Dearly loved sister of Gertrude Krock of Belleville. Predeceased by her sister Florence Burton and by her nieces Patricia, Elizabeth and MaryLynn. RISPLER, Bruce Charles 1939 - 2007 Bruce Charles Rispler was born in Caslan, Alberta, and lived and worked in many places throughout the province. He moved to Calgary thirty years ago and established a career in accounting, a profession to which he was well suited. Bruce was a dedicated smoker who loved strong coffee and rich foods. He was an expert at crossword puzzles and enjoyed playing cribbage. He was often a very private man with a dry sense of humour and a stubborn will, but was also a kind man with a boyish charm and a soft spot for children and animals. Our dad died on November 11, 2007, at the age of 68 years. He will be remembered by the many people whose lives he touched, but especially by his three children Kevin, Amanda and Teresa. GREGORY, Gerri Marie (JJ) - Tragically, as the result of an accident, on Wednesday November 14, 2007, at 35 years of age. Devoted mother and friend to Cody and Sasha. SILVEIRA, Manuel 1935 - 2007 Manuel Silveira passed away on November 13, 2007 at the age of 72 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife Maria Lina on July 12, 1988. Manuel is survived by his children, Luis, Lina (Dale) and Jorge; his eight grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Tim, Stacey, Josh, Kim, Candice, and Kevin; and one great-granddaughter Hailey. He is also survived by his brother Antonio of Calgary and his sister Julia of Portugal. Manuel was born in Pico, Azores, Portugal and immigrated to Calgary in 1966 in order to provide his children with a better life. A Prayer Service will be held at PIERSON'S Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue S.E.) on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (44 Street and 16 Avenue S.E.) on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Father Dominic Phamvanbao, OP, Celebrant. SMITH, David Darcy (Thor) November 27, 1966 - November 11, 2007 David Darcy Smith passed away suddenly in his home on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the age of 40 years. He was the beloved husband of Meryl and dear father of Kayla and Aaron. Besides his loving wife and children, Darcy is survived by his father Dave (Helen) Smith; his mother Shirley Sobry; his grandmother Lora Smith; and by his siblings, Bryan Smith (Moe), Denise (Mario) Carmaneiro and their children, Tyler and Nikita, Brad (Stephanie) Thompson and their children, Samantha, Colton and Rowdy; and by Craig Thompson. He will also be lovingly remembered by numerous aunts and uncles, his best friend Scott Reil, his goddaughter Victoria Reil, as well as many dear friends. Darcy was predeceased by his first infant son Michael David on August 14, 1990. CALDER (KIRBY), Roberta "Bobby" Jean Passed away peacefully at home in Ottawa following a battle with aggressive Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, November 15, 2007. Born October 19, 1940, daughter of the late Robert and Jean Calder of Montreal. Survived by her husband and high school sweetheart former Senator Michael Kirby, children Holly Burrell and her son Houston of Calgary, and Andrew Furneaux of Victoria, stepchildren Colleen Kirby of Ottawa, Bruce Kirby of Toronto and Sean Kirby of Halifax. In addition to Houston, grandmother to four other grandchildren Clara, Scott and Ben Edwards of Ottawa and Connor Kirby of Halifax, who will miss her terribly. She will also be deeply missed by her friends and fellow golfers at the Ottawa Hunt Club and the University Park Country Club of Sarasota, Florida. A 1961 nursing graduate of the Montreal General Hospital and the Occupational Health Program of Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton. Bobby spent most of her working life as head of the occupational health department at Pan Canadian Petroleum Ltd. Bobby and Mike give heartfelt thanks to the extremely caring nurses and doctors of the Medical Day Care Unit and the stem cell transplant team at the Ottawa General Hospital as well as Dr. Susan Gick and the nursing care by Paramed.
