MCLAREN, DONALD - Donald McLaren, of St. Andrews, N.B. passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008 after 76 years of good living and a short battle with cancer. He will be dearly missed by son, Tony; daughter-in-law, Julie; and grandsons, Trevor and Tyler; and his dog, Bandit. Also saddened by his loss are his sister, Florence and Jack Irwin; his brothers, William (Laudia) and Louis (June) and their children, along with the Trecartin family and many friends. Predeceased by his loving wife, Freda (Trecartin); his parents, Louis and LuLu (Lambert); and brother, Ronald. Donnie was born and lived his entire life in St. Andrews. He and Freda previously owned the Blue Moon and Picket Fence Motels in St. Andrews. He was often jokingly referred to as the Mayor of Chamcook and at one time was an avid bowler and very active in the Legion, and with the committee for Ministers Island. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to Jeff Jackson, Dr. Green and the staff in Emergency Care at Charlotte County Hospital, Bill, Laudia and Robert McLaren, and especially Susan Goertzen and Cliff Pendleton who remained at Donnie's side while we travelled from Ontario. At Donnie's request his body was donated to Medical Science at Dalhousie University. A "Celebration of His Life" will occur when his ashes are returned to his family. BAINBRIDGE, GORDON, STANLEY, 54, of Seal Cove, Grand Manan passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital, Thursday, January 31, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Born at Victoria, BC, he was the son of the late Thornton Bainbridge and Agnes (Ward) Bainbridge of Ingalls Head. Gordon was employed at the Connors Bros., Seal Cove Plant and worked on the sealers in the processing line; he was a member of the Seal Cove Baptist Church. Survived by his wife, Teri Lynn (Frost) Bainbridge at home; his mother, Agnes Bainbridge, Ingalls Head; two daughters, Irene (Glen) Hartford of St. Andrews, Laura (Michael Stanley) Bainbridge, of Seal Cove; one son, Lloyd Bainbridge of Grand Harbour; three sisters, Agnes Melanson of Memramcook, Pat (Harold) Ingalls of Castalia, Irene (Lionell) Scott of Ingalls Head; three brothers, John (Sharon) Bainbridge of Woodstock, Russell (Priscilla) Bainbridge of Moncton, Gerry (Francis) Bainbridge Saint John, and Herbert (Cindy) Bainbridge of Seal Cove; nine grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Seal Cove Baptist Church on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, the funeral service will be held from the Church on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Peter Smith officiating, the interment will take place later in the spring at the Hillside Cemetery, Seal Cove. Following the service on Sunday there will be a reception in the Church Hall hosted by the Ladies of the Church, everyone is welcome to attend. The family has asked to have memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation. LANTZ, Orrin Harding The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Thursday, January 31, 2008 of Orrin Harding Lantz, of Summerside, aged 79 years. Orrin was born in Centrelea, N.S. on March 28, 1928 to his late parents, Hubert and Irene (nee Harding) Lantz. Beloved husband of Eileen (nee Whiting) Lantz and loving father of Theresa Chace (Alfred Gallant of St. Timothy) of Summerside; Pearl (Allan) Green of Shearwater, N.S.; David (Barry) of Bathurst, N.B., and Ray (Erika) of Moncton, N.B. Also lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren: Brad, Lauren, Laurie, Sarah, Josie and Kate, and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sister, Phyllis Chute of Nova Scotia and his brother, Gordon of Ontario. Besides his parents, Orrin was predeceased by his sister Ethel Rafuse. Georgette Meilleur Passed away on / Décédé(e) le January 28, 2008 Nous regrettons de vous annoncer le décès de Georgette Meilleur le lundi 28 janvier, au Manoir North Centennial à l'âge de 78 ans. Elle laisse dans le deuil quatre filles, Diane Champagne (Bill) de Kapuskasing, Lise Tremblay (Marcel) de Moonbeam, Michelle Mondor (Robert) de Montréal et Nicole Filion (Jean-Guy) de Fauquier, deux fils, Pierre (Jacynthe) et André tous de Moonbeam, deux soeurs, Claudette et Simone tous de Montréal, ainsi que treize petits-enfants et quatorze arrière- petits-enfants. Elle fut prédécédée par son époux, Roch et un fils, Louis. Georgette Meilleur reposera à la salle paroissial Nativité-de-Marie, le jeudi 31 janvier de 19h00 à 21h00. La célébration eucharistique aura lieu le vendredi 1 février, en l'église-Nativité-de Marie à 15h00 avec le Père Jean-Guy Mailloux comme célébrant. L'inhumation suivra au printemps au cimetière de Moonbeam. La famille serait reconnaissante des dons à la Fondation des maladies du cœur comme témoignage de sympathie.

KUEHN, Brigitte Christiana (nee Samulewitz) At the Hospice at May Court on Wednesday, January 30th, 2008 at age 81 after a long illness. Devoted wife of 57 years of Juergen Kuehn and loving mother of Olaf (Sally) and Edie. Cherished Omi of Davin and Eric as well as great-grandmother of Vanessa. Predeceased by her sister Else in Germany where she is survived by a nephew and two nieces. Her children want to express their gratefulness and thanks to their father, who for several years cared for their mother so lovingly at home. KENDALL, Stephen James Dec. 24, 1954 - Jan. 29, 2008 After a brief battle with stomach cancer, Stephen (Steve) passed away in Winnipeg in the presence of his friend, partner and lover of 17 years, Glen Patrick Hoban. He is survived by his mother Louise Mary Kendall (nee Delahunty), his friends, and his co-workers at the Norwood Hotel, where he was a chef, many of whom were very fond of him. He is predeceased by his father, Frederick James Kendall. Steve spent his childhood as a 'forces brat'. His great loves in life were knowledge, learning, skill, books and the Divine. Stephen was one of the founders of the Winnipeg Pagan community in the late 80's. He spoke a few times on the Peter Warren show, and was for a time editor of "The Minstrel" magazine. He was writing a book which was to distill his decades of experience with the Divine. BEYEA, MAUREEN ANNE - The death of Maureen Anne Beyea loving wife of Bryce H. Beyea of Saint John, occurred on Thursday January 31st, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. Born on March 8th, 1947 in St. John's NFLD, she was the daughter of the late William and Sara Ring. Besides her husband, she is survived by son, Stuart Bryce and daughter, Catherine Elizabeth both of Saint John, her brother, Dr. William Ring of Brockville Ontario; four sisters, Carol (David) Hagen, Catherine Ring of Ottawa, Andrea (Gavin) Toumache of St. Stephen and Joanne (Bill) Vaughn of Saint John, several nieces; nephews; sister in-law, Carol Graves of Quispamsis; best friend, Marilyn Nice of Saint John. Maureen worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia in Fredericton before she moved to Saint John and was very involved in her family business. She was Extremely devoted to her family. Maureen had a passion for gardening and gourmet cooking, she enjoyed skiing, curling and devoting her time to volunteer work including delivering meals with meals on wheels. BURNS, Rita Following a courageous battle with cancer over the past few years, Rita passed away peacefully, at home with family by her side, Wednesday January 30, 2008 at the age of 88. Rita remained alert and interested in every detail of all family members' lives until her final day. Loved and cherished by husband Robert for 64 wonderful years of marriage.
