McMANUS, Arthur “Mac” - In his 76th year on Saturday November 17th, 2007. Predeceased by his loving wife Wynn, Survived by his beloved Tidler, a daughter, 2 grandsons, 6 great-grandchildren and dear friend of Norma. Born in the Isle of Wight, he was a veteran of the Korean War, and a retired school bus driver. He was very grateful for a second chance at life when he was the recipient of a double lung transplant in 2000. A Mac's request cremation has taken place. Bertha Cool-Parker Mise à jour le lundi 19 novembre 2007 Par: AP CAMPBELLTON - À l’Hôpital régional de Campbellton, le vendredi 16 novembre 2007, à l’âge de 83 ans, est décédée Bertha Cool-Parker, domiciliée à Atholville. Née le 15 avril 1924 à Saint-Isidore, elle était fille de feu Georges Cool et de feu Joséphine Losier. Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux depuis 30 ans, George Parker; une soeur, Mélanie Nolan de New York et de nombreux neveux et nièces spéciaux. Une soeur, Démérise, ainsi que neuf frères: Tiburce, Gilbert, Alfred, Théophane, Jérémie, Alphonse, Hector, Walter et Sylvestre, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. Avant sa retraite, elle a été enseignante pendant 35 ans. Elle faisait partie de la SERF, de l’Université du 3e âge, des Aînés de Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, en plus d’être bénévole à l’Hôpital régional de Campbellton. Ceux et celles qui ont connu Bertha Cool Parker garderont le souvenir d’une brillante éducatrice qui a su concilier vie familiale, carrière et engagement social. Même à l’âge de la retraite, elle a choisi de continuer son implication sociale. Atteinte d’un cancer, elle refuse de s’apitoyer sur son sort, préférant vivre pleinement jusqu’aux derniers moments de sa vie. Elle s’est éteinte doucement à l’hôpital entourée de sa famille. La famille et les amis de Bertha garderont d’elle le souvenir d’une âme fière, capable d’accomplir de grandes choses avec simplicité. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée au Salon funéraire Maher, 33 rue Lansdowne, à Campbellton. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes d’Atholville, le mardi 20 novembre, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Eugène Côté et de feu dame Hélèna Tremblay, époux de dame Colette Gagnon, demeurant au 950 rue Gauthier Ouest, Alma.
