Loving mother of Andy Aranyosi and his wife Liesel of Ottawa and Bradley Aranyosi and his wife Tamela of Deep River. Cherished grandmother of Zanda and Lizl Rodriguez, Robert, Taryn and Kirstyn Aranyosi and 2 great grandchildren Chantelle and Kayla McPhee. Dear sister of Martha Smith and her husband Bud of Sun City, California, Jackie Lukovitch and her husband Eddie of Round Lake and Vera Yantha of Toronto. Predeceased by three brothers Ambrose, Donald and Leonard Chapeskie and four sisters Peggy Coulas, Doris Varga, Annie Yantha and Agnes Mask. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will be in the Deep River Community Cemetery. HOLMES, Verna Georgie Passed away in her room at the Grace Manor with her son and daughter at her side on Saturday February 2, 2008, just two days shy of her 81st birthday. Committed and loving mother of Sheila (Mike Hayden) and Thomas (Chantale Gosselin). Proud Nana of Theodore, Taylor and Mitchell. Dear sister of Walter (Ruth) Leonard, Edna (the late Gordon) Bingham, and the late Harry (Mary Martin) Leonard. Cherished aunt, cousin, teacher, colleague, and friend, to so many. Although Alzheimer Disease took her short-term memory, her appetite, and finally her strength, it could not steal her dignity or her sense of humour. She remained a true Cape-Breton story-teller, grateful that she was still able to recognize and enjoy the company of her family and friends. Verna touched and inspired everyone she met, with her unfailing spirit of gratitude and generosity, courage and humility, humour and wit. In keeping with Verna's wishes, her body was donated to help others and a Celebration of her Life will be held in Halifax in August. All are invited to a Memorial Service in Ottawa at the Grace Manor Sunday February 10, 2008 at 9:30 AM. Special thanks to her care-givers Maria and Debbie, and the staff at Rosemount and the Grace Manor, for their loving care. In her time in Ottawa Verna was touched by visits, crafts, and art projects with the children of the local elementary school. Elle fut prédécédée par son compagnon de vie Roméo Paquette. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey Charles Foley and Emma Myra (Beck) Foley. Vivian was a long-time employee of the Royal Bank. She is survived by brothers, John "Jack" Foley, Bridgewater; Eric Foley (Helen), Dorchester, Ont.; sisters, Lucille Dunning (Terry), Barrie, Ont.; Norma Taylor (Tom), Halifax; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Cameron Foley, Richard "Dick" Foley, and sisters, Kathleen "Kaye" Hubley (Donald), Elizabeth "Betty" Latremouille (John) and Barbara Dolliver (Arthur). Cremation has taken place and interment of ashes will be in the family plot in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, at a later date.

JAMES, Elliott Milton JAMES, Elliott Milton - 79, Dartmouth, passed away February 5, 2008, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Oakfield, N.Y., he was a son of the late William A. and Florence (Beaver) James. Elliott worked at HMC Dockyard in the Weapons Division for 34 years, until his retirement in 1988. He was a charter member of Woodlawn United Church, and was a member of the Men's Club. He was very involved in the Woodlawn Kiwanis Club where he was past president. Elliott was a member of the Dartmouth Lawn Bowling Club, and was a volunteer at IWK Health Centre. He enjoyed gardening, traveling with his wife and lunching at the Senior's Club on Ochterloney Street. He is survived by his son, Brian D. (Susan) James, Lower Sackville; brother, Donald (Rae) James, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Nicholas and Andrew James, Lower Sackville; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in 2002 by his loving wife, Margaret Marie (Hudson). Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday from 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. MacDONALD, Jerome MacDONALD, Jerome - 80, of 4 Scarboro Dr., Antigonish and formerly of Lismore, Pictou Co., passed away Monday, February 4, 2008, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital. Born in Ohio, Antigonish Co., he was a son of the late Allan C. and Mary (MacLean) MacDonald. Jerome was employed by Atlantic Richfield Oil Company for 28 years in Los Angeles, Dallas and Anchorage, Alaska. While in L.A. he was an executive member of the Highland Society of Southern California, a member of the Catholic Accountants Society and a founding member of the L.A. Highland Society. In Anchorage he was a founding member of the Petroleum Accountants Society, and a member of the Cribbage Club. After retiring to Nova Scotia he was made an honorary member of the Gunshot Memory Club. Jerome was also a past member of the Board of Directors of the Lismore and District Community Centre and for several years was a member of the St. Mary's Parish Council. While in Anchorage, Jerome had the honour of ushering at a mass celebrated by Pope John Paul II. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; sisters, Thelma (Donald) MacDonald, Ardness; Joan (George) MacInnis, Georgia; brother, Al (Jean) MacDonald, Anaheim, Calif. MacDONALD (Purvis), Willna Cavell MacDONALD (Purvis), Willna Cavell - Plymouth Park, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2008, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born November 26, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Nellie (MacLean) Purvis (Lower Plymouth). Willna's happiest times were spent at home with her family and visiting with her friends. She will be remembered for her ability to fill her home with warmth and her days with laughter. Willna graduated from Maritime Business College in Halifax and was employed at the Acadia Coal Company office in Stellarton prior to her marriage. She was a resident of Lower Plymouth for much of her earlier life other than the 13 years she and her family lived in Sydney River. She was actively involved in the community there with particular interest in the Y's Menette Club. Willna was a member of Sharon St. John United Church in Stellarton and taught Sunday school there for several years. In later years, she greatly enjoyed the many friends she made in both the Trenton Twirlers and Plymouth Seniors Club. She was also proud to serve as a volunteer for the Pictou County Seniors Help Line. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Demchuk (Greg), Middle Sackville; her son, Robert MacDonald (Janet), Plymouth Park; her grandson, Luke MacDonald, and granddaughter, Leslie MacLeod (Andrew). Willna was predeceased by her husband, Rolph MacDonald, and infant brother, Robert. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 8, in H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. KAY, Estelle 2008-02-06 It is with great sorrow the family of Estelle Kay announces her passing on February 2, 2008. Estelle was born April 29, 1928 to Edward and Enes Ellis of Dorion; she grew up on Spring Bank Farm. As a young woman she worked in the bush camps as a second cook where she met her husband Floyd Kay. They were married September 10, 1947 at which time Estelle moved to her current residence in Hurkett. Predeceased by her parents Edward & Enes Ellis, husband Floyd Kay, brothers Edward, Leslie & Stan, sisters Lily Rippengal, Emily Hand, Edna Phillips, May Watty & Phyllis Jones and a son Reginald in infancy. Survived by her children Eleanor McIver, Les (Shelley), Roger (Donna), Dwight (Eva), Bernadette (Joe Langthorne). By nine Grandchildren Elizabeth, Robert, Jeff, Jason, Shannon, Adam, Amanda, Cassandra & Joey. By seven Great Grandchildren, Michael, Justin, Matthew, Sara, Brandon, Riley & Hailey. PIERCY, WALLACE JAMES EWEN "MIKE" - With his loving family surrounding him, Wallace James Ewen "Mike" Piercy passed away at the home of his daughter in Lincoln, NB on Tuesday, February 5th, 2008. He was 75. Born April 28th, 1932 in Geary, NB, he was the son of the late Bowman and Della (Smith) Piercy and husband of the late Florence "Honey" (McDonald) Piercy, whom he was married to for over 56 years. Mike was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a businessman who operated the Esso Service Station in Lincoln for over 30 years. A member of the Lower Lincoln Baptist Church as well as the Alexandria Lodge #33, and the Luxor's Shriners Temple with the Fire Brigade. Survived by his five children, Tim Piercy (Wendy), Annette Munn (Bob), Ted Piercy (Louise), Tom Piercy (Janet) and Terry Piercy (Debbie), all of Fredericton; 13 grandchildren, Trent, Shelley, Todd, Justin, Travis, Tyler, Kayle, Michael, Katie and Karley Piercy, Sherry, Becky and Bonny Munn; 4 great-grandsons, Cameron, Ryan, Oliver and Teigan; sister-in-law Ruby Piercy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. McINTOSH, MICHAEL A. - We regret to announce the death of Mike McIntosh at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 5, 2008. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth McIntosh on April 24, 2000. Mike is survived by his sons, Michael (Mary Jo) and Rayford McIntosh. His grandchildren, Andrew McIntosh (Debbie) Susan, Michael (Stephanie), Joan Huskins (Rick), Natasha (David), Kari (Andrew), and Shane (Diane); and great-grandchildren, Patrick, Ian, Keegan, Thomas, Spencer and Kiera. Michael was born in Glace Bay, NS on May 21, 1927. He was a proud veteran of the Merchant Navy and a member of the RCR occupation forces in Germany. He was a founding member of local 131, Insulators Union and for over 40 years worked on many of New Brunswick's major projects. He was also a long standing member of the NB Legion, including Branch #2 and Jervis Bay. Mike was a devoted family man who loved having everyone around him. Although not completely politically correct, he had a wicked sense of humor. He loved his wife, his family, flowers, gardening, his truck and his friends (we are not sure of the order). DINEEN, GRACE CATHERINE (KAY) - The death of Kay Dineen, 85, widow of Dr. James O. Dineen, occurred on February 3, 2008, at hospital in Fredericton. She was the daughter of Grace (Duffy) and Joseph Archambault of Superior, Wisconsin, and the adopted daughter of Irene (Cooney) and George Dineen of Calgary, Alberta. Kay was educated at Saint Mary's, Calgary and at St. Michael's College, Toronto before marrying and moving to Fredericton in 1941. She was a wife, mother and active member of St. Dunstan's Parish, CWL and the UNB Faculty Women's Club. Kay was a generous volunteer to many community organizations. She is survived by four children, James, George, Patricia (Jim Piercy) and Barbara Hill; by fourteen grandchildren, Sandra Dineen, Shannon, Sean and Michael (Kathleen) Lee, Grace, Anna, Jim, Jack and Julia Piercy and Charles, Thomas, Sarah, Martin and Elizabeth Hill; by three great-grandchildren and by sister-in-law, Admere Archambeau. STEVENS, BRIAN DOUGLAS - Born August 7th, 1948 to February 3rd, 2008, at the age of 59, passed away at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Brian is survived by his wife, K Deborah (MacPherson) Stevens; daughter Dawn J (Stevens) Holman; and son-in-law Eric G.S. Holman; all residing in Fredericton. Brian is also survived by many extended loving family members and supportive friends. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Doreen and Wendell Stevens, Grand Bay; as well as aunts, uncles, and grandparents on both sides of our families. Growing up, Brian enjoyed playing softball and hockey in and around the Grand Bay area. Brian continued his active lifestyle playing hockey and softball, as well as a love for salmon fishing on the Miramichi and in Newfoundland and Labrador. After high school, Brian was employed by NBTel; and over the past 30 years was owner/businessman of several companies: Airtel; Atlantic; Bruncom Communications and Midland Canada. His companies operated in the retail and wholesale sectors, with two-way radio communications, small business telephone services and audio equipment applications. Brian was affiliated with many local and Canadian Organizations which included the Fredericton Golf Club, the Miramichi Salmon Association and the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce. He was also a very proud and active member of the Fredericton North Rotary Club. Donations can be made to any of these organizations in Brian's memory. No visitations will be held. LEBLANC, H. ISABEL - The death of Hannah Isabel LeBlanc of Saint John, NB, wife of the late J. Medley LeBlanc, occurred on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on October 1, 1916 she was a daughter of the late George Frederick and Lucy Rose (Gibbons) Orr. Isabel had a great love for music, gardening and bird watching. She will be remembered as a very special lady; intelligent, mirthful and kind, with a positive outlook in all circumstances. Survived by a son, J. Medley LeBlanc Jr., of Saint John; a brother, James Orr and two sisters, Lucille Marr and Gracie Totten. Predeceased by her husband of more than 60 years; and several sisters. Terenzio "Terry" Mostacci August 15, 1937 - February 04, 2008 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father and Nonno, on February 4, 2008, in his 71st year, surrounded by his family and friends. Terry was the beloved husband of Giovanna (Merla) for 41 years. Loving father of Pat and Gloria, and Matteo and Anna. Nothing brought greater joy to Nonno than being surrounded by his grandchildren, Erika, Benjamin, Janeil, Zachary and Madalyn. He will be forever with them in all they do. Predeceased by his parents Pasquale and Frida Mostacci. Beloved brother to Antonette and Ron Fidanza, and Filomena and the late Silvano Cipriani. Brother-in-law to Salvatore and Maria Cassano, and Frank and Angela Merla. Terry is survived by family in Italy, and his father-in-law Matteo and the late Emanuella Merla. Brother-in-law to Salvatore and Filomena Merla, Antonietta Merla, Grazia and Pasquale Cappucci, Filomena and Mario Savino. He will be loving remembered by his nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada, Italy and the U.S.A. Terry retired from Stelco in 2001 with 44 years of service. He was a professional wrestler in the late 60's and left behind many memories for his family and friends to cherish forever. Terry will forever be remembered for the love of his garden and his love of life. He cherished his family and was very proud of all our accomplishments. The family would like to thank all of our family and friends for their constant support and compassion in the last few months, especially his cousin Elvezio and Giuseppina Palmiero, his best friends Tony and Nica Doro, and Carmen and Tony Piccirillo. Monsieur Xavier Miron a été propriétaire de Carrosserie d'auto Miron à Côte-St-Paul durant 58 ans. PAGÉ, Édouard À Montréal, le 4 février 2008, est décédé Monsieur Édouard Pagé. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Madeleine Constantin, ses fils Peter (Cheryl Holmes) et Michael (Sherry Raymond) enfants de sa première épouse June Doyle, décédée en 1976, ses petites-filles Clea (Tim Ward), Anna et Sarah, son arrière-petite-fille Mae Ward. Aimé de ses étudiants, estimé de ses collègues, le docteur Pagé a poursuivi des activités d'enseignement et de recherche à l'Université Laval, et à partir de 1955, à l'Université de Montréal. Il y a occupé divers postes administratifs, dont ceux de doyen de la Faculté des sciences et de directeur du Département de sciences biologiques. Il a fondé la Station de biologie de St-Hippolyte, participé à d'importantes commissions et de nombreux comités et co-fondé l'Association des professeurs retraités de l'université. Sa fructueuse et longue carrière a été couronnée du titre de professeur émérite. Il a été inscrit, en 2005, sur la liste des pionniers de l'Université.
