SAVILLE, Audrey (nee Hopkin) - In loving memory of Audrey (nee Hopkin) Saville, who passed away Friday, October 12th, 2007 at the SRH - St. Joseph's Health Centre. She was married to Harold Saville in 1945 in Sudbury. A longtime and well liked West End resident, Audrey was a retired nurse who had pioneered the development and design of the local maternity program and department. She had trained many maternity nurses, she was a well respected nursing mentor and colleague. She was a great friend and advocate to children. A woman of faith, Audrey was a modern day Good Samaritan to all she met. She will be sadly missed but always well remembered. Beloved wife of Harold Saville, predeceased 1994. Loving mother of Harold “Hal“ Saville (wife Gloria) and Gregory Saville (wife Shelly). Cherished grandmother of Kerrie- Anne Rinaldi (husband Mike), Linda Ozdemir (husband Oktay) and Michael Saville (partner Joanne); great grandchildren Connor and Victoria Rinaldi. Dear daughter of Lily (1989) and Thomas (1944) Hopkin predeceased. Dear sister of Frank Hopkin (1979) predeceased and Ted Hopkin (1980) predeceased (wife Hugie). Loving mother of Anne Westaway- Palk of Brantford and Janet Alderson-Smith of Northhamptonshire, England. EWALD, Sister St. Hubert (Margaret Rose) - Entered Eternal life on October 14, 2007 in Chatham, Ontario. She was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1908, the daughter of the late Martin and Emma (Walgemuth) Ewald. She entered the Ursuline Sisters in 1927. She has ministered as a teacher in Tecumseh, Tilbury, Windsor, Blenheim, Chatham and Toronto. She was on the Board of Directors of the Ecumenical Council of Canada; a Volunteer at the Catholic New Times and C.I.R.G.; and a teacher and homemaker at the Gull Bay- Christian Presence Hospitality Centre in Gull Bay, Ontario. In 1984 she returned to Glengarda, Windsor and taught Laubach Literacy Teaching to Adults as well as being a Pastoral Minister and Nursing Home Visitor until 1987. Sister then returned to mission work for one year ministering to the native peoples in Grassy Narrow, Ontario. In 1988 she returned to Glengarda, Windsor until 1996 when she moved to “The Pines“, Chatham. Sister is survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers, Martin and Carl, and sister, Jean Cornwall. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held Tuesday, October 16th at 7 p.m. in the kiva at Villa Angela, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 17 at 11 a.m. in the kiva at Villa Angela. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. REA, Harvey (Nick) Duane Ford - A resident of Blenheim, Harvey (Nick) Rea passed away suddenly at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Margaret (Russell) Rea for 40 years. Father of Nancy, Kenneth, Gloria, Wayne, Bonnie, Patricia, Pamela, and step- father of Bonnie, Barrie, Beverly, and Brian. JEWETT, WALTER GLENWOOD Walter G. Jewett of Harvey Station passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Walter was born at Smithfield in 1937, a son of the late Eldon and Edna (Pollock) Jewett. He began work as a welder and later in life was successfully self employed in many different vocations. He was a member of the Cherry Mountain Masonic Lodge #50. Walter is survived by his wife, June M. (McElwain) Jewett; his children, Ricky Jewett, Harvey, Joey Jewett (Sylvia), Harvey, Dale Jewett, Fredericton and Cheryl Messer (Laurie), Harvey; two sisters, Lila Morehouse (Danny), Fredericton and Luann Greer (Donnie), Harvey; three brothers, Claire Jewett (Maxine), Fredericton, Alton Jewett (Vesta), Harvey and Paul Jewett (Elaine), Temperance Vale; his grandchildren, Aaron Jewett, Chrissy Jewett (Jamie), Amanda Scott, Sebrina Jewett (Manuel), Lindy Little (Ryan) and Justin Messer (Kelsey); his great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Jayden, Eli, Sol and Josiah; several nieces and nephews. ARKINSTALL, Brian Peacefully and courageously with his loving family by his side on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the age of 63. Predeceased by his parents Murdoch and Della Arkinstall and his beloved wife Margaret (nee Blaney). Proud and loving father of Murray (Vicki). Cherished brother of Diane Bowman (Dave). He will also be greatly missed by his extended family and his many friends. Brian was retired from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and was a member of the Governor General's Curling Club. He will be remembered for his countless volunteer contributions to the Glengarry Highland Games and the sport of curling. MILLIKEN, Rolande Hermine 76, of Hammonds Plains, passed away peacefully, October 13, 2007 at the Palliative Care unit of the Q.E.II after bravely facing her battle with Cancer over the last nine months. Born in Ottawa, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Fleurette (Lefebvre) Bourgeau. She lived in London, Ontario for 35 years and with her husband moved to Nova Scotia in 2003 to be closer to her son and his family. She enjoyed spending time at The Royal Canadian Legion, Calais Branch 162 where she made many wonderful friends and loved to play cribbage. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Gordon; sons, Bryan (Leslie Graham), Lakeview; Paul (Mary), England; daughter, Susan Johnson, Toronto; granddaughter Andrea Graham; sisters, Rita Cole, Diane Coughlin as well as her brother, Robert Bourgeau. She is predeceased by sisters, Georgette Rayner, Charlotte Hunkin and her brother John Bourgeau. Cremation has taken place. The family receive visitors, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville from where a memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday. MAHAR, E. MAE - The death of Edith Mae Mahar of the Church of St. John & Stephen Nursing Home, Saint John, occurred on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at her residence. Born in Blacks Harbour, NB on October 31, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Eva Mae (Borthwick) Stevens. Mae was the Manager of the Rothesay Avenue Deluxe French Fries for many years before her retirement and also was the cook at Caitons Island. She was an active member of Kings Valley Wesleyan Church, had a great passion for cooking and loved to visit and cook for her friends. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by three sons, Donald (Lois), Stephen (Twila) and Wayne (Debbie); two daughters, Lynn Mahar and Hyla Scott (Michele), all of Saint John; four brothers, Murl Stevens of Ontario, Paul Stevens of Petitcodiac, Millard Stevens of Ontario and Frank Stevens of Beaver Harbour; three sisters, Isabell Hill of Blacks Harbour, Edna Bieman of Vancouver, BC and Pauline Craft of Ontario; six grandchildren, Terra, Bonnie, Angie, Teegan, Christopher and Jamie; three great grandchildren, Rebecca, Peanut and Jocelyn; and many nieces and nephews. GRAY, GARY GLENDON - It is with great sadness we announce the death of Gary G. Gray, age 64, of Norton, NB, which occurred at the Sussex Health Centre, on Saturday, October 13, 2007. Gary was the husband of Carol (Marshall) Gray and son of the late Donald and Edith (Spragg) Gray. Daniel M. Leaman Daniel M. Leaman, 71, of Moncton, passed away at his residence on Friday, October 12, 2007. Born in Moncton he was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Young) Leaman. Dan was known for being a man of many talents, and lived in the High Artic for over 20 years working at the Resolute Bay airport in their administration. He was an active member of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, member of Council # 1310 K of C and the Magnetic Hill Lions Club. Adrian King 1922-2007 WOODPOINT, N.B.- Arthur Adrian King at age 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Rockport, N.B. on March 24, 1922, he was the son of the late Clarence and Sarah (Cole) King. Adrian was a devoted and loving husband, father, grampie and great-grampie who was very proud of all of his grandchildren and his new great granddaughter. He loved the outdoors, being an avid fisherman and hunter in earlier years and loved his home and family. Adrian was a member of the Masonic Order, Lebanon Lodge #28, Sackville, N.B.. John G. Carter The death of John G. Carter, age 85, of Sackville, and formerly of Point De Bute, occurred peacefully on Friday Morning, October 12, 2007 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Sackville in 1922, he was a son of the late Harry and Ethel (Fillmore) Carter. John was a retired farmer, having raised and exhibited pure bred shorthorn cattle. He sold life insurance for Mutual and Manual Life for over 30 years and was a well known auctioneer throughout the area. He is survived by his wife, the former Joyce Atkinson, Sackville; two sons, Donald (Joyce), Dartmouth and John, B.C.; three step-children, Rebecca Stulberg, Ottawa, Duncan (Irena) Gould, New Zealand and Virginia Gould, Fredericton, NB; two grandchildren, Greg and Jennifer; and 11 step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jane in 1961; his first wife, Marjorie Fullerton; and brothers, Cedric and Donald. NETHERY, Anne (nee Warren) - passed away peacefully at Nipissing Manor on Friday October 12, 2007 at the age of 82yrs. Predeceased by her husband Raymond (1997). Beloved mother of Patricia Davis (Alan) of Corbeil and Wayne Nethery (Sylvia) of Trenton, ON. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Christopher, Erika, Sean and Amber. Anne was a longtime employee on the Ontario Provincial Police. As per her wishes there will be no visitation or service. Private family interment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
