BEINTEMA, Jantje-Anna (Jane) née Vanderheide - The Lord called home Jane Beintema in her 89th year. She died peacefully at her home on November 12, 2007, with her family by her side. Born July 4, 1919 in Fervert, Friesland, The Netherlands. Predeceased by her husband Andy in 1995. She is survived by her children Frances (Peter) Voogt, John (Alice) and Janet (Rick) Meloen. Lovingly remembered by Grandchildren Julie Voogt (Alex Christie), Lisa Kouretsos (Petros), Jacqueline Beintema, Brenda Bennett (Late Chris, 2007), Angela Reath (David), Adam Meloen (Suzanne), Hilary Meloen (Nick), Jillian Meloen and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Survived by sisters Freerk, Trien, Anna and brother Wieger in The Netherlands, and brother-in-law Hille. There will be a private family interment at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15 at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church, 4878 Jepson Street, Niagara Falls. AUCOIN, Suzanne Isabelle (B.A., M.R.E., B.Ed) - It is with profound sadness that Janet, Gerald and Brendan mourn the passing of their precious daughter and sister on November 11, 2007 at Hospice Niagara. Suzanne was predeceased by her loving father Norm Aucoin, who passed away earlier this year. She was a special niece to numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Suzanne fought a courageous battle until the very end when she passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side. Special thanks to the many family, friends, members of the community, the physicians and staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, West Seneca Clinic, Roswell Park, and Henderson Hospital. We also thank Hospice Niagara, who eased Suzanne's transition with so much love and support. At Suzanne's request, cremation has taken place. RYDALL, Richard (Dick) - Passed away peacefully at the Grand River Hospital, K-W Health Centre on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the age of 60 years. Beloved husband of Ruth (nee Jack). Loving father of Angela Rydall, Crystal Hogg (David), Shannon Ernest (Michael) and Amanda Rydall (Scott MacDonald). Cherished grandfather of Justin, Logan, Kyle, Nicholas, Ryan, Jacob, Kaylee, and Tyler. Dear brother of John Rydall (Heather), Shirl Silverthorn (Frank) and Patricia Smith (Mervin). Predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Rose Rydall and his sister Edith. Dick was a member of the Durham Kinsman Club, he also served as the past president of the Durham Huskey Senior A Hockey and enjoyed playing slow pitch baseball. He was a volunteer canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society. The service to celebrate Dick's life will be held at the Community of Christ Church (414 Fisher Hallman Dr. Kitchener) on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 2 pm. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred with his parents in the Edge Hill cemetery. HURLEY - Helen (nee Dzendzel) (Milenkoff) Hurley passed away peacefully in her 88th year at the Welland Hospital on Friday, November 9th with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her first husband Robert Milenkoff (1957). Helen will be sadly missed by her husband Al, sons Tim (Lise), Bob (Judi) and Ron and grandchildren Brynn, Eli and Sasha. She was born in Hungary and moved to Canada, growing up in Port Colborne before moving to Welland after she was married. Helen worked in Welland and retired from the Welland Hospital in 1985. She will always be in our hearts, may she rest in peace forever. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive their friends at J.J. MCGOVARIN, Carol Jewel Evangline - On November 9th at Sunnybrook Hospital at the age of 63 after a brief illness and surrounded by her family, Carol went to be with her Lord. Loving wife of Fred, affectionate mother of Sherry, Michael, Annalise, Christine, Julie and their partners and attentive Nana to Christina, Domenico, Destany, Jolon and Melia. Carol will ever be remembered by all her family, many relatives and expanding list of dear friends. Predeceased by sisters Joyce McGregor and Viola Meecham and brothers Harold, Walter and Garth, Carol is survived by sister Shirley McKean and brothers Alfred, Garnet and Eddie who has never ceased to be her special friend. Always deeply involved in church life, Carol spent the last three years with her husband Fred in the Turks and Caicos Islands establishing a Christ centered skills training centre and the island's first home for children. Many friends from the Island treasure her loyal friendship. Né le 30 juin 1938, il était fils de feu William Pinet et de feu Edith B. Branch. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil trois filles: Doreen (Rémi Hachey) de Paquetville, Anne de Caraquet et Judy (Andy Northrup) de Paquetville; un fils, Bobby de Calgary; cinq soeurs: Ethel (feu Ken Ferguson), Winnifred (Antoine Gosselin), Betty (Thomas Cripps), Kathleen (Antonio Doiron) et Patsy (Clarence Savoie); une belle-soeur, Mildred Pinet (feu Billy Pinet); un beau-frère, Rosario Morais (feu Jean); un gendre, Francis Landry; trois petits-enfants: Debbie, Jessica et Tommy, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Trois soeurs: Mary, Edith et Jean, ainsi que deux frères: Billy et Raymond, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. M. Pinet a travaillé comme opérateur de machinerie lourde et 25 années pour le ministère des Transports. La dépouille mortelle de M. Pinet ne sera pas exposée. Theodore Joseph Gregor, MD October 13, 1938 - November 9, 2007 In his 70th year, after a courageous two year battle with cancer, Theodore (Ted) Gregor passed away peacefully in Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Cherished son of Alec and Emma Gregor (deceased) of Sudbury, husband of Margo, father of Jamie and Shawn, brother to Sharon, uncle to Cori and grandfather to six, Ted leaves behind a family that will sorely miss him. After graduating from Queen's University medical school in 1962, he received his specialty certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1968. Perhaps his greatest attribute was his absolute commitment not only to his patients but to helping his colleagues better care for theirs. After delivering thousands of babies, Ted turned his attention to the practice of Occupational Health, making workplaces in Ontario safer for more than two decades. In later years, he became able to enjoy the pleasures of cottaging and golf, though sadly not for long enough. The Gregor family wishes to thank the caring physicians and nurses in Oakville, Orillia and London who so ably cared for Ted. STACKHOUSE, Barbara Anne (RN retired) It is with sadness that the family must announce that after 13 years Barbara has succumbed to cancer. Barbara peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the age of 66 years. Barbara Anne Gaudet was born to the late Anne and Emery Gaudet in Halifax. The Gaudet family moved to Moncton and Barbara graduated from Notre Dame D'Acadie. She returned to Halifax and graduated as an RN in the class of 1962 from the Halifax Infirmary. In Halifax, she married Roy Stackhouse and they moved to Kirkland Lake, Washington and Ottawa. Barbara retired from the Salvation Army Grace Hospital Ottawa after 25 years. Upon retirement she traveled extensively and especially loved cruises and enjoyed family and friends. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Roy of 44 years, her daughter Sheryl (Mark Bates), Marc (Raquel), Kevin (Angie). Devoted grandmother to Michael, Ryan, Andrew, Katelyn, Connor, Matthew and Trevor. Dear sister of Paul (Raymonde). Predeceased by her son Vincent. TROTSCHA, Elisabeth (nee Knab) Peacefully at the Glebe Centre Nursing Home in Ottawa, Elisabeth Trotscha, midwife, wife, mother and grandmother on Saturday, November 10th 2007. Predeceased by her husband George (1977) and her daughter Maria (1945). Survived by her son, Peter, his wife, Ann Gardner, and their daughters, Miriam and Kate. She was born in the Village of Dolatz in Banat, Romania on June 11th 1922. She graduated from the University of Freiburg in midwifery in 1942 and spent the rest of WW II delivering babies in the Romanian province of Banat. She loved being a midwife. In her later years she was a community activist in Toronto and developed a wide circle of friends. Her final years were spent in Ottawa where she devoted her love and energy to her family. At her request there will be no funeral, but only a private cremation. WADE, Gordon Vance Veteran WW II & Korea Peacefully in hospital, Smiths Falls, Ontario on Saturday, November 10, 2007 with his family by his side, at the age of 81. Gord is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lila May Jackson, daughters Linda (late Pete Tompkins), Laurie (late Rick Beach) and son Gordon Stuart Wade (Teresa). Predeceased by son Robert. Gordon was the proud grandfather of Aaron Stuart Tompkins (Janis), Moira Lyn & Catherine Marie Tompkins, Sarah & Sheryl Wade, Glen, Chris, Dave (Stacey) & Jeff Beach (Chantal). Great-Grandpa to Aiden & Noah Tompkins and Noah & Mikayla Beach. Also survived by sisters Gladys Young (late Charles) of London, ON and Kathryn Baillie (Bill) of Thornhill, ON as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gord will be sadly missed by his family and his many, many friends. Grandmother of Emily, Elisabeth, Fraser, Anna, and Mary-Katherine White; Dylan White; Jacynthe and Jaimy White; David, Ashley, and Matthew White; Jacqueline and Alex Fletcher; and Nicholas and Natasha White. Great-grandmother of Nathan White. Sister of Kaye Mahoney and Lloyd Jackson. Predeceased by Joyce Jackson and Jack Jackson. Born and raised in Ottawa, Rita married Art, her childhood sweetheart, in 1951. Together they lived in Ottawa, France, Germany, Moose Jaw, and Trenton (producing a son in each city) while Art was in the Air Force. They settled back in Ottawa in 1964 and added two more children to the family. Rita worked for the NRC, the PCO, and the RCMP. In retirement, Rita and Art enjoyed many years of travel, winters in Florida, lawn bowling, and the Gloucester Seniors' Centre. Dear great grandmother of Faith, Hunter and Haven Dubroy. Eileen is survived by her sisters Elva Francis of Orillia and Vida (Tremaine) Banks of Timmins. Eileen loved to spend time at her lakeside retreat, along with crocheting, bowling making puzzles, swimming and most importantly, playing on the floor with her great grandson. She worked digilently for the OPP, the TB Association, Timmins Stationary and retired after a 25 year career with C.I.B.C. Beloved mother of Kathy DaCosta of Brantford, Terry Sherrard of Toronto. Survived by sister Mary Bartlett of Fredericton, New Brunswick, brother Delbert Harris of Brantford, predeceased by sister Rosella Rutherford and brothers Tommy, Sandy, and Hubert Harris. Audrey graduated from Miramichi School of Nursing in 1946. She was a devoted nurse at the Brantford General Hospital for 35 years, many of those years as a Head Nurse. Audrey was an active member of Balfour Street United Church for over 50 years and served on the Committee of Stewards.
