EGAN, Clifford Roy Peacefully on April 17, 2007 at Carlingview Manor in his 88th year. Clifford was the son of the late Captain Michael and Annie Egan. He is predeceased by his loving wife Georgina, his son Gary, his brothers Orville, Lawrence, Richard, Willis and sister Kay. He is survived by his sister Chloe Albert (Gordon) and sister-in-law Elsie Egan, his daughters Sharon Courchaine, Debbie Thurlow (James) and Linda Blue (Douglas). Survived by his grandchildren Chris and Karen Thurlow, Marc Courchaine (Holly), Nicole Croft (Peter) and Tyler, Jayce and Amanda Sheehan. He also leaves behind his beloved great-grandchildren Cody and Madison Thurlow, Austin, Cameron and McKenzie Forsythe and Grace Croft. Family are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Saturday, April 21st from 10 a.m. until service time in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery. LAWLESS, Denis Francis Retired - CN Rail Born in Grafton, Ontario on January 27, 1930 to Henry and Rose (Calnan). Denis passed on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at the age of 77. He will be greatly missed by his dearly beloved wife of 56 years, Joan (Kennedy), his loving children Judy Musil (Louie), Marie (Scott), Dan (Sandi) and Nancy (Dan). Very proud Grandfather of Jeffery, Christine, Shawn, Stephen, Kayla, Jake, and Kandra. He is survived by his sister Rose Taylor. Predeceased by his brothers Rev. Father John, Dan (Mary Ellen), and sisters Jane Koerner (George), and Gertrude (Bernard). From 1948 until his retirement in 1986, Denis worked for CN Rail and loved to regale family and friends about his travels throughout Canada in his test car. An avid genealogist, Denis published two books on Lawless Family ancestry, which dated back to the 12th century AD. He corresponded with people worldwide regarding the Lawlesses and assisted many to trace their ancestry. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Annunciation of The Lord Parish, 2414 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa. Interment will be held in Grafton at a later date. PURCHASE, Dorothy Gertrude (nee Chute) At the Queensway Carleton Hospital, on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of 61 years of Emerson. Loving mother of George (Peggie), Bill, Jim (Kate), Janet (Shelley John Bacon), Don (Georgina). Dear grandmother of Jennifer (Rudi Biemond), Kelly, Matt, Samantha and Adam, and great-grandmother of Emily Dorothy. Dorothy was born in Vancouver BC, March 18, 1921, but spent most of her childhood and adolescence in Toronto. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from the East General Hospital in Toronto, with the prize for highest standing in examination. She then worked in the Military Hospital in Toronto during the Second World War. Her greatest energies over the years were always focused on her family. She was also a volunteer in the Royal Ottawa Sanitarium Auxiliary (ROSA) and a very active member of the IODE in Ottawa; becoming Regent of the Lord Dundonald Chapter and subsequently Municipal Regent. ORR, N.E. (Red) - At Bluewater Health - Norman Site on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, N.E. (RED) ORR, age 84, of Sarnia, beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Emard) Orr (April 21, 2006). Dear father of David Orr and his wife Cathy, Marilyn Orr and Steven Orr and his wife Karen all of Sarnia, loving grandfather of Christina, Thomas, David Jr., Amanda, Lindsay and Brendan and great grandpa to Emily Lorraine. Brother of Charlotte Lightfoot and her husband Alan of St. Marys and Glen of B.C. Predeceased by parents Osborne and Ruperta Orr. Born in South Porcupine, Ontario on March 14, 1923, growing up in Northern Ontario, Red enlisted in the RCAF in 1941 and served in the European Theatre with the 408 (Goose) Squadron from 1942 - 1945. Returning from the war, he resumed his post secondary education at the University of Toronto. In 1949 he joined Chrysler Corporation and spent 16 years as a Chrysler Representative across Canada. After 16 years, Red accepted a position with Parkway Chrysler in Ottawa and in 1963 assumed the General Manager position with McManus Motors in London. With aspirations of becoming a Chrysler dealer, the opportunity presented itself in 1973 with the purchase of Bayview Chrysler Dodge in Sarnia. Although remaining active with the dealership until this day, Red enjoyed his leisure time and his winter home in Florida, playing golf there and back home in Sarnia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from SACRED HEART ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH (1465 Lecaron) on Saturday, April 21st at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the D.J. RENELLI, Vittorio - In loving memory of Vittorio Renelli, 85 years of Sudbury who passed away Wednesday, April 18th, 2007 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. He was born in Fano, Pesaro, Italy and married Dina (Zenobi) in Italy in 1947. Vittorio came to Sudbury in 1953 from Italy. A Roman Catholic he belonged to St. Patrick's Parish. He was a member of the Cavaliere della Patria. He had been a custodian at the Sudbury Catholic District School Board for 20 years retiring in 1987. He loved fishing, making wine and spending time at his camp on Penage, and gardening. Vittorio will be remembered as a hard working man who was a good provider and always quick to help others. He was devoted to his loving family especially his precious grandchildren and he was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandchild. Beloved husband of Dina (Zenobi) Renelli of Sudbury. Martha Bouwina Buikema (née Faber) July 06, 1904 - April 17, 2007 Peacefully at Shalom Manor, Grimsby on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 the Lord called home a remarkable mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Oma Buikema, a woman who showed us what it really means to live a full, rich and joyous life. What a role model she has been for our family. And while her light may have been extinguished, she'll always be there as a beacon to guide us. Born in Waddinxveen, The Netherlands on July 6, 1904, she was the loving wife of Jakob Buikema for 55 years until his death in 1988. She immigrated to Burlington in 1951 where she made her home. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Ann Buikema-Werkman, and son-in-law Gus Buist, brothers: Gabbe and Sip, sisters: Hiltje, Wina, Co and Sien. She was a loving mother of Ken and Christine Buikema of Burlington, John and Henrietta Buikema of Beamsville, Bini Buist of Burlington, Alice and Gary Veenman of Elora and Bert and Eve Buikema of Burlington. Loving Oma of 28 grandchildren and 78 great-grandchildren. Without exception, they all sensed the special privilege of having her as their grandmother and great-grandmother. PENTLAND, TPR PATRICK JAMES Tpr Patrick James Pentland, 23 of Geary N.B. passed away 11 April 2007 while providing assistance to others in Afghanistan. Patrick the youngest son of Jim and Gabi (Joossens) Pentland and younger brother to Tony Pentland was born in Lahr, Germany 13 Jan 1984. Patrick attended Oromocto High School and formally finished his academic education through the tutoring of his mentor and friend Mrs. Lynn Hastings of Oromocto at the Oromocto Adult Learning Centre. Patrick joined the military in August 2004 and achieved his desire to be posted to the Royal Canadian Dragoons in Petewawa, Ontario upon completion of entry level unit training. Patrick deployed with B Squadron, RCD as part of the Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group to Afghanistan in Jan 2007. Patrick was a quiet and modest young man who always enjoyed a challenge and because of his physical abilities felt an obligation to protect others who were unable to protect themselves. Patrick was known as a quiet individual with a sense of humor that those close to him had the opportunity to see and enjoy. Patrick shared a great love of animals and showed his gentle side around them. Patrick volunteered at both the Oromocto and Petawawa SPCA, spending time with and walking their dogs. This also helped Patrick overcome the recent loss of his own dog of 14 years whom he was able to be with as he (Nigel) passed on this year. Patrick dedicated a number of years to fitness and was proud to be a student and friend of his Judo sensei Mr J.P. Catin of Waterville. Patrick was also an avid computer gamer and had a wide variety of people he could relate to through both his physical and intellectual hobbies. Patrick is survived by his only brother Tony, parents Jim and Gabi, maternal grandparents Dieter and Edith Joossens of Freiburg, Germany and Annelie and Gerhard Mueller of Erlangen, Germany and maternal great-grandparent Maria Niederau of Dueren Germany. Paternal grandparents, Jim and Jean Pentland of Nerepis N.B. Patrick also has several aunts, uncles and cousins throughout Canada, the US and Germany. Rochelle “Rocky” Gray After a 10 year battle with heart disease, Rochelle Gray of Timmins died at the Ottawa Heart Institute on April 19, 2007. She was born in Berwick, Nova Scotia on July 13, 1955 to Archibald Howe Jordan and Clara Mildred Jordan. Educated at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, she moved to Ontario in 1989. Ms. Gray was a heart transplant recipient on May 8, 1998. She always had a great outlook and always had a way with people. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Ms. Gray was predeceased by her father and by her brother Henry Jordan (Tiny) of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. She is survived by her mother Mildred of Waterville, Nova Scotia; siblings Lindsay Jordan (Lori Cloutier) of Timmins, Gilbert Jordan of Morristown, N.S., Myles Jordan (Judy) of Piccadilly, New Brunswick, Mary Fitzgerald (Joe) of Yarmouth, N.S., Margaret Best (Eric) of Morristown, and Lillian Jordan (Everet Huntley) of New Minas, Nova Scotia; children Katryna Lamb (Kyle) of Cobalt, Johnathan Bennett and Steven Bennett (Chandra Toole) of Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia; spouse Donald Brearley; and grandchildren Regan Lamb, Hilary, Hunter and Ayla Bennett-Toole. The funeral was arranged by McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart with the service conducted on April 23. Cremation has taken place with burial at the Englehart Cemetery. In memory contributions to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family.
