DELISLE Lawrence DELISLE (M. Lawrence) Est décédé subitement à son domicile, le 8 décembre 2007, à l'âge de 67 ans, M. Lawrence Delisle, époux de dame Monique Guay, demeurant à Roberval. Il était le fils de feu M. Johnny Delisle et de feu dame Hélène Privé. La famille accueillera les parents et ami(e)s à la maison funéraire Marc Leclerc Ltée 100, rue Paré Roberval le lundi 10 décembre 2007 de 15 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 22 h. Le jour des funérailles, le salon sera ouvert à compter de 9 h. Les funérailles auront lieu le mardi 11 décembre 2007 à 11 h à l'église Notre-Dame de Roberval. La dépouille mortelle sera incinérée au Crématorium de la Maison Marc Leclerc Ltée de Roberval et les cendres seront déposées au cimetière de Roberval. JOHNSTON, KENNETH MILTON - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Kenneth Milton Johnston "Kenny" at Charlotte County Regional Hospital on December 8, 2007. Kenny leaves behind his wife, Jean (Weeks) of fifty-seven years, his childhood sweetheart whom he met while toboggan sliding in Old Ridge. His loving memory will live on in his seven children; daughters, Brenda Sansom (David) in Fredericton, Terry Dickerson (Bobby) St.Stephen and Marlene Moore (Dean) in Penniac; son Marshall (Syreena) in New Germany, Nova Scotia and triplet sons who all reside in Moore's Mills, Robert (Pam), Randal (Melinda) and Rodney (Tanya). He is also survived by grandchildren Teena, Tricia, Jami, Samantha, Timmy, Trevor, Kristan, Wesley, and twins, Brandan and Brandi; and great grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Ethan, Madison, Logan, Jenna, Reese and Rylan. Daddy loved white cats and leaves Momma to care for his snow white "Sparky". Daddy was born in Dewolfe Corner, December 10, 1930 and lost a twenty dollar bet when his first child Brenda was born two days before his twentieth birthday. Daddy was the third of seventeen children of the late George and Vivian (Foote) Johnston. He was predeceased by his most special friend, Bob McBride and his brothers, Marvin (Gooley), Earl and Sam. He is survived by siblings, Albert, Florence Crosby, Clarence, Gerald, Sharon Needle, Raymond, Hazen and Roger. Daddy was raised by his grandparents, the late Willard and Mildred (Moore) Johnston in the small community of Moore's Mills where he attended school and began his life as a fun loving, joke playing imp. Daddy spent his entire life in Charlotte County living as well in Milltown and The Ledge and a brief time in Fredericton. Daddy worked his entire life. After a life dedicated to the principals of honest, hard work and a spinal chord injury in 1994 he finally retired in 1997. He peeled pulp and worked for Gerald Gilman at Gilman's Garage in Moore's Mills when he left school but later became a very capable licensed mechanic and a licensed electrician. He was also a plumber and finished carpenter. He outfitted a complete carpentry workshop in his basement to accommodate him working from a wheelchair. He worked for Bert Linton selling Volkswagens and later had his own business, Causeway Motors at Oak Bay where he continued to sell Volkswagens and Used Cars. Causeway Motors later moved to Milltown when he bought the facility operated by one of his childhood mentors, Norman Holmes. Daddy never got rich at anything because his kind and generous heart ruled his fee schedule, if he managed to even charge you for the work he did. When his garage was not open, customers, friends and strangers simply came to the house anytime of the day and night to get their cars fixed. Once cell phones came into popular use he is known to have listened to the car engines over the phone so as to diagnose the problem. Daddy could fix anything - anything that is except cancer. He will be lovingly remembered as the eternal optimist who always had a smile, a laugh and a solution - if you had a problem. He is renown for his ability to solve mechanical problems when others could not. He will be treasured by the respect he instilled in others when never gave up when he was told he would not walk again. He built a pulley in his garage at The Ledge so that he could exercise his legs and back. Daddy's legacy is four sons, all of whom have his mechanical talents and three daughters who can jump start a car. Daddy taught by example the importance of doing a job to the best of your ability, working hard and being honest and fair. His determination to walk and live independently has been an inspiration to everyone around him. Quite simply, our dad was amazing. As cancer slowly took its final toll, our dad, the perfect patient continued to bless us with moments of precious memories reflective of the good, kind and generous man he had always been. There are no words to express our immense gratitude for the professional love, care and compassion from Kindred Home Care, Hospice of Charlotte and the Charlotte County Hospital Palliative Care Staff. BOWES, MONICA "MONA" THERESA (DOOLEY) - At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB on December 8, 2007 Monica "Mona" Theresa (Dooley) Bowes passed away surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bath, NB and Roman Catholic by faith, Mona will be remembered for her beautiful smile, commitment to family, deep spirituality, positive attitude and penchant for decorating her homes and many others. She also had a great passion for golf. Her professional life included working with many departments within the NB Provincial Government. She was the founder and principle of Anmar Holdings Limited. Mona then moved to Florida in 1981 and started a family business, Bradenton House of Golf. Mona returned home to New Brunswick this past summer to make her permanent home in Fredericton. She is survived by her children, Andrew (Amber) Bowes of Greenville, South Carolina, Marti (Steve) Wymer of Bradenton, Florida; grandchildren, Sydney, Brigid, Mason and Michael. WHITFORD, Mr. George - Born in Timmins, Ontario on February 10th, 1927, passed away at home in his 80th year, on Sunday December 9th, 2007. Beloved Husband of Ann (nee Roscoe), his wife of 53 years. Loving Dad of Trudy, Jay, Nancy and Tara. Proud Papa of Shannon and Tim and father-in-law to John, Kelly and Steve. He will be fondly remembered by his surviving sisters Sylvia, Marjorie, Joan, Shirley and brothers Les and Donald. Our Dad retired from Kidd Creek Mines in 1987 and moved south to be close to his kids. He was happiest when he was surrounded by all his family. He was the pillar of our family and will be sadly missed. Our Dad's last wish was to have his family and friends gather in his home and asked that there be no funeral service. We will receive family and friends at our home, 78 Meredith Drive, St. Catharines, Ontario on Thursday December 13th all day. Cremation has already taken place. GAUGHAN, Jim - It is with great sorrow the family announces the death of Jim Gaughan in his 84th year. Jim passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Health Center on December 9th, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Lila Gaughan and their children Marissa (husband Max), Philip, Patrick (wife Holly) and predeceased by his son Peter (2003). Beloved grandfather of Samantha, Joshua, Sarah, Marcus, Kaplan, Dayna and Gavin. Jim worked at Eatons in the furniture department from 1963 until his retirement at 70 years of age. Missing the day to day social interaction, he took a job at WalMart as a greeter until failing health forced him to leave in 2006. Jim was actively involved in the Church of the Ascension throughout his life and was also President of the New Sudbury Lions Club in his younger years. Jim touched many lives with his charismatic humour and his genuine love of people. He will be sadly missed. HARRINGTON, Susan. It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Susan, age fifty-five on Friday, December 7, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving daughter of Pauline Harrington and the late Donald Harrington. Susan will be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives and colleagues at the Royal Bank at Place Ville Marie. CORNELIA IRENA RUSZKOWSKI NÉE LOGA est décédée paisiblement à la résidence Rideau Gardens le 8 décembre 2007, à l'âge de 97 ans. Épouse de feu André Ruszkowski, professeur émérite à l'Université St-Paul, Ottawa. Elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille Maria (Thomas Babinski), de Montréal et son fils Jean-Paul (Carolina Calderon), d'Ottawa; six petits-fils et douze arrière-petits-enfants. Née le 13 novembre 1910 à Varsovie, Madame Ruszkowski obtint une Maîtrise en Droit de l'Université de Varsovie en 1932, fut admise au Barreau de Varsovie en 1938 et pratiqua le droit jusqu'au début de la seconde guerre mondiale. Réfugiée en France au cours de la guerre, en 1952 elle partit avec sa famille pour le Pérou où son mari avait été engagé comme Professeur de Droit à l'Université Catholique de Lima. De 1952 à 1968 elle a été responsable des archives légales de la compagnie minière Cerro de Pasco Corporations à Lima. Peu de temps après son immigration au Canada, elle obtint une Maîtrise en Droit Canon de l'Université St-Paul d'Ottawa en 1971. Elle travailla par la suite comme défenseur du lien au tribunal écclésiastique d'Ottawa. Membre de l'Institut polonais des arts et des sciences au Canada, elle fut également, pendant 14 ans, coordonnatrice pour le Canada du ANorth American Study Centre for Polish Affairs@(STUDIUM). Born in Warsaw, 13th of November, 1910, Mrs. Ruszkowski obtained a Master's Degree in Law from Warsaw University in 1932, was admitted to the Warsaw Bar in 1938 and pratised law until the outbreak of WWII. She was a refugee in France during the war and in 1952 left with her family for Peru where her husband had been engaged as a Professor of Law at Catholic University of Lima. From 1952 to 1968 she was in charge of legal archives at the Lima head office of the mining company, Cerro de Pasco Corporation. Shortly after she immigrated to Canada she obtained a Master's degree in Canon Law from St. Paul University, Ottawa, in 1972. She subsequently worked as defender of the Bond at the Ecclesiastical Tribunal in Ottawa. A member of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences in Canada, she also served for 14 years as co-ordinator for Canada of the North American Study Centre for Polish Affairs (Studium). GAUDET, WILLIAM R. - The death of William R. Gaudet, loving husband of Shirley (Parks) Gaudet of Saint John occurred on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1937 in Saint John he was the son of the late Felix (Phil) and Margaret (Robichaud) Gaudet. Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion # 53 and a Life Member of City and District Dart League. Besides his loving wife Shirley, he is survived by one daughter; five step sons; two step daughters; sister, Grace Barnes of Saint John; and sister, Mary. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Charles Gaudet; sisters, Doris Walker and Margaret Dunkerly. By Bill's request there will be no visitations or funeral service. CRAWFORD, DONALD P. - The death of Donald P. Crawford of Crawford Road, Saint John, NB, husband of the late, M. Patience Crawford occurred on December 8, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Saint John on August 1, 1912, he was a son of the late William J. and Sarah (Powell) Crawford. Donald was co-owner and operator of W.J. Crawford and Company Ltd. with his brothers. He was a past member of the Hampton Golf Course, where he had golfed until he was 91 years of age. He was a member of the Hibernia Lodge, the Luxor Temple, an honorary member of the Royal Order of Jester, Director Staff, the Red Cross of Constantine, Councilor of the DeMolay, an honorary member of the YMCA Y's Men Club, and a member of the Church of St. Andrew and St. David. Donald was outgoing and enjoyed playing Bridge and Auction 45's. Survived by his sons, George (Johanna) of Saint John and Gerald (Susan) of Riverview, NB; his daughter, Carolyn O'Reilly (Patrick) of Rothesay, NB; his sister, Mary Browne; ten grandchildren, Julia, Matthew, Erin and Brent Crawford, Rebecca Spalding, Jaqueline Barriault, Timothy, Michael, Christopher and Jason O'Reilly; seven great-grandchildren; his special companion, Dorothy Carboy; as well as several nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by his brothers, Harold, Gordon and Douglas Crawford and four young sisters.
