He believed that knowledge should be passed on to family and others. He used his skills as a master electrician to help make the lives of others better. Cremation has taken place. McMANUS, Arthur “Mac” - In his 76th year on Saturday November 17th, 2007. Predeceased by his loving wife Wynn, Survived by his beloved Tidler, a daughter, 2 grandsons, 6 great-grandchildren and dear friend of Norma. Born in the Isle of Wight, he was a veteran of the Korean War, and a retired school bus driver. Née le 15 avril 1924 à Saint-Isidore, elle était fille de feu Georges Cool et de feu Joséphine Losier. Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux depuis 30 ans, George Parker; une soeur, Mélanie Nolan de New York et de nombreux neveux et nièces spéciaux. Une soeur, Démérise, ainsi que neuf frères: Tiburce, Gilbert, Alfred, Théophane, Jérémie, Alphonse, Hector, Walter et Sylvestre, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. Avant sa retraite, elle a été enseignante pendant 35 ans. Elle faisait partie de la SERF, de l’Université du 3e âge, des Aînés de Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, en plus d’être bénévole à l’Hôpital régional de Campbellton. Ceux et celles qui ont connu Bertha Cool Parker garderont le souvenir d’une brillante éducatrice qui a su concilier vie familiale, carrière et engagement social. Même à l’âge de la retraite, elle a choisi de continuer son implication sociale. Atteinte d’un cancer, elle refuse de s’apitoyer sur son sort, préférant vivre pleinement jusqu’aux derniers moments de sa vie. Elle s’est éteinte doucement à l’hôpital entourée de sa famille. La famille et les amis de Bertha garderont d’elle le souvenir d’une âme fière, capable d’accomplir de grandes choses avec simplicité. He was a talented, highly skilled professional Diamond Drill Specialist. His career led him to different parts of the world and he retired in 1983 from Inco with 28 years of service. He was a man of conviction with a strong work ethic. Clermont was a loyal supporter of our veterans. He was self taught and loved to read. He especially enjoyed his family gatherings, barbecues and his annual partridge hunt. The family wishes to thank the cardiology staff at the Memorial site for their compassion and care. DUFF, Hew Ramsay - passed away peacefully in Halifax NS, on November 14, 2007, at the age of 68. Formerly of Burlington ON, Hew was the son of the late Hew (Duffy) and Helen (Toey) Duff. A graduate of Queen's University and an active volunteer in the Burlington community, Hew was committed to the principles of the Credit Union and Co- operative Movement. He retired in 1993, after 27 years as Senior Vice-President of Human Resources with the CUMIS Group of Burlington, ON. Upon moving to Halifax NS in 1994 Hew was a consultant with KPMG. Hew is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann Marie (Stott); daughter, Elizabeth (Ted) Reading, Victoria BC; son, H. Ramsay Duff (Cathy), Antigonish; sisters-in-law, Jo Ann (David) Vivian (Kingston ON); Mary Jane Chisholm (Ottawa ON); grandchildren, Emma Reading (Victoria BC); Alyson, Elizabeth and Peter Duff (Antigonish NS); nieces and nephews, Ryan Chisholm; Carrie Chisholm (Jon Swann), Ottawa ON; Luke and Katie Marie Vivian, Kingston ON.
