INGRAM, HELEN LILLIAN The death of Helen (Magoon) Ingram of Ste Anne's Court, Fredericton, NB occurred suddenly on Thursday, January 4th, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Calais, Maine on February 21st, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Bertha (Riley) Magoon, and wife of the late James Arthur Ingram. Helen is survived by her three children: son, Richard (Judy) of New Maryland, NB; daughters: Janet Bamford (David) of Ottawa, ON, and Joan Maybee (Kenneth) of New Maryland, NB; her sisters, Mary Sexsmith of Fredericton, Marilyn Roper (Lee) of Florida, and Kaye Ketch (Douglas) of Fredericton, NB; 8 grandchildren: Larry and Kim Maybee; Douglas, Karen and Leslie Bamford; and Nicholas, Jennifer and Jordan Ingram; 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and was also loved by numerous faithful friends gathered over her 91 years. Her parents, her husband, her sister, Elsa Williamson, and her brother, Donald Magoon, predeceased her. Helen was a Charter Member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Oromocto, serving as Past Matron, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93 Ladies Auxiliary. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held from the Chapel of the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, January 8th, 2007, at 2:00 pm with Reverend Margie Patterson officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery, Oromocto. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Helen's name to the New Brunswick Lung Association. Born June 5, 1926 to the late Harold and Jean (Culberson) Gartley. He is survived by his wife Ruth (MacDonald) Gartley, Upper Woodstock; daughter, Betty Grant (Roy) Jacksontown; sons, William (Paula) Jacksonville; and Herbert (Fort McMurray) AB; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Dickinson (Clarence) Hartland, NB, Shirley Sharpe, Woodstock; brother, Weldon (Joyce) Lindsay; sisters-in-law, Alma and Louise; several cousins; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ralph was predeceased by brothers, Glen, Ivan and Bob; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Sharpe. Resting at the Carleton Funeral Home in Jacksonville where friends may call on Friday 7 to 9 pm, and Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Bernadette Allain 1926-2007 Richiboucto-Village, NB - Bernadette Allain passed away at her residence in Richibucto-Village, NB on Thursday January 4, 2007 after a lengthy illness at the age of 80. Born on June 20, 1926 in Richiboucto-Village she was the daughter of the late Hector Boucher and the late Marie Richard and the wife of the late Acquilla Allain (2002). She worked for several years in a fish and seafood processing plant and attended Saint-Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richiboucto-Village. She was also a member of the Richiboucto-Village Golden Age Club. Bernadette was survived by two daughters, Jeannette Allain (Aubrey) of Richiboucto-Village and Doris Allain (Normand) of Saint-Joseph de Kent; two sons, Ronald (Anne-Marie) of Richiboucto-Village and Norman (Diane) of Bouctouche; five sisters, Albertine Daigle, Léona Richard (Delphin) both of Moncton, Yvonne Babineau (Albert), Angela Doucet (Maurice) both of Cap-Lumière, Florence Gray (Leo-Paul) of Richiboucto-Village; four brothers, Ernest, Alcide (Rita), Clarence (Dorine) all of Cap-Lumière, Roger of Saint John; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bernadette was predeceased by three sisters, Bernice, Yolande, Dorina; and four brothers, Aurèle, Normand, Emery, and Raymond. Roy W. Baillieul 1923 - 2007 Roy W. Baillieul 84, of Moncton with members of his family at his side passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday January 4, 2007. Born in Port Hawksbury, NS he was the son of the late Charles and Annie (Morrison) Baillieul. Roy was a veteran of the 2nd World War, served with the RCAF and retired from the RCAF with the Rank of Captain in 1970 with 28 years service. His second career was with Canada Manpower and Immigration with 13 years service. He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of Moncton Legion Branch # 6. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his best friend "Susie the Dog", family and grandchildren. Leonard N. Perron 1924 - 2007 Leonard Perron passed away at the Veterans Health Center, Moncton, on Thursday, January 4th 2007. Born in Chartersville on August 9th 1924, he was the son of the late Napoleon and Leonie (LeBlanc) Perron. A Veteran of the Second World War, Leonard served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy. He is survived by his daughters, Cathy Ritcey (late Stuart), Sandra Leger, Vina LeBlanc (Normand) and Helen Tomlinson (Paul) all of Moncton; a son, Gaston Perron of Moncton; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In keeping with Leonard's wishes there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Friends are invited to gather at Fair Haven Funeral Home at 10:45 am on Thursday, January 11th. Born in McKees Mills, he was the son of the late Fred and Bertha (Biggs) Hicks. Kenneth was retired from General Motors Moncton, he was a member of Harrisville United Protestant Church, and served his church in various capacities in past years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and in later years was an avid gardener, he had a great love for his family, especially his grandchildren. OBITUARY GEORGE L RICHARDSON June 11, 1931 - January 3, 2007. It is with regret that we announce the passing of George Lanceford Richardson on January 3, 2007 at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal following complications of a stroke. George is survived by his wife, Patricia; former wife Dorothy; children Chieftain, Arlene, Kenny, Innica, Dawn, Annie and Kataisee; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is greatly missed by his siblings and family including, Erica, Elmore, Randolph, Noel, Charles, Alford, and Calvert; nieces Jacqueline, Marilyn; nephews Marcus, Gabriel and many other nieces and nephews. He will be missed by close friends and relatives in Montreal, Canada, USA, St. Vincent and abroad. Following his graduation from Sir George Williams University (Concordia), he held senior positions at in the capacity of Research Chemist. He was an instrumental force in the Vincentian community and the greater black community of Montreal. He was the longest serving president of the SVGAM. He was involved in many other community activities in the Montreal area. Sincere thanks goes to the caring and compassionate medical staff of the Royal Victoria Hospital. A celebration of George's life will be held at Trinity Memorial Church, 5220 Sherbrooke St W. on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. Cremation has already taken place. BECKSTEAD, Julia Passed away peacefully on January 5, 2007 at The Ottawa Hospital (General Campus) at the age of 56. Julia was surrounded by family and many friends during her brief and courageous battle with cancer. Julia is predeceased by her parents Raymonde and James Archibald of Clive, AB. Julia is survived by her loving husband Frank Beckstead of Mallorytown, ON, brother Harry Archibald (Anne) of Edmonton, sister Nancy Archibald of Lacombe, AB. Also survived by her brother-in-law Bill Beckstead and sister-in-law Lynda Beckstead and nieces and nephews Aaron Williams, Matthew Beckstead, Heather Archibald, Laurel Archibald, Danny Beckstead (Sally), Dale Beckstead, Judy Hunt (Steven), Lisa Beckstead, and Scott Beckstead. She was survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews. Julia enjoyed a long career in nursing leaving a positive impact both in Ontario and Alberta. She worked at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, The Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and the Brockville General Hospital. Julia's love for people placed her in the hearts of all those who knew her as reflected by the many cards and wishes expressed. Julia will always be remembered for her love of nature enjoyed by walks in the woods, golfing, skiing and boating in the Thousand Islands. Julia was born in Lacombe, AB and enjoyed a rural upbringing. She graduated from U of Alberta Nursing School in 1971 and moved to Ottawa. Julia and Frank lived in Alberta for 5 years before moving to Mallorytown, ON in 1986. BOURNS, William Townsend Passed away peacefully, on December 25, 2006, at the Centennial Retirement Residence, Oshawa Ontario, in his 86th year. Bill was born in Balbriggan, Ireland on July 30, 1921, moving to BC, Canada, with his family in 1929. While serving as a member of the RCAF, he met and married Lorna Wood Johnson of BC in 1944. Bill became a Chemical Engineer (UBC 1949 ), and hired onto the Atomic Energy branch of the NRC (later AECL), and moved with his young family to Deep River, Ontario, in 1949. Bill and Lorna were longtime residents of Deep River, where they raised four children, finally moving to Oshawa during the summer of 2006. Active in the community, Bill served on Deep River town council for seven years, was a member of the Deep River Community Church, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Bill retired from AECL in 1983. He enjoyed a hearty interest in bird watching, woodcarving, cross-country skiing and swimming while cheered on by his grandkids. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorna, by his sister Elinor (Pat) Bourns, by his daughter, Maureen, his son Brian (wife Donna), his son Keith (wife Jacqueline), his daughter Shannon (Lafrance, husband Richard), and by his grandchildren: Gordon, Owen, Laura, Eric, Michelle, Evan, and Ola. A memorial service will be held at the Deep River Community Church on Saturday, January 13th at 2:00PM, to be followed by a reception at the Christian Education Center immediately afterward. McKEAGUE, Justin Alexander November 7, 1924 January 5, 2007 Died peacefully at home surrounded by family members. Alex was born to the late Samuel and Nora McKeague and grew up during the great depression on a farm near Sibbald, Alberta, in the dustbowl of the Palliser Triangle. He did a stint in the army in the Second World War and used his entitlement to attend university. He subsequently worked as a school teacher and in soil survey before discovering his true profession in soils research. In December 1961, after obtaining his doctorate at Cornell University, Alex and his family came to Ottawa. He had a productive career at Agriculture Canada for 35 years. He loved his job and was always grateful to the Canadian government for giving him the education that enabled him to find his niche. His career included a posting to Tanzania to work with the Canadian International Development Agency from 1986 to 1989. After retirement, he devoted his energies to environmental sanity, social justice, refugees and tennis. He was always frank about his dislikes, chief of which was wearing a suit and tie. Alex leaves behind his wife Jane McKeague (nee Thompson), with whom he spent 54 loving and eventful years of marriage. He is also mourned by his son Paul (Katya Feder) McKeague and his daughters Elly (Mark Haughey) McKeague, Martha (Don) Hall, Shirley (Peter) Stanton and Ruth (David Gardner) McKeague. Alex was the delighted and devoted grandfather of Isaac, Sarah and Samuel McKeague; Lucas and Kate Parker; Rebecca, Madeline and Bridget Hall; Crystal, Taylor and Haley Stanton; Rachael, Charlotte and Elizabeth Gardner. He is also survived by his brother Vernon (Jackie) McKeague and sister Florence (Don) Menck. He faced death with grace and courage. "I'm ready for the road," he said. The family would like to thank all the health professionals who provided able and compassionate care over the last three years. The family also appreciates the support given by church and friends. In recent years, Alex was part of a group at Trinity United Church who established a foundation to redistribute wealth from the affluent to the poor of the world.
