Elle était également la mère de feu Jean-Pierre. Les funérailles ont eu lieu le vendredi 23 novembre 2007 à 10h30 en l’église du Christ-Roi d’Amos, suivies de l’inhumation au cimetière du même endroit.

Byrne, James George - The death of James George Byrne of Saint John, beloved husband of Mary Therese (Barry) Byrne, occurred on Sunday, November 18, 2007, at home after a long illness, surrounded by loving family members. Born in Saint John on May 20, 1925, he was the son of James Edward and Lucretia Mary (Rouse) Byrne. George was a Plumbing Contractor, managing his own business for many years until his retirement several years ago. He possessed a unique wit and charm, and an indomitable spirit. George was a friend of Bill W. for more then fifty years and was known for his great generosity toward those in need. He is survived by his children, Mary Byrne, John (Lisa) Byrne, Monica Byrne (Kamal) all of Saint John, and Elizabeth (Malcolm) Byrne-Zwicker of Fredericton; daughter-in-law, Margo Beckwith-Byrne of Saint John; one sister, Lois Nugent of Fredericton and nine grandchildren, Jay, Liam, Sarah, Patrick, Edward, Kristen, Matthew, Lucas, and Alexa; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Patrick Edward (1966) and James George Jr. (2002); and a sister, Beryl Mary Wright (2006). HAGERMAN, GEORGE WILLIAM George W. Hagerman of Barony, NB passed away November 19th, 2007 at Carleton Manor. George was born in Upper Caverhill in 1923, a son of the late Wilson and Edith (Thompson) Hagerman. He volunteered for the armed forces in 1941, serving four years with the North Shore Regiment and was proficient on the shooting range. He began working in Massachusetts, returning to New Brunswick in 1951 to establish a tree-trimming business working for NB Power. George employed many family and friends to man the nine trucks he owned. He later was employed with his skidder in woodswork for Valley Forest. He was a "jack of all trades", being a carpenter, a mechanic and plumber. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, billiards, darts, Yahtzee, crossword puzzles and Auction 45. He owned and enjoyed antique cars, especially convertibles. At home he followed the news by watching the 10 o'clock National and always fell asleep reading the Reader's Digest. George is survived by his wife, Wilma M. (Cunningham) Hagerman; five sons, Robert Forbes (Diana), Fredericton, Tony Forbes, Chelsea, Quebec, Greg Hagerman, Barony, Keith Hagerman (Amy) and Kevin Hagerman (Rose), both of Woodstock; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Liston, Barony and Della White (Ward), Fredericton; two brothers, Harry Hagerman, Temperance Vale and Alfred Hagerman, Campbell Settlement and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Clark, Pearl Carten and infant Pauline and three brothers, Norman, Donald and Harold Hagerman. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. LAFFAN, Sister Mary Jo March 4, 1921 - November 18, 2007 Sister Mary Jo Laffan died peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2007 surrounded by her FCJ Sisters at the age of 86 years. Mary Jo was born in County Limerick, Ireland to Bartholomew and Josephine Laffan. On February 2, 1941 she entered the Society of the Sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus in Broadstairs, Kent, England. After her religious profession she studied at the National University of Ireland, Dublin, and received her B.A. Degree and Higher Diploma in Education. Mary Jo first came to Canada in 1948 and taught for six years in Combermere, ON, and for three years at the St. Mary's Girls' High School in Calgary. She then returned to Ireland where she taught and administered in FCJ Schools for twenty-nine years. Upon her retirement from teaching in 1996, Mary Jo returned to Calgary and was a well-known and much loved presence at the FCJ Christian Life Centre for eleven years, ministering tirelessly in Spiritual Direction, Retreats, and Hospitality. Mary Jo is survived by her sisters, Helen Bermingham and Jeanne Laffan and by her brother Jim, all of Ireland; her sister Dolores Nichol of California; and by several nieces and nephews, her many friends, and by all of her FCJ Sisters. Lillian was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1949 where her family settled on a beet farm near Taber, Alberta. She worked many years as a school bus driver in the city of Calgary before retiring. Lillian enjoyed gardening, reading, collecting recipes and spending time with friends and family. Kathy will best be remembered for her love of her family, friends, crafts, sports, movies and birds. After all is said and done, the only thing that matters is love.
