CRIBB (Lamoureux), Agathe Isabelle. Daughter of the late Theophile Benoit and the late Beatrice Hebert. In Ottawa on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, after a short illness at the age of eighty-eight. Agathe was born in Chrysler, Ontario on April 17, 1918. A resident of Montreal for most of her adult life, she moved to Brookside Manor in Kanata, Ontario 3 years ago to be closer to her family. She was predeceased by her first husband Jos Lamoureux and by her second husband Fred Cribb, by her brothers Bruno and Roch, and by her sisters Gaby and Monique. She will be remembered by her children, Josette (David) Ellis of Carp, ON, Jacques (Diane) Lamoureux of Calgary, AB, Joe (Sandra) Lamoureux of Port Alberni, BC and her stepchildren Fred (Marthe) Cribb of Quebec, Terry (Guilaine) Cribb of Morin Heights, QC. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Matthew, Eric, Suzanne, Luc and Alixe. The family would like to thank the staff of Brookside Manor for their loving care. Family and friends will meet in Chrysler for a celebration of Agathe's life at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to further Alzheimer research. Paul-Émile Bernier 1919 - 2006 À l’Hôpital Enfant-Jésus, Québec, le 14 décembre 2006, à l’âge de 87 ans 2 mois, est décédé M. Paul-Émile Bernier (infirmier retraité de la clinique Roy-Rousseau), époux de dame Ange-Aimée Roy. Originaire de Saint-Eleuthère, monsieur demeurait à Québec. Il était le fils de feu dame Hélène Ouellet et de feu monsieur Jean-Baptiste Bernier. Les membres de la famille vous accueilleront à La Seigneurie Coopérative Funéraire 2450, av. St-Clément, Beauport (autoroute de la Capitale, sortie Bourg-Royal no 318) le lundi 18 décembre 2006 de 14h à 17h et de 19h à 22h de même que le mardi 19 décembre 2006 de midi à 13h30. Les funérailles seront célébrées ce mardi à 14h, en l’église de St-Ignace de Loyola, 3325, rue Loyola arrondissement Beauport. Le corps sera par la suite mis en crypte au cimetière St-Charles. DOANE, Elizabeth (nee Ellis-Toddington) Of Regina, Saskatchewan and most recently Ottawa, Ontario passed on peacefully in her 93rd year on December 11th, 2006 at the Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre in Ottawa. Beloved wife of the late Walter R.L. (Wally) Doane and loving mother of Doreen (McMullin) of Ottawa, Ontario and Wayne Doane of Langley B.C. Adored mother-in-law to Sylvia Doane and Lauchie McMullin. Elizabeth (Beth) is also survived by her cherished baby sister Fanny of Ottawa and many nieces and nephews across Canada. Beth was predeceased by: her mother, Fanny Ellis-Toddington; her father, Charles Ellis-Toddington; brothers, Charles, George, Alf, Tom, William (Bill) and Norman. Beth served faithfully with the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII, was a loyal member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the R.C.M.P. Veterans (Regina) and a 55-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Saskatchewan with most of her tenure associated with the Legion Branch No. 1 in Regina. The family would like to thank Dr. Douglas R. Bishop and the entire staff at the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre in Ottawa for the professional and caring assistance provided to Beth during her residence. Beth Doane had a wonderful sense of humour and a sweet smile. She was a great friend and helper to many throughout her years. We have all our memories stored safe in our minds, like a wonderful video show of all the times we enjoyed together. To all who have had the pleasure of knowing her, take comfort in now knowing that you have a special guardian angel to watch over you. A memorial service/celebration of Beth's life will be held in Regina, Saskatchewan in Spring, 2007. Information regarding the date and location will be published when the details are finalized. HATTIE FORBES PERRY In loving memory of Hattie Forbes Perry, who passed away Friday, December 15, 2006 at home in Marriott's Cove, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. Born October 22, 1909 in St. Eugene, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Anne Forbes. She trained in nursing at the Montreal Homeopathic Hospital and later affiliation with the Montreal General Hospital, receiving her RN in 1930. Hattie is survived by her husband Dennis, sister-in-law Violet, brother-in-law Guy MacCallum and several nieces and nephews. Hattie was loved and respected by all who were fortunate enough to know her for her ready smile, gentle nature, kind heart and sensitivity to the needy. Hattie will be sadly missed and always remembered. She was also predeceased by her brothers John and Kenneth, sisters Freda, Eurella, Marion, Etta, Elsie and Eva. GREENBERG, Israel Isaac (IZZIE) MEMBER OF BETH SHALOM WWII Veteran WO1 RCAF Passed away on Friday, December 15th, 2006 at Hillel Lodge in his 92nd year. Born in Montreal, Quebec on June 13th, 1915 to the late Pesachya Greenberg and the late Tillie Greenberg (Dacks). Brother of the late Jay Greenberg and Lee Hutt and survived by his sister Rose Konick (Morrie). Father of the late Sheila Smith (Walter Saltzberg) and survived by his children Alan Greenberg (Karen Somerville), Jan Jones, Lisa Shipley, Mischa Ruth Greenberg and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Izzie spent many years as a pharmacist at Cohen's Pharmacy at the corner of Rideau and Cumberland and with the Dept. of Health and Welfare. OBITUARY LLOYD MacDONALD Passed away peacefully on December 14, 2006 in his sleep at the age of eighty-eight. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of fifty-six years (Betty), as well as his children Patricia (John Ellis), Barbara (Louis Robitaille), Marie, Elaine (David Nixon) and his seven grandchildren Danielle, Alexander, Kevin, Glen, Cameron, Westley and Heidi. He was predeceased by his only son David. Lloyd was an active member of both the St. Eustache and Two Mountains communities. A respected businessman who loved his work, Lloyd owned MacDonald Tire Service for twenty-five years. Lloyd was also a very generous man who helped carry out many charitable works as a long-time member (and Past Grand Knight) of the Knights of Columbus. OBITUARY JOHN MACKENZIE P. S. (JACK) Jack passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 10, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, just weeks before his eighty-third birthday. He is survived by his three children John, Chip, and Carolyn, his first wife Annette, brother David, and grandchildren Freya, Liam, Mac and Emma. He was predeceased by his second wife Lois Parkhill and brother Donnie. A native Montrealer, Jack left McGill to proudly serve as a Lieutenant in the Navy. After returning to Montreal he embarked on a career in finance and investment counseling. Jack gave tirelessly of himself as a Board member of many cultural, heritage and nature organizations, including: Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Place des Arts, Nature Conservancy of Canada, Canadian Nature Federation, National Ballet School, National Ballet Company, Shaw Festival, Heritage Canada Foundation, Toronto Free Theatre, Toronto Arts Council, Theatre Plus, Smile Theatre Company, and Artscape. He was honoured for this work when he received a City of Toronto Award of Merit and an Honourary Doctorate from York University. Jack traveled the world to expand his "life list of birds and was most proud of the many books about birds that he authored." His last hours were spent with family, listening to birdsong. In lieu of flowers his family would be delighted for donations to be made to The National Ballet School Foundation or Nature Conservancy of Canada. Peggy loved to knit, garden and socialize. She was always smiling and well liked by everyone. Peggy was most proud of her family and acknowledged to all that she had had a most fortunate life. OBITUARY VIOLET MAY SMALLWOOD (NEE SMITH) 1925 - 2006 With deepest sadness we wish to announce the quiet passing of Violet May Smallwood on the afternoon of Friday, December 8, 2006. Violet was born in Edmonton, AB on June 6, 1925. There she attended school and worked until she met and married Glyn Smallwood in 1947. Glyn worked for the Royal Trust Corporation and they transferred to Vancouver, BC for three years and Montreal, QC for eighteen years before returning to retire in Calgary. In a world of materialism and instant gratification, Vi was a kind and compassionate soul who found goodness in everyone, and a concern for the welfare of others, a quality all too rare in today's world. Violet May Smallwood's memory will be cherished by all who knew her and she will be sadly missed. Violet is lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her two sons, David and Trevor; her grandchildren, Owen and Emma; and her two brothers, George and Jim Smith. Vi was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Glyn (1988); her father Jim (1959), her mother Ellen Simpson (Smith/ 1966), and her step-father Edward Simpson (1969). FAULKNER, William Thomas September 15, 1928 - December 14, 2006 It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce the passing of Bill Faulkner. He was a loving husband to the late Edna Faulkner and an incredible father to his three children, Steven (Barb), Dan (Yvonne) and Judy (Tom). He is also survived by six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Earl (Mae); terrific in-laws, as well as numerous other relatives and friends, all of whom lit up his life. Bill was predeceased by his sister Alice and brother Sid. He will be fondly remembered for his courage and generosity. His knowledge and wisdom for trucks and machinery was profound.
