MAYO, Phyllis Madeline Annie (nee Magladry) (Retired from Canadian Transport Commission, The Rehabilitation Institute, Bank of Canada.) Peacefully on November 3, 2007, secure in her faith in everlasting life. A dynamo into her 85th year, she is deeply missed by her cherished daughter Colleen, devoted son-in-law David Pankhurst, treasured granddaughters Victoria (Glenn Scott) and Natasha, brother Mib, sisters-in-law Edie and Kaye, many nieces and nephews. Remembered in thanksgiving for her unconditional love, quiet compassion, humble service, constant friendship, quick wit, fun-loving nature, radiant smile, unshakeable integrity, and pride in her family; she confronted prejudice, championed the rights of animals, and upheld the dignity of the mentally and physically challenged before it became common to do so. Phyllis had been an active member of Hazel Rebekah Lodge #40, Stardusters Square Dance Club, St. Matthew's Altar Guild and Sunday School. Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband Percy "Bud", parents Charles and Emma (Navan, Ontario), brothers Earl and Eric, best friends Ethel Hamilton and Audrey Miller. McCOY, LEORA MAUDE (CURTIS) A gracious woman who retained honor. She left her family a greater inheritance than wealth could ever obtain, "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above Rubies". She left a Christian foundation on which to build our futures. When we were sick, she prayed, When we were in trouble, she prayed, When we were upset, she prayed, When someone done us wrong, she prayed. She opened her mouth in skillful and Godly wisdom and on her tongue was the law of kindness; she stretched out her hand to the poor. Her children rise up and call her Blessed. Born and raised in Grey Rapids on the Miramichi, she left home as a young lady at the age of 19 to move to Fredericton where she and Donald became husband and wife. Now it is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our Dearly Beloved Mother, Leora Maude McCoy (Curtis) at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on November 3rd, 2007. Born May 14th, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Howard David and Violet (Smallwood) Curtis. SEELY, MARY E. - The death of Mary Evelyn (Cosman) Seely, of Upper Golden Grove, wife of the late Howard J. Seely, occurred on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth, NS, she was a daughter of the late James and Rose Ann (Smith) Cosman. Evelyn owned and operated Eve's Canteen in Hunter Lake for many years. She was a member of Glenview United Church. She is survived by four sons, Alan Robicheau (Carol Penny) of Upper Golden Grove, NB, Leslie (Dorothy) Robichaud of Bear River, NS, John (Mavis) Robichaud of Hunter Lake, NB, and Grant Seely of Hamilton, ON; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Fred and Murray; and two sisters, Rita and Agnus. MASCHI, Cesare - Surrounded by the love of his family and in the loving care of the staff of Rideaucrest Home, Cesare Maschi died peacefully on November 3, 2007. Born in Bettola, Italy in 1922, Cesare lived a rich and full life. He immigrated to Canada in 1951 after serving in WWII as a Partisan Freedom Fighter. In 1952 he married Adele Armani and raised a family of 3 daughters Anna (Michael Walsh), Clare (Michael Popovich) and Cesarina (Ces) (Vince Kidd). He loved his family and was a wonderful Nonno to his grandchildren Sarah, Laura and Angela Walsh, Mark, Michael and Lauren Kidd and Michael Popovich. Cesare worked hard until his retirement at age 65 in the cement and tile industry with Spada Tile. His passions included wine making, gardening and small game hunting. Cesare was predeceased by his brother Ugo and sister Chiara and will be greatly missed by his brother Celso (Anna) Maschi, his sister- in-law Carla Maschi and best friend Carlo Delonghi and their families and many nieces and nephews. Chester Wheaton WHEATON SETTLEMENT, NB - Chester Havelock Wheaton, 84, of Wheaton Settlement passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 at home. Born in Wheaton Settlement he was a son of the late Fred and Stella (Geldart) Wheaton. Chester worked for many years at the former Lounsbury's Furniture in Petitcodiac and retired from the Department of Transportation. Daniel Louis "Dan" Gallant 1985 - 2007 KINGSTON, NS - Daniel Louis "Dan" Gallant, 22, of Kingston, NS, passed away due to a tragic car accident on Wednesday, October 31, 2007. He was the beloved son of Louis and Patricia "Trish" (Spencer) Gallant. Born in Middleton, NS on January 21, 1985, Dan attended school in the Greenwood area. He spent five years in Panama City, Florida where he graduated from Mosley High School in 2003. He was working at Convergys at the time of his death. Dan is survived by his devoted sister, Laura Gallant, Halifax; grandparents, Hubie and Greg Barr, Moncton, NB; Laura Spencer, Barrie, ON; great grandparents, Freda and Lawrence Croft, Gaspereau. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who will all miss him dearly. He was predeceased by grandfathers, Frank Spencer and Arthur Gallant. Dan was a humorist and we request that you should wear red in his memory as that was his favorite color. Dan enjoyed reading his Manga magazines and playing video games with his many friends. HOVEY, RONALD EDWARD The passing of Ronald Edward Hovey, of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Ethel Marion (Skidmore) Hovey, occurred on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 24, 1924, in Devon, NB, he was the son of the late Merlin and Minnie Olive (McKeil) Hovey. Ronald was a graduate of Fredericton High School, class of 1941. Following high school, he was hired by CIBC and also joined the Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve. Ronald served in Halifax from 1943 until the end of the war. In 1945 he returned to the CIBC until his retirement in 1983. Ronald is survived by two sisters, Mabel Sloat and Winnifred McSorley both of Fredericton, NB; along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Ronald was predeceased by one sister, Helen Howe. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Monday, November 5, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. DROST, RUSSELL ALLEN Russell Drost ("Honky"), of Midland, Queens County, Husband of Dianne (McAllister) Drost, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton on Sunday, November 4, 2007. He was born in Rothwell, Queens County, on August 20, 1940, the son of the late Calvin and Elizabeth (Kincade) Drost. Russell was a driver for Sunbury Transport for many years, and for the last several years, worked with Vernon Bishop Towing in Chipman. As well as his wife, Russell is survived by his sons, Derrick (Nancy) and their daughters, Rhonda, Katie-Jo and Shelby, Chipman and Clifton (Kim) and sons, Aaron and Sheldon, Minto; also surviving are two brothers, Sterling (Lydia) of Burtts Corner and Calvin Jr. (Janet) of Minto; and sister, Linda (Beverly) Smith of Minto; one aunt, Mrs. Ruth Drost, Fredericton; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Annie McAllister, Minto; sister-in-law, Marianne Lewis, Toronto; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins; and a wide circle of friends. He was predeceased by his parents; an infant daughter, Rhonda; and an infant son, Russell Jr.; his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Blakeney; father-in-law, Harry McAllister.
