TREMBLAY Paul-André TREMBLAY (M. Paul-André) Le 15 juillet 2007, à l'hôpital de St-Jérôme, suite à un combat sans relâche contre la maladie, est décédé M. Paul-André Tremblay, il s'est éteint paisiblement en présence de son fils Sylvain. Âgé de 66 ans, demeurant à St-Colomban, il était originaire de St-Jean-Vianney et a vécu pendant de nombreuses années à Arvida. Il était l'époux bien-aimé de Pauline Desmeules et le fils de feu Ovide Tremblay et de feu Hélène Flamand. Outre sa tendre épouse Pauline, il laisse dans le deuil son fils unique: Sylvain (Lina Côté); ses 2 petits-enfants qu'il adoraient: Francis et Marie-Ève. Il laisse également dans le deuil ses soeurs: feu Solange Tremblay-Guay, (Claude Munger), Geneviève (Jules Fortin), Suzanne (Gaétan Fortin), Marie-Paule (Eugène Tremblay), Lisette (Jean-Paul Duchesne), Huguette (feu André Bouchard); ses frères: feu Raymond (Miryane Depont), Jean-Luc (Francine Briand), Florent (Francine Simard) et Michel (Céline Bouchard); ses belles-soeurs et beaux-frères de la famille Desmeules: feu Noëlla (Ghislain Lamontagne), Gaétan (Hélène Simard) et feu Réjean (Christiane Grenon), ainsi que de nombreux neveux, nièces, cousin(e)s et ami(e)s. En vertu de ses propres volontés, le défunt n'a pas été exposé et sa dépouille a été incinérée. Les obsèques ont eu lieu le jeudi 19 juillet 2007 en la Cathédrale de St-Jérôme et ses cendres seront mises en terre au cimetière de St-Jean-Vianney le samedi 28 juillet 2007 à 14 h. Parents et ami(e)s sont invités à y assister. Prière de ne pas envoyer de fleurs. McLAUGHLIN, Vincent Lambert - at North Bay, Ontario, Wednesday, July 11th, 2007. Beloved husband of Marilyn Frances (Dunn). Dear father of Anne of North Bay, Patrick and his wife Lorna of Hanmer, Andrew and his wife Shannon of Scarborough, and James of Hanmer. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica of Hanmer and Maxwell of Scarborough. Vincent was born in Brockville, Ontario May 22nd 1930, son of the late James and Anne McLaughlin. He was also predeceased by a brother James and a sister Kathleen. PETERS, John John passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2007 at the age of 86 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Minna; son Mervyn (Terry), daughters Janice (Darryl), Jacqueline (Kevin); daughter-in-law Susan (Ed); grandchildren Tracey (Warren), Laurie (Brian), Kim, Tim, Cayde, Monterey, Jayden and Jenae; great-granddaughters Taylor and Sydney. John was predeceased by his oldest son Ronald in 1993. John served in the RCAF overseas from 1942 to 1946 and spent his career with Petro Canada. A special thanks for the wonderful care to Drs. Melissa and Murray and the nurses on Unit 58 at the Rockyview General Hospital. KRUPP, John (Jan) Mikhailovich - 29 September 1921 - 16 July 2007 - Following a lengthy illness, an extraordinary man has left us to meet his Saviour and Lord. John passed away in the loving care of his family and spent his last few days in his beloved countryside in the idyllic Carp area. Indeed, the birds outside his window sang a last song for him during his passage. Predeceased by his beloved parents Maria and Mikhail Krupenich, he leaves to mourn his devoted wife of 54 years, Olga Dmitrievna (née Izhikova), his children Alex (Julie) of Stittsville, Leesa (Louis) of Sudbury, Masha (Brian) of Carp, Bill of Collingwood, Anne (Richie) of Sudbury, Laura (Paul) of Kanata, his grandchildren Larisa (James) of Peterborough, Jason (Inhee) of Seoul, Krysana (Curtis) of Sudbury, Michael of Stittsville, Allan and Catherine of Kanata, D'Arcy of Carp, Marjan of Sudbury, and his great-grandchildren Annaliisa, Alessia, Daniel, Kaija, Thomas and Illianna. Predeceased by his brothers Simeon and Corniliy, and by his sisters Anna, Olga, Sonya and Aksana. Survived by his brothers Iosif and Sergei of Russia. John's Herculean physical strength, which was legendary from his birth village of Lyusino in Belarus to the forests of Kapuskasing and the underground mines of Sudbury, masked a compassionate heart that never turned away anyone in need. His kindness to the poor and the dispossessed did not go unnoticed by his children and grandchildren, and he taught them from an early age what it meant to be a true Good Samaritan. He survived the travails and horrors of WW II and made his way to Canada in 1952, where he met and married the beautiful Olga Dmitrievna in Montreal in 1953, and they settled in Sudbury, Ontario, where John worked underground in the mines for INCO for more than 30 years. A devout Christian and a man of unwavering conviction, John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and despite his demanding physical job during his working life, John also served as a lay minister for the Russian Baptist Church in Sudbury for more than 30 years, and worked the family farm in Markstay, Ontario, teaching his children and grandchildren the intrinsic value of hard work, the beauty of nature and the importance of “living off the land”. Strangers and friends alike never forgot John's selfless kindness - prior to leaving Europe in 1952, he worked in the coal mines in Belgium and helped many desperate families come to Canada following the War, himself arriving with one American dollar in his pocket before heading to Northern Ontario to work as a lumberjack. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to honour this remarkable man may send a donation in his name to The Mission in Ottawa, or to The Samaritan's Centre in Sudbury. Visitation at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday July 17th 2007. Funeral services will be held at the Parkdale Baptist Church, 474 Parkdale Avenue in Ottawa at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday July 18th 2007, with Dr. George Boltniew officiating. Internment to follow at Highland Park Cemetery, McGee Side Road in Carp. Special thanks to Katherine for her gentleness and sincere compassion in easing our father's passage and to Dr. Yelle for taking the time to make house calls despite his busy schedule. Thank you also to Diane for taking over in the kitchen during our time of need, and to Robert and Glen for all the walleye that my father was able to enjoy in the last years of his life. Sincere thanks to all the neighbours and friends who offered their help and support. Also thank you to Dr. Boltniew for taking the time to travel to Ottawa from New Jersey to minister to the family and officiate at the funeral. McGEE, Claudette Marie Gracia (nee Lajoie) November 16, 1944 - July 21, 2007 It is with heaviness in our hearts we announce that after several years of serious illness, borne with strength and dignity, Claudette passed away at Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre. Claudette was the soul mate for 43 years of John Islay McGee, proud and loving mother of Natalie Michelle. She was the devoted caregiver to furry friend, Vagabond. Claudette was the dearly loved daughter of the late Anita and Edouard (Eddy) Lajoie, brother of the late Jean-Marc. She was sister of Francoise Lajoie and of the late Denise Lacelle. Aunty Clau was niece to Lynne Bennett and her children, Christopher and Ashley. She treasured her dear friend, Francine Brian, with whom over 40 years of joyful memories live on. Claudette retired from CFB Ottawa Rockcliffe Credit Union as Branch Manager after 30 years of loyal service to her members. She will be greatly missed by the number of friends and neighbours whose lives she touched with her compassion, kindness and gracious hospitality. Walter Zemek After a brief illness, Walter Zemek died at the age of 87 at the Tri-Town Extendicare Nursing Home in Haileybury on July 11, 2007. He was predeceased by his first wife Albertine Zemek and his second wife Therese Zemek. He is survived by his niece Patricia Forget (and Ron Wickett]) and nephew Raymond “Fudge” Forget, all of Haileybury. The funeral service was held at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home on July 13. On July 10, 2007 Margaret Fox died in Englehart. She was born in Calgary, Alberta, on June 30, 1947, to Charlie and Margaret Duncan, who predeceased her. She was also educated in Calgary. She married her husband, Bill Fox, in September of 1971, in Aurora, Ontario. They resided in Gowganda, Ontario. She worked at the Temiskaming Health Unit (Elk Lake) as a nurse, as well as at the Foxfire Nursing Footcare. She loved to walk, read, play cards, tend to her flower garden and crafts. She is survived by her husband Bill Fox; children, Kate Fox of Huntsville and Jeremy Fox of Sudbury; grandsons, Brenden and Zachary Fox; sister, Glenda (John) Duncan of New Mexico ; sisters in law, Carol (Fox) and Brian Kelsey and Alaina, Zoe and Sam from London; cousins Iris (Oregon), Susan, Chris, Glen and Alixe from Florida. Madame Béatrice Poirier Leroux rejoint ses fils et son conjoint : Albert Leroux, Maurice et Marc et laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Darquise, Nicole ( Maurice Rheault, Lyette (André Dumoulin) et Mario (Danielle Belzil), ses frères, belles-sœurs, neveux et nièces ainsi que de nombreux parents et amis. Madame Béatrice Poirier Leroux sera exposée à compter de 9h00 le vendredi 20 juillet 2007 au Complexe funéraire Ste-Bernadette du 515, avenue Chénier. Les funérailles auront lieu le vendredi 20 juillet 2007 à 11h en l’église Immaculée Conception de Rouyn-Noranda. L’inhumation aura lieu au cimetière St Michel de Rouyn-Noranda.

ANDREW, Stella H. - In loving memory of Stella H. Andrew (nee Kozak) who passed away Sunday, July 15th, 2007 at the age of 76 years. Stella was raised in Creighton Mine and moved to Sudbury in 1964. Beloved wife and best friend of Robert Andrew of Sudbury. Loving mother of Joseph Stelmach and Natalie Stelmach both of Sudbury and Nicholas Stelmach (wife Miriam) of Ottawa. Cherished Nana of Alicia, Adam and Jacob. Dear sister of Mary of Sudbury and Anne (husband George) of Ottawa. Predeceased by her parents Nickola and Tekla Kozak and her brother John and nephew Wayne. Dear aunt of Wendy of Ottawa. At Stella's request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation. A private burial will be held in the family plot at Park Lawn Cemetery. ANTLER, Dora (nee Duchene) - In loving memory of Dora (nee Duchene) Antler, 95 years, who passed away Sunday, July 15th, 2007 at the SRH - St. Joseph's Health Center. She was born in Chapeau, Quebec and married Gustave Antler in 1930 in Sudbury. A longtime and well respected Wahnapitae resident, Dora had been a hard worker and great cook at the Wahnapitae Community Center. Always quick to help others she had been a girl guide leader. She was a avid gardener whose green thumbs produced beautiful flowers and bountiful vegetables. She was a keen knitter whose creations are treasured by family and friends. She was truly a good person whose light inspired all she met. She was devoted to her loving family. Beloved wife of Gustave Antler predeceased 1979. Loving mother of Ethel Charsley of Sudbury, Wesley (wife Carol) of Wahnapitae, Ida Mae Wendorf (husband Donald) of Capreol, Donald of Sudbury and Edward “Eddie“ (wife Rita) of Wahnapitae. Cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Dear daughter of Joseph and Justine (St. Jean) Duchene predeceased. Dear sister of Beatrice Bergeron of Wahnapitaw and the late Lenix, Alire, Octave, Victoria, Mary, Regina and Annie all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. DUBÉ, Wendy Jean (nee Burgess) - In loving memory of Wendy Dubé, 50 years, of Hanmer, who passed away Saturday, July 14th, 2007 at the SRH - Laurentian Site. Wendy was born in Kirkland Lake and married Philippe Dubé in 1982 in Saskatoon. Wendy settled in Valley East 18 years ago from Saskatoon. An ambitious and industrious person she was presently working at Rezplaz Company. She enjoyed gardening, music and movies, and socializing with her friends. Wendy will be remembered as a very meticulous and neat person. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and never forgotten. Beloved wife of Philippe Dubé of Hanmer. Loving mother of Jennifer predeceased 1994 and step children Philippe Dubé (wife Crystal) of Alberta and Sara Dubé of Sault Ste. Marie. Cherished grandmother of Liam, Isaac and Anna. Dear daughter of Roy Burgess and Jean McRae both predeceased. Dear sister of Jack of Toronto, Larry and Barb Ireland both of Saskatoon and Bonnie of Sudbury. DUROCHER, Noëlla Emily (née Larocque) - Born December 15, 1922 in Gogama, Ontario, Noëlla, who lived at 200 Ste. Anne Rd., Sudbury, died from heart failure on January 7, 2007 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. She was 84 years old. Noëlla was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Anthime Durocher. Noëlla and Joe lived in Timmins and Elliot Lake, Ontario and in Chapais and Val d'Or, Québec. Noëlla is missed by her three sons, Marcel, Claude (Karen), and Roger (Micheline); six grandchildren, Camille, Jonathan (Natalie), Johanne, Stéphanie (Jeff), Francis and Jérémie; and by her sister, Armande Blaney and her family. A special thanks to Armande and to her daughter, Carol Noble and husband, John for all their help to Noëlla these last few years. A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 118 McMurray St., Bracebridge, Ontario at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2007. Interment of her ashes will be at the Civic Memorial Cemetery in Sudbury on Wednesday, July 25th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Multiple Sclerosis or the Canadian Cancer Societies. LLOYD, (Moncion) Cheryl - Cheri passed away quietly on Monday, June 25, 2007 with her family by her side, age 46 years. Cheri was diagnosed with breast cancer in September, 2003. During her almost 4 year battle with the disease she fought courageously and always put the well-being of those around her before her own. She refused to let cancer definer her and lived her life to the fullest, and with dignity, until the very end. Cheri is survived by her husband, Donald Moncion, her 2 daughters Laura and Bethy at home, her mother Ida Lloyd (Gordon Hunter) of Sault Ste. Marie, her sister Shauna Lloyd, Ottawa, her brother Chris Lloyd (Lynn Korbak), Toronto, in-laws Hubert and Jeanne Moncion, Hanmer, ON, and extended family in Canada and the United Kingdom. Predeceased by her father Peter Lloyd. Cheri's family wishes to extend special thanks to Drs. Millar, Verma, Cross, Malone and Gick, to the nurses of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre Chemotherapy Treatment Unit, Carefor and At Home Hospice for their outstanding care and support. MCKAY, Ronald Ervin Sr. - In loving memory of Ronald Ervin McKay Sr. age 74 years, a long-time resident of Sudbury, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 11th. Ron was born and raised in Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario in 1933 and moved to Sudbury to seek employment in 1955. Ron worked as a Shift Boss in the Mill at INCO and retired in 1989 after 33 years of service. His greatest interest was in his family and extended to hunting and camping on Manitoulin Island. Ron is predeceased by his beloved wife Wanda McKay (nee Gifford) of 52 years. Loving father of Ronald McKay Jr. of Vancouver, Roderick McKay of Toronto and Richard (wife Claudette McKay) of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Matthew and Malinda. Son of Gordon McKay Sr. (predeceased) and Evelyn Rose McKay (predeceased). Ron is lovingly remembered by his brothers Gordon McKay and Skip McKay of Dunnville and Arthur McKay of Sudbury. He is predeceased by his sister Marilyn McKay. SANCHE, Claude Henri - In loving memory of Claude Henri Sanche. It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend Claude Henri Sanche. Claude passed away in North Bay, July 16th, 2007. He was 44 years old. Loving son of Leonie (nee Menard) Sanche and Norbert Sanche predeceased 1987; step son of Bill Lavigne. Dear brother of Noel wife Linda and their daughters Brittany and Myranda (Thunder Bay) also Kallida of Sudbury. Predeceased by his brother Guy Sanche (1997). Also predeceased by his memere & pepere Joe & Clarisse (Charette) Menard and memere & pepere Jean-Noel and Josephine Sanche. Claude graduated with honours in Social Work from Canadore College. He was also a Personal Support Worker and worked at Community Living Greater Sudbury. He loved basketball and woodworking. Claude will be sadly missed by his 3 nieces, his good friend Neil Crouse, many friends from Thunder Bay and North Bay and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
