MCLAUGHLIN, FRANK J. - The death of Frank J. McLaughlin of Barnesville, occurred October 14, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Honeydale, son of the late Harry and Helen (Scott) McLaughlin. Frank enjoyed music and playing the harmonica. He was a member of Barnesville and District Lions Club. He is survived by one daughter, Darla Shannon (Weldon), Barnesville; three sons, Frank (Cindy), Fabian (Patti), Dean (Eve), all of Barnesville; two sisters, Mary Oagles, Blacks Harbour, Doris McLaughlin, Honeydale; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Teanna, Fabian, Cole, Ashley and Christian; one great grandson, Drew; several nieces and nephews. HARPER, CLARENCE B. - Clarence B. Harper, 90, of Anagance, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Harper Settlement, he was the son of the late Leon and Barbara (Bryce) Harper. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served with the Carleton York Regiment. He attended the Anagance United Church, had been a member of the Anagance Seniors Group, Petitcodiac Sportsmans Club, and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 86, Havelock, who will be holding a memorial tribute at the funeral home, Monday at 6:45pm. TRACY, ENID JOYCE (WEBB) - Enid Joyce (Webb) Tracy of Fredericton Junction, N. B. passed away at the Oromocto Public Hospital on October 12, 2007 at the age of 75. Enid is survived by four daughters, Valerie Nason (Donald) of Tracy, Ona Tracy of Fredericton, Shara Golden (Gregory) of Tracy, Karen MacCracken (Bill) of Tracy; one sister, Christine Chenard (Art) of Fredericton Junction; one brother, Neil Webb (Doreen) of Kissimee Florida; sister-in-law, Edna Webb of Fredericton Junction; and a special friend, Norman Tracy of Tracy; four grandchildren, Bradley and Jillian Nason, Gerad and Joel Golden; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Enid brought-up her young family by herself after her husband Allan died at a young age. She was a woman of great faith and a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her girls and grandchildren. Enid was an active member of the Anglican Parish of Fredericton Junction where she played the organ and sang in the choir. She was a bible study leader and a member of Women Aglow. During her lifetime she was employed as Post Mistress in Tracy, Levines Ltd. and The Messenger Book Store. Enid loved to travel, knit, crochet and read. She loved music and enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society. She is predeceased by her parents, Jeanne A. (Allen) and Manzer A. Webb; her husband, Allan Tracy; and sister-in-law, Helen A. HEWS, Charles F. A. - A graduate of Queen's University at Kingston, in 1950, Mr. Hews earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering. Mr. Hews joined Inco Limited in 1952 as a mining engineer, progressing through increasingly responsible operations roles including President of the Manitoba Division, retiring as Vice President ( Public Affairs) in 1984. Mr. Hews was also a leader in many professional and community associations. He lectured at Queen's School of Mining after retirement. He was recognized as an Officer with the Order of St. John and was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science degree in 1993 by Queen's . In recent years he was a devoted caregiver to his wife ,Marjorie who resides at the John M Parrot Centre for the Aged in Napanee .He shared his talents to assist the residents and their families , and to working with the staff whom he much appreciated and relied on for the wonderful care and support they provided. Charlie died suddenly at the Kingston General Hospital after a brief illness, on Saturday, October 13, 2007, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Marjorie (Biddie) for 60 years. Loving father of David Hews (Dora) of Brampton, Peggy Crowther (Patrick) of Toronto, Bill Hews (Mary Ann) of Calgary, and Susan Bush (Tim) of Vancouver. CAINE, W.H. (Bill) April 27, 1932 - October 12, 2007 It is with profound sadness that the family of William H. (Bill) Caine announces his passing on Friday, October 12, 2007. Bill will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by Terry, his loving wife of thirty years and sons, Byron and Brent. He also leaves to mourn his passing sisters, Harriet (John) Younie and Louella Rayner, and brother James (Evelyn) Caine, sister-in-law Alice, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was predeceased by his brothers Robert and John (Jane) and his sister Annie. Bill devoted much of his life to the oil industry and was inducted to the Canadian Petroleum Hall of Fame in 2000. In addition to the countless hours spent in the oil business, he still found time to dedicate his energies to charitable pursuits. He served as President of the Edmonton Shrine Club Division of Al Azhar of Calgary and devoted his time to the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation. Bill was recognized by the North American Waterfowl Management Plan, the Alberta Conservation Association, Alberta Fish & Game Association and Nature Conservancy Canada for his conservation ethic and his support to making Buffalo Lake Moraine Conservation Area a reality. His other interests included happy times spent with hunting and fishing buddies and numerous rounds on the golf course with his golfing compatriots. HERRINGSHAW, Doris Grace (nee Osborne) October 20, 1932 - October 13, 2007 Surrounded by loving family, Doris Grace Herringshaw (nee Osborne) of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2007, just prior to her seventy-fifth birthday. Doris was born in Calgary and was raised by her Auntie Ruth and Uncle Leonard. She is fondly remembered as a gentle, caring woman, possessing quiet strength beyond expectation. Her greatest loves were her family, friends and music. Doris was an accomplished pianist who touched many with her gift. Walking her dog Buddy, baking, bowling, and playing bridge with long-time friends were also sources of great enjoyment for her. She was also a dedicated employee of Sears for over twenty-five years. McGEE, Margaret (Doyle). April 6, 1904 - October 13, 2007. It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of Margaret, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mom left this life in the same way she lived it for one hundred and three and a half years, with peace, dignity and courage on Saturday, October 13, 2007. Her family was at her side. As a young woman in her early thirties, Mom was predeceased in 1938 by her beloved husband Dillon of Calumet Island (Pontiac Co.), Quebec. With great courage in difficult times, she provided a safe and loving home to her five children, William Joseph (Arlene), Dillon Kevin (Marlyn), the late Edward Patrick (Jane), the late Anna Kathleen (Thomas J. Hunt) and Thomas D'Arcy (Dianne). She was a cherished and devoted Granny of eleven and a great-grandmother of twelve. She is survived by several nieces and nephews across Canada and in England, as well as in Toomebridge, Northern Ireland where she was born the daughter of Ellen Jane O'Neill and Samuel Doyle. Mom led a busy active life well into her nineties, involved in church and community projects. To all who had the pleasure of knowing her, whether as "Margaret", or "Molly", or "Aunt Peggy", Mom was a devoted friend, always there when a helping hand was needed. She enriched all our lives. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful nurses and all the dedicated caregivers at The Gilman Residence for the kind and generous care they gave to Mom over the past eight years. Romeo Vautour Romeo Vautour, 70 of Moncton passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Saturday, October 13, 2007. He was the son of the late Edgar and Zelma (Brine) Vautour of Port Elgin. He was a member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church. Romeo had worked at Sumner Company and had 22 years of service at Lockharts and 3 years with Beaver Lumber. He spent 9 years doing volunteer driving for the Greater Moncton Volunteer Center and over the past 15 years he also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, CNIB, Magma and other community organizations and charities. CARUCCI, Benedetto, Cesare - In loving memory of Benedetto Carucci, 90 years of Gatchell who passed away Friday, October 12th, 2007 at the SRH-St. Joseph's Health Centre. Born in Sarnano, Macerata, Italy and married Anna (Ascenzi) in Italy in 1946. Benedetto came to Canada in 1949 settling in Sudbury in 1950. He was a smelter worker at the Copper Cliff Smelter having over 25 years service at INCO retiring in 1979. A devoted Roman Catholic he attended St. Anthony's Church. In healthier days Benedetto enjoyed playing bocce, picking blueberries, making wine and gardening. A quiet man he will be remembered as a hardworker who was devoted to his loving family. Beloved husband of Anna (Ascenzi) Carucci; predeceased 2001. Loving father of Frank of Sudbury and Teri of Ottawa, and two predeceased infant children. Cherished son of Porforio and Agnese Tagliani predeceased. Loving brother of Egidio (Nena), Achille (Eugenia of Sarnano) and Giuseppe, Carucci, Maria Bellini, (Romeo) Andea Zega (Egidio) all predeceased. Sister-in-law Irma Gugliemi (Adolfo of Sarnano). Also survived by brother-in-law Nazzareno Ascenzi (Vanna) and sister-in- law Cecilia Starnoni (Edo predeceased) in Italy. SPALTON, Philip - After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Philip Spalton passed away with his loving family at his side at the Welland Hospital on October 13, 2007. Devoted husband of 59 years to Donna (nee O'Neill) Spalton. Loving father of David Spalton (late Janice) and Paula Peterson (Ray) both of Welland. Dear brother of Helen (George Van Wallegham) of Kenora, Ontario. He will be sadly missed by his 5 grandchildren Jennifer, Christopher, Sheila, Theresa and Peter Spalton, and 2 great grandchildren Xavier and Zoey. Fondly remembered by his sister-in-laws Betty, Marguerite, Cecile and Elaine and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Clara Spalton, four brothers Tom, Edward, Frank, Henry and one sister Laura. Philip was a WWII Veteran and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2806 (Kenora). He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and the unconditional love he had for his family. He enjoyed nature, fishing, boating and a good game of bridge. Gilles L. Perry (1944-2007) TRACADIE-SHEILA - À l'Hôpital de Tracadie-Sheila, le samedi 13 octobre 2007, à l'âge de 63 ans, est décédé Gilles L. Perry, domicilié à Tracadie-Sheila. Né le 3 septembre 1944, il était fils de feu Philippe Perry et d'Anne Julie Robichaud de Brandon, Manitoba. Il laisse dans le deuil une soeur, Hélène (John Mayers) de Brandon, Manitoba; deux frères: Michel (Angela Perry) de Westbourne, Manitoba et Normand (France) de Montréal; son cousin et filleul, Jacques Robichaud (Linda) qui s'occupait de lui; une tante, Clarisse Robichaud; sa cousine, Michelle (Robert Sharp) de Nouvelle-Écosse, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et tantes. Une soeur, Lucille en bas âge, l'a précédé dans la tombe. M. Perry était un grand passionné de vélo. Il a fait parti des Forces canadiennes pendant 35 ans après avoir pris sa retraite en 1999. Il a travaillé comme gardien de sécurité à la base militaire de Dartmouth en Nouvelle-Écosse. WINDLE, Christine April 15, 1928 - October 11, 2007 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our wife, mother, sister, and grandmother Christine Windle (nee Hawrylenko), beloved wife of Patrick for fifty-five years, after a brief illness. Patrick's "Little Pail of Honey" is now at rest with the good Lord. Mom will always be fondly remembered for her courage and wisdom throughout the years and the many wonderful aromas coming from her kitchen. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Mary; six sisters, Pearl, Anne, Mary, Rose, Sophie, and Pauline; six brothers, John, Mike, Harry, Pete, Nick, and Bill; four brothers and sisters who died in infancy and one brother-in-law, Jack (Gena). Grandma is now able to join hands with her first grandson Justin who left us all too early in 1987. She can now give him guidance like she has done so beautifully to her other remaining grandsons, Sean, Kyle, Devin, Tyson, Patrick, and Jonathan, who will be honourary bearers. Mom enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, and wintering in warm locations. Mom loved to go on cruises and special memories will be celebrated on the family cruise through the Panama Canal this December in honour of their fifty-fifth anniversary. Chris was born in Peno, AB and leaves behind her loving husband Paddy; sons, Michael (Suzann) of Calgary, Tim (Christine) of Delta, BC and Danny (Sheree) of Chestermere; sisters, Olga of Prince George, Lena of Kamloops, Ksenia (Chick) of Chilliwack, and Katrina (Kathy) of Hythe; and numerous relatives and friends. The Windle family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at the Peter Lougheed Hospital.
