VÉRONNEAU, Jeanne (née Hénault) 1921 - 2007 La famille Véronneau a la tristesse de faire part du décès de Jeanne Hénault (feu Guy Véronneau), fille d'Aurore Gervais et de Lionel Hénault. Maman nous a quittés subitement et paisiblement, dans sa maison. Elle nous laisse de merveilleux souvenirs et nous enveloppe de sa tendresse, ses enfants Josée, Louis et Johanne Boies, André et Christine Scofield, ses petits-enfants : Félix-Antoine, Alexis, Euclide, Delphine, Émilie, Éloïse et Célestine. Elle laisse aussi dans le deuil sa soeur Claire (feu Paul Turgeon), ses neveux et nièces, des parents, des amis. Rév. Père Armand Plourde Au Foyer Notre-Dame de Saint-Léonard, le mardi 10 avril 2007, à l'âge de 72 ans, est décédé le Rév. Père Armand Plourde, domicilié à Saint-Léonard. Né à Saint-Quentin en 1934, il était fils de feu Joseph P. Plourde et de feu Marie-Anne Cyr. Il était membre des chevaliers de Colomb, 3e degré, du conseil 6441 de Kedgwick. Il était aussi membre du 4e degré, des assemblées de Kedgwick et de Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska Le Père Plourde fut ordonné prêtre en l'église de Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes en 1960. Il fut successivement vicaire à Saint-Léonard, Drummond et Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska. Par la suite, il fut administrateur de la paroisse de Sainte-Anne pour ensuite devenir curé à Kedgwick et la dernière paroisse de son ministère actif fut Saint-Léonard-Parent. Il prit une retraite prématurée en raison de maladie et se retira au Foyer Saint-Joseph de Saint-Basile avant de prendre résidence au Foyer Notre-Dame de Saint-Léonard. Il laisse dans le deuil ses frères et soeurs bien-aimés, Jeanne Barette (Marc-Édouard), Elélianne Gignac (feu Gérard) et Fernande Arbour (feu Antoine) de Québec, Gérard (Jeanna) de Nouvelle, Québec, Lionel de Saint-Léonard, Dorothée Giroux (feu Alfred) de Québec, Dolor (Anne) de Hull, Québec, Armande Routh (Stephen) de Bradenton, Floride, Gisèle Beauchemin (Rodrigue) de Trois-Rivières, Québec, Dolorès Duong (Nhut Minh) de Québec, Louis (Annette) de St-Louis-de-Kent, Alyre (Léna) de Siegas, François (Ghislaine) de Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Huguette Plourde (Bertin Sirois) de Saint-Léonard et Françoise Tardif (Brian) d'Ottawa, belle-soeur, Dorina Plourde (feu Paul-Émile), beau-frère, Michel Pourcelot (feu Thérèse), ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces, cousins et cousines. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée en l'église de Kedgwick le jeudi soir de 19h à 21h. Il sera par la suite exposé en l'église de Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes le vendredi de 14h à 16h et en l'église de Saint-Léonard le vendredi de 19h à 21h et le samedi de 9h à 11h. Ses funérailles auront lieu en l'église de Saint-Léonard, le samedi 14 avril à 11h, et l'inhumation se fera au cimetière de Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. Au lieu de fleurs, la préférence du défunt et de la famille était que vous acheminez un don à la fondation Marie-Guyart de l'incarnation ou au Foyer Notre-Dame de Saint-Léonard. Lloyd Vincent Tucker 1917-2007 RIVERSIDE-ALBERT, NB - Lloyd Vincent Tucker, 89, of Forest Dale Home, Riverside-Albert passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, April 9, 2007 at the nursing home, where his wife, Frances and daughter Edna also reside. Lloyd was born in Albert Mines on June 14, 1917 the son of the late Ernest and Maude Tucker. He worked in the Lumber Industry, working in the woods for many years. He was a member of the Lower Cape Baptist Church and attended the Albert Baptist Church in his later years. Lloyd was a very special person who always had a smile and a "hello there" for everyone he met. He was very well known for his kindness and for his great sense of humor. You could always depend on Lloyd to cheer you up. He especially loved his family. He cherished times spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife, Frances (Douthwright) Tucker; daughters, Louise Butland (Russell) of Alma and Edna Edgett (Avery) of Hillsborough; sister, Marion Copp (Vincent Strong) of Riverview; and by his grandchildren, Bradley Butland, Brian Edgett, Cheryl Simpson (Royden), Karen Steeves (Rod); and by his cherished great grandchildren, Stephen, Jason, Brittney and Chelsea; great great grandson, Colby. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters, Nora, Viola, Carrie, Kate; brothers Willie, Vernon; and by a grandson, Bernard. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 2pm with Pastor Blaine Steeves of the Alma Baptist Church officiating and Pastor David Keith assisting. Sandra Jean Simon 1952 - 2007 ELSIPOGTOG, NB - Sandra Jean Simon, age 55, of Elsipogtog, NB, wife of the late Phillip Joe Simon, passed away at home on Sunday, April 8, 2007. Born in Chatham, NB, she was the daughter of Annie (Francis) Simon and the late Clarence Simon. Carman Walter MacKnight 1938 - 2007 MIRAMICHI, NB - Carman W. MacKnight, 68, of Special Care Home - Edmonde Breau, Neguac, formerly of Burnt Church, N.B. passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on April 9, 2007. Born in Burnt Church on May 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Walter John and Frances Bernice (Loggie) MacKnight. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Carman graduated from Harkins High School in 1958 and from The N.B. Technical Institute, Moncton Campus in June, 1959, where he led his class in Electronic Technology. He worked in that trade for over forty years earning the reputation of being a very competent and reputable technician. He was a member of St. David's United Church, Burnt Church and was active on various boards. Carman really enjoyed outdoor activities; he was an avid hunter, fisherman and bird watcher. He especially enjoyed the moose hunting trips and was involved in bird counts and surveys until 2002 when he was forced to give it up due to deteriorating health. Snowmobiling and boating were also his favorite past times. He is survived by a sister, Nan (Donald Johnston), of Miramichi; one brother, Warren (Joan) MacKnight of Moncton; one niece, Lisa Steeves; three nephews, Robert and Barry MacKnight and Christopher Johnston. Family will receive relatives and friends at St. David's United Church in Burnt Church on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 2 pm at St. David's United Church with J.D. Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in the Burnt Church Union Cemetery. OCHSMANN, HERBERT - The death of Herbert Ochsmann of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, occurred unexpectedly on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Dresden, Germany on December 19, 1934. Herbert was employed with Atlantic Towing Company for thirty years until his retirement in 1998. Survived by his son, Gunter Brunne of Pesterwitz, Germany and his sister, Helga Kober of Grobraschen, Germany, his companion, Audrey Beechim and her family of Grand Bay-Westfield. GRAHAM, DOLORES W. - 81, of Lakeville passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, April 9, 2007. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Louise (Whitenect) Thompson. Dolores was retired from the Federal Government, Superannuation Dept. (Clerk) with 32 years service. Dolores was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch #6, former member of the Halifax Militia & The Royal Canadian Navy Sea Cadets, Moncton; she was a Veteran of the 2nd World War, served with the Royal Canadian Army. Dolores will be sadly missed by her sister, Margaret Sprague (Art), Saint John; brothers, Murray Beasly (Dorothy), Darrell Buck (Laura), Arnold Buck (Donna), Denton Buck (Marilyn), all of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. BATTERSHILL, HAROLD WILLIAM - Harold William Battershill of Quispamsis NB passed at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday April 8, 2007. Born on May 1, 1948. Harold was the grandson to the late Harry and Alice (Urmson) Fisher. Harold worked for Canada Post for over 25 years, was a breeder of Basset Hounds and loved the Saint John Flames. JONES, BERTHA G.- The death of Bertha Grace Jones (Hicks), widow of Gerald Lawrence Jones, occurred at her residence, Lakeview Manor, on Thursday, March 1, 2007. Born in Havelock, NB on February 1, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Jennie Steeves (Hicks) whose parents were Maxwell and Ida (Thorne) Hicks of Havelock. Being a graduate of Havelock High School and Oulton's Business College, Bertha Jones was employed with Clogg's Jewelers, and for numerous years as a receptionist with Dr. J. B. Stewart in Moncton. She was a life member of the Sir Charles G. D. Roberts Chapter IODE and a Municipal Life Member, serving on the Provincial and National Executives. She also volunteered her time working on the executive committee and serving Meals on Wheels for numerous years. She is survived by her daughter Sheila Horsman (Douglas) of Moncton, three grandchildren, Jonathan Horsman, Heidi Horsman, and Bernice Jones, and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald in 1992, and her son, Richard in 1987. By request there will not be any visiting hours prior to the memorial service which will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 2 p.m., in Cadman Bowness Funeral Home, 114 Alma Street, Moncton. WALLS, SUSAN MARLENE - Susan Marlene Walls of Fredericton, formerly of Blackville, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2007, at the Cardiac Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Blackville, NB, on September 11, 1953, she was the eldest daughter of Roland (Doad) Walls and the late Ida (Grady) Walls. She is survived by two sons, Noah and Matthew (Kristen) and their father Steven Whitenect; one sister, Carla (Paul) Brophy; one brother, Randy (Joy) Walls and their children, Charity and Jonathan. She was a graduate of the N.B Teachers College and the University of N.B and later trained as an Interior Decorator and Gemologist. Sue had a wide circle of friends and despite her health challenges, she maintained her sense of humor and zest for life and was always fun to be with. Following her recent heart surgery, she voiced her renewed appreciation for the many blessings of family and friends. She was most proud of her beloved sons, Noah and Matthew. The family will receive family and friends at St. Andrew's United Church Hall in Blackville on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Thursday, April 12, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. HARDING, DOROTHY "DOT" Her death occurred on April 6, 2007 in Kingston, Ontario. She was born on Sept. 27, 1924 to Stewart and Alma Murphy. She was the widow of Jack Harding and is survived by her children Gerri Stephenson, Bill and John (Janet) Harding. Grandchildren David Drover, Jody and Jamie Harding, Ricky and Jennifer Harding. Her brothers Donald, Bill, Stewart and sister Betty. Many nieces and nephews. Since losing her eyesight, Mum spent many hours knitting wool socks for the Shelters in Fredericton and Kingston. WALLER, ELLEN SCOVIL (TRITES) At the Atrium Unit of York Manor, Ellen Scovil (Trites) Waller passed away on Saturday April 7, 2007 at the age of 94. Born in Harmony, Maine, she was a daughter of the late James Walton and Amy Nichols (Scovil) Trites. Ellen worked as a registered nurse, employed for many years in the "case room" of both the Victoria Public Hospital and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. She was a life long member of the Saint John General Hospital Nurses Alumni; a life member of the Anglican Church having been a member of the Trinity Church (Sussex), Christ Church Cathedral and St. Mary's Anglican in Fredericton. She was a former member of the Violet Club. Ellen loved dogs and owned many over the years, with a particular fondness for beagles. She is survived by three daughters Joanna Campbell Rugg (Keith) of Houghton, NY, Wendela Brien (Gordon) of Fredericton, Patricia Ann Bell (Vaughan) of Sussex; one son Walton Waller (Linda) of Fredericton; grandchildren Peter K. Campbell, Barbara D. Campbell, Wendy Lynn Campbell Comishen (James), Dr. Susan Ellen Brien-Hoshizaki (Blaine), Dr. Heather Jane Brien-Orfi (Jan), Jeffrey D. Brien (Andrea), Emily L. O'NEIL, Dorothy "Do" Merle (nee Muir) Do, on Sunday, April 8th, 2007 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa. Do was a woman who loved life and lived it in an exemplary way. She is survived by the man she adored for 60 years, her husband, Bill; and her beloved sister, Daphne and brother-in-law, Peter Wilson. She was cherished, cared for, and admired by her daughters, Janice and Kathy (Al), and her son, Jeff (Lisa). Her grandchildren, Katie, Danielle, Tom and Andrew, are better people for having had "Gramma" colour their lives. She was loved and will be missed by her in-laws, Ron & Heather Backs; her nieces and nephews; and too many lifelong friends to list. We trust that you're now with your beloved Clara, Mom. MURDOCK, Christene On April 8, 2007, Margaret Christene Murdock, born on July 24th, 1950 in Truro, Nova Scotia, completed her life's journey at her home in St. Albert, Alberta at the age of 56 years. Christene is remembered for her graciousness, dignity and joy of the adventure of living. She devoted her life to her family and friendships. Her smile lit up any room she walked in. Her friendships were deeply felt. She loved the art of dance and celebrated the creative arts in her family and the many children and young men and women she came to know wherever she went. Christene brought full meaning to the life of her husband, Dr. Alan Murdock whom she married at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Ottawa on April 28, 1979. Her spirit lives on in her children Jennifer (Toronto), Heather (St. Albert) and Andrew (New York City), her mother Verna Hunter and sister Karen Archibald of Truro, Nova Scotia. She is remembered with love by her brothers and sisters in law, Wayne and Janet Murdock (Bancroft, Ontario), Myrna Fenton (Ottawa, Ontario), Linda and Michael Kolodziejczyk (Victoria B.C.) and Joan Thompson (London, Ontario) as well as her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father George Hunter and brothers in law Ross Archibald and Gordon Fenton. Her family extends their most profound thanks to the many friends of all ages who have supported and cared for Christene and us. MAZEROLLE, Vivian (née St. Germain) - 1942-2007. The family announces with sorrow her death in Sturgeon Falls, Sunday April 8, 2007, after a courageous battle against cancer, surrounded by her family, at the age of 64 years. Daughter of the late François and of the late Dorina (née Martel) St.Germain. Loving wife of Jean Claude Mazerolle of Sturgeon Falls. Dear mother of Lucille Betzema (Arnold) of Estevan, Sask., Terry Mazerolle of Vernon, B.C., Carmen Desbois of London, Ont., Lynn Robineau (Gilles), Morgan Mazerolle (Kim), Gisèle Gingras (Denis) and Tracy Mazerolle all of Sturgeon Falls. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 18 grandchildren, Derek, Tara, Shelby, Tascha, Tasha, Darren, Jerika, Morgan, Nathan, Alexis, Brooke, Brittany, Jason, Sabrina, Savanna, Pascal, Vincent ,Keena and by her 2 great grandchildren Alexie and Samyha. Predeceased by one grandson, Nathan. Also survived by her brothers and sisters Léona Chartrand (late Roland) of Sturgeon Falls, Lillian Desbois (late Moise), Lucille Brouse (Gordon) and Léodé St-Germain (Denise) all of Sudbury, Valencia Savard (late Richard) of Kelowna, B.C. and Raymona Larocque (Raymond) of Azilda. Vivian enjoyed gardening, strawberry and blueberry picking and was an avid bingo player.Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at the West Nipissing General Hospital and particularly to nurses Stephanie, Yvonne, Roxanne and Dr. Parsons and Dr. Anawati for their exceptional care. ASIALA, Kirsti M. (nee Kyllonen) - In loving memory of Kirsti M. (nee Kyllonen) Asiala, 92 years, who passed away on Monday, April 9th, 2007 at the Finlandia Koti, Sudbury. Kirsti was born in in Kakisalmi, Finland and married Armas Asiala in Sudbury in 1959. Kirsti came to Sudbury in 1953 from Finland. An industrious person, she was originally a seamstress at Mary's Ladies Wear Store. She then worked at INCO's Boarding House at Levack, after which she had been the owner of Sister's Ladies Wear and retired from Leinala's Bakery as a baker. She had been a dedicated and active member of the Finnish Pentecostal Church. Beloved wife of Armas Asiala predeceased 1984. Loving daughter of Kusti and Ida (Pirhonen) Kyllonen predeceased. Dear sister of Elsa Kantelinen (predeceased), Kalle Kyllonen (predeceased), Ellen Pasivirta (predeceased), Irja Koivula of Finland, Toivo Kyllonen (predeceased), Veikko Kyllonen (predeceased) and Olavi Kyllonen (predeceased). Beloved aunt of Matti Pasivirta (wife Marlene) of Sudbury. Sadly missed by many relatives and friends in Sudbury, U.S.A., Vancouver, Finland, Sweden and England. COUGHLAN, MAMIE B.F. - Miss Mamie Coughlan of Blackville passed at the Miramichi Hospital on Sunday April 8, 2007, at the age of 77. Born in Blackville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Sturgeon) Coughlan. She was a teacher and taught at the Vocational School in Saint John, NB. She was a member of St. Andrews United Church in Blackville. Mamie is survived by one sister, Margaret O'Neil of Fredericton; one brother, Robin (Ardyth) of Lakeville Corner, NB; one brother-in-law, Robert Sturgeon; one sister-in-law, Grace Coughlan; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Myrna Coughlan and Pauline Sturgeon; three brothers Leland, Elgee, Aubrey and his wife Laura. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Holy Trinity Church in Blackville on Wednesday April 11, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday April 12, 2007 at 2 pm at St. Andrew's United Church in Blackville with Rev. Penny Postlethwaite officiating. Burial will be later in the spring.
