BEINTEMA, Jantje-Anna (Jane) née Vanderheide - The Lord called home Jane Beintema in her 89th year. She died peacefully at her home on November 12, 2007, with her family by her side. Born July 4, 1919 in Fervert, Friesland, The Netherlands. Predeceased by her husband Andy in 1995. She is survived by her children Frances (Peter) Voogt, John (Alice) and Janet (Rick) Meloen. PERPETE, Stella - It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Stella Perpete on November 8th, 2007 at Pioneer Manor in her 87th year. Predeceased by her dearest husband Frank Perpete. Daughter of the late Henry Picard and Pamela (Royal) of Chapleau, Ontario. Stella will be dearly missed by her loving daughter Beatrice Michael and son George Perpete (wife Betty). Cherished grandmother of Kevin, Steven, Linda and Melissa, and her nine great grandchildren. Stella worked many years for the Ontario Government in the Post Office, Switch Board, and the Grocery Store at the Burwash Correctional Centre until its closing in 1974. She and husband Frank moved to Sudbury in that year where they both retired. Stella loved doing needlepoint and working in her garden at the cottage before tragically losing her eyesight. Shane was born on September 16, 1986 in Calgary and attended Cardinal Newman and Assiniboia Composite High School. He was employed in various occupations in Saskatchewan and Calgary. Shane loved snow-boarding and excelled at it as well. He also loved cars and being fashionable. Shane had many friends in Calgary and Saskatchewan. Besides his loving parents Tammy and Cory, Shane is survived by his brother Christopher and sister Tara-Lynn, all of Calgary. STACKHOUSE, Barbara Anne (RN retired) It is with sadness that the family must announce that after 13 years Barbara has succumbed to cancer. Barbara peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the age of 66 years. Barbara Anne Gaudet was born to the late Anne and Emery Gaudet in Halifax. The Gaudet family moved to Moncton and Barbara graduated from Notre Dame D'Acadie. She returned to Halifax and graduated as an RN in the class of 1962 from the Halifax Infirmary. In Halifax, she married Roy Stackhouse and they moved to Kirkland Lake, Washington and Ottawa. Barbara retired from the Salvation Army Grace Hospital Ottawa after 25 years. Upon retirement she traveled extensively and especially loved cruises and enjoyed family and friends. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Roy of 44 years, her daughter Sheryl (Mark Bates), Marc (Raquel), Kevin (Angie). Devoted grandmother to Michael, Ryan, Andrew, Katelyn, Connor, Matthew and Trevor. Dear sister of Paul (Raymonde). Predeceased by her son Vincent. TROTSCHA, Elisabeth (nee Knab) Peacefully at the Glebe Centre Nursing Home in Ottawa, Elisabeth Trotscha, midwife, wife, mother and grandmother on Saturday, November 10th 2007. Predeceased by her husband George (1977) and her daughter Maria (1945). Survived by her son, Peter, his wife, Ann Gardner, and their daughters, Miriam and Kate. She was born in the Village of Dolatz in Banat, Romania on June 11th 1922. She graduated from the University of Freiburg in midwifery in 1942 and spent the rest of WW II delivering babies in the Romanian province of Banat. She loved being a midwife. In her later years she was a community activist in Toronto and developed a wide circle of friends. Her final years were spent in Ottawa where she devoted her love and energy to her family. At her request there will be no funeral, but only a private cremation. CHALMERS, Robert John June 20, 1928 - November 9, 2007 Robert Chalmers of Millarville took his last ride and passed over November 9, into the loving arms of his wife of fifty-six years, Doreen, who predeceased him on September 20, 2007. He was surrounded in love, in person and in spirit by his children and grandchildren. He will be indescribably missed by his children, Jacqueline (Patrick Lannan) and their children, Jennie and Paden of Claresholm; Donald (Lee), their children, Alex and Lesley of Millarville; Edie (Ben Lowry), their children, Sage, Quillan, Dawson, Riel and Nolan of Elk Point and Millarville; granddaughter Jessica Chalmers of Millarville and her mother Lynn Chalmers of Airdrie; sister Ruth (Gordon Maberley) of High River; brother Hugh (Roxana) of Canon City, Colorado; sister-in-law Joan (Kenny Beattie) of High River, and many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his wife of fifty-six years, Doreen (nee Nichols), his oldest son, Douglas, September 18, 2004, his sister Jean Thomson, brother Jim Chalmers, infant brother Donald and his parents Bertram Chalmers and Grace (McVannel) Chalmers. Robert was born in High River and raised on the family ranch that had been settled in 1917. He attended Sheep Creek School until grade nine but the lure of the ranch brought him home full time. His growing up years were filled with hard work and good times, his work ethic, sense of humour and adventuresome spirit served him well for the duration of his life. Robert and Doreen married on September 22, 1951. They settled on the family ranch where they raised their four children and then basked in the love, attention and energy of their grandchildren. Robert's greatest love was viewing the world from the back of a saddle horse. His greatest gift to his children and grandchildren was instilling that love in them. Robert was a keen and friendly competitor. In 1952 he won the Novice Saddle Bronc at the Calgary Stampede; in 1982 he was champion header for the Century Team Ropers of Canada and over the years was the proud winner of many other team roping competitions. Robert was totally committed to his community and made many significant volunteer contributions over the years including Oilfields General Hospital, board member for over thirty years; he served in executive positions for many of those years; South Sheep Creek Stock Association, secretary-treasurer for decades; Ranchers Hall Board, member for twenty years, chair for five; Millarville Racing and Agricultural Society, active and honourary member for several years; Century Team Ropers of Canada, one of the founders; Old Timers Rodeo Association, member. In 2005 Robert and Doreen were recognized for all their many and varied volunteer and community-building efforts by each being presented in a public ceremony with a medal commemorating Alberta's Centennial. They were proud, appreciative and deserving recipients. Robert and Doreen's lives will be celebrated on Friday, November 16, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at the Millarville Race Track. During the past few months both were provided with loving and compassionate care by their daughter Edie, husband Ben and four of their children; by Dr. Val Congdon and the staff at Oilfields General Hospital as well as a team of Home Care "angels", Nadine, Pauline, Sandy and Wendy. The care was exemplary, our heartfelt thanks and gratitude is immeasurable. GRIGGS, Mary Ann (nee English) - Of Durham, Ontario was born February 1924 in Toronto and died Saturday, November 10, 2007 in Toronto at the age of 83. Survived by her sons, Ian, Andrew and Stephen and their families, including her many grandchildren and her great-grandson. Predeceased by her husbands John H. Griggs and William J. West.
