MAYNARD, Elva - The family announces with deep sorrow her passing at her residence, Nipissing Manor, Corbeil, on October 29, 2007, at the age of 88. Daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Robinson, Elva was born in Sudbury. She grew up in Sudbury and married the late Albert Maynard, in 1940. They lived in Sudbury for many years where Albert spent most of his working life employed by Inco Ltd. They moved to North Bay after his retirement in 1972. Elva Maynard was enthusiastically involved in her younger years in the Girl Guide movement in Sudbury and was a district commissioner for that organization. She was an active member of St. Mark's United Church, Sudbury. She was an avid bridge player, an interest she retained after moving to North Bay. Elva was also a member of the Canadian Club of North Bay. In prior years, she enjoyed many trips and excursions organized by the club within Canada and abroad. Elva Maynard is survived by her daughters Sue Duffy (husband John) of Mississauga; Dee Sullivan (husband Frank) of Waterloo, Ont. and Carol Bowdidge (husband Nick) of Val Caron. One son, David, predeceased. She also leaves one brother, John, of Burlington. One brother and one sister predeceased. She leaves seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Nipissing Manor, Corbeil, Ont., on Wednesday, November 14, at 2:30 pm. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the management and staff of Nipissing Manor for their unfailing kindness and care extended to Elva during her seven years in residence. RUSSELL, Edgar (ED) James Anthony - Passed away in Cranbrook, BC on October 12, 2007 at the age of 60 years. Ed is survived by his loving wife Heather, daughter Susan of Calgary, mother Jewel of Cranbrook, brother John (Susan) of Whitehorse, Yukon, special friends Allan Fillmore, Bill and Sandra Post, Randy Belway. Al Hassen, many nieces and nephews and friends will miss Ed. Ed was born July 12, 1947 in Campbellford, Ontario. He graduated from Sir Sandford Flemming College Natural Resources School in 1971 and worked for a number of years as a conservation officer in Espanola, Ontario. Later he moved to the Yukon for ten years where he worked to achieve the rank of Chief Conservation Officer. Six years were spent in Penticton as a fisheries technician. Then Ed moved to Cranbrook in 1993 where he finished his career, as an administrator for Ktunaxa/Kinbasket Development Corp. Ed was a great outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, classic cars, horseback riding and his annual cattle branding trip. Ed also had many interests including Gold Creek Coffee Club, Southeast Mopar Owners Group, East Kootenay Hunting Opportunities Committee, and the East Kootenay Antiques and Classic Auto Club. Survived by his wife June (nee McCrossan) Gray, children Helen (Dave) Holt of RR 3 Chesley, Christine Gray (Mike Hill) of RR 3 Paisley, Dave Jr. (Christine ) Gray of Hanover, adoptive son and daughter Robert and Tanna Albert of Hanover, grandchildren Katie, Andrea, Ronald, Dylan, Darren, Michael, Jonathan, Christina, Jennifer, Devin, Alexandrea, Mackenzie and Robyn and Granny McCrossan. Also survived by brothers Ken "Chiefy" Gray, Bill (Colleen) Gray, Reg "Beaner" Gray, John "Chopper" (Fran) Gray, Don Brown, sisters Pat (Bill) McIntosh, Sophia Gray (Jeff), Nancy Gowing, Betty Gray, Aunt Theresa and 18 nieces and nephews. GREEN,BERNARD L. - Bernard L. Green (89) of Grand Manan Island passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home November 8, 2007. He was the son of the late Chester and Minnie (Randall) Green. Bernard served in action in the Canadian Army in Europe during the Second World War in the Carleton York Regiment. When he returned home to the Island following the war, he and his wife, Arleen lived quietly enjoying the simple things in life and brought up their family together. He worked first as a fisherman and later as a skilled carpenter. He was a dedicated member of the Grand Harbour Baptist Church, and also a hard working member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 44 where he will be sadly missed. He is survived by one daughter, Cheryl (Barry) Russell of White Head Island; two sons, Paul (Charlene) Green, Byron (Darlene) Green both of Grand Harbour; eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Arleen in 2006; also three sisters, Margaret Leavitt, Elizabeth Walker, Winnifred Badger; and one brother, Edison. Roy Jensen 1915-2007 Roy S.K Jensen passed away peacefully in QEII Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at age 91. Born in Belleoram, Nfld, he was the youngest son of Stanley and Agnes ( Rose) Jensen. He is survived by his sons, Lyndon ( Barbara), New Minas; Ron (Shirley), Riverview, N.B., five grand-children and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Marion (Milley) Jensen; brothers Abraham and Allan; sisters, Dorothy "Doll", Agnes, Olive and Queena. He is also survived by his life companion, Roma Aiken, Halifax. A graduate of Memorial Dalhousie and Saint Mary's universities, Roy was a well-known teacher and principal of various schools in the Halifax area. He was an active member of St. Matthias Church, both as a warden and a member of the anglican synod. Known by his family and friends as an avid gardener, carpenter, musician and storyteller, Roy will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation was held Monday, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, in J.A. Rosalyn is survived by her husband Melvin, two sons, Jason Tims and his wife Karen of Fredericton, NB, and Shawn Tims and his wife Jolene of Tracy, NB and one sister Shelley King and her husband Jerry of Palm Coast, Florida. The funeral service will take place on Friday, November 9th, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel with Rabbi Kenneth Zisook officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service in the Sgoolai Israel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Né à Fairisle le 7 novembre 1922, il était fils de feu Jean-Baptist Comeau et de feu Françoise Breau. Il laisse dans le deuil un fils, Daniel (Susan) Jackson; une soeur, Anna de Fairisle; trois frères: Léandre (Martha) de Toronto, Isidore (Thérèse) et Gérard (Gemma) de Fairisle; la mère de ses enfants, Eliana de Toronto; trois petits-enfants: Gage, Alvery et Lyndsay, ainsi que plusieurs belles-soeurs, beaux-frères, cousins, cousines, neveux et nièces. Une fille, Florentine; un fils, Jean; trois frères: André, Alphonse et Georges, ainsi que six soeurs: Lina, Louise, Angelique, Mélanie "Mai", Beatrice et Olive en bas âge, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. L’inhumation des cendres se fera au cimetière paroissial Saint-Bernard de Néguac à une date ultérieure.
