Cloutier Marie-Laure, Soeur 1916 - 2007 À l’Infirmerie générale des Petites Franciscaines de Marie de Baie Saint-Paul, le 21 juillet 2007, à l’âge de 91 ans, nous a quittés sœur Marie-Laure Cloutier, p.f.m., en religion sœur Marie-Rose-Anna, après 67 ans de profession religieuse dans la Congrégation des Petites Franciscaines de Marie et demeurant au 65, Ambroise-Fafard à Baie Saint-Paul. Elle était la fille de feu M. Donat Cloutier et de feu dame Rose-Anna Baril. Les funérailles de sœur Marie-Laure Cloutier auront lieu ce mardi 24 juillet 2007, en la Chapelle du Sacré-Coeur de la Maison Mère à Baie Saint-Paul. Le service sera célébré à 10h et l’inhumation se fera au cimetière de la Congrégation. VITIELLO, “Sam“ Salvatore - In loving memory of Salvatore “Sam“ Vitiello, 76 years of Sudbury who passed away Saturday, July 21st, 2007 at the SRH St. Joseph Health Center. He was born in Island of Ponza, Latina, Italy, and married Civita (Onorato) in 1959 in Sudbury. Salvatore came to Sudbury in 1957 from Italy. He was a foreman with the CPR retiring in 1988 with 35 years service. He was a hardworker and accomplished handyman. He was always quick to help others with a repair or renovation project. He was devoted to his loving family. Beloved husband of Civita (Onorato) Vitiello of Sudbury. Loving father of Joanne Conte of Plymouth, Michigan, David (wife Sue) of Woodstock and Moe of Montreal. CHURCHILL, Arthur Vernon “Vern” - of Blenheim, passed away Friday July 20, 2007 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus. Vern was born in Saskatchewan 91 years ago to Annie (Kirchner) and Alvin Churchill. Recently, Vern celebrated 60 years of marriage to his loving wife Jane (Henderson). He is survived by his son Donald “Don” Churchill and his wife Carmel of Freeport Bahamas, Douglas “Doug” Churchill and his wife Laurie of Chatham, Gary Churchill of Toronto, and his son-in-law Douglas Brown and his friend Lynne Hume of Lakefield. Grandchildren include Kenroy, Nicholas, and Jacob Churchill, Andrew Brown and his wife Elizabeth and Elizabeth Corriveau and her husband Stephen. Also surviving are brothers Howard Churchill of British Columbia, and Everett Churchill of Saskatchewan, a sister Winnie Churchill, and a sister-in-law Dora Churchill. Vern is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a daughter Shirley Brown, a brother Lorne Churchill and a sister-in-law Gertie Churchill. Gionet, domicilié aux Résidences Mgr Chiasson, mais autrefois de Bas-Caraquet. Il était fils de feu Maxime M. Gionet et de feu Célestine Gionet. Il laisse dans le deuil une soeur, Maria (Emilio Frigault) de Valleyfield, Qc; un frère, Paul (Wilma Lego) de l'Ontario, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Un frère, Constant, l'a précédé dans la tombe. M. Gionet était un vétéran de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 13h, le mardi 24 juillet, au salon de l'église de Bas-Caraquet. She was in the 66th year of her religious profession. She was born in Louisdale, N.S., the daughter of Lawrence Samson and Margaret Linden. Besides her religious family, she is survived by several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by one brother, Alfred Samson; and seven sisters, Marie Vermette, Béatrice MacNeil, Almeda Goyetche, Florence Samson, Almeda Samson, Margaret Ross and Edna Boyd. Sister spent the greater part of her life working as a nurse in Chéticamp, N.S., Dalhousie, N.B., Pincher Creek, Alberta; Sydney, N.S., and Moncton, N.B. The remains will be resting at 553 Elmwood Drive, on Monday, July 23rd, 2007 from 2 o'clock p.m. on. KAUFMANN, Elliott. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elliott on July 21, 2007. Elliott was the loving husband of Frances Klein with whom he spent several happy, wonderful years. Father to Michael, Stephen and Paul, step-father to Cheryl, Ronald and Mitchel, grandfather to Maureen, Rachel, Zachary, Talia, Aaron and Joel and a friend to many. He was predeceased by sisters Bernice, Mina and Rosalind and is survived by his aunt Evelyn and cousins Bob and Julia Levine, Helen Clark and others. At seventy-seven years old, Elliott lived a full life, working, playing, creating, loving, 30+ years of dedicated service to the Canadian Ski Patrol, always in motion, always reaching for the next horizon. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. AREVIAN, John (Onnik) Died peacefully at home on July 21, 2007. His wife Diko was at his side. John was born in Istanbul, Turkey on Nov. 22, 1922. As a young man he had a successful career with Phillips in Istanbul and later started a prosperous retail business. Following the civil unrest against Christian minorities of Sept. 5 and 6, 1955, he decided to move his young family to North America. John immigrated to Montreal in 1956. He was co-owner of Avenue Hardware on Greene Ave., Westmount and in 1975 transformed this business to Lumiere Arevco/Arevco Lighting, a speciality lighting store. During his early years in Montreal he worked extensively in the Armenian community, particularly with the Armenians from Istanbul Organization. He helped establish the first Armenian church in Montreal, Sourp Hagop. In 2003, he moved to Ottawa. John will be dearly missed by his son Greg, daughter Hera and her husband Dr. Robert Ward, wife Dikranuhi, sisters-in-law, Diruhi Arsenian and Silva Alexanian, grandchildren Simon and Chloe Arevian, Olivia, Laura and Ian Ward. John was a man of charm and distinction who will be lovingly remembered by many. A special thank you to Dr. Popescu, Dr. Potoczny, the doctors of the Community Palliative Care Network and the staff of the Palliative Home Care Program. CARVISH, Edward Godfrey Peacefully, on Saturday, July 21, 2007, age 85. Predeceased by his loving wife and best friend, Eileen. Survived by his loving daughters; Deborah, Sandra Odoysk (Fredric) and her children Natalie and the late Stephen. He was the son of the late Dominic and Pearl Carvish. Brother of: Kathleen (the late Romeo Gionet), Lawrence "Lorne" (the late Margaret), Dorothy (Clifford Harris), Kenneth (Diane). Predeceased by his siblings; Samuel (Audrey), Lloyd (Ginette), Robert, and Ellen (Joseph Delorme). He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Edward was a long-time employee of the LCBO beginning as a clerk, then served as the manager of the first self-serve store in Ottawa and retired from the 1980 Bank Street Store. NOLAN, LOUISE BEATRICE - The death of Louise Beatrice Nolan of Hampton, NB and formerly of Maccan, NS, widow of Lee F. Nolan occurred Thursday, July 19th, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Saint John, daughter of the late John and Ruby (Watters) Halsall. Louise and her husband started the Amateur Ham Radio Club in Maccan. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge. Louise enjoyed crocheting and was well known for her cooking. She is survived by three daughters, Shaaron Thompson, Hampton, NB, Linda (Lyn) Nolan, Dartmouth, NS, Geri Nolan-Hilfiker, Summerville, NS; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. STILES, RUBY JANE (JINSON) - Surrounded by her family, Ruby Jane (Jinson) Stiles of Sommerville, NB, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, July 20th, 2007. Born October 10th, 1927 she was the youngest and last surviving child of Willie and Martha (Rideout) Jinson. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by five sisters, four brothers and one grandson, Darin Stiles. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of 61 years, Gerald; children, Sherman (Kim), Sharon (Merlin Dow) and Brian (Trudy). Grammie will be greatly missed by Julie (Brian), Nicole, Jason, Trevor, Justin, Brady, Zachary and Hilary. Also mourning her passing are several nieces and nephews. TOMLINSON, Frank 1913 - 2007 On Thursday, July 19, 2007 our beloved dad, grandad, great-grandad and brother passed away peacefully to join Anne, his wife of sixty-three years, who predeceased Frank in 1998. He was also predeceased by his parents Bill and Agnes and his brothers Jack and Chuck. He is survived by his sons, Gerry (Lenore), Tony (Betty) and Rob (Fran); grandchildren, Neal (Maria), Ian (Deanne), April, Jennifer (Brian), Angela, Mike (Coral), Mark (Robin); and seven great-grandchildren as well as his brother Pat (Barb) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. During his week in hospital he was constantly surrounded by loving family. Frank was born in Winnipeg and moved to Calgary in 1921. He worked for the CPR for forty-eight years and served his country in the Royal Canadian Navy. He was an avid gardener, a willing participant in family projects and took great delight in all family events. Frank enjoyed ice and roller skating, dancing and the big bands. As his idol Lawrence Welk would say "Turn off the bubble machine" In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to the Calgary Health Trust - Carewest Sarcee C3, 1070 MacDougall Road N.E., Calgary, T2E 7Z9.
