Spencer Memorial Home; she had spent over 17 years volunteering with The Moncton Hospital and was very proud to receive a watch and plaque marking 5000 hours of volunteer time at the hospital. Kay was a life long member of First United Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Zella Clarke Women's Missionary Group. Kay is survived by her husband of 55 years, Peter; their daughter, Debbie VanderFeer of Moncton; her grandson, Devon and his wife Kim (Matteson) Kearns of Edmonton; her sister-in-law, Peggy, of North Bay; two special nieces, Kathy McGinn and Chris Murray; her beloved dog MacDuff; as well as several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Kay's wishes cremation has taken place and visiting hours with the family will be on Wednesday February 13th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street Moncton. Jean Scott 1920 - 2008 Jean Scott, 87, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, February 10, 2008 following a brief illness. Born in Albert Mines, the daughter of the late Fred and Myrtle (Gamble) Milton. Jean was retired from the Central Trust Co. Ltd., member of Albert Mines Baptist Church and attended the First Baptist Church in Moncton. She was a life member of the Beta Sigma Phi, member of the Pythian Sisters and I.O.F. She was a graduate of Hillsborough High School, Success Business College and Mount Allison University. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, needlepoint, knitting, but most importantly time with her grandchildren. Jean will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law, Jocelyne Maurice; grandchildren, Emelie and Nathalie Scott; step-son, Hugh (Sonny) Scott (Marie), Moncton; step-daughter, Joyce Meade, Toronto; several step-grandchildren; brothers, Darrel Milton (Kay), Edgetts Landing, Dana Milton (Jean), Weldon; several nieces and nephews. Ruth Elaine Holt 1934 - 2008 Passed away suddenly at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton on Saturday, February 9, 2008. Carl D. Gillcash Campbellton, NB - Carl D. Gillcash, 52, formerly of Stilesville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Melvin and Audrey (Horsman) Gillcash. He graduated from Moncton High School, took the electronic technology program at the New Brunswick Institute of Technology, and worked in Northern Ontario and New Brunswick. JANES, KEVIN RONALD - The death of Kevin Ronald Janes, loving husband of Theresa (Gautreau) Janes, occurred peacefully at his home on Saturday February 9, 2008. Born 1951 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Ronald and Ida (Gray) Janes. Kevin worked as a Long Haul Truck Driver for many years. Besides his loving wife, Theresa; he is survived by sons, Jason Janes (Crystal) and Jeff Janes (Stacey) both of Saint John; daughters, Tammy Pierce (Robert) and Gail Duke both of Saint John; step sons, Brian Gautreau (Shelley) of Rothesay, Michael Loston (Tracey) and Marc Losier both of Calgary; step daughter, Denise Myles (late Ron Myles) of Rothesay; sister, Carol Shepard (Kenneth) of Saint John; 11 grandchildren; one niece, Carolyn Khitab (Achim) of Saint John; and two great nephews and one great niece. CROWE, PETER M. - The unexpected passing of Peter M. Crowe occurred at his home on Upper Quaco Road on Saturday February 9, 2008. Peter was the son of Sarah (Free) and the late James Crowe. He will be sadly missed by his son Richard and daughter-in-law Lois. He was predeceased by his daughter Susan in March 2007. SERRAO-LABELLE, Mya Emilia Rosa - Daughter of Cathy and Paul. On February 8th, 2008 our precious baby Mya came into the world for a short time to be with Mommy and Daddy. In that short time she touched the hearts of many and we found comfort in knowing that love was all our baby would ever know. Ethel was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Owen and Ella (Patterson) Campbell. She was predeceased by a brother, William Campbell; and four sisters, Bessie McKay, Gertrude Orr, Margaret Dunphy, and Clare McAuley. She is survived by four sons, Edward (Florence) of Renous, Daniel of Saint John, Robert of Saint John, John of Toronto, and William of Saint John; two sisters, Mary O'Blenis of Saint John, and Frances Mailman (John) of Willow Grove; five grandchildren, Beth Ryan, Loretta Nicholson, Bernard Ryan, Daniel Ryan, and Calvin Ryan; two great-granddaughters, Alexandra and Charlotte Nicholson; and several nieces and nephews. GAUNCE, DONALD HARRY - It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald Harry Gaunce of Saint John West, NB, husband of Pearl (Saunders) Gaunce, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by family he passed away at home on February 10, 2008, peacefully with great strength and dignity. Born in Bath, NB on May 28, 1952, he was a son of Harry and Audrey (Speakman) Gaunce. Donald moved to Saint John in 1956 where he spent the rest of his life, graduating from Saint John Vocational School in 1972. He was a leader with the Scout Troup at Lancaster Baptist Church, also an active member of the Saint John Y's Men since 1986 and up to the present; a member of the Ostomy Support Group and found great pleasure in helping others. He worked for thirty-five years with Irving Pulp and Paper until his retirement in 2007. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends at the family summer camp and hosting lobster parties every spring and fall in the "East Coast Diner". Donnie loved the out-of-doors and enjoyed many long walks through the west-side, accompanying his beloved dog, Oreo. Throughout his battle with cancer Donnie displayed great strength and undying spirit. He was a great inspiration to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all. Besides his parents and wife he is survived by a son, Kevin (Katrina Gray) of Calgary, AB; and a daughter, Katrina Gaunce of Ajax, ON; three brothers, David (Brenda), Carl (Suzanne), both of Saint John, and Greg of Toronto; one sister, Sandra Gaunce (Keith Estabrooks) of Hampton, NB; one nephew, Ethan and several other nieces and nephews. REDSHAW, Dianne Melba - Of Wainfleet, peacefully passed away at the Port Colborne General Hospital in her 65th year on Sunday, February 10, with her family and friends close by her side. Beloved wife of Wayne for over 41 years, a devoted and loving mother of Jason of Wainfleet and Darren (Christina) of Brooklin, ON. Also survived by her mother Melba Chambers of Fenwick, sister Linda Kun (Dave) of Fenwick, two brothers Stan Chambers of Fenwick and Doug Chambers (Connie) of Cooks Mills, sister-in-law Margaret Chambers of Niagara Falls and brother-in- law Reg Redshaw of Welland. Also survived by her first grandchild, Stephanie Redshaw of Brooklin, ON., and several nieces and one nephew. Dianne has been reunited with her son Bryan Wayne (1985), her father George (2001) and her in-laws Reginald (1991) and Mary Redshaw (1992). She has also been reunited with good friends Marg Lee (1990), Donna Parsons (1997) and Marilyn and Jerry Rossi (2007). Dianne has a special green thumb and she enjoyed spending hours ever day from spring to fall in her flower and vegetable gardens at their lakeside residence. She also played a key role in helping her husband publish the FORE! Golfers Only magazine for 12 successful seasons in the Niagara Region. In fact, she was the backbone of the operation and with D.W.R. Sports Publications which published two books and other publications and special editions over the years. Dianne will be sadly missed by her family, her granddaughter, relatives, neighbours and friends and especially by her close friends Carl and Linda Turton who enjoyed coming over summer evenings sitting around the camp fire watching the moon and starts, listening to the waves roll in on the lake and talking about the past. Dianne was full of compassion and loved giving to others. She will be greatly missed by all those who were touched by her charm and wisdom. HINTON, Mrs. Roberta H.
