DAVID ALLAN WALSH May 4, 1962-May 8 th, 2007 The family announces with great sorrow his passing on Tuesday, May 8 th, 2007 in North Bay, Ontario at the age of 45 years. David was born and raised in Timmins where he played hockey and baseball for many years. He was a very dedicated sports minded man. In latter years he played on an outstanding old timers ball team with friends. He is survived by his wife Trina (Nee Foley) and his four children Brandon, Michael, Tiana and Karly Walsh. Survived by his parents Albert and Donna Walsh. Also survived by his siblings Ken Walsh (Cathy), Linda Fortier (Marc) and Donald Walsh (Angela). He will be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He is the grandson of Victoria Walsh. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11 th, 2007 in the CHAPEL of the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Minister Darlene Hardy will be officiating. Leslie (Les) James Drake of Englehart died May 8, 2007, at Englehart and District Hospital after suffering from cancer for four years. He was 87. Son of Harry and Mabel Drake, he was born in Guelph March 23, 1920. He attended school in Tomstown, and worked for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation for 30 years before retiring. On August 27, 1943, he married his wife Bertha in Englehart. Mr. Drake was a retired elder of Crossroads Church and and honourary elder of the Living Way Church in Englehart. He loved his family and enjoyed camping, farming and visiting with friends. He is survived by sons Rick of Powassan, Steven of Stoney Creek and Tim (Suzanne) of King City; daughters Starlene (Philip) Harman of Kenya, Bonnie (Dwain) Claydon of Englehart and Sylvia (Jason) Muir of Toronto, and sisters Mary Runham and Gladys Pillsworth. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife. Funeral arrangements were by McDonald Funeral Home of Englehart. A funeral service was conducted by Rev. Peter Ruel May 11 at the Living Way Church. Interment was at the Englehart cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Gideons.

FIDDES, William Leonard - “Bill”, 66, of Lower Onslow, passed away May 4, 2007 at the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, after a brief illness. Bill was the son of the late Herbert and Ruby (Milligan) Fiddes. Bill was in the trucking business for 50 years, being an owner operator since 1968, working for various trucking companies. In 1984 he established William Fiddes Trucking, retiring in 2005. Bill was an adherent of the Lower Onslow United Church serving as a choir member and trustee. Bill was an honorary member of the Onslow Belmont Fire Department and volunteered within the community. He loved spending time at his blueberry fields on Folly Mountain. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandpa. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Grace (Sprague); daughters, Wendy Waddell, Sarnia, ON, Sheri (Burris) Fiddes, Masstown, Nancy (Bruce) Adams, Masstown; grandchildren Brett Fiddes, Brianna and Kennedy Burris, Adam and Shawn Waddell, Abigale Adams, and his faithful dog Max. Bill is also survived by brothers Jack (Fran), Robert (Phyllis); sister Judy (Charles) Parlee all of Lower Onslow; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in- law Myrtle Sprague, Wentworth. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007 from 6-9 pm and funeral service Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 2 pm all in the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. HEWITSON, WILLIAM ERRINGTON On May 6, 2007 in the comfort of his faith and surrounded by his children, William (Bill) Hewitson of Fredericton passed away following a courageous battle with cancer. Born at Doak Settlement on March 23, 1919, he was the only son of the late William E. Hewitson, Sr. and Wilhelmina (Thwaites) Hewitson. He was a veteran of WWII having served overseas 1939-1945 with the Canadian Forestry Corps. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Nasonworth, where he served on the building committee. Bill was a life member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Gladstone Branch 55, a member of the Independent Order Of Foresters, a member of Gladstone Blissville Seniors Club and a member of the Kingswood Seniors Bowling League. Bill retired from the University of New Brunswick at the Maritime Forest Ranger School in 1979 following 34 years of service. He is survived by his children Carol (Arthur) Wilson of North Tay, Bob (Peg) Hewitson of Moncton and Joan (Dennis) Murray of Charter's Settlement and his grandchildren David (Michele) Hewitson of Moncton, Beth (Norm) Kervin of Embrun, Ontario, Nicholas (Amy) Wilson of Windsor, Ontario, Anthony Wilson of North Tay and Jenna Murray of Charter's Settlement as well as a great grandchild, Liam Kervin and two step-grandchildren Ashley and Brandon Carter, his sister-in-law Dorothy Galley of England, four nieces and their families. Bill was predeceased by his wife Jennie (Galley) Hewitson in 1985 and his sister Elsa Hodgson in 1990. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 9 at Holy Trinity Church, 1224 Route 101, Nasonworth from 2-4 and 7-9. A Royal Canadian Legion Service is to be held at 7 PM on Wednesday, May 9th at Holy Trinity Church with Padre Alfred Blizzard officiating. The funeral will take place on Thursday, May 10 at Holy Trinity Church at 11 AM with the Rev. Bruce McKenna officiating. Interment at a late date in Forest Hill Cemetery. QUAIT, John Samuel - Passed away peacefully, John Samuel Quait, in his 84th year of Sarnia., at Bluewater Health- Mitton St. Site on Saturday, May 5, 2007. John is survived by his loving wife of over 63 years, Marjorie “Jean” (Warner) Quait. Loved father of Joan (Robert) Milligan of Port Coquitlam, B.C., Gail (Brian) Millward of Victoria, B. C., and Janice Quait of London, ON. Dear brother of Georgina Melvin of St. Mary's, Donna Irwin, Bernice (George) Smith and Rose Piper all of London. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Samuel and Elsie (Butters) Quait, brothers George and Kenneth Quait and sisters Jean, Elsie and Myrtle. John is a WWII veteran, having served in the Royal Canadian Navy from June 1940 to Sept. 1945. After the war he worked as a self- employed home builder in the London area for many years. STODDARD, HAROLD EUGENE "GENE" - It is with great sadness that the Stoddard family announce the passing of Harold Eugene "Gene" Stoddard, 84, of Grand Bay - Westfield, NB, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 7, 2007. Born in Beaufort, NB, he was the son of the late Paul and Jennie (Scovil) Stoddard. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 36 years, Winona Louise (Cole); his sister, Claire Olsen; his children; step-children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews. Gene was employed by Irving Pulp and Paper in 1954 and later joined Rothesay Paper, where he was Supervisor, until his retirement in 1987. Gene and his wife enjoyed camping, fishing, cross country skiing and communing with nature. Gene is predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Paul and Gilbert; sister, Wanda Breneol; three children, Gary, Michael and Sheila; two grandchildren, Timothy Likely and Matthew Anderson. Gene's energy, love for family and friends and most of all his love for God will be remembered by all who knew him. REID, RUTH MARY (KIRKPATRICK) Ruth Mary Reid - 70, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Friday, May 4, 2007 in Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by her loving husband, Lloyd, friends and pastors. Born October 28, 1936 in Hoyt, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Estey and Elizabeth (Whittaker) Kirkpatrick. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Lloyd; sons, Kevin (Juanita), Welland, Ontario; Russell (Christina), Hawaii; grandchildren, Nicole, Micheal, Chelsea; sisters, Viola Darrah, Ella Kirkpatick, Lilly Perkins, Opal (Glen) Edgar; brother, Ross (Lois) Kirkpatrick, all of New Brunswick; many niece and nephews. Ruth enjoyed life and took great pleasure in her grandchildren. She loved to travel and enjoyed many bus trip, trips to Europe and Hawaii and most recently, a Caribbean Cruise. She worked at the Bank of Montreal, Woodlawn, was a member of Dartmouth General Hospital Auxiliary, Dartmouth Christian Womens Club and Evangel Pentecostal Church. Munn, husband of the late Doris Louise (Price) Munn of Blacks Harbour NB. Born in Doaktown NB on November 30, 1926, he was a son of the late William and Barbara (Price) Munn. A loving father, grandfather and brother he is survived by two sons; Irvine Munn (Joanne) of St. Stephen NB and Wayne Munn of Blacks Harbour, six daughters; Diane Munn (Dow Thomas) of Tay Creek NB, Doris (Willy) Robichaud of Doaktown, Marena (Stephen) Desrosier of Hamtown Corner NB, Kathy Underwood of Richabucto Road NB, Susan (Charlie) Mullins of Red Deer AB and Michelle Gillmor of St. George, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two brothers; William (Gladys) Munn of Ludlow NB and Raymond (Patty) Munn of St. George, two sisters; June (Irvine) Connors and Mary (Wes) Munn both of Doaktown, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased besides his wife by two brothers; Sherman and Wesley. Prior to his retirement, Tommy worked for Connors Bros. on the clean up crew for 15 years. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. His passion was reading the bible and praying. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Blacks Harbour. Resting at the United Pentecostal Church in Blacks Harbour from where the service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm followed by interment in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. SMALL, RICHARD THETUS - Peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on May 7th, 2007, Mr. Richard Thetus Small, husband of the late Thelma May (Moses) Small, of Blacks Harbour NB. Born in Grand Manan NB on April 3, 1913, he was a son of the late Frank and Lola (Urquhart) Small. A loving father and grandfather he is survived by one son, Roger (Joan) Small of Quispamsis NB; one daughter, Morna (Wayne) Linton of Winnipeg MB; four grandchildren, Kevin Small of Blacks Harbour, Kelly (Bill) Conley of St. Stephen NB, Paul (Michelle) Linton and Michael (Heather) Linton all of Winnipeg, MB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Herbert; and two sisters, Francis Mason and Lona Anderson. Prior to his retirement Richard had been employed by Connor's Bros. for all of his working career as a Stock Room Manager and Purchasing Agent. Richard was Baptist by faith having attended the Second Falls, St. George and the Calvary Baptist Church in Blacks Harbour. He enjoyed singing and he was a member of the various church choirs of the churches he attended. He was an avid reader and poet and was proud of the book of poetry which he published. By Richard's request there will be no visiting. There will be a graveside service at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery on Wednesday, May 9th, 2007 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating. Betty Ruby (Murphy) Forrest 1938 - 2007 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mrs. Betty Forrest of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home passed away at the Miramichi Hospital on Monday, May 7, 2007 at the age of 68. Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruby (Trevors) Murphy. She was a retired school teacher and attended St. James & St. John United Church in Miramichi. She is survived by two sons, Kevin (Carol) of Miramichi and Gary (Leah Savage) of Miramichi; two sisters, Mona Matthews (Fred) of Chatham and Jessie Howard of Chatham; two brothers, Randall (Rita) of Lower Newcastle and Bobby (Margaret) of Chatham; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Gillian, Joey and Lynn; and several nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Everette and one sister, Alta Greenough. The family will receive relatives and friends at Northumberland Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 from 7 to 9pm and on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Mrs. Carolyn G. (Sears) Reilly QUINCY - Mrs. Carolyn G. (Sears) Reilly, of Quincy, formerly of Somerville, New Jersey and Waltham, died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at her home. She was 61. Born in Memramcook, New Brunswick, Carolyn was a daughter of Cecilia (LeBlanc) Sears of Dieppe, New Brunswick and the late Vernon Sears. She had worked for many years as a certified nurse's assistant at Raritan Heath and Extended Care in Somerset, New Jersey. She leaves her children, Charles LeBlanc, Daniel LeBlanc and his wife, Brenda, of Billerica and Kathrine LeBlanc of Quincy; eight brothers, Jack Sears of Waltham, James Sears and his wife, Bernice, of Saint John, New Brunswick, Wayne Sears of Dieppe, Michael Sears and his wife, Jeannette, of Memramcook, Danny Sears and his wife, Jeannette, of Miramichi, New Brunswick, David Sears and his wife, Yoland, Steven Sears and his wife, Josette, all of Memramcook, and Denis Sears and his wife, Tami of Riverview, New Brunswick; four sisters, Dianne Boudreau of Waltham, Donna Cormier and her husband, Alonzo, of Dieppe, Linda Bourque and her husband, Fred, of Memramcook and Nancy Blakely of Riverview; and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn was also the sister-in-law of the late Tom Boudreau. WALSWORTH, Lynn Marie The passing of Lynn Marie Walsworth, of Fredericton, NB, wife of Jack Walsworth, occurred on Sunday, May, 6, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on January 9, 1957 in Lachine, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Donald Murray and Maxine Olive (McAdam) Atkinson. Lynn was a member of the New Brunswick Bar Association and employed by NB Power Holding Corporation as the Associate General Council. She was affiliated with Christ Church Cathedral of Fredericton, and was a member of the Mother's Union and the Cathedral Choir. She was a member of the Cannon and Constitution Committee for the Anglican Diocese of Fredericton. She was also a member of the International Commission of Jurists. In addition to being an exemplary scholar at every level, Lynn was an accomplished pianist and student of music. By the age of 18 she had earned ARCT certificates in each of Piano Performance and Music Theory, and subsequently graduated with a degree in B. Mus (1979) from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, winning the Medal in Music that same year. She earned a Master's of Arts degree in Musicology (1980) from the University of Toronto, then a LLB degree (1993) from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton (while simultaneously raising three young children), and was awarded the Lieutenant-Governor's Medal for Distinction in Scholarship. In 1994 she clerked for the Hon. Gerard W. LaForest at the Supreme Court of Canada. Lynn is survived by her husband Jack, two sons, Phillip and Thomas, both of Fredericton, daughter Diana of Fredericton, one brother, Douglas Atkinson (Angela) of Toronto, step-mother Andree Atkinson of Kanata, Jack's six siblings - Barbara Shaw (Greg) of Kingston, Lynda Dunham (Jerry) of Hanover, Rick Walsworth (Lorraine) of Ottawa, Rob Walsworth (Carol) of Ottawa, Patti Milan (Mark) of Ottawa, and Peter Walsworth (Ann) of Ottawa - and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and again on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Christ Church Cathedral, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 2 pm with The Ven. Geoffrey Hall officiating, and both Canon Tom Smith and Dean Keith Joyce assisting. Il laisse dans le deuil ses frères: Guy (Jeannette Clarkson), Luc (Christiane Lapointe) et Jacques (Hélène Pedneaud); ses sœurs: Paulette (feu Elzéar Paquette) et Nicole (feu Jacques Lapointe); ses belles-sœurs: Adèle Villeneuve (feu Carol Jobin), Claire Renaud (feu Jean Jobin) et Claire Lacroix (feu Pierre Jobin) ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces, ami(e)s, confrères et ex-paroissiens. L'ont prédécédé ses sœurs: Marielle et Danièle. L'abbé Paul Jobin est né à Chandler, en Gaspésie, le 6 novembre 1926. Il était le fils de Bernadette La Terreur et Joseph-Charles Jobin, quatrième d'une famille qui compterait onze enfants. La famille est arrivée à Buckingham en 1936 et Paul a étudié à l'école St-Michel avant de poursuivre ses études au Juniorat du Sacré-Cœur et à l'Université d'Ottawa où il a obtenu un baccalauréat en sciences avant d'entrer au noviciat. Paul a été ordonné prêtre au sein de la Congrégation des Oblats de Marie Immaculée (OMI) à l'église Saint-Grégoire de Naziance de Buckingham le premier juillet 1953. Il a eu une carrière longue et féconde. À titre de Père Oblat, il a été professeur au collège classique de Rouyn; curé de la paroisse Notre-Dame de l'Assomption de Maniwaki ainsi que de la paroisse Sainte-Thérèse du diocèse de St-Jérôme; il a aussi été prédicateur et animateur de la Maison de retraite du Sacré-Cœur de Hull. À titre de prêtre diocésain, il a été curé des paroisses Saint-Agapit des Deux-Montagnes et Ste-Marcelle de Saint-Jérôme. Pendant quelques années, il a été aumônier au Manoir de la Pointe-Bleue à Ste-Marguerite-du-Lac Masson tout en desservant des communautés paroissiales voisines. En 1997, Paul est revenu en Outaouais pour cause de maladie, mais en 1998, il a quand même pris la charge de la paroisse de Cantley à Gatineau. En 1999, il est devenu aumônier auprès de la communauté des Filles de la Sagesse de Vanier jusqu'en décembre dernier. La fidélité de Paul à son idéal de jeunesse, sa compétence professionnelle et son respect de sa fonction ont été pour nous tous une inspiration et une source de courage. Il était un homme de foi, un travailleur acharné, un homme bon. Pour sa famille et pour ses amis, il demeurera un exemple de fidélité à ses responsabilités et à son idéal. Comme frère, comme oncle et comme ami, il a embelli notre vie. Nous le remercions. Il sera exposé à la Coopérative funéraire de l'Outaouais, au 95 boul. Cité des Jeunes, Gatineau (Hull), le jeudi 10 mai de 14h à 17h et de 19h à 22h. MANSFIELD, Frank Friend to many. Fishing, Hunting and Golfer extraordinaire, Frank's last trip began Sunday, May 6th, 2007 as he departed the Hospice at May Court to rendezvous with wife Ann Kelly Mansfield who left May Court on May 12th, 2004. The Hospice at May Court is the premiere departure gate for all first class heaven bound travelers. With only a smile, the May Court Hike for Hospice being launched on the lawn and with a Dixie Land Band playing "Has Anyone Seen My Gal," Frank set off in style with Michael, Karen and Kathleen blowing kisses. In the procession at May Court, they were joined by Michael's wife Jan, Karen's children Anna, Sarah and Hailey and husband Christopher singing "In the Highways and the Hedges," friends and the beautiful staff from the Hospice. Michael's children Alison, Chelsea and Patrick, from various parts of Canada, were there in spirit as well as Frank's siblings Leo, John, Jim, Rita, Mary and Gerry. Frank, known to so many was 83 years old. The planned ATV purchase will be cancelled; three fishing trips to Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta will also be cancelled. Fish everywhere will celebrate the passing of Frank as he sets off to meet Ann. WADE, Gregory James - Jim bids farewell to his bride Heather after 44 years, children Gillian (and Joe), Gavin (and Sheri), grandchildren Kaitlyn, Brandon and Kaleb, his special relatives Carol and Grant, Stuart and Sue and Aunt Elva, as well as his sister Chris and her family in South Africa. He is sorry to leave his many additional relatives and friends, but the Lord has called him home after enduring many earthly battles. Jim was very proud to be a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and, as such, felt deeply honoured to be installed as Noble Grand of Cobourg Lodge No. 136 in September of 2006. A public memorial service will be held at the Odd Fellows Hall, 412 Victoria St, and University Ave, on Friday May 11th at 7:30 p.m. with reception to follow. HUNTER, HAROLD BERTRAM The passing of Harold Hunter of Douglas Harbour occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on May 6, 2007 at the age of 85. Born July 15, 1921 he was the son of the late A. Ward and Bertie (Randall) Hunter. Harold had a vegetable and Dairy Farm at Douglas Harbour. In his early years he was a woodsman and teamster. He drove school bus with the Minto School district for 12 years. Harold is survived by his wife of 62 years Georgia (Reynolds), five sons and two daughters; Allan (Linda), Eldon (Laura), Kenneth (Maria), David (Claudette), Jo-Ann (Alan) Flower, Harry (Jean) and Helen (Dwane) Greer; 17 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Kaye Brown and Helen Tabor; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by a sister Gladys Crowe; a brother Russell and 2 infant brothers. Frank Burridge PORT ELGIN, NB - Frank Linton Burridge, of St. John's, Newfoundland and recently Port Elgin, New Brunswick passed away on Monday, May 7th at the age of 100. Leaving to mourn his daughter, Penelope Mark; his son-in-law, James Mark; two grandchildren, Amanda Mark and Jason Mark; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved first wife and childhood sweetheart, Anne (née Campbell) and his second wife, Anne's cousin, Florence (née Norberg); as well as his sisters, Muriel Harvey (Jesse), Blanche Rendell (Harold), Violet Vavasour (Hugh); and his brother, John Harold Burridge (Jack). An avid fly fisherman, boating enthusiast and traveller, he was also sustained throughout his long life by his love of music, especially opera, and reading books on history, philosophy and art. His large library of books and recordings provided him pleasure to the end of his life. He was an active member of the St. John's Lions Club and was a member of St. Andrew's Masonic Lodge. He began his working life at the old St. John's firm of T. & M. Winter and then worked for the Great Eastern Oil and Import Co. Where he rose to become Manager and also Head of Texaco Canada for the Province of Newfoundland. There are legions of grateful employees and customers all over Newfoundland who remember him with the greatest pleasure. The family thanks the loving and professional staff at the Westford Nursing Home and the caring staff at Sackville Memorial Hospital, Dr. Graeme Stewart, and Father Kevin Stockall of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Sackville. Visiting hours and a short memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 9th at 2:00 PM at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Sackville. Donald Burbeck Fay 1913 - 2007 HALIFAX, NS - The son of William B. and Selena (Pickering) Fay died May 6th, 2007 at Camp Hill Veteran's Memorial Building, Halifax. Born July 13th, 1913 and raised in Halifax, he survived the 1917 Explosion. He graduated from Halifax Academy and Dalhousie University, where he received his B.Sc in 1937. After graduation, he taught with Frontier College while working on the railroad. Upon the outbreak of war, he volunteered for active service. He served with the Royal Canadian Artillery in Newfoundland, and was commissioned a Lieutenant in 1942. At the end of the war, he returned to Dalhousie, where he graduated from the College of Pharmacy in 1951. He worked for Henderson's Drug Store in Port Elgin, NB, and later became a part-owner of the Corner Drug Store in Sackville, NB. Donald married Isabel Freestone in 1942. They were married close to 61 years and were rarely apart. When he retired in 1980, they returned to Halifax to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Summers were spent at their cottage in Upper Cape, NB, and at Big Island, NS. In the winters they travelled extensively, including many trips to visit family and friends in Bermuda. He was an avid gardener, a skilled tennis player, and a talented skater. He is predeceased by Isabel; three sisters and a brother. He is survived by son, Donald F. Fay (Margaret), Halifax; and daughter, Anne MacLean (Neil), Big Island. He was a beloved Grandad to eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather for a memorial service in Saint Matthew's United Church, Barrington St., Halifax, Thursday, May 10th, at 2:00 pm.
