DEETON, Marian Ann - It is with great sadness that the family of Marian Deeton nee Quackenbush of Edmonton, formerly of Sarnia, announces her passing on Friday November 9th, 2007 at the age of 66. She will be sadly missed by her husband and partner Donald Deeton. Gone but not forgotten by her loving children, Lori and her husband John McEwen of Wyoming, Tracey and her husband John Nowak of Edmonton Alberta, and Debbie (1992). Grandmother to Marian Deeton Jr., Joshua Sean Deeton, William Deeton, Deborah Nowak, Brennen McEwen and the late Gracie (1999). Survived by brother William and sisters Selina, Doreen, Kathy, Debbie and Fran. Predeceased by Donna. Survived by many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Marian's life will be held in the chapel of the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday November 13th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Deanna Gibson officiating. VEINOTTE, (Dorothy) Eileen (nee Beaumont) - October 3, 1922 - November 9, 2007 - Our family announces with sorrow her death on Friday November 9, 2007 at the Timmins and District Hospital, at the great age of 85. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Ray on August 16,1987. Loving mother of Diane Dubroy (Gary) of Timmins. Cherished grandsons Shane (Renee) and Jeffrey of Timmins. Dear great grandmother of Faith, Hunter and Haven Dubroy. Eileen is survived by her sisters Elva Francis of Orillia and Vida (Tremaine) Banks of Timmins. Also survived by her nieces and nephews Alden, Clifford, Norma, Debra, Judy, Robert, Jim, Lee, Shirley, Verna, Jim, Donald, Stanley and Evelyn. Predeceased by her parents Harold (July 22, 1971) and Violet (April 25, 1998) Beaumont and by her brothers-in-law and her sisters-in-law Willard Wainman, Ed Francis, Arthur (Eunice) Veinotte, Chester (Verle) Veinotte and Ruth (Walter) Monck. Eileen loved to spend time at her lakeside retreat, along with crocheting, bowling making puzzles, swimming and most importantly, playing on the floor with her great grandson. She worked digilently for the OPP, the TB Association, Timmins Stationary and retired after a 25 year career with C.I.B.C. BOETTGER, William Thomas Tom Retired Constable Ontario Provincial Police - After a lengthy illness with brain cancer, retired Constable Tom Boettger passed away at his North Bay home on Saturday November 10th, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Cockerline), for 46 years and loving father of Cheryl Atkinson (Gary), Tracey Boettger, (Myles McIssac), brother of Orma Bain (Murray - deceased), Jean Ross (Charles - deceased), Gayl (Garfield); dear son in law of Avice Cockerline (Percy - deceased), brother in law of Barry Cockerline (Carolyn), Dawn Zaversenuke (Michael), uncle to many nieces and nephews and special grandpa to Bo. Tom was the only son of the late William & Lila Boettger, Magnetawan. Following his retirement from the O.P.P. Tom served as a Special Constable with the North Bay Police force for a number of years. Tom's caring ways will always be remembered by his family and friends. The family is very gratefully to Dr. Mike Leckie and the staff of Paramed for the special care given to him. WALSH, Douglas - The Walsh family sadly announces Doug's death at the North Bay General Hospital on Saturday November 10th, 2007 following a brief illness. For the past 56 years Doug was the beloved husband of Alva “Toots“ (Parker) whom he married at Uno Park in 1951. The proud and loving father of Barry of Hamilton, Brenda (Cathy Rennie) of North Bay Michael (Deb) of Ottawa and Tracy of Temiskaming Shores, he will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jason, Randy, Jamie, Kelly, Ryan, Mark, Joshua, Skyler and Melissa and his great grandsons Hunter and Riley. Predeceased by his son Ken, and sister in law Shirley Lamb (late Pat), he will also be sadly missed by his son in law Ron Huard of Temiskaming Shores, brother Norman Taylor of Toronto, and sisters in law Jean Parker and Elsie Josefowich (Dan), both of North Bay. Born in Accrington, England Doug emigrated to Canada with his family at the age of 3. A teacher and educator by profession his teaching career began in New Liskeard in 1949. In 1955 he moved his family to London, Ontario then returned to New Liskeard Secondary in 1964 to become Vice Principal. Doug remained with the Temiskaming Board of Education until his retirement. A dedicated husband and father Doug was happiest puttering around the house or cottage. He enjoyed working with his hands and always had a renovation project on the go. Whether it was wiring, plastering, painting or plumbing he was always there for his family and friends when they needed help with new projects. He dearly loved his Rib Lake cottage and lovingly cared for it over the years. A community minded man he served with the RCAF during the war, and was an active member of 422 Wing, and the Legion. He volunteered with the Canadian Mental Health Association and was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Andrew's United Church. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 pm. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in St. Andrew's United Church on Wednesday November 14th at 11:00 am. Internment of his ashes to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. KORMENDY, Thomas M. (Tom) - A resident of R.R.7 Blenheim, Tom Kormendy passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the age of 52. Born in Chatham, beloved son of Mary (Majek) Kormendy of Blenheim and the late John Kormendy Jr. Predeceased by his wife Diane (Fuller) Kormendy (2004). Father of Rose Kormendy of Welland, Tom Kormendy Jr. of Toronto, and predeceased by infant son Tommy (1974). Also survived by his step-children Jason Levert of Chatham and Shana Levert of Chatham. Tom will also be missed by his sisters Helen Reeves and Tom Hazlett of Blenheim, and Nancy Kormendy and Mark DeLaet of Blenheim. Son-in-law of Gil and Shirley Fuller of Watford, and brother-in-law of Gord Fuller of Petrolia. Uncle of David Reeves, Steven DeLaet, and Sara DeLaet. Tom farmed in Harwich Township for 10 years. VANDERMEER, Joseph “Joe” Henry - a resident of Blenheim, Joe Vandermeer died after a courageous battle as a result of an accident, on Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the London Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 44. Born in Chatham to the late Jocghum & Anna (Wynsma) Vandermeer. Joe is survived by his son Joey, his sister Ruth Sprik, his brothers Bill & Nancy, Mike & Kari, and sister in-law Fran. BENNER, Theresa (nee Leclerc) - On Sunday, November 11, 2007 in the presence of her loving daughters, God called His faithful servant, Theresa to eternal life. She was born on April 24, 1921 in Ottawa, ON. Theresa leaves behind her daughters, Gail Esposito (Carlo) and Lynne Love (Gord) and her grandchildren Christa, David and Melanie Esposito and Tiffany Love. Her husband, Paul, her parents Edmond and Agnes Leclerc, her brothers Gerry (Pierette) and Jean (Jeanne-Rose) predeceased her. Theresa dedicated her life to her husband, her daughters and her Church. WIESNER, TONYA LEE- Tonya Lee Wiesner, (nee Algee), 49, of Central Hampstead, Queens County, New Brunswick and formerly of Newtonville, Kings County, Nova Scotia, passed away November 9, 2007, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Berwick, Nova Scotia, she will always be the beloved daughter of Austin and Erma (McDow) Algee. Besides her parents, she is also survived by her son, Charles Keddy (Rebecca) of Northern Quebec; life-partner, Larry Slipp and his children, Valerie, James and Laura; several special aunts, uncles and many true friends, many of whom traveled from far and near to visit during her illness. Tonya was predeceased by her brother, Austin Mark Algee; maternal grandparents, Lena and Arnold McDow; paternal grandmother, Nellie (Harold) Porter; and paternal grandfather, Alden (Beatrice) Algee. Prior to moving to New Brunswick, she was employed as a Business Manager at the Annapolis Valley Work Activity Center, in Nova Scotia. At the time of her illness she was self-employed as a Business Manager and was very involved with the promotion and marketing of organic farm products with her life-partner. Wherever Tonya resided she became active in community organizations, including Rotary and Lions Clubs and also sat on the Board of the Orchard View Nursing Home and was active in groups concerning women's abuse issues and education of the under-employed. She will be remembered for her welcoming, hospitable nature, her sense of humor, her love of cooking and crafts and being a faithful and true friend. A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. at the Central Hampstead Baptist Church, Central Hampstead, New Brunswick, with Rev. Mark Todd officiating. A celebration of her life will also be held at White's Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Nova Scotia, on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 2:00 P.M., followed by a reception. BARTLETT, MIRIAM ANNE - widow of the late Maurice E. Bartlett passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 10th, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. Miriam Anne was born in 1926 in New Westminster, B.C to the late George and Miriam (Lloyd) Wakeling. Because her mother died at birth, she was raised by her grandmother in London, England, returning to BC at age 6. Anne worked as a nurse, until her husband returned from the Navy. They were married in Grand-Bay in 1945. Anne was a devoted wife and mother; generous, caring, a true friend, unforgettable. She is survived by three daughters, Bronwyn (Scott) Crandall, Megan, and Myfanwy Bree (Michael Gormley); and sons, Rhys and Owen. As well as six grandchildren, George, Judson, Caleb, Wren, Taylor and Hilary; brother, Rev. Lois W. Weldon SACKVILLE, N.B. - Lois Waterson Weldon of Sackville, N.B., passed away suddenly on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. The daughter of the late William G. and Nell Struensee, she spent her childhood in St. Stephen, N.B. While attending Mount Allison University, she met her late husband James Weldon, the love of her life. A warm, caring and vibrant wife and mother, her highest priority was ensuring a healthy and happy home for her husband and children. She had many interests through the years: I.O.D.E., volunteering, golf, curling, auction sales, traveling, reading, crossword puzzles and bridge. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and was delighted to have a great- granddaughter. Daniel Wayne Adams Peacefully in the early morning hours of November 11, 2007, with his family at his side, Dan passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 63 years. Daniel is survived by his wife Lynore, sons Richard (Colleen), Steven (Jennifer), James, grandchildren Keeana, Carson, Mia, and Logan. Daniel was predeceased by his parents. Daniel worked at CNR for 28 years and just recently retired. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and family. The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion during his stay. JENKIN, Lois Alice - In loving memory of Lois Alice Jenkin. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Lois Alice Jenkin (Montgomery) announce her passing on Friday, November 9th, 2007 in Sudbury Memorial Hospital (cardiac unit) at the age of 79. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years Roy, sister Elizabeth (Bette Lussier), children Peter (Linda), David, Ann (Douglas Peterpiece), and grandsons Chad and Ryan. Lois is predeceased by her parents John and May Mongomery and her brother Eugene (Monty) Montgomery. Lois was a most giving and caring person spending her career life as a nurse at St. Mary's hospital and finally ending her career at the Golden Manor. Anyone having the opportunity to meet her always left with a warm, cared for feeling. The focal point of Lois's life was her family. They were her greatest joy, and she theirs. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and caring second to none. SHERRARD, Audrey Marion - Peacefully in the gentle care of the Stedman Community Hospice on Friday, November 9, 2007 in her 84th year, Audrey Marion Sherrard, beloved wife of the late Clarence Sherrard. Beloved mother of Kathy DaCosta of Brantford, Terry Sherrard of Toronto. Survived by sister Mary Bartlett of Fredericton, New Brunswick, brother Delbert Harris of Brantford, predeceased by sister Rosella Rutherford and brothers Tommy, Sandy, and Hubert Harris. Audrey graduated from Miramichi School of Nursing in 1946. She was a devoted nurse at the Brantford General Hospital for 35 years, many of those years as a Head Nurse. Audrey was an active member of Balfour Street United Church for over 50 years and served on the Committee of Stewards. DAVID, M. Victor 1941-2007 «Le deuil de Victor sera plus lourd à vivre, parce qu'il nous sera impossible de lui dire adieu...» Pour Huguette et sa famille, le respect du choix de Victor de partir dans le silence devra être plus fort que la peine engendrée par son cruel départ. Aucune cérémonie, ni rencontre n'auront lieu pour souligner l'événement. Victor n'a jamais réalisé à quel point il était important dans la vie de ses proches parents et amis. Sa longue maladie avait pris trop de place. Son regain de vie des derniers mois n'était en fait que son chant du cygne. Nous chérirons tous secrètement les souvenirs qu'il a laissés en nous. L'attente des retrouvailles sera trop longue, mais un jour viendra où nous pourrons le retrouver. Victor David est décédé au Centre Hospitalier de Granby, à l'âge de 66 ans et 4 mois, le 7 novembre 2007.
