Dora Jean Geldart 1910 - 2007 Dora Geldart, of Riverview, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, June 16th 2007 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Reginald (Rex) Geldart. Born and raised in Hopewell Hill, NB, she was the daughter of Clare and Jennie Robinson. During her working career she was employed by the T Eaton Company for three different periods. After her marriage she resided in Elgin for 18 years, then moved to Riverview where she and her husband ran the Fundy 5¢ - $1.00 Store on Coverdale Road. They later resided on Llangollen Road. She returned to Riverview in 1994 where she lived independently until her illness. She attended the Allison Baptist Church in Moncton. A devoted mother and grandmother, Dora will be sadly missed by daughters, Sandra Gould (Ronald) of Riverview, and Marcia Hicks (James Munn) of Bedford, N.S.; grandchildren, Shelley Forsyth of Mississauga, Meredith Arsenault (Stephen) of Riverview, Christian Hicks (Melanie) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Andrea Andriopoulos (Dimitri) of Halifax, and Alan Hicks (Laura Lynn) of McKee's Mills; step-grandchildren, Diane McKeown (John) and Walter Kley of New York; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her step-daughter, Vivian Kley (Wesley); sisters, Evelyn and Adelia (Dell) Wilbur; brothers, Arnold, Clark, and Orland. Visitation will be held from Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19th, 2007 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, June 20th, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Morehouse officiating. FLETCHER, John Palmer February 20, 1911 - June 15, 2007 Peacefully, at his home on June 15, 2007, surrounded by his family. John was the son of the late Caroline Anne and Howard Allan George Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jean. Trained as a physician at the University of Toronto, John graduated in 1936. In the early stages of his career John pursued a research career with Charles H. Best, co-discoverer of insulin. When World War II began, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Medical Corps, where he served for five years with distinction, winning the Military Cross and the St. George Cross for his courage during the Battle of Jelsi in 1943. On his return from Europe in 1945, John returned to medical research with a special interest in pediatric medicine. He felt ever more drawn to the practice of pediatric medicine and in the late 1940s left research to pursue this interest. The family moved to Ottawa in 1956, where, because of health problems, he became a corporate physician with Bell Canada. With his health restored and missing the experience of working with children, he returned to private practice in 1962. He retired in 1986 at the age of 75. He is survived by his three daughters: Mary, Susan and Frances; three sons-in-law, Robert Hudgins, John Freeman and Edmund Clark; eight grandchildren, John and Alan Ramunas, Delbert, Jean, Hugh and Caroline Clark, and Lauren and Jessica Hudgins; as well as five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 21, 2007, at the Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa, 30 Cleary Avenue at 2:00 p.m. John's daughters would like to thank the CCAC, DVA, and Comcare, especially Lois Francis, Janet Hinton, and Mary Elizabeth Groulx, who cared for him in his final years. Dr. Julie Jenner of the Centretown Community Health Centre in Ottawa gave him the wise and compassionate care he had provided to his own patients. HUMPHREY, JAMES E. (TED) The passing of James E. (Ted) Humphrey, husband of Myrtis (Dickie) Humphrey, occurred on June 18, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 22, 1925 in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late James and Rita (Weir) Humphrey. Ted always loved being by the ocean, he spent many summers vacationing at Point DuChene, NB, after his retirement he spent time in Malagash, NS. Ted will be remembered in NS for his courier business ZOT Transportation. Ted was a Veteran of WWII in the Merchant Marines as a wireless operator. Beside his wife of 59 years Myrtis, Ted is survived by his only daughter, Jane Dick of Fredericton, NB; his grandsons Michael Dick of Waterloo and Josh Dick (Lisa) of Fredericton. Besides his parents, Ted is predeceased by one sister and two brothers. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, June 21, 2007 from 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home's, T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 1 pm with Canon Jon Lownds. NORMAN, PAULINE TRESEA - The death of Pauline Tresea Norman of Long Point, NB, widow of Maurice W. Norman occurred June 16, 2007 at the Sussex Health Centre. She was born in 1915 in Yonkers, New York, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Vlasity) Sokol. Her late husband and four children were her whole life. Polly was also known for her great carrot cakes. She was an avid reader. Polly is survived by three daughters, Barbara Ellen Charrin, Long Point, Nancy Gail Glass, Oceanside, California, Melissa Sherry (John), Washington, State; one son, Maurice "Butch" Norman (Beverly), Williamsburg, Virginia; three sisters, Anna Bonci, New York, Irene Detz, Yonkers, New York, Margaret Percio, New York; one granddaughter, Lori Nellis (Jon), California; two great grandchildren, Phoebe and William Nellis; several nieces and nephews. Helen V. Geddes 1916-2007 Helen V. Geddes of Moncton passed away on Sunday, June 17th, 2007 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in New Zion, NB on August 11th, 1916, she was the only child of the late Alpin and Margaret Richardson. She leaves behind six children, Betty Brace (late Bonar) of Mount Eagle, NB, Charlotte Crawford (late Charles) of Caissie Cape, Merton Geddes (Betty), Scotch Settlement, NB, Margaret Lewis (Kenneth) of Prince George, BC, William Geddes (Corinne) of Upper Coverdale, NB, and Verlie LeBlanc (Ronnie) of Moncton, NB. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and by two great-great grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Allan H. Geddes on January 27th, 1991 as well as three grandchildren; and by two sons-in-law. Service will be held from Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 20th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. F. Anne Humphrey F. Anne Humphrey of Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday June 17, 2007. Born in Moncton she was the daughter of the late William and Augusta (Barnes) Humphrey. Anne was a member of Central United Church, member of the Sir Charles Roberts I.O.D.E., member Mount Allison University Alumni and was an avid bridge player. Anne was deeply loved by all her family and friends and will be missed. Elsa is met in heaven by her parents, her 2 sons and her husband Domenico (Barber at Picton and Ferguson for over 50 years).
