WELCH, Mary Anne (nee Galway) - Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, Mary Anne passed away Thurs. Apr. 19th at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital in her 71st year. Beloved wife of the late Barney Welch (1996). Loving mother of Dale (predeceased in 1997), Lynda (Al) Sellen, Tim (Sherri) Welch, Susan Sawicki (Darryn) and Heidi Dickinson. Sister of Pat Galway (Marianne) and Kelly Galway (Linda). Loving Grandmother of 6 Grandchildren, Darcy, Aaron, Kathleen, Benjamin, Jordan and Rachel. Mary Anne had many great friends who will sadly miss her. A very special family who helped Mary Anne in her long journey with cancer, the Fortis Family - Denis, Georgia, Amy and Andy. EARLE, EILEEN LENORE - The death of "Weenie" Earle of Rothesay, wife of the late Arthur Earle, occurred Thursday, April 19th, 2007, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late James Albert and Mary Ellen (Booker) Kirkpatrick. Weenie was an avid bingo enthusiast, enjoyed a wonderful sense of humor and loved spending time in the midst of her family and friends. Weenie is survived by one brother David Kirkpatrick (Frances) of Riverview, NB; two other sisters-in-law, Beryl and Nancy Kirkpatrick, both of Rothesay; and good friend, Ron McKnight of Miramichi, NB. Weenie will always be fondly remembered as a very special aunt by her several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Arthur and both parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Ensley, Bob and Lloyd and sister-in-law Helen. OBITUARY LIEUTENANT COLONEL FRANK W. JOHNSON, DSO, ED, CD Peacefully at Sacre-Coeur Hospital on April 19, 2007, aged ninety-three years. Beloved husband of the late Velma Frost. Father of the late Lynne Johnson Hirsch, father-in-law of David Hirsch (Lynn Walker) and grandfather to Jessica and Christopher Hirsch (Meegan Guest). He also leaves his dear friends the Ryan family, and many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the caregivers Carolyn, Mortez, Barbara, Mike and Louise Bilodeau. Frank William Johnson was born in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec on November 27, 1913. He was a long-time employee of the Consolidated Bathurst Paper Company dating back to 1933. Upon retirement, he and his darling wife, Velma, enjoyed many happy years in Dorval, Quebec. His distinguished military career began, when he joined the Three-Rivers Regiment in 1930. Frank served with his regiment in Canada, the United Kingdom, Sicily, Italy and Northwestern Europe. He was later promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and Commanding Officer of the Trois-Rivieres Regiment. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (DSO); the Canadian Forces Decoration; and the Efficiency Medal (ED); amongst his many other military commendations and awards. GILMOUR, Phyllis Audrey - passed away at the LaPointe-Fisher Nursing Home, Guelph on Monday, April 16, 2007. Phyllis (Green) Gilmour at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of the late Ken Gilmour (1998). Loving mother of Martin (Therese) of Guelph and Barry (Irena) of Innisfil. Cherished grandma of Chantal and Marianna. OBITUARY ATTILA BENKO 1930 - 2007 It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who passed away at home on April 15, 2007 at the age of seventy-six. He is remembered with love by his devoted wife of forty-nine years, Annie Benko; his only son, Dr. Andrew Benko (Maya); and his two granddaughters, Lana and Lili. KEARNS, Lise Ruth Peacefully in Ottawa surrounded by family on February 10, 2007. Born Lise Ruth Andersen in Copenhagen, Denmark on April 6, 1918. Lise left Denmark for England in 1938. With the outbreak of World War II, she joined the British Army and served as a physical training instructor. She met and married Corporal Aaron Denis Kearns of Ottawa in 1942 while he was serving in the Canadian Army. Lise arrived in Canada at Pier 21 in Halifax on December 16, 1944 with her infant daughter Ruth and continued to Ottawa where she joined her husbands family. Three more children followed after the war, Caroll, Sandra and Paul. Following the early death of her husband in 1951, Lise embarked on a career in sales and management before retiring in 1982. Her work ethic, honesty and love of family were the legacy that she left for all. She cherished the contact with her grandchildren and more recently her great grandchildren. Her daughter Caroll Boucher and her sister Gurli Young predeceased her. She is very much missed by her daughters Ruth (Dr. Jean Baribeau) and Sandra (John Thomas) of Ottawa, her son Paul (Yvonne) of Port Rowan and son-in-law Dr. Claude Boucher of Kapuskasing. Lise was Nana to grandchildren Andre Baribeau of Canmore, Anne-Marie Baribeau of Vancouver, Dr. Paul Boucher (Marianne) of Calgary, Dr. Julie Boucher (Chris Meilleur) of Kapuskasing, Dan Boucher (Johannah) of Ottawa, Aaron and Dylan Kearns of Port Rowan and great grandchildren Alexandra and Timothy Boucher and Emilie and Nicholas Meilleur. MURRAY, Roland Winton Roland Winton Murray passed away peacefully on April 16, 2007. "Roly" was the loving and loved husband of Jacqueline (Levesque), father of Marianne (Dan McLean) and Isabel, and proud grandfather of Cassandra Marie and John Roland McLean. He will also be greatly missed by his sisters Margaret (Guthrie Middleton) and Barbara Ann (Chris Hinde) as well as many friends, nieces, nephews and countless cousins from the Gaspe to Victoria, the US and Europe. Born in Woodstock, Ontario in 1927, Roly grew up in Toronto, graduating from York Memorial Collegiate and the University of Toronto. He won a scholarship to the Sorbonne where he obtained his doctorate in international law. He joined the Foreign Service and was posted to Pnom Penh, the Hague, Belgrade and Moscow, followed by senior government positions in Winnipeg and Ottawa with Transport Canada. Always a gentleman, Roland never lost his innate sense of courtesy, diplomacy and humour. He sought the best in people and left the world a better place. The Murray Family thanks the staff of the Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre (PRVHC) for their outstanding care, comfort and support. ALLAIRE, Marquis 1919 - 2007 À St-Jérôme, à l'âge de 87 ans, est décédé Marquis Allaire, fils de feu Georges Allaire et de feu Rosa Gareau. Il laisse dans le deuil sa soeur Ghislaine (feu Harvey Sullivan), son frère Serge (Monique Dutil), son frère Carol-André (Yolande Noël) ainsi que ses neveux, nièces et autres parents et amis. KINOS, Rauha “Annie“ S. (nee Myllykangas) - In loving memory of Rauha “Annie“ Sofia Kinos (nee Myllykangas), 79 years, who passed away Thursday April 19th, 2007, at her residence. Annie was born in Kurikka, Finland and married Matti Kinos in 1958 in Copper Cliff. She originally came to the Sudbury area in 1954, returning to Finland and then permanently settling here in 1965. She loved music and she was a gifted singer. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. Upon reflection of her wonderful gift of memory, the family would encourage all who knew her to share a toast to her good life. Beloved wife of Matti Kinos of Whitefish. Loving mother Erkki (wife Marja-Liisa) of Sudbury, John (wife Andrea) of Ottawa, Kristiina of Cardinal and Marita (husband Victor De Los Santos) of Gananoque. Cherished grandmother of Lenita (husband Jeff), Mika, Matthew, Jonathan, Liam, Nolan, and great grandchild Tyson. Dear daughter of Yrjo and Martta (Koivumaki) Myllykangas predeceased. Dear sister of Helli Nevala predeceased. At Annie's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation. A celebration of her life will be held at the Perage Lake Rd. PARKER, Lillian Grace (nee Gordon). On Monday, April 16, 2007 in Lachute, Quebec in her ninetieth year. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Parker, formerly of Gordonville, Quebec and Hawkesbury, Ontario. She is survived by her sister Mae Desjardins. Dearest aunt, great-aunt and great-great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Reta and her brothers Leslie, Ernie and Ross. FRASER, Laurentia (nee Proulx) In the Shawville Hospital, on Friday, April 20, 2007 after a courageous battle, and with grace and dignity. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her beloved husband of 46 years, Tom, her daughters Shelley (Denny Wellburn), and Tara (Tim Craig), her sons, Trevor (Lise Norbert) and Todd.
