Beloved wife of the late Merle. Dear mother of Donna Gowthorpe (Geoff), Faye Bruyea (Greg), Cheryl Damery (Bill), and Gary (deceased). Survived by her sister Helen Kennedy. George Robert (Sandy) Bates 1957-2007 George Robert (Sandy) Bates passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 in the Moncton Hospital following a long fight with leukemia. Sandy is survived by his loving wife Patricia; son, Travis of Memramcook; mother, Beatrice Frey of Calgary, AB; brother, Gordon (Niesje) Bates, Calgary AB; brother, Dave (Peggy) Bates, Barrhead, AB; sister, Joan Bates, Red Deer, AB; brother, Glenn (Judi) Bates, Wetaskiwin, AB; sister, Thelma (Leo) Gingras, Spruce Grove, AB; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins in Alberta and Ontario. Sandy will also be sadly missed by his many friends including Travis's Ma-mère Marie-Stella Landry, Ann Johnson Anderson and Paul Anderson, and Nicole and Ken Tower. Sandy was predeceased by his stepfather Clayton Frey in 2002. Sandy was born in Englehart ON, November 11, 1957 to Beatrice and George Bates, but moved to a farm in Thorhild Alberta when he was very young. Sandy worked in the oilfield as a swamper in Swan Hills after graduation and learned to drive truck. He made many friends in his travels and was predeceased by his fellow trucker and best friend Victor Dowhan. Sandy worked for a time hauling out of Smoky Lake Alberta and his passion at that time was his Little Red Express Dodge pickup. After moving to New Brunswick he drove for RST for 12 years pulling B-train oil tankers, until failing health forced him to an early retirement. Sandy loved to dabble in home renovations for himself and special friends. Sandy was a past Social Director of P.A.C.E. where he met his beloved Patti. He was an associate member of the Moncton Air Force Veteran's Club where he loved to play pool and where he and Pat were married in 2003. He was also a tenor in the Metrotones pop chorus. Special thanks from Sandy's family to all the staff at the Moncton Hospital. All who knew Sandy loved his wonderful sense of humor; always teasing and joking. His loving smile and warm hugs won over every heart. Sandy lived for his son Travis, and he raised him well, guiding him with respect, pride and a never-ending love. There will be a visitation Sunday evening at Fair Haven Funeral Home between 7 :00 and 9 :00 PM. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 28th 2007 in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home. McSHANE - Mrs. Phyllis McShane of Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, passed away on May 23, 2007 at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Clements) Robinson and was the wife of the late Crandall McShane who passed away in 1982. Phyllis is survived by six daughters: Joan Mallory (Donald) of NewLine, Mona Mallory (Reynold) of Apohaqui, Lois Carr (Peter) of Apohaqui, Joyce Virtue (Wayne) of Wards Creek, Faye Monahan (Frank) of Lower Millstream and Karen Kilpatrick (Phillip) of Urney Rd; her son, Ronald of Lower Millstream and her brother, Vernon Robinson of Kierstead Mountain; her brother-in-law Roger Ermen, 12 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Phyllis is predeceased by two sisters: Kathleen Robinson and Agnes Ermen and by her infant brother Frankie. HASS, Donald “Don“ Gussie - In loving memory of Donald “Don“ Gussie Hass who passed away on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Centre, he was 61 years young. He was a champion snowmobile racer and a well known mechanic. He worked hard making maple syrup and founding his own firewood and logging business. He found great pleasure and relaxation with hunting, fishing, dog training and family outings. Donald will always be thought of as a family man. His devotion to his family and friends was and always will be carried in the hearts of those he loved. BERGERON, Lional Y. - age 60 of Moira, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone where he had been a patient since May 18, 2007. Born on September 6, 1946 in Cornwall, Ontario, he is the son of the late Albert Bergeron and Cecile Vanier Bergeron of Cornwall, Ontario. He attended Brushton- Moira High School. For many years he owned and operated a Dairy Farm in Moira. He was currently working for National Safety Wear in Moira as a Fabric Cutter. He enjoyed shooting pool and shuffleboard on different leagues in the area. He also enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Brushton. On May 3, 1969 he was united in marriage to Marsha Latulipe at St. Joseph's Church in Bombay. She survives. Survivors include his mother Cecile Bergeron of Cornwall, Ontario; one son Scott Bergeron and companion Melissa Martin of Brushton; three daughters Mary Ann and William Hadlock of Moira, Michele Woods of Moira and Lise Bergeron and companion Nicholas Woodward of Malone; one sister Aline and Arthur Bissonnette of Cornwall, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father. Friends may call at the Flint Funeral Home, Moira on Friday, May 25, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Brushton with the Rev.
