GRANT, Randall MacDonald Born in Huntingdon, Quebec on November 21, 1954, died in Ottawa on Thursday, September 6, 2007, age 52. Husband of Jennifer Grant and proud father of Bronwyn and Timothy. Brother of Patricia Grant (Glenn Facey) and son of the late Ernest and Bertha Grant of Huntingdon, Quebec. Randall was a man of integrity and devotion to family. He was a resourceful man of many interests and abilities. Throughout his lifetime Randall avidly enjoyed World War II military history, photography, furniture building, genealogy, canoeing and the outdoors, cooking, wine making, travel, reading and movies. His career was in the field of IT support and auditing. Randall was knowledgeable and good at everything he turned his hand to. He loved to use the ingenuity and creativity needed to meet a challenge or solve a problem. STEWART, NICOLE YVETTE MARIE - (45), daughter of Jacques and Dora (Hupée) Blackburn of Winnipeg, Manitoba, born in Belleville Ontario, passed away at her home in Enfield, Nova Scotia, with her family by her side on Wednesday Sept. 5, 2007. She is survived by husband Andrew; children, Sarah, Robert and Michael; sister, Renée Shultz (Bob); brother, Maurice and his wife Pam, brother Jacques Jr, all of Winnipeg, Manitoba, as well as brother Ricky, sister Jacqueline (Charlie Brown), of Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is predeceased by her grandparents; her brother, Donald and sister, Lorraine. She attended Sturgeon Creek Regional Secondary School in Winnipeg before joining the Canadian Forces in 1979 where she served until 1985, when she left to be a mother to her children. Following a transfer to Nova Scotia in `95, she rejoined the workforce with Wendy's, Hermes Electronics, Zellers and finally Moirs, where she remained until her illness. She has been waging an intense battle with breast cancer since June 2001 and would not let it stop her enthusiasm for her interest in her children, their lives and family interests. She and Andrew, as well as her children, have worked for several seasons at the Registration gate at the NBAAC Flea market in Sussex, NB alongside the Stewart family. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at Donald K Walker Funeral Directors, 307 Prince Albert Rd. Dartmouth (902-469-5601), on Monday Sept. 10, 2007 at 11:00am. POPOVICH, Michael “Mike“ - 1918-2007 - The family announces with sorrow his death at the Golden Manor on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at age 89 years. Pre- deceased by his wife Yvette (nee Leblond) in 2003. Dear father of Harry of Timmins, Nick of Schumacher, Christine Hill (husband Brian) of Fenlon Falls and Mark (wife Lorene) of Timmins. Dear grandfather of David Vickers, Jennifer Popovich, Shawn Racine and Brandon and Jeremy Popovich. Brother of Julie Rudasics of South Bend, IN., Rosie Salica of Windsor and Velma Moysey of Toronto Pre-deceased by his son Gary in 1971 and his brothers Nick, Tommy and Joe. Mike was a lifelong resident of Schumacher who served with the Canadian Navy in World War II. After his return from service, he and two fellow WWII veterans founded Vet's Taxi Co. here in Timmins where he drove with the company for over 37 years. Mike was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #88. After his retirement, Mike was well known for his love of bowling as well as being an avid billiard player at the Timmins Seniors Center. Turgeon Pauline, Soeur, AMJ 1916 - 2007 À l’infirmerie intercommunautaire des Augustines de la Miséricorde de Jésus, est décédée le 29 août 2007, Soeur Pauline Turgeon (Soeur Sainte-Augustine), du monastère de l’Hôtel-Dieu de Québec, à l’âge de 90 ans et 10 mois, après 70 ans de profession religieuse. Elle était la fille de feu Nazaire Turgeon et de feue Laetitia Nadeau, de Saint-Isidore de Dorchester. Outre sa communauté, la défunte laisse dans le deuil ses soeurs, S. Gilberte, SCIM, Clotilde (feu Julien Roy), S. Rachel, AMJ, Agathe (feu Paul-Eugène Roy), sa belle-soeur, Claire Laliberté (feu Daniel Turgeon), son frère, Albéric (Thérèse Plante), des neveux et nièces, cousins et cousines. Silvère Duguay Mise à jour le jeudi 06 septembre 2007 Par: AP SAINT-SAUVEUR - C’est avec grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de notre père Silvère Duguay, décédé paisiblement à Moncton, le mercredi 5 septembre 2007, à l’âge de 75 ans et domicilié à Saint-Sauveur. Né le 19 septembre 1931, il était l’époux de feu Carmel Losier et fils de feu Aimé Duguay et de feu Adenise Mallet. Il laisse dans le deuil trois filles: Denise (Neil Vibert) de Miscou, Lise (Pascal Deschamps) et Isabelle (Mathieu Vautour), toutes deux de Moncton; trois petits-enfants qu’il adorait: Emma, Alex et Charlotte; deux soeurs: Albertine (Léo Morais) de Bathurst et Albina de Saint-Sauveur; deux frères: Gérard (Lorraine) de Windsor et Stanislas (Danielle) de Williamsburg, ainsi que plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, neveux, nièces, cousins et cousines. Cinq soeurs: Estelle, Hélène, Emélie, Eva et Catherine; deux soeurs à la naissance, ainsi que cinq frères: Eugène, Albanie, Emile, Alexis et Avila (2005), l’ont précédé dans la tombe. M. Duguay manquera beaucoup à sa famille, ainsi qu’à ses nombreux amis et amies. Il aimait beaucoup voyager et danser. Il était un enseignant à la retraite, après avoir enseigné durant 39 ans. Il était très impliqué comme bénévole dans différents organismes. DOTT, Thomas - At the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Tuesday September 4, 2007, surrounded by the love of his family. Thomas Dott in his 80th year, dear husband of Elizabeth (Betty) Geaves. Loving father of Anne-Louise and her husband Luigi Scozzafava, Julie and her husband Luigi Seneca. Proud gramps of Anthony and Nicholas Scozzafava. Brother of Frances and her husband Douglas McKenzie, and the late David Dott (1999) and Mhairi West (2002), and her husband the late Dr. William West (1976). Uncle of Robert West and his wife Janet, Susan West, Catherine Anderson and her husband Alex. Several great nieces and nephews also survive. Born in Inverness Scotland, Tom served with the Royal Navy before coming to Canada in 1953. He was employed with Kaumeyer Paper for 33 years retiring in 1987, and was a member and past Elder of Chippawa Presbyterian Church. Mr. Dott was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 396, and a member and Past Master of King Edward VII Lodge # 471 A.F & A.M. HUBBARD, Sarah Elizabeth Born March 1946 in Bournemouth, UK, Sarah departed this life as a result of ovarian cancer on August 31st, 2007. At the time of her death, Sarah was surrounded by family at home. She leaves with cherished memories her life partner, Colette, daughter Louise (Kevin), son Dave, grandchildren Aidan and Ben and animal companion Moggie. In November 2003, following her diagnosis, she decided to devote her time to the things important to her: various communities, including the First United Church, Hintonburg Neighbourhood Watch, Ovarian Cancer Canada and feral cats. Accordingly, a memorial gift of time, talent or donation to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers would be appreciated. OBITUARY Frank Henry Ditchburn Passed away suddenly on September 4, 2007 at the age of 87. Devoted husband to the late Lois Ditchburn. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Lynda (the late J. D. Anderson), Claudia (Tom Raudorf); Robert (Elizabeth), Anna (Brian Cockerton); and his grandchildren Jennifer (Greg Loyst), Tannia, Tom, Robert, Lianne, Lisa-Marie and Sara and his great-granddaughter Gabriela. He will also be missed by his dear friend Frances Sessenwein (the late Robert Sessenwein), brother F. George Ditchburn (the late Olive), and brother-in-law John Sessenwein (Patricia). Frank is predeceased by his brother Gilbert Ditchburn. He was much loved by his many nieces and nephews and will be mourned by his surviving air force and POW mates and longtime business partner Martial Duval. Donna was predeceased by her beloved father, Richard Smith; cousin Gail Spittle of Petawawa and formerly of Thunder Bay, Ontario. A pillar of strength and selflessness, Donna will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her husband and best friend of 39 years, Allan; mother Mary Smith; sons Richard of London, Ontario and Stephen of Pembroke; daughter Kristen Taylor of Hamilton, Ontario, and daughter-in-law Sara Lapointe of Pembroke.
