NELSON, Mr. Dale Bud (Retired Fire Chief Michipicoten Volunteer Fire Dept., Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 429, Wawa, Member of the Woodland Masonic Lodge) - Suddenly at his home on Friday, November 2, 2007, Bud, beloved husband of Isabel, loving father of Lori of Sault Ste. Marie, and Joni Nelson (Tony DeAgazio) of Thunder Bay. Grampa of Ellen and Benjamin, special grampa of Joshua and Nicole. Bud was predeceased by his parents Albert and Ella Nelson, his brothers Sheldon and Ross Nelson. He is survived by his aunt Leslie Nelson, sisters in law Helen Nelson and Pearl Lemay, brother in law Douglas (Chris) MacAulay, sister in law Lynn MacAulay (Gord Pearce). He will be sadly missed by his many cousins, nephews and nieces, especially his niece Shelleen, and by his many friends, colleagues, and the many volunteer organizations he assisted over the years most recent being the Meals on Wheels program in Wawa. John was a member of the Rotary Club of Ottawa (and was a recipient of the Paul Harris award), member of the 78th Fraser Highlanders, O.X.A. and the Barbershop Chorus of Ottawa for many years. MAYO, Phyllis Madeline Annie (nee Magladry) (Retired from Canadian Transport Commission, The Rehabilitation Institute, Bank of Canada.) Peacefully on November 3, 2007, secure in her faith in everlasting life. A dynamo into her 85th year, she is deeply missed by her cherished daughter Colleen, devoted son-in-law David Pankhurst, treasured granddaughters Victoria (Glenn Scott) and Natasha, brother Mib, sisters-in-law Edie and Kaye, many nieces and nephews. Remembered in thanksgiving for her unconditional love, quiet compassion, humble service, constant friendship, quick wit, fun-loving nature, radiant smile, unshakeable integrity, and pride in her family; she confronted prejudice, championed the rights of animals, and upheld the dignity of the mentally and physically challenged before it became common to do so. Phyllis had been an active member of Hazel Rebekah Lodge #40, Stardusters Square Dance Club, St. Matthew's Altar Guild and Sunday School. Born in Saint John on February 6, 1952, she was the daughter of Myrna (Jackson) Melvin of Moncton and the late Harold Melvin. Joanne was an active member of First United Pentecostal Church and was a member of the choir for 13 years. She enjoyed her ministry of visiting the sick and shut ins at hospitals, nursing homes and CentraCare. Besides her mother, Myrna (Gordon McNulty), she is survived by one son, Scott Shillington (Cheryl) of Grand Bay-Westfield; four brothers, Brian Melvin (Barb) of Beaver Harbour, Danny Melvin of Moncton, Hal Melvin of Saint John and Christopher Melvin (Brenda) of Prince of Wales; one sister, Cathy Melvin of Moncton; two grandchildren, Samantha and Nicholas Shillington; several nieces and nephews. McGRATH, SHELDON GLENWOOD - Passed away unexpectedly at his residence, in Quispamsis, on Saturday, November 3, 2007. He was the son of the late Warren and Adeline McGrath and the loving husband of 58 years to Elva (Chetley) McGrath. Growing up, he enjoyed the guitar and the mouth organ. Sheldon was employed for many years with C.N. and C.P. He was a Quarter Master on the Princess Helene and Princess Acadia, retiring in July of 1981 after 35 years of service. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his wife, he is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Tom McGrath. Chester Wheaton WHEATON SETTLEMENT, NB - Chester Havelock Wheaton, 84, of Wheaton Settlement passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 at home. Born in Wheaton Settlement he was a son of the late Fred and Stella (Geldart) Wheaton. Chester worked for many years at the former Lounsbury's Furniture in Petitcodiac and retired from the Department of Transportation. He was a member and Past Master of the Steven Lodge No. 37 F&AM, Petitcodiac, a member of the Shrinners and the Ivanhoe and Walton York Rite. He was also a member of the Frank H. Tingley Chapter of the Eastern Star. Survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Alice (nee Jones); daughters, Brenda Armstrong (Wayne) of Petitcodiac, Barbara MacCallum (Ivan) of Rockyford A.B., Sandra Wheaton (Victor Cox) of Intervale; grandchildren, Pam Eleniak, Dani Wheaton, Becki Wheaton and Peter MacCallum; great grandchildren, Alicen, Sheldon, Blake and Cameron; and several nieces and nephews. McCOY, LEORA MAUDE (CURTIS) A gracious woman who retained honor. She left her family a greater inheritance than wealth could ever obtain, "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above Rubies". She left a Christian foundation on which to build our futures. When we were sick, she prayed, When we were in trouble, she prayed, When we were upset, she prayed, When someone done us wrong, she prayed. She opened her mouth in skillful and Godly wisdom and on her tongue was the law of kindness; she stretched out her hand to the poor. Her children rise up and call her Blessed. Born and raised in Grey Rapids on the Miramichi, she left home as a young lady at the age of 19 to move to Fredericton where she and Donald became husband and wife. HOVEY, RONALD EDWARD The passing of Ronald Edward Hovey, of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Ethel Marion (Skidmore) Hovey, occurred on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 24, 1924, in Devon, NB, he was the son of the late Merlin and Minnie Olive (McKeil) Hovey. Ronald was a graduate of Fredericton High School, class of 1941. Following high school, he was hired by CIBC and also joined the Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve. Ronald served in Halifax from 1943 until the end of the war. In 1945 he returned to the CIBC until his retirement in 1983. Ronald is survived by two sisters, Mabel Sloat and Winnifred McSorley both of Fredericton, NB; along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Ronald was predeceased by one sister, Helen Howe. As well as his wife, Russell is survived by his sons, Derrick (Nancy) and their daughters, Rhonda, Katie-Jo and Shelby, Chipman and Clifton (Kim) and sons, Aaron and Sheldon, Minto; also surviving are two brothers, Sterling (Lydia) of Burtts Corner and Calvin Jr. (Janet) of Minto; and sister, Linda (Beverly) Smith of Minto; one aunt, Mrs. Ruth Drost, Fredericton; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Annie McAllister, Minto; sister-in-law, Marianne Lewis, Toronto; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins; and a wide circle of friends. He was predeceased by his parents; an infant daughter, Rhonda; and an infant son, Russell Jr.; his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Blakeney; father-in-law, Harry McAllister. The family will receive visitors at the Minto Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Clifford "Cliff" Alexander Crosbie July 10, 1911 - November 05, 2007 Born July 10, 1911 in Sarnia, Ontario, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Villa, Dundas, Ontario on Monday, November 5, 2007. Predeceased by his beloved wife of sixty seven years Edith (nee Bird). Cliff will be sadly missed by his children Donald (Carol), Douglas (Nancy), Frances DeLallo (John deceased), Margaret Needham (Perry) and his ten grandchildren Paul, David, Ian Crosbie, Jeffrey, Tahra, Kimberly DeLallo, Susan, Scott Crosbie, Shawn and Erin Needham and by his loving great grandchildren. Martin fut élu député du comté de Montcalm à l’Assemblée législative de la province de Québec, de 1962 à 1966. Il a aussi été président d’élection pour les comtés Joliette-Montcalm de 1973 à 1978. Gérard Martin a agi en tant que maire de Saint-Esprit de 1992 à 1996 et fut courtier d’assurances de 1965 à 1982. M. Martin sera exposé le lundi 5 novembre, de 19 h à 22 h, à la Résidence funéraire André Légaré située au 16, rue Saint-Louis à Saint-Esprit.
