PHÉNIX, Gilbert 1913-2007 Au Centre hospitalier Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci de Montréal, le 21 octobre 2007, à l'âge de 94 ans, s'est éteint paisiblement Gilbert Phénix. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Anastasie Ménard, ses enfants Yvan (Sylvie Cloutier), Ghislaine, Rémi, Réal (Lison Hancock), Francine (Jacques Pépin), Doris (Hélène Lafontaine), Louise (Roch Cloutier), Diane (Gilbert De Tilly), six petits-enfants, trois arrière-petits-enfants, son frère Hervé, beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, neveux, nièces et autres parents et amis. La famille recevra les condoléances le mercredi 24 octobre de 14 à 17 heures et de 19 à 22 heures, aux: 530 4e RUE, IBERVILLE. Funérailles le jeudi 25 octobre à 11 heures, en l'église St-Sébastien. Inhumation à St-Sébastien. Jeudi, ouverture à 9 heures, départ 10 h 15. Des dons à la Société Alzheimer du Haut-Richelieu seraient appréciés, en sa mémoire.

LECLAIR, Ida (nee St. Jules) - of Espanola passed away suddenly on October 21, 2007 in the Blind River Hospital at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence (1991). Loving mother of Fred (Patricia) of Ottawa, Ted (Willa) of Sault Ste. Marie, Linda (Bernardo Cocchiola) of Sault Ste. Marie, Dan (Helene) of Sault Ste. Marie, Denise (Richard Bona) of Sudbury, Rene (Theresa) of Sault Ste. Marie, Roland (Gwen) of Espanola, Marcel (Kelly) of Espanola, Larry of Espanola, the late Armand (1999) (Brenda), the late Maurice (2006). Cherished grandmother of 22 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren. Dear sister of Yvonne, Rita, Arthur, and Jeanette. Predeceased by Rudolphe, Raymonde, Leona, Roland and Emile. Ida will also be sadly missed by many friends and relatives. Ida played an integral role in the formation of the Espanola Chapter of the Ontario Association for the Mentally Handicapped, now known as Espanola Community Living and continued to be actively involved to this day. She also volunteered with the Catholic Women's League, Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed playing her Hawaiian guitar at the Seniors Complex and the group homes. She was also a Trustee on the Espanola Board of Education. Visitation will be held at the BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME, Espanola Thursday October 25th, 2007 from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. Funeral service will be Friday at 10 A.M. on October 26th at St. Jude R.C. Church with Fr. Gilles Grandmont officiating. Burial in the Espanola Cemetery. JIMMO, GEORGE FRANCIS 'FRANK' - The death of George Francis 'Frank' Jimmo occurred on October 20, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in St. George, NB he was the son of the late Phillip and Thelma (Casey) Jimmo. He was a self employed woodcutter throughout his life. He is survived by his son and his daughter; sister, Anna Bliss of California; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Jimmo of Hampstead, NB; nieces, Florence Sheehan of Brockway, NB, Marjorie Mills of Red Deer, AB; nephew, Eldon Jimmo; grand-nieces, Kathleen Bouchie and Doreen Cathline; grand-nephew, Melvin Perry; and several grand-grand nieces and nephews. His brothers, Michael, Louis, Henry and Lester predeceased him. HUTCHINSON, Gordon Lawrence (Lawrence) - Of Waterford passed away peacefully in his 83rd year at the Stedman Community Hospice in Brantford on October 22, surrounded by the love of his family. Loving Husband of Alma (Smith) for more than 42 years, and predeceased by his first wife Jean (Brown) in 1963. Cherished and dedicated Dad and Grandpa of Larry and Linda and their daughters Teresa (Kevin General), Tracey and Christy; Keith and Margaret and their son Kyle; Reid and Mary Ann and their daughter Brady (Andrew Henderson); Danny and Monica and their daughters Charidy (Ian Johnston) and Desiree; Mark and Evis and their sons Tyler and Josh; and Cindy (Will Yule). He is survived by his brothers Kim (Irene) of Markham and Jimmy of Holland. Lawrence was also a proud Great Grandpa to nine great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in- law, as well as many nieces and nephews. Greeting Lawrence at heaven's door are his parents, Eldridge and Fanny, his sister, Marjorie MacNicoll, and grandson, Ashley Crawford Hutchinson. Lawrence enjoyed life to the fullest, especially dancing, fishing trips up north, golfing, writing poetry - much of which was published in local newspapers or read at events hosted by family and friends - and watching the Toronto Blue Jays, win or lose. He also enjoyed visiting with friends at the Royal Canadian Legion in Waterford and was known for his wonderful singing voice and ability to tell jokes. Many local homeowners can thank Lawrence for their heating and cooling systems as he ran his own business for over 45 years. The family wish to thank Dr. Wynveen, whom Lawrence regarded as a friend as well as physician, Audrey Edwards and the visiting staff of the Community Care Access Centre, and the kind staff and volunteers at Stedman Community Hospice for their comforting words, gentle touch and loving care which made Lawrence's last month as comfortable as possible. BENOIT CRAGG, Marlyne est décédée subitement le vendredi 19 octobre 2007 suite à un accident de voiture à l'âge de 63 ans. Née à Montréal, elle était la fille du Dr. B.H. Cragg et Mary (Maguire), elle était l'épouse du Dr. Paul Benoit. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Rebecca (Matthew Cragg), Jean-Marc (Renata Varo) et Daniel ainsi que sa soeur Gaile et ses nièces Melanie et Daphne Lessard. C'est à l'hôpital Royal Victoria de Montréal que Marilyn a commencé sa longue carrière professionnelle comme infirmière autorisée, en se donnant totalement pour le plus grand bien de ses malades. Tout en étant épouse et mère à temps complet, elle obtint un baccalauréat en théologie de l'Université St. Paul d'Ottawa et continua, sa vie durant, à oeuvrer activement comme volontaire au Projet 4000 pour les réfugies vietnamiens, la Maison Amethyst et comme fondatrice de "Ottawa Therapy Dogs”. Les visites que faisaient Marilyn et ses labradors Ruby et Jet en ont touché plusieurs. La famille recevra parents et amis en la chapelle centrale de Hulse, Playfair et McGarry, 315 rue McLeod le lundi 22 octobre de 14h à 16h et de 18h à 21h. Un service commémoratif aura lieu en la chapelle le mardi 23 octobre à 11h30. LAKE, Wilfred George Wilfred George Lake passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from complications relating to diabetes and heart disease. Wilf was born in Winnipeg, MB on January 7, 1942. He worked at the Bank of Montreal in Magrath, then Drumheller. He went on to work at St. Mary River Irrigation District in Lethbridge and while there he obtained his Certified General Accountants' Designation in 1973. He moved his family to Vulcan in 1975 where he owned and operated his own accounting practice. In 1987 he moved to Calgary with his wife and son, followed a short time later by his daughter, where he resided until his passing. Left to mourn are his wife of forty-one years, Denise (nee Leishman), daughter Lori Hinsberger (Robin) and grandson Kyle, and son, Scott (Jane) Lake and granddaughter Amber. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Wilf is also survived by sister Cheryl Herr (Bob) and sister Geraldine Sarapuk (Peter) as well as various nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends all of whom he was very proud. He was predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Margaret Lake, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Thank you to all of the doctors and nurses of Unit 91 at the Foothills Hospital for their compassionate care. A special thank you to Freda Abrahamson for her longtime love, support and friendship. BRANTON, Donald Alfred 1929 - 2007 Mr. Donald Alfred Branton passed away peacefully with his wife Maggie by his side at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on October 20, 2007 at the age of 78 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Lesley (Karen); his stepsons Fred Brewster and Richard Brewster (Mai); step-grandchildren Vannata and William Sutherland; brother Doug Branton of Port Franks, Ontario and his sister Marilyn (Don) Ruhl of Hanover, Ontario; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Don was born in Toronto, Ontario and was educated in London, Ontario. He spent many summers playing drums for Bobby Downs jazz band in Grand Bend, Ontario. He received an education in Interior Design and worked for the first stand alone Interior Design firm in Canada called Sloan Branton in Toronto. Then he went to work for Eaton's Contract Design with his friend Tom Hanson, and later moved to Calgary in 1988 to work with friend Gord Turner on an interior design project. It was in Calgary where he met Maggie and decided to stay. During the past ten years Don has been a mentor for other Laryngectomy patients/friends; including Don Doucette and Evelyn Hansen who visited Donald and were a constant support at the hospital until his passing. BUDD, Andrew December 6, 1918 - October 18, 2007 Andrew Budd of Calgary passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the age of 88 years. Andrew was born on December 6, 1918 in Winnipeg, MB. He joined the Army during World War II and served overseas where he met Gwen. Andrew and Gwen were married in London, England in 1944 and came to Canada in 1945. They lived in Luseland, SK until moving to Calgary in 1959. Andrew and Gwen owned and operated Lincoln Park Grocery for many years until Andrew became employed with Lockerbie and Hole where he was Warehouse Manager. Andrew is survived by his children and their spouses, Brian and Nattie Budd, of Vancouver, BC; Rob and Debbie Matthew, of Camrose, AB; Bonnie Boyle, Janet and John Anderson and Gordon and Cheryl Budd, all of Calgary; eight grandchildren, Darren, Robyn (Clayton), Andy, Billy, Katie, Matthew, Madison and Alysa; and two great-grandchildren Cameron and Katelyn. Lauza Thériault Mise à jour le mardi 23 octobre 2007 Par: AP (1919-2007) À Montréal, le samedi 6 octobre 2007, à l’âge de 87 ans et dix mois, est décédée Lauza Thériault. Née à Bertrand le 15 décembre 1919, elle était fille de feu Aimé et de feu Joséphine Thériault. Elle vivait à Montréal depuis l’âge de 17 ans. Elle laisse dans le deuil deux soeurs: Louise Beck de Montréal et Ursule Mailhot de Caraquet; deux frères: Joseph et Raoul (Emilienne) de Bertrand, ainsi que plusieurs cousins, cousines, neveux et nièces. Sept soeurs et sept frères l’ont précédée dans la tombe. Une messe sera célébrée à la mémoire de Lauza, le samedi 27 octobre, à 16h, en l’église Saint-Joachim de Bertrand.
