Bermand (Barber) Allain 1939 - 2007 BOUCTOUCHE, NB - Bermand (Barber) Allain, age 68, of Irving Blvd. Bouctouche, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday June 14th, 2007 at the Saint-John Regional Hospital. Married to Yvonne (Née Richard) Allain, he was born in Bouctouche on March 2nd, 1939 to the late Donat (Barber) and the late Béatrice (Née Hébert) Allain. Bermand was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus with the Mgr. Philippe Hébert Council of Bouctouche, and an avid hunter. Bermand is survived by his wife, Yvonne; one daughter, Mylene LeBlanc (Ricky) of Dieppe, Réjean (France) of Shédiac; two grandchildren, Alexi and Kamie; also survived by five sisters, Blandine Cormier (Albénie) of Bouctouche, Jeannine Collette (Conrad) of Dieppe, Ethel Allain-Villeneuve (Lucien) of Moncton, Odile Hébert (Michel) of Charlesbourg, Que., Rosemonde LeBlanc (Paul) of Cocagne; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Doris, Viola; and one brother, Omer. Visitations will be held at the Maillet Funeral Home Ltd., 29 rue de l'église, Bouctouche on Sunday June 17th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday from 2 to 3:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday June 18th, at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche at 4:00 pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Neri Boucher 1932 - 2007 ACADIEVILLE, NB - Neri Boucher, 75 years, from Acadieville, formerly of Grande-Digue, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 13th, 2007 at the Moncton City Hospital. Born on May 12th, 1932, he was the son of the late Henri Boucher and the late Marie Caissie. He is survived by his spouse, Lorette Pineau; two daughters, Maria (Ken) Jordan of Halifax and Darlene (Pierre) Boudreau of Shediac; two sons, Maurice (Sandy) Boucher and Ricky (Sandra) Boucher, both of Halifax; three sisters, Rita Surette and Geneva (James) Daigle, both of Moncton and Lorette (Oscar) Cormier of Shediac; two brothers, Joseph (Geneva) Boucher of Moncton and Gerard (Zelia) Boucher of Shediac Bridge; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Leandre and John. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Acadieville at 10am on Monday, June 18th, 2007, from where the funeral service will be conducted at 11am. Orpha N. Robblee 1919 - 2007 Orpha N. Robblee of Moncton passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, June 15th, 2007. Born in Moncton, on August 29th, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Laura (Patriquin) Ramsay. A veteran of the Second World War, Orpha served with the WAC achieving the rank of Sergeant. She was employed with the T. Eaton Co. Ltd, and the CIBC. She attended the Cherryfield UBC, and held many offices in the Loyal True Blue Association. Orpha is survived by her sons, Douglas and William (Barbara) all of Moncton; a brother, Arthur Ramsay (Jennny) of B.C.; grandson, Troy (Sheri) of Kitchener; granddaughters, Jennifer and Laura of Moncton; as well as niece's, Sharon, Carol and Linda; and nephews, Bob, Rodney, and Stephen. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James A. sisters, Pauline, Marjorie and Millie. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday, June 17th from 6 to 8:30 pm. Ruth Hickey 1916 - 2007 UPPER REXTON, NB - Ruth Hickey, wife of the late Henry Hickey, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the Stella Maris Hospital, St. Anne de Kent, NB, at the age of 90 years. Born in Upper Rexton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Finno and Sarah (Hicks) Finno. She attended St. John the Evangelist Church, Rexton. Ruth was a strong farm woman and an avid gardener. She loved the land and her animals. She was a crusader for the Canadian Cancer Society and a valued member of the St. John's Anglican Church. She was a member of the Canadian Hereford Association and a member of the Ladies Anglican Guild and sat on the vestry. Ruth will be sadly missed by her son, Bruce and daughter-in-law, Darlene, Upper Rexton; three granddaughters, Patty Jo, Bobby Jo and Sammy Jo; and one grandson, Michael; several friends, Vida Finno, Evelyn Mundle, John G. Pearce, Ethan and Denver Ferguson; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Henry; brothers, Joe, Jack, Bill, Harrison (Vida), Kent; and sister, Janet (Sydney). Il laisse son épouse Jeannette D'Amours de Kapuskasing, 3 belles-filles: Doris Coutu de Sturgeon Falls, Jo-Ann Dozois de République Dominicaine, Lyne Gauthier épouse de Michel de Kapuskasing; 3 beaux-fils: Ronald Audet époux de Denise, Laurent Audet époux de Lisette de Val Rita, Luc Audet de Kapuskasing; 1 soeur: Thérèse Caron de La Pocatière ainsi que 13 petits-enfants et 11 arrière-petits-enfants. Il fut prédécédé par ses frères et soeurs: Joseph, Charles, Jeanne Jean, Anna Rioux, Jean-Baptiste, Achille, Marie-Louise Favreau, Alice Pelletier, Appolinaire, Gérard, Roland et Rose Vandal. Le service funèbre a eu lieu le samedi 16 juin 2007 en l'église Immaculée-Conception Kapuskasing avec le père Jean-Paul Décarie comme célébrant. L'inhumation a suivi au cimetière de Kapuskasing. Mr. D’Amours was born on Feb. 2, 1916 in Trois-Pistoles, Quebec. He was a health counsellor. Mr. D’Amours was the first teacher in Gregoire Mills and owned a sawmill on Chain Lakes Road. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, fourth degree, the Golden Age Club, a counsellor for the Addiction Research Foundation and a school council member for many years. He enjoyed fishing, reading and travelling. He is survived by his wife Jeannette; step daughters: Doris Coutu of Sturgeon Falls, Jo-Ann Dozois of the Dominican Republic and Lyne (Michel) Gauthier of Kapuskasing; step sons: Ronald (Denise) Audet, Laurent (Lisette) of Val Rita and Luc Audet of Kap; sister Thérèse Caron of La Pocatière, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mr. D’Amours was predeceased by many brothers and sisters: Jos, Charles, Jeanne Jean, Anna Rioux, Jean-Baptiste, Achille, Marie-Louise Favreau, Alice Pelletier, Appolinaire, Gérard, Roland and Rose Vandal. Father Jean-Paul Décarie led the funeral service June 16 at Immaculée Conception. Mr. D’Amours was be interred at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. He adored camping and traveling our wonderful province of Ontario. Barry was the owner/operator of Horseshoe Lake campground for many years. He adored his wife and married her, his soul mate Cathrine on July 22nd, 1999 here in Timmins. MARROTTE, Gordon L. P Eng With great sadness the family of Gordon wish to notify friends, neighbors, and associates of his passing on June 4, 2007. Predeceased by his loving wife Lois, brother Arthur, daughter Margo. Survived by his daughters Mary Louise and Kathleen (Ken.) Gordon was born in Montreal, graduating from McGill University with an electrical engineering degree. Employed by Montreal Light, Heat and Power Co. until he joined the Canadian Army where he taught anti aircraft radar in Halifax until he was sent overseas. After the war he returned to Hydro Quebec until moving to Vancouver in 1966. He was employed by engineering firms, Vancouver School Board and B.C. Hydro until his retirement in 1983. During the period of 1950 to 1962 served as an officer of a reserve regiment of RCEME in Montreal, rising to command of that regiment. In Vancouver served for 3 years as Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of the 12th (Vancouver) Service Battalion of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve. His active interest in the reserves remained with him all of his life. Gordon's main interest in life was meeting and helping people, being a Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, President of a Home and School Association, his Military associations, Engineering associations, and social associations. He was always cheerful and in very good wit, he brightened many a dull day for the people around him. No service by request. Sincere thanks to the staff and residents of Inglewood Care Centre for making his last six months so enjoyable and to Dr. W. Smith and Dr. D. Cameron for all their care over the years. FISHER, Dr. James Edgerson Oliver - November 22, 1942 - June 7, 2007 - The sudden and unexpected loss of Dr. Jim Fisher at his home earlier this month has been a difficult thing to reckon with. Jim was born to the late Hilliard and Laura Fisher and was raised with his two sisters, Sharon and Laureen, in the Belleville area. In 1968, he graduated with honours from Queen's Medical School in Kingston. In 1973, Dr. Fisher moved to the Kitchener-Waterloo area where he practised Anaesthesiology for 16 years and raised his daughter Kimberly, his son Gregory and his daughter Julia, along with his wife Karen. Dr. Fisher went on to establish a successful family practice in St. Catherine's, Ontario and resided in Stevensville, near Fort Erie at the time of his passing. He will be greatly missed by his wife Sheila and his loss will be mourned by his entire family. HAYWARD, H. Douglas - Peacefully in his sleep at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Wednesday June 13, 2007 in his 91st year. Douglas, loving husband of 59 years to Joyce. Beloved father of Scott (Beth), Anthony, and Sally (Bob Kyler) Lovingly remembered by grandsons Allan and Simon Hayward, and Colin (Laura), Cameron and Matthew McDougall, Patrick Hayward and Trevor Kyler. Predeceased by 2 brothers, one of whom died in W.W.II in a Japanese concentration camp. Doug never got over this, and 5 sisters. He is survived by one brother and 2 sisters-in-law. Doug was a veteran with the Royal Air Force for six years and a member of the South African Air Force for 3 years. He was a member of Garden City Productions for 44 years, a member of St. Thomas Church choir, a past warden and a Honourary Life Warden. In April he was presented with the “Order of Niagara“ by Bishop Spence and received the Volunteer of the year award from the City of St. Catharines in 2006. He retired from General Motors in 1982. He will be missed by many who know him: his kind nature and his true passion for what is right. Doug was loved and revered by all who knew him, he gave more than he received. He was singing in the church choir, tenor section the day before he got sick. There will be a large void in all our lives. We thank the Para Medics, Nurses on C3W and of course Dr. Redman. LAPSLEY, Marcia Henrietta (nee Lyons) - 1940 - 2007 - Marcia Henrietta Lapsley passed away swiftly at the Foothills Hospital on Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Devoted wife of John Lapsley of Calgary. Beloved and loving mother to John Mitchell Lapsley and Cheryl Lapsley of Portland, Oregon and Andrew Zoltan Lapsley and Kimberly Lapsley of Morristown, New Jersey. Engaged and active grandmother to John Joseph, Andrew James, Madeleine Adams and namesake Marci Rose. Survived by her sister Beverly and her husband Zoltan, as well as sister Bonnie; as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father Cecil, step-father Myron (Mike) and mother Gerda and as well as brother Terry. In her youth, Marcia was a scholar and an athlete, and loved to dance and figure skate. After a career as an artisan, as an entrepreneur and finally in the energy industry, Marcia dedicated her life to service in various forms. She devoted time in her life to community theatre, local historical societies, served as a little league baseball coach, and was a stalwart life member of the IODE. Marcia served in national, provincial and municipal leadership positions for the IODE, most recently founding the newest chapter. Marcia was kind and caring to all she knew, and wanted ever to make other people comfortable and supported. Many called her Mom, and mourn her passing.
