GOSSELIN, Gus - Passed away at his residence in North Bay, Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the age of 84. Gus was the beloved husband of Joyce (née McMillan) married for 58 years. Loved father of Paul of New Liskeard. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Katherine Gosselin (John Harrington) of New Liskeard and Christopher Gosselin of Kelowna, B.C. Predeceased by his parents, Clementine and Ovila Gosselin, one brother, Philbert and a sister, Jean Caron. Gus was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1007 and longtime member of Pinewood Golf Club. He dedicated much of his time to volunteer and service clubs. An avid walker, Gus loved especially the Northgate Mall and the waterfront circuit. He also enjoyed playing sports, particularly baseball, hockey and bowling with family. His many friends will dearly miss him. Loving father of Peggy Gauvreau of Burlington and Danny (Dan) Gauvreau, wife Lorraine and grand-daughters Jordann and Brooke of North Bay. Predeceased by his parents Lorenzo Gauvreau and Argentine Landry of Bonfield, brothers Wilfrid and Oscar and a sister Dolores. Survived by his sisters Violette Mantha, Rita Boyer, Beth (AL) Mason, Gilberte Gagné, Reina Bourdeau and Annette Boudier. Brother of Bill, Ben (Lena), Al (Helen) Ray and Vic Gauvreau. Joe was a retired brakeman for the Canadian National Railway (CNR) for 35 years. He enjoyed music, playing cards and cooking for the love of his family. CHAYER: David Louis 1936 - 2007 The family of David Chayer is sad to announce his passing on Friday, April 20, 2007 at the age of 70. David was predeceased by his wife Norma in 1997. Left to mourn are his children Brian (Christine), Kathy (Murray), Dale (Selena) and Pat; grandchildren Michelle (Ben), Laura, Amanda (Kyle), Leah (Todd), Kayley, Nicholas, Jessi (Chase), Dusti, Rikki, Frank, Crystal and Amber; great-grandchildren Rayden, Reese, Chloe and Kevin. He also leaves his two brothers Cliff (Monique) and Wayne (Diane) while he joins his sister Darlene (Gary). He will also be missed by his dear friend, Martha. David was born September 29, 1936 in Hanna, Alberta. The railroad took him away from his hometown of Sunnynook to many surrounding communities until he settled with his wife Norma in Drumheller where they raised their family and eventually came to be known by most everyone in the valley who had a television as he owned and dedicatedly operated his business Drumheller TV Service. After the passing of his dear wife Norma, he chose to continue his journey with a move to Calgary, Alberta where he was able to touch the lives of many new friends he would meet there. David had a remarkable talent for needle work which he began with cross stitch and most recently took up knitting where up until his last days, with vision that was failing, he continued with his love for the one gift he was given. The family wishes to thank the staff at the ICU and Unit 41 in the Peter Lougheed Centre where he received compassionate care and support. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at St. Magloire’s Anglican Church in Drumheller, AB. BOBRA: In loving memory of Patricia Diane Bobra (nee Chambers) July 30, 1955 - April 8, 2007 It is with much sadness that we say goodbye to a “super” lady. Patricia passed way peacefully at the age of 51 years at the Drumheller Health Centre on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007. Pat was the beloved wife of Christopher and the loving mother of Andrew and Stephen. Patricia is survived by her mother, Dorothy Chambers of Lachine, Quebec; and her brother, Michael (Cindy) Chambers of Calgary. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Chambers in 1983. Pat is also survived by her mother-in-law, Mrs. Jadwiga Bobra of Orleans, ON; a sister-in-law Alice (Ernst) Jacobsen of Orleans; and a brother-in-law Mark (Mary) Bobra of Ottawa. Auntie Pat will be greatly missed by her nephews and nieces: Stephanie and Nicholas Chambers of Calgary; Michael and Christina Jacobsen of Orleans; as well as “the twins”, Larissa and Alana Bobra of Ottawa. A “Celebration of Life” was held at Knox United Church, Drumheller on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 with Jenny Dannhauer officiating. Earlier in the day, a private interment of her ashes took place at the Columbarium in the Drumheller Municipal Cemetery. Chris, Andrew and Stephen would like to say “A BIg Thanks” to family and friends for all of the cards, calls, visits, flowers and food, also to her friends for taking turns driving Pat to Calgary for treatments. Dr. Racz and Dr. Neffgen of the Drumheller Hospital also deserve special thanks, as do the caring nurses, and other staff, including the ambulance personnel. Thank you to Cathy, Shauna and Lorraine of the Drumheller Cancer Clinic for their care and support. Thanks to Dr. Patterson and the nurses of the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic of Calgary for their care. Thank you very much to Jenny Dannhauer for her service, support and friendship, also her husband Dan for helping out. Lola of St. Anthony’s Hall did a great job at the reception. To Doug Lovsin, of IGA, for catering the lunch and providing other meals, thank you for being there for us. We are grateful to Lisa Jacques, of Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Chapel for her thoughtful planning and organization. Special thanks to the “Group of 5” women for all that they did for Pat and her family. BOUCHER, Estelle - Est décédée paisiblement à Eastholme à Powassan, le mardi 24 avril, 2007 à l'âge de 87 ans. Estelle (née Massicotte) était l'épouse bien-aimée de feu Ovide Boucher et chère mère de Michelle Perron (Maurice) de Windsor et Suzanne Omiccioli (Joey) de North Bay. Elle sera tendrement gravée dans la mémoire de ses petit-enfants, Marc, Danielle et Pierre Perron, Alexandre et Josée Omiccioli ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux. Donna Russett aka Silver Fox and Gran D (grandee) November 8, 1950 - April 23, 2007. Sacred Circle dancer, Raging Granny, Red Hat Queen, drummer, Coventry Singer, trombone in Peterborough Concert Band. Donna reluctantly left us two days after her long-considered wedding to Darrell Nunn, her partner in life, love and travels for 25 years, held on April 21 in the overwhelming presence of her two families. She never did anything by half measures: in three brief years in Peterborough she threw herself into community activity, building a diverse group of friends who would later become her circle of care in her final difficult months. She embraced every opportunity for dress up - as a Granny, a Red Hat, a dancer. On Hallowe'en, just before major surgery, she sat as a witch in the window by the door, scaring unwary trick-or-treaters. She embraced life intensely. She was an active and loving Gran D. She loved exploring the world, took opportunities to teach in Jamaica and China and had visited over 40 different countries. She will be sorely missed by many. CRAWFORD, Bruce James - Of Cargill, passed away at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in his 68th year. Bruce worked in the telephone industry his whole career and was the proprietor of Cargill Telephone for the past 20 years. He was very actively involved in Telephone Collectors International and Antique Telephone Collectors and was the Editor Emeritus of Switchers Quarterly, a newsletter that covered telephone collectors worldwide. He also had a great interest in street cars and the Toronto Transit Commission. Bruce had no family, yet had a large family of friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at CAMERON FUNERAL HOME, Walkerton from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment Parklawn Cemetery, Toronto. Anna was born on January 8, 1918 in Scotland. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and best friend you could ever hope for. She was always interested in everyone and never complained. There is nothing Anna loved more than being surrounded by her family, sharing laughter with everyone. Despite facing significant medical challenges later in life, Anna's fun loving spirit, sense of humour, compassion and generosity never wavered. Words cannot aptly describe how much she will be missed by her family, friends and relatives. She had a heart of gold and she was the light of Jim's life. James Hartley McClure September 16, 1972 - April 20, 2007 Suddenly and unexpectedly, at Mount Sinai Hospital, after complications from surgery and chemotherapy. James was much loved, and will be greatly missed, by grandmothers Dorothy Hartley, Kincardine Ont., Beatrice McClure, Sault Ste Marie, Ont., parents Jim and D. Ann McClure, Sault Ste Marie, Ont., uncle and aunt Jim and Deb Hartley, cousins John and Peter Hartley, London Ont., and by his many, many, friends. James was a people person who valued greatly his many friendships developed over the years from Ecole St. Ignace and Notre Dame des Ecoles, Sault Ste Marie (1977- 86), Upper Canada College, Toronto (1986- 91), The University of Western Ontario, London (Honours BA - 1995), The University of Toronto (MBA-1997), and from his working life. James worked in Toronto's financial services industry for the past ten years, in different capacities. He was particularly proud to be associated with Walton International Group Inc., a company that he considered to be his extended family. His most recent position was President, Walton Capital Management Inc. Cremation has already taken place. A gathering will take place in Toronto in the near future, where many of James' friends and family will reminisce, laugh, cry, raise a glass and celebrate their good fortune in having known him. BORLAND, James (Jimmy) McBride - Sept. 28, 1936 - April 19, 2007 Jimmy Borland of Niagara Falls Canada & formerly of Govanhill Glasgow, Scotland passed away peacefully at 9 a.m. on April 19th at the Waterford Regional Hospital, Ardkeen, Co. Waterford Ireland. He leaves behind, his loving wife and friend Margaret, son James (Elizabeth) Borland, daughter Marcelline (late Gerald) O'Neill, and grandsons Michael (Julia) O'Neill, Kevin (Tania) O'Neill, Patrick and Luke O'Neill. He is also survived by nieces and nephews in Shawlands Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to immigrating to Canada from Scotland in 1972 Jimmy attended Adelphi High School, and then worked as a welder in Fairfields and John Brown shipyards. In Glasgow he was a season ticket holder of his beloved Glasgow Rangers and a brother of Pollokshaws Royal Arch Lodge No. 153. He spent many years volunteering with the Niagara Falls Soccer Club. In Canada he worked as a welder with Port Wellar Dry Docks, Norton Company and the Carborundum. He was immensely involved in soccer. In 1981 he won an Ontario Cup Champions Medal with the Boone's Dionnes of the Niagara Falls Soccer Club. He is a member of the Niagara Falls Wall of Fame, for his achievement as a coach. James McBride Borland was cremated on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Island Crematorium on Rocky Island, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork, Ireland in a private service. Matthew went to be with his Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ after heroic efforts by his dear friends Trent Galbraith and Mike Moes at the scene of the accident. A grade 11 student who lived life to the fullest without regret; sports of every type were his passion, particularly basketball and baseball but especially mountain biking and dirt biking.
