GAUS, Mr. George - At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007 Mr. George Gaus of Chatham in his 85th year. Mr. Gaus was born in Haarlem, Holland and was the loving son of the late Simon and Toni Gaus. Beloved husband of the late Jansje (2002). Loving father of Art Gaus and Anne Williams-Gaus of London, and George and his wife Leishua Gaus of Chatham. Dear brother of Tonia Mica of Holland. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Emily, Ben, Rachel, and Janell. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. George was a long time contributor to Chatham's Minor Hockey and Baseball Association. Dear mother of Victoria Kent of Las Vegas, Donna Elie (and husband Robert) of Sarnia, Veronica Mallette of Sarnia, Sylvia Roman of Point Edward (and fiancé Bill O'Brien of Brigden) and Susan Gillson Tweedy of Wyoming. Grandmother of Mike, Derek and Ryan Mallette, Kelly Goodwin, Gian-Paul Roman and Aaron Tweedy. Great grandmother to Trevor, Cory, Shelby, Isabella, and Juliana. Survived by sister Kathleen Duffy of Sarnia and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Archie and Margaret Whitehouse, brother George Whitehouse and son-in-law Norman Mallette. Born on March 14, 1920 in Fort William, Ontario, Margaret (Peggy) was raised in Thunder Bay, moved to the Sarnia area and resided in Bright's Grove, Sarnia, Point Edward and Watford for several years. She and her husband Robert Gillson retired to Victoria, B.C. for 19 years before returning to Sarnia (Twin Lakes Terrace) in February 2003. ROBBINS, Murray John Edwin - Murray Robbins died peacefully at his Golden Valley home on Thursday, May 24, 2007 in his 65th year. He was the beloved husband of Sharon Robbins (nee Adams) of Golden Valley. Murray was the loving father of Theresa Faucher (Mike Wedekind) of St. Catharines, Stephen Robbins (Gail Norman) of Wainfleet, Karen Van Der Weide (Tim) of Fenwick and John Robbins (Ada) of Wainfleet and is father-in-law of Janet Robbins of Fenwick. Murray was the proud grandfather of 16: Lee, Tony, Brette, Taylor, Jordan, Aaron, Travis, Michael, Elisha, Timothy, Christopher, Eric, John, Tamara, Brandalynn and Jedediah. He was the dear brother of Glen Robbins, Ken Robbins (Donna) and Myrna Angle (Lyle) all of Fenwick. Murray and Sharon retired to the Golden Valley area after a lifetime in Fenwick where Murray was an active member of the Lions Club and the fabulous Fenwick Volunteer Firefighters. NOVAK - The Reverend Nicholas, on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, at age 81. Minister of the Hungarian Presbyterian Church in Welland for 21 years, (1949- 1970). He was a gifted preacher and charismatic leader, loved and respected by his congregation. It was during his ministry that the church and manse were built. Predeceased by his brother, Leslie Novak, he leaves behind his children: Leslie, Nicholas Daniel Novak (Siobhan), Kathleen Barbara Dussome (Rick), five grandchildren Alicia, Amy, Cameron and Matthew Novak and Thomas Dussome, as well as his first wife, Magda (Madeline) Novak, many relatives, friends and members of the congregations he served both in Canada and the U.S. The Welland congregation, at the age 22, was his first charge, and remained dearest to his heart. A Memorial Service will be held for him on Saturday, June 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hungarian Presbyterian Church. HAIST - Pamela Muriel (nee Bailey) passed away at her home in Fenwick, with family around her, after a courageous battle with cancer, in her 83rd year, on May 23, 2007. Pam was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Vernon whom she always called Jimmy. Pam is survived by her four children and families. Tim and Linda and sons Ian (and Jennifer and great-granddaughter Kaitlyn) and Steven; Phil (now married to Judy) formerly married to Donna and daughter Tracy (and Greg McDonald and great-grandson Scott); Jim and Elena and daughters Claire, Leah and Julia; and Sarah and Bill Fletcher and sons Don and Derek and daughter Emily. Her love and joy in life will be greatly missed by family and friends. HALPERT, Miriam "Mickee" (nee Foreman). It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mickee following a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, May 24, 2007. Loving bride and soul mate for 58 years of Irving. Cherished daughter of the late Harry Foreman and the late Fay Foreman Liverman (Nana). ELLIS, Norah - It is with great sadness that the family of Norah Jean Ellis (nee MacLeod) announces her passing at Trenton Memorial Hospital on May 24, 2007, surrounded by the love of her children and her first grandchild, Janine. Mother was predeceased by our father, William Rennie (Bill) Ellis in 1985. She leaves her children Judith Bryson and son-in-law Ray, Patricia Pepper and son-in-law Donald, and Malcolm and daughter-in-law, Carolyn, grandchildren Janine Jackson-Hax, Sarah Jackson, Ryan Ellis and Amy Ellis and great-granddaughter Alexandria (Ali) Hax. She eagerly awaited the arrival of her second great-grandchild in September. She was sister to Doris Yungblut of Fonthill, Katharine MacLeod of Hamilton, and of the late Keith R., Bruce, Richard and Malcom MacLeod, all of Niagara Falls. Mother joined the Auxillary of Ajax Hospital when we moved there in 1953, and greatly enjoyed her work. On moving to Trenton in 1964, she became involved with Trenton Memorial Hospital, first through the Auxillary. She was invited to sit on the Hospital Board and later became Chairman. She was especially proud of the fine reputation of the Hospital, the creation of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation and the building of Trenton Memorial Lodge. She also served with the Ontario Hospital Association for many years. Mother was also active in the life of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Frankford. She served on Vestry and helping with luncheons. She was a caring parent, a steadfast role model and mentor to us all. Her wise counsel will be missed by family and friends alike.
