DUCHESNE (née Lepain), Mireille 1941 - 2008 Après un long et courageux combat contre le cancer, Mireille est décédée à Montréal le 12 janvier 2008, à l'âge de 66 ans. D'une grande sagesse, elle a été pour plusieurs d'entre-nous un Mentor de vie. Mireille était connue pour sa générosité et son ouverture remarquable sur toutes les facettes de la vie. Sa tendresse nous manquera. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses filles Nathalie (Dany) et Anick (Jean-François), ses petits-enfants Xavier, Naömie, Loïc, Élodie et Chloé, sa soeur Camille (Marcel) et son frère Jean-Pierre (Huguette) ainsi que plusieurs ami(e)s. Il était l'époux bien-aimé de Angèle Hubert, le fils de feu Napoléon Brazeau et de feu Philomène Coderre. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans la peine ses 12 enfants: Agathe (Roger Larocque), Denis (Denise Gauvreau), Gilles (Claudette Meunier), Gabrielle (Hilaire Renaud), Marie-Andrée (Michel Babin), Jean-Noël (Diane Guindon), Rita (Robert Lebel), Jean-Pierre, Jacques, Annette (Réjean Renaud), Céline (Pierre Bertrand) et Raymond. Il était le grand-père adoré de 17 petits-enfants, 29 arrière-petits-enfants et de 11 arrière-arrière-petits-enfants. Il laisse également 1 soeur, Lucille (Rolland R. Gauvreau). Il fut prédécédé par 1 gendre, Rolland Cloutier, par 6 soeurs: Cécile (feu Paul Beaudoin), Antoinette (feu Emile Lamothe), Anna (feu Marcel Renaud), soeur Georgiana, Bertha (feu Paul-Emile Gauvreau) et Annette (feu Florent Gingras) ainsi que par 3 frères: Antoine (feu Jeanne Dupras), Louis (feu Eva Philippe) et Cléophas (feu Albertine Gosselin). Il laisse aussi 1 beau-frère, Pierre Hubert (feu Julienne Séguin), 1 belle-soeur, Pauline Martineau (feu Oscar Hubert), plusieurs neveux et nièces ainsi que de nombreux amis. Il était membre des Chevaliers de Colomb conseil 6853 de Ste-Cécile-de-Masham. MAENPAA, Eugene Evert - In loving memory of Eugene Evert Maenpaa, 86 years, who passed away Sunday, January 27th, 2008 at Finlandia Koti, Sudbury. Born September 3rd, 1921, in Worthington Ontario, he was a loving son to Evert and Maija (nee Laaksonen) Maenpaa both deceased. Dear brother of Olavi (wife Liliane) both deceased, Eino deceased (wife Senja Reed of British Columbia) and Tyko deceased (wife Tellervo of Sudbury). Eugene was a life long resident of the Sudbury area and made his living by trapping. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed a spirited game of cribbage, a quick joke or reminiscing about his trap-line days. He was a kind and caring person. His gentleness and humour will also be sadly missed by his nephews, nieces and cousins. OBITUARY JAMES BARRY CONDY April 24, 1938 - January 27, 2008 Barry Condy passed away at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec after a brief and courageous battle with cancer on January 27, 2008 at the age of sixty-nine. Barry will be deeply missed by Louise "LouLou" (Fanson) his wife of twenty-eight years and his three children, Derek (Cindy and Joshua) of Winnipeg, MB, Cheryl (Doug) of Edgewater, BC and David of Winnipeg, MB; and predeceased by his parents, James and Vera and his sister Florence and survived by his sister Betty Pion. Barry will be sorely missed by his two life long friends and mates Jim Alexander and Robert (Bob) McFetridge. Born in Winnipeg, Barry was educated there and went on to work at Investors Group and then Great West Life for many years as a senior financial advisor to group pension funds across Canada. After a very successful career at both firms, Barry founded his own investment firm, Ethicor Financial in Montreal. He will be remembered fondly by colleagues across Canada for his dedication to the investment profession, his tenacity and his incisive judgement. In the mid 70's while visiting Bob on Lac Gagnon in the Laurentians north of Montreal, he saw an island there for sale, which he immediately fell in love with and bought. There, Barry and Louise spent many years enjoying their friends in the area, sailing, waterskiing, rafting and having evening fires during the summer. WINN - L. Donald of Port Colborne died at the Port Colborne General Hospital on Sunday January 27, 2008 at the age of 93 years. Beloved husband of the late Jean (nee Malcolm) Winn, loving father of Wallace Winn (Valmai Fry) of Little Britain, Ontario, dear grandfather of Matthew Winn of Australia. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his parents Charles and Clara Winn, his sisters Olivia Campbell and Florence Winn and his brothers Alex Winn and Edward Winn. Born in Port Colborne he has lived in this area all of his life. He was a self employed painter and decorator for many years. Following in his father's footsteps, Don Winn was initiated into MacNab Lodge on October 26, 1937 at the age of 22, and on January 26, 2008 he celebrated his 93rd birthday. From the beginning Don had a deep desire to learn all he could about the Masonic order. This desire to expand his Masonic knowledge resulted in him joining King Hiram Chapter 57 Royal Arch Masons in 1941 and St. Bernard de Clairveaux Preceptory 19 in 1942. Due to his strong commitment to maintain and promote masonry, Don took leadership roles not only in the Craft Lodge, but also in the Chapter and Preceptory. He served as Worshipful Master of MacNab Lodge in 1952 and was elected District Deputy Grand Master of Niagara District B' in 1955, with The Most Worshipful Grand Master Bishop William L. Wright as the Grand Master. He served as 1st Principle of King Hiram Chapter in 1948 and was elected Grand Superintendent in 1959. Don also served as President Preceptor of St. Bernard de Clairveaux Preceptory in 1948. In 1944 Don joined Rameses Shriners in Toronto. As was his custom he became an active member. In 1957 he was one of the founding members of the Port Colborne District Shrine Club, serving as its 1st President. Don has dedicated his time and efforts for more than 60 years to raising funds for physically challenged and burned children. He was a proud Shriner and proud of our hospital system. At his home, he made one of his garages available to crush and bag aluminum cans for the Shrine Children's Transportation Fund. For over 70 years he as been a very important part of Masonry at MacNab Lodge in Port Colborne and for over 60 years to the Shrine Club. Cremation has taken place. The Winn Family will receive visitors at the PORT COLBORNE CHAPEL of the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOMES 135 Clarence St. on Thursday 7-9 p.m. MacNab Lodge 169 A.F. & A.M will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Friday February 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gordon Abraham of the Port Colborne Baptist Church officiating. Interment of ashes will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. PARTON, Tara Shantel Ryanne - After a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis Tara succumbed peacefully at her home in Collingwood at the age of 15, with her mother Shannon and her father Doug at her side. Tara, beloved sister of Cody Parton and Ashley Parton and her partner Ryan Phillips. Cherished granddaughter of Shirley and the late Bruce Parton and Mel and Eleanor Mather.
