LYONS, Donald "Buddy" Donald "Buddy" Lyons passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on October 20, 2007 at the age of 79 years. Buddy will be dearly missed by his sister Norma Froelick, his cousins Jeanne Lewis and family, and George Garthwaite and family. Buddy was predeceased by his mother Mary Ann and his father Charles. Buddy started his working life with the C.P.R. and after changing careers to the horse racing industry he finally retired as an official with the Alberta Horse Racing Commission in the city of Calgary. Many thanks to the staff at the Foothills Hospital and the Rockyview General Hospital and the caregivers at Chinook Hospice for their kind attention. Née le 3 septembre 1914 à Saint-Charles, elle était fille de feu Antoine Robichaud et de feu Nathalie Daigle. Elle laisse dans le deuil trois filles: Rose May (Louis) Daigle, Norma (Jean-Guy) Richard et Carmen Chavarie-Lacombe; deux soeurs: Lucie (Charlemin) Robichaud et Roseline (Maxime) Babineau; un frère, Jude (Priscille) Robichaud; sept petits-enfants: Normand, Nicole, Monique, Pauline, Catherine, Nathalie et Andréa, ainsi que deux arrière-petits-enfants: Haley et Laure Water. Lina était diplômée de l’École normale de Fredericton, en 1934. Elle a ensuite enseigné pendant 11 ans dans une école à classe unique, de la 1re à la 8e année, à Saint-Charles. Elle et son époux étaient propriétaires d’un restaurant à Chatham pendant dix ans avant de déménager à Rexton pour gérer un magasin de vêtements pour la famille et par la suite une épicerie. Lors de sa retraite, elle s’est dévouée sans compter pour l’église et pour d’autres organismes. Elle était membre de la Ligue des femmes catholiques. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 14h, le mardi 23 octobre, à la Maison funéraire Thompson de Richibouctou. She and her husband then owned a restaurant in Chatham for 10 years before moving to Rexton to operate a family clothing store and then a grocery store. Upon retirement she devoted countless hours to volunteering for the church and other organizations. She was also a member of the Senior Golden Age Club, Rexton and Richibucto. She is survived by three daughters, Rose May (Louis) Daigle, Norma (Jean-Guy) Richard and Carmen Chavarie-Lacombe; two sisters, Lucie (Charlemin) Robichaud and Roseline (Maxime) Babineau; one brother, Jude (Priscille) Robichaud; grandchildren, Normand, Nicole, Monique, Pauline, Catherine, Nathalie and Andrea; and two great-grandchildren, Haley and Lauren Waters. NADEAU, Justice Norman Nadeau - after a brief but difficult illness, Judge Nadeau passed away peacefully Saturday, October 20, 2007 in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Elizabeth Nadeau,and predeceased by his daughter Christine, he will be greatly missed by his children Kenneth, Elizabeth, Andrea, William, Robert, son-in-law Kimberley Boddy and his brother Raymond. He was the cherished Grandfather of Christie, Ashley, Justin and Danielle and Great-Grandson James. His passing will also be mourned by the legal community having served as magistrate in North Bay from 1962 through 1967 and later as a Provincial Court Justice in the Barrie area, for more than thirty years. HOVEY, BLAIR "MAC" - 1925-2007. Blair "Mac" Hovey of Plaster Rock passed away at the Edmundston Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 21, 2007. Born in Blissville, NB on July 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Gordon and Mary (Weaver) Hovey. Mac leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Monica Hovey (Burns); his daughters, Jane Veysey (Ralph Phillips) of Sussex, Donna (Roger) St. Peter of Sisson Ridge, Margie (Ronald Eccleston) Hovey of Anderson Road, Mary (Billy Ward) Hovey of Sisson Ridge, Patricia (Herman Craig) Hovey of Plaster Rock; his sons, Robert (Debbie) Hovey of Salisbury, John (Deanna) Hovey of Sisson Ridge; his sister, Margaret Shaddick of Miramichi; sister-in-law, Jessie Hovey of Miramichi; 10 grandsons, four granddaughters, one great grandson, several nieces and nephews. Mac was predeceased by his sisters, Jenny Russell and Grace MacLean; his brothers, Robert and Wilson "Mug" Hovey. Mac served during WWII with the North Shore Regiment and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #29. He was also a member of the Tobique Lions Club. Mac was very involved in community volunteering. Resting at Tobique Chapel in Plaster Rock with visitation on Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. ASHLEY, ANNA MAE - Anna Mae Ashley passed away peacefully on October 20, 2007 at the home of her daughter Bette Ashley on the Kingston Peninsula. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Margaret (Stanhope) Fairhead. She was born December 23, 1913 in Oak Bay, N.B. She is survived by two daughters, Marcia Smith of Oak Bay, N.B. and Bette Ashley (Cathy Phillips) of Kingston Peninsula, N.B.; six grandchildren, Albert (Laurie) Smith of Alberta, Margaret (Allan) Raven of Alaska, Jeffrey Smith of Alberta, Lisa (William) McClanaghan of Oak Haven, N.B., Richard (Lori) Smith of Fredericton, N.B., Nancy (Rob Brown) of Gordonsville, N.B.; one step granddaughter, Valerie (James) of U.S.A.; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and also good friends, Evelyn MacLeod and Dorothy Phillips. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Burton and infant daughter, Janice; five sisters and one brother. Anna was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of the Oak Bay United Baptist Church and an adherent to the Bayswater-Summerville United Church, Kingston Peninsula. She was a past member of IODE, Missionary Society and the Monday Night Club. Goyette L'Abbé Édouard 1916 - 2007 Goyette L'Abbé Édouard À l’infirmerie du Séminaire de Saint-Hyacinthe, le 18 octobre 2007, est décédé à l’âge de 91 ans, monsieur l’abbé Édouard Goyette. Né le 22 juillet 1916, il était le fils de Joseph-Rémi Goyette et de Amanda Richard. Il a été ordonné prêtre le 15 février 1942 par Mgr Anastase Forget, en l’église Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue (Longueuil). Monsieur l’abbé Goyette a occupé différents postes dans le diocèse de Saint-Jean-Longueuil : professeur au Séminaire de Saint-Jean, vicaire à la paroisse La Nativité de la Sainte-Vierge à La Prairie (1942-1961), curé des paroisses Sainte-Julie (1961-1968), Saint-Patrice à Sherrington (1968-1976), Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes à Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (1976-1985) et vicaire à la paroisse Saint-Rémi (1985-1994). En 1994, l’abbé Goyette s’est retiré à Saint-Hyacinthe où il y a rendu de nombreux services et assuré pendant plusieurs années un ministère occasionnel. Il résidait à l’infirmerie du Séminaire de Saint-Hyacinthe depuis décembre 2005. Monsieur l’abbé Goyette laisse dans le deuil ses sœurs Gertrude Goyette, de la congrégation des Sœurs Grises de Montréal et Hélène Goyette Thuot, ses filleuls Paul Gendreau et Guy Laflamme, sa filleule Lise Tellier, ses neveux et nièces, de nombreux parents et amis, ainsi que ses confrères prêtres des diocèses de Saint-Jean-Longueuil et de Saint-Hyacinthe. Elle laisse dans le deuil son fils adoré Stéphane Jean, sa brue Christine Meloche et son petit-fils Éric. Elle fut prédécédée de ses frères: Gérard et Ernest et de ses soeurs: Carmen, Suzanne et Huguette. Elle laisse également ses soeurs: Cécile (Bruno Legault), Reina (Aurélien Bélanger), feu Alice (Ronald Moyneur); son frère Bernard; ses belles-soeurs: Yolande Grondin, Monique Berniquez, feu Aline (feu Rémi Sabourin), Claire (feu Marcel Jean), Jeannine (Guy Bourgeois), Thérèse (feu Jean-Louis Benoit), Pierrette (feu Claude Paré), Claudette (Oswald Parent), Simone Jean ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces et ami(e)s. Prédécédée par une autre belle-soeur Carmen (feu Ronald Lanthier). Un service religieux sera célébré en présence des cendres en la cathédrale St-Joseph au 245, boul.
