CLIMENHAGE, Elizabeth (Grace) - Peacefully at Port Colborne Hospital on Nov. 17, 2007, in her 101st year, Grace Climenhage of Portal Village and formerly of Fort Erie. Beloved wife of the late Claude Climenhage (1994). Dearly loved mother of Elaine (Ron) Stewart and the late Bob Climenhage (2006). Dearly loved Gram to the late Greg Stewart (2003) and his wife Pei; Lisa (Blair) Anderson and Todd Climenhage (Heather Johnson). Dearest Great Grandma (Gee Gee) to Benjamin and Charles Anderson and Wendy Stewart. Lovingly remembered by her brother Ivan Sheppard and sister-in-law Gladys Climenhage. She will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews and their families. BENNETT, Alexander (Alex) - Passed away peacefully early Saturday morning at Hospice Niagara in his 88th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Ellie (1998). Survived by his brother George and sisters, May, Isabelle and Christina all of Scotland. Also survived by his cousin John and Ann Davis as well as many family members and friends. Alex was a long time employee of the Port Weller Dry Docks, the founding member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 350, and a devoted member of Mary Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church. A special thanks to family friend Sue Lee Sewell for her compassion and kindness over the years. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Hughes, the Oncology staff at the St. Catharaines General Hospital, Dr. Kerley and the staff members of Hospice Niagara for their gracious help and support to Alex. HYMERS, Marjorie Gwendolyn (nee Stewart) - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie Gwendolyn Hymers (nee Stewart) on Friday, November 16th, 2007 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 80. Marjorie will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband of 59 years, Delford Hymers. Dear mother of Lynn and Wayne Gibson and Donna and Brian Hermiston. Nana was loved very much by her grandchildren Jennifer Gibson, Dennis and Melissa Gibson and Amber Hermiston. She was a loving great-grandmother to Morgan and Nicholas. Marjorie was predeceased by her sister Viola Elwood and her brothers Earl Stewart and Douglas Stewart. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law Lily Stewart and close friend Betty Piuni. Marjorie has many nieces and nephews who will miss her. SULLIVAN, James “Jim” - After a brief battle with cancer, Jim peacefully passed away on Friday November 16, 2007 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 51. DAUDELIN, Patrick (Pat) - On Thursday November 15, 2007 at his residence, in his 58th year. Precedeased by parents Yvonne & Archibald Daudelin, and brother Roland (Blackie) Daudelin. Pat worked at the Cotton Mill for many years and then at Filter Fab in St. Catharines, where he retired due to his ill health. He loved motorcycles and camping, most recently he enjoyed doing the crossword puzzles, and talking with people at the Tim Hortons in Port Colborne. Patrick will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was a talented, highly skilled professional Diamond Drill Specialist. His career led him to different parts of the world and he retired in 1983 from Inco with 28 years of service. DUFF, Hew Ramsay - passed away peacefully in Halifax NS, on November 14, 2007, at the age of 68. Formerly of Burlington ON, Hew was the son of the late Hew (Duffy) and Helen (Toey) Duff. A graduate of Queen's University and an active volunteer in the Burlington community, Hew was committed to the principles of the Credit Union and Co- operative Movement. He retired in 1993, after 27 years as Senior Vice-President of Human Resources with the CUMIS Group of Burlington, ON. Upon moving to Halifax NS in 1994 Hew was a consultant with KPMG. Hew is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann Marie (Stott); daughter, Elizabeth (Ted) Reading, Victoria BC; son, H. Donald (Dick) John Sheppard February 02, 1923 - November 15, 2007 On Thursday, November 15, Dick passed away at Concordia Hospital with his family at his side. He was born in London, England on February 2, 1923, the only child of the late Clara and John Sheppard. Dick was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his wife Bernice; daughters Carol Hildebrand (Garry) of Winnipeg and Donna Sheppard (Brian) of Vancouver; granddaughters Karin Hildebrand (London, England) and Krista Siemens (Ian) of Winnipeg. Also, he will be remembered by brother-in-law Reg Smith (Winnipeg); sister-in-laws, Edna Pitman and family (Flint, Michigan) and June Smith and family (Winnipeg); cousin Pamela Dixit (Suresh) and family (Woodstock, Ontario). He is also survived by extended family and friends in Canada and England. Dick served as a navigator in the RAF during World War II, flying on missions in Europe, Burma, India and Africa. During Dick’s RAF training in Manitoba, he met Bernice and they married on September 27, 1947 after his discharge from the service. Dick worked as a machinist at the CNR Transcona shops for 12 years and then joined the Corrections Service in 1959, retiring from Stony Mountain as Assistant Warden in 1986. Dick enjoyed many activities including curling, golfing, running, bowling and tennis. He was a member of the Wartime Pilots and Observers’ Association, the West Kildonan Legion Branch No. 30, the Accident Prevention Association of Manitoba and worked for the Winnipeg Police Community Volunteer Program after his retirement. He will be remembered as a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather, a respected coworker and good friend to many. Cremation has taken place.
