LANDREVILLE, Michael Joseph 1983 - 2007 Michael Landreville passed away October 27, 2007 at the Foothills Hospital at the age of 24 years. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother Terri Landreville (Peter McPherson) of Calgary; his father Brian Landreville (Debbie Breitkreuz) of Edmonton; his sister Heather Landreville (Stephen Baker) of Innisfail; a nephew Lucas; grandparents Pat and Keith Guertin; his friend and caregiver Myrna Dayan; and many other relatives and friends. Michael was predeceased by his grandparents Robert and Eileen Landreville. Michael bravely lived his difficult life with love and happiness. He enjoyed music and food, and especially spending time with friends and family. His wonderful and innocent life touched many hearts. Funeral Services will be held at PIERSON'S Garden of Peace Chapel, 16 Avenue and Garden Road N.E. PATERSON, Elena Virginia (Ginny) October 9, 1943 - October 26, 2007 Following a birthday surrounded by her family and secure in their love, Ginny passed away peacefully at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary. Devoted wife of 38 years to the late G. Gordon Paterson, Jr. (Pat), caring mother to Scott (Tamara), James (Nella), John, Linda and David (Allison), and adoring grandmother to Tessa and Natalia (James), and Adeline, Catherine, Jack, and Odessa (Scott). Dear daughter of Elena and the late Lionel Dent, sister to the late Karen (Wilf), Linda, Robert, Jennifer, James and Gordon. She will be fondly remembered by Pat's mother, June, his brother, John (Janice) and sister, Barbara (Simon), as well as Jennifer Rendall and her many other nieces, nephews and cousins. (Ruth) Eva Duncan Lewis 1917 - 2007 LEWIS MOUNTAIN, NB - Eva Lewis, 89, of Lewis Mountain passed away, at the Moncton Hospital after a lengthy stay since, February 2007. She had many artificial joints, and was affectionately called the "Bionic Woman." Born in Lewis Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Keenie Duncan and Lela Louise Ripley. She was a member of the Lewis Mountain Baptist Church, lifetime member of the Women's' Institute. Over the years, not only was she a homemaker raising children but she worked outside the home. She had been previously employed at Magnetic Hill as a cook and waitress, CNIB as a cook, Spencers, Salisbury Road, housekeeper for Isadore Fine. In 1941-42 she looked after the farm while her husband was working in Labrador. She was a strong-willed person, loved people, visiting, meeting new people, quilting, knitting, sewing, cooking, watching her favorite TV shows. She was always up-to-date with the news and politics, watching the elections very carefully. A few Doctors have her home knit socks and many of her quilts and afghans are all over the country. She would sometimes knit while her eyes were shut and still have a masterpiece. She was never too busy to take time and talk. Always loved and worried about her children and families. We had a grand 89th family birthday gathering at her home December 2006. She loved every minute. She enjoyed listening to music, also. She always had a craving for sweets and chocolate bars. Around her knitting chair, you would always find little piles of crumbs and bits of yarn. She spent many hours collecting poems, loved to do word search books, call her friends and enjoyed a visit from all. Her memory of olden days and people was remarkable-she knew everyone and would reminisce a lot. She even loved a good joke or two and could always repeat them correctly. She is survived by three daughters, Caroline (Bob MacKenzie), Riverview, Mary (Salisbury), Donna (late Douglas Lewis), Lewis Mountain; three sons, Gerald (Riverview), Frank (Phyllis Hall), Swift Current, Sask, and Douglas Lewis (Verna Hayden), Lewis Mountain; three sisters, Freda (late Don Steeves), Moncton, Mona (late Cecil Smith), Newfoundland, Martha (late Merrille Simmons), Rexton NB; three brothers, Roy (Emily) Edmonton, Alberta, Walter (Verda) Kelowna, BC. And Delbert (late Evelyn), Port Elgin. Also survived by, 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Willett Lewis (1983); and daughter, Nancy (Pete) Lewis (2002); brothers, Ernest, Morley, Ormond, Wendell, Thornton, Raymond and Robert. She will be sadly missed by all families and many friends. She was a wonderful kind lady, mother and friend. Her memories will be with us forever. She was one of a kind! Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Monday, October 29th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. HALL, Anthony V. 1920 - 2007 Unexpectedly, on Friday, October 26, 2007, in hospital surrounded by his loving family. Tony was the beloved husband of Laurel (Argue), cherished father of Diana and Jana (Del MacMillan), devoted grandfather and special friend of Nancy (Chad Mariage). Dear brother-in-law of Ruth (Argue). For the past 10 months, Jana and Del were privileged to have Tony in their family home, with Nancy as his wonderful caregiver. Laurel, Diana, Del, Ruth, Chad and Lynne were always willing to lend a helping hand. Tony served in the Royal Air Force during World War II in England and Phoenix, Arizona, where he met and married Laurel in 1944. After immigrating to Canada in 1947, Tony worked for the Department of National Defence and the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada. On retirement, he founded the Ottawa Valley Clock Service, repairing and restoring antique clocks. Tony was widely known as the "Tic Toc Doc". He was a long-time member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc. Many thanks to Avan and Cecilia for their loving care. Special thanks to Dr. Barry Bruce for his extraordinary care and to the West Carleton Medical Centre staff for their kindness. WAGGOOD, Lois Eleanor October 26, 1933 - October 28, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois Eleanor Waggood (nee Shunamon) on October 28, 2007 at the age of 74 years. Lois was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and did most of her schooling in Calgary, along with her sister Marjorie Schmidt (Arnold) and brother Garth Shunamon (Charlotte). Lois married William James Waggood in May of 1951 and the two settled in Calgary where Lois would continue to reside. Lois touched many lives over the years with her big heart and welcoming presence. Nan, as she was known to so many, had a large group of family, friends, and acquaintances all of which she found room for in her heart. As a mother of five and grandmother of seven, Lois always kept busy. Lois sold Avon for over thirty years and was always a proud member of the President's Club. For over fifteen years Lois helped to welcome and serve guests at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. Besides her many family and friends, what Lois loved most was Mara Lake. She enjoyed some of her happiest moments there, taking in the sun with the people closest to her, riding in the boat, rafting or cooking fresh trout for the family. Lois will be missed by her three daughters, Cheryl Forrest (Rob), Judy Kelly, Susan Matthews (David), and their children, Jeremy Matthews (Angela), Jason Matthews (Ashley), Jeffery Kelly and Megan Kelly; her sons, David Waggood (Sharon), Clayton Waggood (Margery) and their children, Krista Reese (Kyle), Rhianne Waggood and Nicholas Waggood (Angela); and three great-grandchildren. She will also be dearly missed by William Waggood. BOES, Arnold A. - It is with sadness the family of Arnold's announce his death on Sunday, October 28th, 2007 at the Trenton Memorial Hospital, in his 84th year. McCARTHY, Martin Joseph - In loving memory of Martin Joseph McCarthy, 75 years of Sudbury, who passed away Sunday, October 28th, 2007 at St. Joseph's Villa, Sudbury. He was born in Waterford, Ireland and married Sheila (Murphy) in Lindsay. A well respected and successful self employed salesman Martin was a devout Roman Catholic who faithfully attended mass. He was past president of the Irish Heritage Club; he attended the Open Door Club; and he was a long time supporter of the Sudbury Wolves hockey team. He had a great affinity for horses owning standard bred racing horses and enjoying the camaraderie and excitement at the racing track. He will be remembered as a kind and fun loving man who was devoted to his loving family, especially his precious grandchildren who fondly called him “Ba“. In celebration of his proud Irish heritage it is the prayer of his family and friends - “And until we meet again, Martin, May God hold you in the palm of His hand“. Beloved husband of Sheila (Murphy) McCarthy predeceased 2005. Loving father of Mary Brigid McCarthy and Barbara Anne McCarthy both of Toronto, and Katie Sanders (husband John) of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Timothy and Connor. Dear son of Martin and Maggie McCarthy predeceased.
