Elle était la fille de feu monsieur Joseph Ephraïm Bédard et de feu dame Marie-Ange Béland. Elle laisse dans le deuil, outre les membres de sa Communauté religieuse; ses sœurs et belle-sœur: Thérèse (feu Léon Taschereau), Françoise (feu Francis Bourque), Josette Ross (feu André Bédard) ainsi que des neveux et nièces. Sœur Bédard a vécu la majeure partie de sa vie d’éducatrice à St-Léonard, Nouveau-Brunswick, où elle laisse de nombreux ami(e)s. MYERS, MRS. JOAN MARIE (1932 - 2007) - Passed away on Sunday, May 20th, 2007 at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 74. Loving wife of fifty years to Douglas Myers of Pointe-du-Chêne (Parlee Beach Area) for the past 29 years. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ina (Mason) Gaudet. She worked for NB Tel in Saint John and in Moncton for a few years and then went on to work for Eaton's for many years as a phone operator at the main switchboard. Joan attended Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Pointe-du-Chene for many years. Besides her husband, Joan is survived by her children, Glenn (Coleen) of Coquitlam, BC, Troy (Nicole) of Riverview, NB and Gail (Steve Parrott) of Burlington, Ont.; brothers, Melvin Gaudet (Connie), Ronald Gaudet (Margie) all of Saint John; granddaughters, Krista & Melissa; and step grandchildren, Ashley, Emily and Wesley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. For much of her life Joan fought many illnesses. Her strong faith, joyful outlook and love of life will remain an inspiration to all who knew her. KARVINEN, Saimi Lillian (nee Koski) - With sad hearts the family announces the death of Saimi Lillian Karvinen at the age of 90 on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Laurentian Hospital in Sudbury. Saimi was born in Garson on November 23rd, 1916 to Nick and Maria Koski (both predeceased). Married to Edwin Karvinen (predeceased 1984) in 1942, she became the loving mother of Helen (Tinkis), William (wife Arja), Karl and Linda of Sudbury, and stepson Ronald Prediger (wife Lillian predeceased) of Sudbury; A dear grandma to Mark (predeceased March 2005), David, Debbie, Ronald Jr., Erik, Kristina and Eddie, and a cherished great-grandma to Katelyn, William, and Kristina. Predeceased by brother Reino, she is survived by sister (Winnie), and brothers (Tauno and Vaino) and numerous nephews and nieces. Saimi spent most of her life in the Sudbury area, residing for nearly 30 years on the farm in Wahnapitae with her husband Ed, where she was a stay at home mom who worked hard, brought up the kids and always made sure that the family was comfortable and well. She loved to garden and her flowers showed the pride of her effort. She was a woman of great inner strength and high morals who always put the interests of her family first. Her last 30 years were spent “in town“ where she had the opportunity to socialize with old friends, to make new ones and be part of the Finnish Senior's Club. From late 2004 until the present Saimi was a much-favoured resident of the Extendicare York nursing home where she kept busy telling jokes and stories to the staff. The family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to the wonderful and tireless care given to our mother by the staff at York. Donations to Heart and Stroke. ST. JACQUES, Rene - We lost our dad and grandfather suddenly at home on May 13th, 2007. We knew the day would come when we would have to say goodbye but we were all totally unprepared. He was loved by many. He had more living to do and he wanted to have more time to spend with his children and their families, Ron and Brenda, Gary and Diane, Darlene and Gilles, Denis and Elaina, Terry, Delphine and Andre, Joanne and Dan, Jeff and Carole. Rene married Louise St. Jacques in 1952 and he never stopped missing her after her early death in 1989. We know it was his love of family that continued to give his life meaning and great pleasure. There are many stories of our father that define his life. Many stories speak to the loving man, his mild nature, and his wonderful sense of humour that usually involved a practical joke on some unsuspecting person. He spent many good years at his cottage on Rock Lake with family and friends. He loved his weekly card games with his family. He particularly enjoyed the cruise this last February and longed for more trips like that. He will be missed by his many grandchildren, Ryan (Athena), Amanda (Sean), Maxine (Luc), Steven, Michael (Kim), Chris (Danielle), Ben, Adam, Melissa, Jordan, Pam, Gillian, Kyle, Alex, and Danielle. His life was made richer by his many good friends particularly the Matthieu, Depatie and Tooley families. He was loved by his brothers and sisters Irene (Jack), John (Yvette), Claire (Bob, predeceased), Rita (Brian), and those that predeceased him, Bea (Chuck), Theresa (Charlie), Ray (Marie) and Leo. Rene was a loving man who was always happiest it seemed when surrounded by his family. Our lives, in turn, were enriched by having shared his life. BOUDREAU, ERIC JOSEPH The death of Eric J. Boudreau of Quispamsis, husband of Doreen Boudreau, occurred Sunday, May 20th, 2007, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on October 6th, 1924 in Lower Montague, PEI, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ellen (Murphy) Boudreau. Eric lived his life as a loving, dedicated, compassionate and ever cheerful husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends alike. Eric was a member of St. Mark's Parish and was a Veteran of WWII, serving as a paratrooper. Besides his loving wife, Doreen (Mahar), Eric is also survived by three daughters, Geri Herrington (Jim) of Quispamsis, Joan Steele (Mike) of Nauwigewauk and Brenda Chisholm (Ronald) of Antigonish, NS; two sons, Eric T. Boudreau of Quispamsis and Brian Boudreau (Theresa) of Hampton; two sisters, Catherine MacKenzie of PEI and Patricia Cameron of Quispamsis; 13 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Marie (Brideau) Murdoch. Paul Gaudet 1948 - 2007 TORONTO, ON - Paul Gaudet, 59, of Toronto, ON and formerly of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Saturday, May 19th, 2007 in Toronto. Born in Dieppe, NB, he was the son of Nelsie (née: Blanchard) and the late William Gaudet. Besides his mother, Nelsie of Dieppe, he is survived by eight sisters, Geneva (Leonard) Benoit, Simonne (Peter) Elliott, both of Toronto, Diane Savoy of Calgary, Cecile (Albert) LeBlanc and Gloria (Louis) Gallant, both of Scoudouc, Marie Bourgeois, Jeanne (Pat) Balcom and Linda Gaudet, all three of Dieppe; two brothers, Alvin, of Zepherhill, FL and Robert (Wanda) of Dieppe; one sister-in-law, Eileen Gaudet of Clermont, FL; as well as by several nieces and nephews. BARTLETT, L. ELAINE - The death of Elaine Bartlett of Grand Manan Island, NB occurred on May 20th, 2007 at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB. She was the wife of the late John W. Locke, Herbert E. Jenner, and Robert W. Bartlett. Born on Grand Manan, Elaine was the daughter of the late Vinton and Mary (Shepherd) Clift. She is survived by one son, Michael (Arlene) Locke of Sussex; two daughters, Dianne (Earl) Barker of St. Stephen and Lora Stevens (Trent) of Chester, NS; one brother, Harry (Mary Janet) Clift of St. Andrews; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husbands, Elaine was predeceased by one sister, Patricia (Keith) Gates; one brother, Murray; and one beloved sister-in-law, Katrina Locke. Stewart Eagles 1922-2007 Stewart Eagles, husband of Dorothy (McCully) Eagles, passed away at the University Hospital Edmonton, Alberta, on Thursday May 10th, 2007. Born in Mount Eagle, NB on June 5, 1922. He was the son of the late Percy and Annie (Cochrane) Eagles. He was retired from the Federal Department of Agriculture. He volunteered for the Northland Center, enjoyed curling and Ballroom dancing. He is survived by sister Flora (Clinton) Thorne, Havelock NB as well as many nieces and nephews. Camilo P. Mogatas June 11, 1938 - May 15, 2007 Peacefully, on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, with the presence of his loving family surrounding him, Camilo P. Mogatas, at the age of 68, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Camilo Jr, (Aurora), Audie, Henry, (Lourdes), Rey, Jorge, (Gigi), Freddie, (Merlyn), Harry, (Jenny), Gary, (Summer), 28 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren as well as brothers and sisters in the Philippines, Canada, and the US. Camilo was born on June 11, 1938 in San Manuel, Pangasinan. He married his true love, Cristina, and together spent 52 years before her passing in October 2006. Camilo will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his loyalty to his friends and his sense of humor to everyone he encountered. Camilo worked at Winnipeg Transit for 27 years and retired in 2003. During his retirement he enjoyed spending his days with his family, fishing and gardening. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the staff and doctors of the A4 Ward and the dialysis unit at the Health Sciences Centre. Lamay will be held on Sat. May 26th and Sun.
