MITCHELL, Margaret Eunice (nee Reid) April 30, 1928 June 27, 2007 Suddenly, on a flight from Calgary to Ottawa on June 26 2007, Eunice took ill and the plane was diverted to Saskatoon where she died the following day despite the great care of the Coronary Care Unit of the Royal University Hospital. With the superlative efforts of WestJet support staff, all of her children and some of her grandchildren from Calgary and Ottawa were able to be with her. She leaves her devoted husband Stan, daughter Alice (David Craig), sons David (Maureen), Kenneth (Ashley) and grandsons Kevin, Colin, Alexander, Scott, Stephen and Logan. A private cremation, attended by the family took place in Saskatoon. A memorial service is planned for later this summer in Ottawa. O'MEARA, Shirley Mary (nee Chabot) "Mom" peacefully passed on July 1, 2007 at the age of 68 after a tremendous defiant battle with Alzheimers. Beloved wife of the late Patrick J. O'Meara. She will fondly be remembered as a caring and compassionate "Mom and Gramma" by her sons Shawn (Heather), Timothy (Collette), Rodney (Karen) and her grandchildren Corey, Chantal, Kirk, Brandon, Kaitlyn and Ryan. Shirley will be sadly missed by her sisters Rose, Connie (Don), Ardel (the late Bill), Gwen (the late Don) and brothers Roger (Betty), Bernie (Linda), sister-in-law Bridgitte, brother-in-law Pat and her many nieces and nephews. Eileen Marie McKinney (Blowing Wind) Peacefully on February 18, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre, with her family at her side, Eileen McKinney passed away at the age of 43 years. Mourning her passing are her three children; two sons: Preston (Lisa) and Georgie; one daughter: Theresa (Wendell); her mother, Margaret Myran-James; ten sisters: Gloria (Jim), Cynthia, Millie, Mirinda, Diane (Gaylord), Norma, Tracey (Rob), Angela (John), Pauline (Rodrick) and Paula (Craig); four brothers: Dwayne (Carolyn), Brian (Janet), Paul, Willie (Leona); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and in-laws. She was predeceased by her sister Lorna McKinney; her father William McKinney Jr.; her grandfather William McKinney Sr.; four uncles: Tony McKinney, Fred McKinney, Chief Roy McKinney, Bob McKinney; and by her stepfather Harry James. Eileen grew up with her traditional teachings dancing and practiced her beliefs. She loved what she brought to others, love, warmth and laughter. Many will remember her as a caring spirit and her love for her children, family and her love for dancing, The Hoop Dance. Eileen grew up in Swan Lake and later moved to Winnipeg where she continued her traditional ways. Eileen had a great gift and she shared that with everyone. Throughout the years Eileen travelled around the world and shared her Hoop Dance with everyone including the Queen, whom she danced for in Yugoslavia. Eileen also known as "Blowing Wind" will be remembered for her sense of humour. Claude Rivard 1931-2007 Peacefully at his home in St. Eustache, Man on Thursday April 12, 2007, Claude left us at the age of 75 years. POGUBILA, Evan Cole May 8, 2006 - June 26, 2007 "Mr. Boogaloo" has gone to play with the angels. Evan passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving parents, Melanie and Frank Pogubila of Calgary. Evan's courageous battle ended at Toronto Sick Kids Hospital at the tender age of 13 months. He will be sadly missed by his twin sister, Jordan Pogubila; his great-grandparents, Sylvia Preston and J.J. OLSON, Karl Lindburgh 1931 - 2007 Karl Olson, beloved husband of Vicki, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the age of 76 years. RONAGHAN, Kenneth (Ken) Robert June 14, 1923 - June 30, 2007 It is with heavy hearts that we report the passing of Kenneth (Ken) Ronaghan on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Besides his loving wife Joan, Ken leaves two sons Bob (wife Debby; grandchildren Natalie and Daniel) and Ken Jr. (Sparky) (wife Marty; and grandchildren Ashley and Tynon). He is remembered by two brothers Walter (wife Dora), of Kelowna, BC and Frank (wife Stella) of Calgary, AB; and one sister Jean, of Rocky Mountain House, AB. Ken was born in Islay, AB and spent his teen years in Turner Valley (Mercury Camp) where he finished High School, firstly at NTVHS and finally at STVHS (Little Chicago - Royalties) before working a year in the Gas and Oil Refinery at Hartell, AB as a lab assistant and plant operator. Ken then served in the RCAF until 1946 after which he attended the University of Alberta for four years in Chemical Engineering. He began his professional career with Royalite Oil (later bought by Gulf Oil) from which he retired in 1985. Ken continued his work consulting to Alberta Oil Sands Technology Research Authority (AOSTRA) for a further four years. SWYRIPA, Dale William 1967 - 2007 Dale William Swyripa (Uncle Cookie), beloved husband of Jennifer, of Calgary, left us suddenly on Friday, June 29, 2007, at the age of 39 years. Dale was born on December 12, 1967 in Edmonton. He obtained his degree as a Geologist from the University of Alberta and then married Jennifer on August 19, 1995. He began his career with Merlyn Petroleum in Calgary where he has worked for many years. Dale was a loving and devoted father who had tremendous pride in his sons' accomplishments and was always there to support their endeavours. HUGHES, Thomas ‘Tom' William - (1936-2007) - It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Thomas ‘Tom' William Hughes on June 30, 2007 at the Bluewater Health Palliative Care. Surrounded by his family, Tom succumbed to a brief but courageous battle with cancer. His character throughout the fight will always remain a source of inspiration. Born in 1936 in Westmount, Quebec, Tom was the son of the late Martin & Mary Hughes. After many years of work with local insulators union 95 in Sarnia, Tom moved to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where he met his wife and life companion Wenda Lee Walker. They returned to Sarnia area in 1978 and together he and Wendy raised their three children. Tom was president of Hughes Industrial Inc., a company he founded in 1994 and continued as president until the onset of his illness in March 2007. Tom was a devout sports fan and a lifelong supporter of the Montreal Canadiens, but his true passion was for the Notre Dame Football team and proudly flew the flag in honour of the team. Tom will be fondly remembered by the many young boys he coached in hockey in the Corunna area and by those he served so well as president of the Mooretown Flags hockey team from 1987-1989. He most recently sat proudly on the executive of the Sarnia Sturgeon Football organization. As well, the years he spent as a ‘Big Brother' without a doubt enriched the lives of those he touched. 10724746

Neil worked over 30 years with Teahen Home Hardware (Beaver Lumber), was an avid outdoorsman, a member of the Homebuilders Association, the Confederation Golf Club and the Lambton Conservation Association.
