ORAM, DORA WINNIFRED - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dora Winnifred Oram on April 21, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1924 in Winnipeg, MB she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hilda Doley. Dora is survived by her husband, Bill; three sons, Tom (Carole), Rick (Liz) and Bill (Gail); one daughter, Cheryl Belliveau (Dennis); one brother, Bud Doley (Elsie); and one sister, Joan Buhr. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Jessica, Geoffrey, Alexandra, Justin, Alyssa, Angela and Allan; great grandson, Lucas; as well as several nephews and nieces. By request there will be no visitations. A private family service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home. Lois E. MacManus Lois E. MacManus 80, of ProTem Health Services, Moncton passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday April 20, 2007. Born in Shediac, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Daisy (Bateman) Price. Lois attended Holy Family Roman Catholic Church and was a former employee of Alfred J. Bell & Grant Ltd., Halifax. Lois will be sadly missed by her niece, Carol Brun (Gerry Caissie), Scoudouc; nephew, David Price (Jacqueline), Tottenham, ON; step-daughters, Janet Ashe (Alfred Graham), Great Village, NS; Juanita Corbett (Stan), Bass River, NS. Lois was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Predeceased by her husbands, Daniel J. Ashe (1980), David B. MacManus (2000); brother, Everett Price (2002). No visitation by request. GREEN, Raymond F.S. - In loving memory of Raymond F.S. Green, 64 years of Whitefish, who passed away Sunday, April 22nd, 2007 at the SRH-Memorial Site. Born in Toronto he married Patricia (Gauthier) in 1963 in Whitefish. Ray came to the Sudbury area as a boy. He was a longtime and well respected Whitefish resident. He was a miner at INCO retiring from the Crean Hill Mine in 1997 with 33 yrs service. He had a passion for genealogy which he pursued with his grandson Robbie. A proud Canadian, he served in the Canadian Army. Always quick to help others, he was an active member of the Mended Hearts Association. He was an avid gardener. A devout Roman Catholic, he belonged to St. Christopher's Church where he assisted in the liturgy. Ray will be remembered as a determined and thoughtfull person whose opinions and ideas inspired, encouraged and challenged others. His letters to the editor were well read and appreciated for their clarity and advocacy. He was devoted to his loving family. Beloved husband of Patricia (Gauthier) Green of Whitefish. Loving father of Michael Green (Heidi) and Veronica McCauley (Don) both of Whitefish. Cherished grandfather of Robbie, Stephanie and Miranda. Dear son of Fred and Lorraine Green predeceased. Dear brother of Vern (Anna) of Sudbury, Phil (Marlene) of Lively and Robbie predeceased (Susan of Sudbury). SIMPSON, ROBERT GEORGE - Robert George Simpson of Saint John, NB passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 86. Born in Vancouver, BC, a son of the late Francis and Agnes Simpson. He was predeceased by his wife, Vera Cecilia (Lundrigan). Survived by his son, Lee (Stefanie Pagliaro); grandsons, Robert and Dylan, all of Toronto, ON; his daughter, Roberta McLaughlin (Nelson Thorne) of Quispamsis, NB; sister, Agnes Last of Coquitlam, BC; brothers, Dave (Edith) and Jim (Margaret), both of Burnaby, BC, and Frank (Lorraine) of Maplecrest, BC. Bob was employed with Maple Leaf Foods for over 30 years. He was a devoted family man, who cared for everyone and was well loved by his friends for his dry sense of humour. Bob was a veteran of WWII. Aurea Stewart 1943-2007 ST. LOUIS de KENT, NB - Aurea Stewart, wife of the late Ross Stewart, of St. Louis de Kent, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, on Friday, April 20, 2007, age 63. Born in Guimond Village, NB, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Richard and the late Adeline (Cormier) Richard. Aurea was a member of the St. Louis des Francais Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by five daughters, Sharon Daigle (André), Sheila Martin (Kenneth), Stacey Morin (Jean-Luc), Sonia Normand (Sylvain), and Shannon Stewart (Denis Boucher); three sons, Dwayne (Bernadette), David (Crystel), and Darren; two sisters, Linda Robichaud (Jean), Carmella Babineau (Leon); four brothers, Arthur Richard (Aline), Everard Richard (Jeannine), Claude Richard (Jeannine), and Darrie Richard (Flora); as well as several nieces and nephews; and 14 grandchildren. DeWITT, GEORGE ALBERT The death of George Albert DeWitt, age 89 of Tracy, New Brunswick occurred on April 21, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was born in Tracy, New Brunswick and was the only son of the late Otis DeWitt and Florence (Carr) DeWitt. George was employed as a stationary engineer at Base Gagetown until his retirement. He was a former Mayor and councilor of the Village of Tracy, N.B. He also served on the Fredericton Junction Hospital Board for some years. George was most proud of being a longtime member of the Tracy Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years. George was an avid bowler and loved to hunt and fish where he spent many falls guiding at Little Lake. He also enjoyed working at Bingo and playing cards at the Tracy Rec. Centre. George DeWitt is survived by his wife of 67 years, Violet (Turnbull) DeWitt. One sister, Blanche Bennett, of Mill Cove Nursing Home. Four grandchildren, Timothy (Leona) DeWitt, Wendy (Ken) Giberson, Debbie (Bruce) Smith and David (Sandra) DeWitt. Eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two children, Glendon George DeWitt (Joyce), Joanne Marie Webb (Richard). Four sisters, Barbara Phillips, Mildred Golden, Marjorie Phillips and Dorothy Lyons. His remains are resting in the Family Center of the Tracy Baptist Church, Tracy, N.B. Visitation will take place on Monday, April 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 24, at Tracy Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. James Harrison officiating with interment to follow at the Tracy Baptist Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Baptist Church Family Centre. He was born in Dalhousie, son of the late Arthur and Marcella (Lavigne) Poirier. Charles was a supervisor at Irving Pulp and Paper, retiring in 2005. He loved music and playing the guitar. BEAUDRY, Edith Laura (nee Ouellette) - In loving memory of Edith Beaudry, 79 years of Sudbury, who passed away Sunday, April 22nd, 2007 at the SRH - St. Joseph's Health Center, she was born in Creighton and married Larry Beaudry in 1946 in Sudbury. Edith was a well loved & respected life resident of Sudbury. She had been a secretary at Silverwood Dairies and Beaudry Appliances for 20 years. A proud Canadian she had been an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion whose leadership & friendship was appreciated by all who knew her. She was a past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Br # 76 Sudbury and she served on various committees and executive offices at the zone and command levels. She had received a Meritorious Service Medal for her outstanding efforts. The focus of her life was her faith & family. She was a devout Roman Catholic who attended Holy Redeemer Parish. She was a loving & devoted mother and grandmother. Aunt Edith is a dedicated Legionnaire who believes in the phrase “Service not for self“. She is well known for her yard sales, hamburgers in gravy, joke telling, singing and chicken and spaghetti. At Christmas she is even known as the Turkey Lady. She was even instrumental in forming the play “until we meet again“ which ran for a few years. During Poppy Campaign she spends the entire weekend at the Shopping Centre manning headquarters and telling people where to go, (something she loves to do). She also forms her committee and does Remembrance Services at various Nursing Homes. Aunt Edith joined the Ladies Auxiliary in 1984 and every year she would run our elections. She was our liaison from 1988 to 1990 and then again in 1992 to 1994. She caters to our Christmas supper, our Anniversary suppers and Friday night suppers. The word “no“ does not appear in Aunt Edith's vocabulary. In the community she was a Girl Guide Leader and spent many summers at their camp cooking and working with the girls. She volunteered many hours to the Holy Redeemer C.W.L. and she spent many years on the Bowling Association. Beloved wife of Laureat A. “Larry“ Beaudry predeceased 1995. Loving mother of Raymond and Michelle (fiancé Gilles Dalcourt) both of Sudbury and Catherine (husband Ron Logie) of Stratford. Cherished grandmother of Melanie, Patrick, Jack, Tanya, Justin, Dana and great grandchildren Miranda, Isabelle, Victoria and Tyler. Dear daughter of Eugene and Pearl (Tincombe) Ouellette predeceased. Pendant plus de 40 ans, elle a chanté cette dévotion dans les différentes églises de la région, favorisant les chants dédiés à la Vierge Marie, plus particulièrement l’Ave Maria de Gounod ou celui de Schubert, tant aux enterrements qu’aux mariages. Elle a également fait partie de différentes chorales paroissiales à Shippagan et a aussi dirigé une chorale du 3e âge. Elle a fait partie de différentes organisations bénévoles et a été, entre autres, la première présidente des Dames Auxiliaires de Shippagan (organisation formée d’épouses d’anciens combattants). Elle manquera beaucoup à sa très grande famille qu’elle chérissait avec amour. La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée à la Maison funéraire Bulger de Shippagan. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Jérôme de Shippagan, le mardi 24 avril, à 16h. Heures de visites: le lundi 23 avril, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le mardi 24 avril, de 14h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. SELLARS, JOAN TALINTYRE - Joan T. Sellars, wife of the late Dr. Allen Sellars, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John, NB. Born on November 3, 1924 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Stewart) Cragg. Joan had been employed with the Scotia Bank in Millidgeville. She was a veteran of WW II, a member and served for 52 years with the Royal Canadian Legion - Carleton Branch # 2 and a life member of the Main Brace Naval Veterans Association. Survived by her son, Roy and his wife, Patricia and three granddaughters, Robyne (fiancée, Matthew Foster), Melissa and Morgan. Predeceased by her husband, Allen in 1991.
