Il laisse dans le deuil deux filles: Nancy et Chantal; deux petits-enfants: Emilie et Yanick; trois soeurs: Mélinda Dionne de Petit-Rocher, Guyanne (Jean-Marie Thériault) de Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël et Doreen (Martin Duguay) de Chiasson-Office; quatre frères: Albert (Sylvia) de Savoie Landing, Alphée (Jeanne-d’Arc) de Chiasson-Office, Guy (Marie-Jeanne) de Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël et Gaëtan (Pierrette Chiasson) de Chiasson-Office, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Deux frères: Donald et Turmel, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. La famille recevra parents et amis à compter de 14h, le mercredi 23 mai, à la Maison funéraire Bulger de Shippagan. OBITUARY VIRGINIA A. WEADOCK Virginia Ann Weadock died in Montreal on May 20, 2007. Funeral service will be held at the Armstrong Rideau Funeral Home, 1640 Cote-Vertu, St-Laurent, (514) 331-1104 on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 2 p.m. preceeded by visitation at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Champion Hill Cemetery, Honor, Michigan. Miss Weadock was born on February 16, 1924 in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Edward George Weadock, M.D., and Ethel Alloway Burtnette. She attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, graduating in 1945 with a B.S. in Botany. In 1948 she returned to the University of Michigan to obtain a M.S. degree (also in Botany), granted in 1949. For several years, she worked as assistant in the Laboratory of Pathology in Forest Practice at the University of Michigan during the academic year and spent the summers at home on Platte Lake, Beulah, Michigan. In 1955 she moved to Montreal, Canada, to become research assistant to Professor Pierre Dansereau, ecologist at the University of Montreal. In 1961, the office moved to the New York Botanical Garden. In 1968, they returned to the University of Montreal and in 1972 transferred to the University of Quebec in Montreal. She was predeceased by her father in 1942 and by her mother in 1982 (at age 96). She is survived by cousins on both sides of her family, in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Stewart Eagles 1922-2007 Stewart Eagles, husband of Dorothy (McCully) Eagles, passed away at the University Hospital Edmonton, Alberta, on Thursday May 10th, 2007. Born in Mount Eagle, NB on June 5, 1922. He was the son of the late Percy and Annie (Cochrane) Eagles. He was retired from the Federal Department of Agriculture. He volunteered for the Northland Center, enjoyed curling and Ballroom dancing. He is survived by sister Flora (Clinton) Thorne, Havelock NB as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Malcolm Lewis and sister Annabel. Memorial service to be announced later. Tuesday, May 22, 2007

Russell Wilfred Deaffie September 24, 1929 - May 21, 2007 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear brother, Russell. Russell leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Evelyn McLaren, Mary Stagg Jr. and Isabel (Mike) Crate; brother, Clarence Deaffie; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Russell was predeceased by his mother and father, Amelia and Solomon Deaffie; his step-mother, Carrie Deaffie; sisters, Sarah Jane (John) Marsden and Sarah Harriet (Joe) Sinclair; brothers, Hector, Benjamin and Joseph Lawrence; sister in-law, Sarah Deaffie; brother in-law, Daniel Stagg; nephews, Jamie Crate and Russell Marsden; niece, Corrine Sinclair; great niece, Emily Letander and his great great niece, Samantha Letander. Sadly, Russell was a victim of the residential school era. He did his best to live a life he felt comfortable with. He was often a loner, but enjoyed visiting and having lunch at Mary’s. Russell enjoyed the outdoors and maintaining his surroundings. His employment during his life included trapping and all areas of commercial fishing. Russell enjoyed singing and could be heard singing as he strolled down to the river, as he did numerous times during the day between fishing seasons and retirement. He would often walk into Mary’s house singing. The last song the family remembers him singing is ‘It was Jesus who made me this way.’ Russell enjoyed watching and refereeing scrabble games played by his nieces and nephews. He encouraged them to play by the rules, as he also believed should apply in all areas of life. Russell has three very special nieces. The family would like to thank all those who supported the family. Wake services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 and Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Services will take place at the Dauphin River Pentecostal Church with Pastor Derek Letander officiating. Interment will follow at the Dauphin River Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be: Leonard Stagg, Terry Stagg, Corwin Sinclair, Morton Sinclair, Willard Deaffie and Donald Marsden. McMULLEN, James Douglas (Doug) (A member of the Smiths Falls Mic Mac's Hockey Club, a WWII Veteran, a regular member of the R.C.A.F.A. and a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95) Born November 10, 1920, in Alliston, On. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Doug on Monday May 21, 2007, after a hell of a fight. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty (nee Manion), his children Rick (Judy Gayda), Stephen (Sue Lacroix), Janet (Ron Coutanche) and JoAnne (Rod Keays). Dear brother of Doris McKay and Betty (Ed Tyitan). He will certainly be missed by his grandchildren Shannon, Lori, Debbie, Deryk, and Christina, Kim, Kathleen and Kris and predeceased by his grandsons, Ronnie and Stevie who will be waiting in heaven for him with a hockey stick. KEITHLIN, Ronald Sinclair. 1919 - 2007. Passed away peacefully with family present on May 16, 2007. Dearly loved husband of Con, and a proud and loving father to his three sons, David (Diane, Gatineau), Bill (Lynn, California) and Russ (Rosemary, Dorval) and his grandchildren, Ken, April, Matt, Philipe, Hilary, Dylan, and Devynn. Ron served on the HMCS Huron during WWII, and following the war he was employed by the Ford Motor Company for 35 years. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of the staff of the Ste. MYERS, MRS. JOAN MARIE (1932 - 2007) - Passed away on Sunday, May 20th, 2007 at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 74. Loving wife of fifty years to Douglas Myers of Pointe-du-Chêne (Parlee Beach Area) for the past 29 years. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ina (Mason) Gaudet. She worked for NB Tel in Saint John and in Moncton for a few years and then went on to work for Eaton's for many years as a phone operator at the main switchboard. Joan attended Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Pointe-du-Chene for many years. Besides her husband, Joan is survived by her children, Glenn (Coleen) of Coquitlam, BC, Troy (Nicole) of Riverview, NB and Gail (Steve Parrott) of Burlington, Ont.; brothers, Melvin Gaudet (Connie), Ronald Gaudet (Margie) all of Saint John; granddaughters, Krista & Melissa; and step grandchildren, Ashley, Emily and Wesley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. For much of her life Joan fought many illnesses. Her strong faith, joyful outlook and love of life will remain an inspiration to all who knew her.
