YEOMANS, R. MICHAEL - The death of Robert Michael Yeomans of Morrisdale, NB, husband of Patricia "Patti" (Porter) Yeomans, occurred unexpectedly on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at his residence. Born in Saint John on June 27, 1957, he was the son of Robert Lloyd Yeomans of Wickham and Avis D. (MacLaren) Yeomans of Saint John. Michael was a self employed General Contractor for many years and was a "Jack of all trades". Mike loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his children, Jason Michael Yeomans (Kari Leslie Shea) and Jillian Dawn Yeomans, both of Saint John; one brother, Stephen Murray Yeomans (Teresa) of Nerepis; one sister, Cynthia Dawn Dockrill (Brian) of Fredericton; two grandchildren, Ethan Michael Yeomans and Avery Robert James Gray Yeomans; maternal grandmother, Betty MacLaren of Saint John; mother-in-law, Eleanor Louise (Wilson) King of Saint John, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. WEEKS, DONALD JOSEPH - Donald Joseph Weeks passed away at St. Joe's Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, ON, on October 3rd 2006. Much loved husband of Elaine, beloved son of Irving Weeks and his wife Mary of Saint John. Predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Smith and sisters Gay, Kay, and Mary. Don was a consultant for Health and Safety Industries for 30 years. The funeral was held on October 6th 2006 in Burlington, ON. O'DONNELL, GUY ALLEN The death of Guy Allen O'Donnell of Fredericton, NB, husband of Virginia (Jen) (Price) O'Donnell occurred on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Carroll's Crossing, NB on May 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Vincent and Helen (Price) O'Donnell. Guy was the Retired Manager of Facilities and Recreation (Dept of Physical Education) at the University of New Brunswick. He was a member of the All Saints Anglican Church, the Elks Club, an avid fly fisherman and he loved the outdoors. Besides his wife, Guy is survived by two daughters, Valerie Gaudet and Peggy O'Donnell both of Fredericton; two sons, Roger (Elaine) O'Donnell of Langdon, AB and Ricky O'Donnell (Anya Juergens) of Strathmore, AB; four grandchildren, Brian O'Donnell, Brandy Davis, Cody Gaudet and Kailie O'Donnell; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Gladys Russell of Fredericton, Olive (Jimmy) Forrest of Toronto, ON and Jeanann Eddy of Toronto, On.; three brothers, Roy (Charlotte) Price of Calgary, AB, Melvin (Sheri) O'Donnell of Ottawa, On., and Brian (Judy) O'Donnell of Carroll's Crossing; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Charles O'Donnell. Although there will be no visitation, a Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday October 4, 2006 at 2pm from the Doaktown Anglican Cemetery with Rev. John Cathcart and Rev. ELLIS, ALBERT WILLIAM "BILL" The death of Bill Ellis of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, September 30th, 2006. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of Josephine (Bodington) Ellis and the late John "Jack" Ellis and husband of Lorraine (nee Collette) Ellis. Bill served in the Canadian Armed Forces (Army Transport) for 27 years retiring as CD. Cpl. HIGGINS, WILLIAM J. – The death of William James "Shakey" Higgins of Long Point, NB, husband of Linda (Latham) Higgins, occurred at his residence on Saturday, September 30, 2006. Born in Saint John, NB he was a son of the late James and Mina (Hoyt) Higgins. Bill was hired on to the Saint John Police Force on June 27, 1965 and was promoted to Detective in 1976. Detective Bill Higgins retired from the Saint John Police Force with over 32 years of service. Most of Bill's policing career was spent in the Fraud Unit of the Criminal Investigations Division. Bill was recognized as an expert in his field by his colleagues and the financial institutions and businesses he served. In 1989 he was recognized by the Institute of Canadian Bankers and was awarded the "Canadian Bankers Annual Recognition Award." In addition to instructing at in-service training courses, Bill was a regular lecturer at fraud seminars, banking and financial institutions, local businesses, and educational institutions on the various methods of defrauding financial institutions, businesses and individuals. In October 1989, he was recognized for his outstanding contribution to the City of Saint John and was awarded the "Ambassador of Goodwill" certificate by Mayor Elsie Wayne. With his keen interest in the history of the Saint John Police Force, Bill soon became known as the Force's historian. His interest turned in to a passion and he co-authored a series of books on the Force's history. Bill was a member and was involved with the choir at Hampton United Church and was a member of Marie Short's Country Jamboree. He was an avid golfer at the Hampton Golf Course and enjoyed painting and woodworking. Bill was a devoted family man who will be greatly missed by his family. Besides his wife of forty years, Bill is survived by his daughters, Karen Higgins (John Clarke) of Morrisdale, NB and Debbie Childs (Phil) of Hampton; his sisters, Jeanette Heans (Bev) and Elizabeth Ferris of Saint John; his step-sisters, Hazel Whittaker (Bruce) of Hampton and Helene Bursey of Saint John, his step-brother; Charles Hoyt of Fredericton, NB; two grandchildren, Regan Lester and Scott Childs; his mother-in-law, Marguerite Latham of Sussex; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his step-father, Clarence Hoyt. Wendall Percy Black August 24, 1933 – September 30, 2006 Wendall Black of Hunter's Home, passed away at home peacefully, September 30, 2006. He was the son of Vaughan and Amy (Paterson) Black, husband to Janet (Geldart) Black, father of Larry (Cheryl) Black and Perry (Lisa) Black, grandfather to Ashley, Megan, Danielle, Nathan, and Alex. Wendall was the brother to Reace Black and seven sisters, Gwendolyn (Harley) Keith, Marie (Walton) Keith, Velma Black, Myrna (Stuart) MacLeod, Beatrice (Clifford) Scribner, Alta (Robert) Tait, Clara (Ron) Boyd, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Norma Ross. Wendall has worked in construction for many, many years – with a passion for bulldozing. He was an avid hunter and outdoors man, a life member of the New Brunswick Conservative Party, he and his wife owned and operated W.P. Black & Sons Ltd. Store & Restaurant for 47 years. Douglas W. Beck (Dougie) 1929 - 2006 REXTON, NB - Douglas W. Beck (Dougie), 77 of Rexton, NB, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Friday, September 29th, 2006 after having suffered a stroke at his home on Thursday. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rexton on March 27th, 1929 he was the son of the late William Beck and Minnie (Wilson) Beck. He Is survived by his wife of 46 years Shirley (Cairns) Beck; his son Byron and his wife Lisa of Rothesay; his daughter, Darcy LeBlanc and her husband, Stephen of Richibucto. He is also survived by two loving grandchildren, Jacob (Byron), and Morgan (Darcy) and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Doug was predeceased by six brothers, Earl, Sherman, Harrison, Bonar, Kenneth and Ronnie; and two sisters, Maude and Vera. Doug spent his entire working career working for the Province of New Brunswick, Department of Transportation, as a Maintenance Supervisor, building and maintaining bridges across our province for 44 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Richibucto. RHYNO, CATHELENE MARY - It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Cathelene Mary (Sutton) Rhyno. She passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 27, 2006. Cathelene is survived by sons, Richard, William, Ronald, Danial and Randall Hebert; sisters, Isabel Finley (Kenneth), Marjorie Atcheson (Norman); nieces, Valerie Harrity (Tommy), Lori Hoben (Merle), Karen Foley (Nick); nephews, Robert Finley, Gary Atcheson (Jackie); and several grand nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Rhyno; and two sons, Thomas and Andrew Hebert. She was the daughter of the late Byrne and Greta (Logan) Sutton. Cathelene, better known as "Katie" will be remember for her kind and jolly nature. She was employed at Sobeys for a number of years, then at Simms Brush Factory for a number of years. Cathelene enjoyed playing cards and was an avid country music fan. She also liked to shop and her favorite thing to buy was earrings. Cathelene was a people person and was always the life of the gathering, she will be greatly missed. At Cathelene's request no visitation will be held. HAWKINS, FRANK ARTHUR The death of Frank Arthur Hawkins of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, September 30th, 2006. Born in Keswick Ridge, NB, he was the son of the late Myles and Myrtle (Griffiths) Hawkins. Frank was a longtime employee of the Fredericton City Transit until his retirement in 1997. Frank's passions could safely be said to be his visits to Tim Horton's, where he was actually known by name, and his love of motorcycles. Survived by two daughters, Anna Ward (Paul) of Douglas and Stacey Murphy (Richard) of Penniac; one grandson, Tanner Murphy; and one sister, Ruby Jean Hawkins of Fredericton. JESSIE (ANNETTE) FARQUHAR WYMAN Annette Wyman of Fredericton passed away peacefully at Saint John Regional Hospital on September 27th, 2006. Born in Dumbarton, Scotland on January 16th, 1924, she was the daughter of Josiah and Helen (Young) Campbell. She was predeceased by her husband, Major Sydney Russell Wyman of Hebron, Nova Scotia. Survived by daughter Carol Ross (Floyd) of New Maryland, NB; son Eldon Wyman (Doreen) of Edmonton, AB; grandsons Christopher and Stephen Wyman; and step grandchildren, Georgie Murray(Jason) and Ian Ross. In the fall of 1946 she arrived at Pier 21 in Halifax as a war bride, to start her new life in Hebron, Nova Scotia. As an army wife, she traveled extensively across Canada, lived in St. Andrews and finally settled in Fredericton, NB. Her lifelong passion was ballroom dancing that she thoroughly enjoyed sharing with all ages. She loved gardening, needlework and competitive games. She was a keen volunteer in the Canadian Girl Guide movement; one of the founding members of the Alzheimer Society of Fredericton; and a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Canadian Legion. The celebration of Annette's life will take place at New Maryland United Church on Thursday, October 5th at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Bill MacLeod officiating with internment at the Riverside Cemetery, Hebron, NS. at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7th, 2006. GOURLEY, NEVILLE It is with saddened hearts that the family of Neville Gourley announce his passing on September 29, 2006. Neville is missed by his wife and soul mate, Philippa; daughter, Pamela Clark (Cory); and son, Michael. He is also is missed by his mother, Georgene Tomilson; brothers, Edward (Carol), David (Verna), and Dennis (Barbara); sisters, Barbara Mills (David), Linda McKeown (Victor); aunts, Audrey Francis and Loena Todd; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and his pride and joy, grandchildren, Mason and Jeralyn Gourley and Craig Clark. Neville was a quiet man who lived his life through his family. He had a variety of careers over the years and was a member of the IOOF Victoria lodge for many of them. Neville was a car racing enthusiast in his younger years, and in his partial retirement years returned to his interest through old car restorations. He was also an avid hockey player and spent many years playing his favourite sport with the Barkers Point Oldtimers. Mary Maynes HALIFAX, NB - Maynes, Mary Augusta- After 94 wonderful years shared with her family and friends - the family of Mary announce her passing on September 30, 2006 at Northwood Care in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In her final days Mary received visits from her family and friends and spent her time preparing us all for her passing. Mary was born on July 1, 1912 in Baie Verte, New Brunswick. The only child of Hattie and Henry Richardson she married Tom Maynes and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage prior to Tommy's death in 1993. Mary's life was accomplished as she graduated from the Ladies College at Mount Alison University and then ventured into business. Mary owned a hair salon and then a ladies clothing store, Mary's Dress Shop, in Sackville, New Brunswick. Mary was predeceased by her only child, Sharon Coates-Huffman and grandson, Mitchell Beal. She is survived by her granddaughter, Kim Slack and husband, Stephen Slack of Bridgewater; and grandson, Shawn Coates of Halifax. Mary's pride and joy were her great grandchildren, Brennen, Zachary, Mallory and Madison. Mary was surrounded by many friends and family whom she considered very special in her life included in this family was Randy Beal whom she considered her " little boy". Mary was active for many years as a golfer at the Amherst Golf and Country Club and the Sackville Golf and Country Club. In the winter months she curled with the several groups at the Sackville Curling Club. Mary volunteered at the Moncton Hospital for more than ten years working at the Pantry and in the Newborn Hearing Screening Program. Mary considered Sackville, New Brunswick her home . She also lived in Amherst, Nova Scotia and Moncton, New Brunswick. In 2002 Mary moved to Nova Scotia to live with her granddaughter, Kim and family. Wilfred T. Adams 1948-2006 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mr. Wilfred Thomas Adams, son of Mildred and the late Thomas Adams, of Black River Bridge, passed away on arrival at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, early Saturday morning, September 30, 2006, at the age of 58. Born in Chatham, on August 30, 1948, he was the son of Mildred (MacDougall) and the late Thomas I. Adams. He was an industrial and diesel mechanic by trade. He was a member of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Adams, of Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, Miramichi; one daughter, Charla Adams, of Kitchener, Ont.; one son, Rodi Adams, of Woodstock, Ont.; three sisters, Doris Taylor (Dawson), Black River Bridge, Vera James (David), of Miramichi, Della O'Neill (John), of Miramichi Bay; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was born in Rybany, Czechoslovakia and married Miroslav “Mike“ Burian in 1970. Maria came to Sudbury in 1968 from Czechoslovakia. She had worked in the dietary staff at Pioneer Manor for 15 years, retiring last year due to illness. She enjoyed crafts and gardening. A real people person she will be remembered as strong willed, determined and always generous. Many observed she had been a saint on earth during her husband's illness in her attentive care and support. Maria was a loving and devoted mother. Beloved wife of Miroslav “Mike“ Burian predeceased 2003. Loving mother of John of Ottawa and Pavel of Sudbury. Dear sister of 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Sadly missed by relatives in Europe. KLEBER, Jerzy (George) - Passed away peacefully at Laurentian Hospital on Wednesday, September 27th, 2006. Beloved husband of Jadwiga (Vicky). Survived by loving daughters Christine Schwartz and husband Rick of Scarsdale, NY; Janine Bullock and husband John, of Baldwin, Ont., and cherished grandchildren Matthew, Alyssa, Gregory and Corey. Predeceased by beloved daughter Barbara, brothers Paul and Gustaw, and sisters Anna and Zuzanna. Born in Poland on December 22, 1912, he earned his Mechanical Engineering degree at Szkola Przemyslowa, then furthered his studies at the Science University in Grenoble, France. He served in the Polish army in France in 1940, and with the Polish forces in Great Britain from 1942- 1945. After immigrating to Canada, he worked as a Senior Designer with Inco Engineering from 1952 until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of The Institute of Polish Engineers in Great Britain, past president of the Sudbury District Canadian Polish Congress, founder of the Polish Evangelical Lutheran Church in Toronto, and faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was an avid gardener, walker and nature lover. His loss will be deeply felt by family and friends in Canada, Poland, Germany and England. HAMILTON, LEON STEWART The passing of Leon Stewart Hamilton occurred at his residence on Sunday, October 8th, 2006. He was 69. Anglican by faith and a laborer most of his life, he was a son of the late Morley and Eliza (Gordon) Hamilton. Survived by a sister, Frances Mary Green (Hamilton) and several nieces and nephews. HARRIS, ANGELINE RUTH "ANGIE" - passed away on October 8, 2006 at her residence, Rocamaura Nursing Home, at the age of 83. She was the wife of the late Arthur C. Harris. LECOUTER, JUSTINE MARIA "MARIE" (HACHEY) – Surrounded by her family, the unexpected death of Marie Lecouter of MacKay Street, Saint John, NB occurred on October 8, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Marie was born on May 25, 1943 in Rogersville, NB, a daughter of Edgar and Therese (Caissie) Hachey. She worked at the Saint John Regional Hospital in the Housekeeping Department for 25 years until her retirement. Marie was a member of the R.O.A.B., T.O.P.S. (1512) and the Cathedral Parish. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and was an avid bingo player and Blue Jays fan. SWINWOOD, DOROTHY EULALIE – The death of Dorothy Eulalie Swinwood of Saint John occurred Sunday, October 8th, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in 1929 in Campbell's Bay, QC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Daisy (MacLane) Toner. Dorothy was a bookkeeper and had worked for the QE II Hospital in Grand Prairie, AB although most of her life was spent in Ontario, she lived here in Saint John for the past 14 years. Memories of her beautiful smile and love of laughter will comfort her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, working on crossword puzzles and playing with her little cat Chelsea. Born in Burton, NB she was a daughter of the late Oren and Amy (Smith) Banks. Ivy spent many years working at the Salvation Army Thrift Store. HARDIE, MARGARET WHYTE The death of Margaret W. Hardie occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Wednesday, October 11th, 2006. Born on March 27th, 1920 in Uddingston, Scotland she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Helen (Whyte) Paterson and wife of the late Robert Hardie. Margaret was a Life Member of Bothwell Castle #54 in Scotland, a Life Member of the Margaret Chapter #41 and the Order of the Eastern Star as well as a member of the Oromocto United Church. She is survived by her sons, Robert "Bert" (Beverley) of Lower Sackville, NS, Andrew (Glenda) of Fredericton, NB and John (Margaret) of Burton, NB; five grandchildren, Scott Hardie, Beth Simon (Darcy), Sarah Hardie, Robert Hardie, and Heather Holtby (Al); six great-grandchildren, Madeline Simon, Kelsey Simon, Lucy Simon, Robert Holtby, Carson Holtby and Shaun Holt by; two special nieces, Allison Harll and Lorraine Stevens; one special nephew, Edward Harll as well as many nieces and nephews in Scotland. TRECARTIN, JUANITA PHYLLIS - 86, of White Head Island, NB passed away peacefully at the Grand Manan Hospital Tuesday October 10th, 2006. Juanita was born of the late John and Estelle (Maher) Morse on White Head Island, from where she made her home with her late husband Laurence and raised her family. She was a kind person and enjoyed having her family and loved ones near her and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the White Head Baptist Church. Born on December 29, 1915 in Lynnfield, NB, she was the daughter of the late Stewart Samuel Way and the late Beulah Emma (Patterson) (Way) Keef. Marjorie graduated from Provincial Normal School in 1934. She was an active member of St. James United Church, Perth Andover and their UCW and was a very religious lady. She is survived by one son, Terrence "Terry" G. Boone of the Loch Lomond Villa; one daughter, Sandra (Boone) Greer of Saint John; three grandchildren, Christopher Greer (Kelli), Tamara Ward and Bradley R. K. Master Warrant Officer Ret. Arthur George "Jim" Eyles, SANDLAKE, CAPE BRETON, NS - Arthur George "Jim" Eyles, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2006 at the Glace Bay Healthcare Complex. Born in Jersey Channel Island, UK, he was a son of Eunice (LeJehan) and the late Arthur George Eyles. Jim came to Canada in 1952, joined the RCAF and served our Country for more than 33 years as an Aero Engine Technician, retiring as a Master Warrant Officer in 1986. At Sandlake, Jim enjoyed gardening, farming, race cars, wrestling and loved to walk. While in the military, he was involved with search and rescue, financial counselling, and scuba diving instruction. He was also a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 55 in Port Morien. Jim was very active with his church in Miramichi, NB and here in St. Anthony's parish. Besides his mother, Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marie Helene (Mazerolle) Eyles; daughters, Deborah Ann Young (Larry), Wilmot, NS, Charmaine Marie Eyles, Halifax, Joanne Michelle Eyles (Terry Neary), Glace Bay; grandchildren, Justin and Shawn Young, Curtis, Caitlin and Courtney Green; sisters, Dawne Buesnel and Carole (Neil) Mourant both of Jersey Channel Island; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alexander W. MacNaughton 1925 - 2006 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mr. Alexander William MacNaughton, husband of the late Jessie MacNaughton, of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, and formerly of Napan, passed away at his residence, on Tuesday afternoon, October 10, 2006, at the age of 80. Born in Black River Bridge, on October 19, 1925, he was the son of the late R. James and Myrtle J. (MacDonald) MacNaughton. He was an adherent of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge; a past member of the C.N.I.B. of Miramichi; a former Chairman of the Residents Council, of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home. He is survived by two nieces, Myrtle Allen, of Moncton and Shirley Lucas (Denton), of Barrie, Ont.; three nephews, Norman Anderson, of Texas, Harry Anderson, of California and Leonard Anderson, of Oklahoma. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Jessie M. Taylor; four sisters, Nina Anderson, Mary Dick, Iva McLenaghan and Estella MacNaughton. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. CHIASSON, THOMAS C. The passing of Thomas Charles Chiasson of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Monday, October 9, 2006. He was 94. Born January 23, 1912 at Grand Etang, NS, he was the son of the late Daniel and Suzanne (Aucoin) Chiasson. He served with the R.C.A.F. from 1942-1945 as a Radar Technician. Thomas graduated from MacDonald College with a Bachelor of Science degree (Agriculture) in 1935 followed by a Masters Degree in 1955. He moved to Fredericton in 1937 to begin employment at the Experimental Station. He married Della Meade in 1942. He retired in January 1972 and moved to Cape Breton. In 1979 he returned to Fredericton and lived with his son following the passing of his wife in 1993. In October 2003 he moved to Pine Grove Nursing Home where he resided until his death. Thomas is survived by a daughter, Lynda Birks (Michael) of Charters Settlement and a son Charles (Judith) Chiasson of Fredericton; grandchildren, Jonathan and Karen Humes, Holly Golding and Adam Chiasson; five great grandchildren; a sister, Sister Catherine of Moncton and a brother Alphonse (Mary) of Cape Breton, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters. There will be no visitation by request. CONLEY, MYRTLE - Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on October 9, 2006, Mrs. Myrtle Fanny (Lord) Conley, wife of the late Carroll Quentin Conley, of Pennfield NB and formally of Fairhaven NB. Born at Fairhaven, on December 24, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Horace and Nellie (Lord) Calder. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by one son, Brian (Sheila) Conley of Rollingdam NB; two daughters, Gloria (Paul) Henderson of Quispamsis, NB, Barbara (Kerry) Luther of Portland, ME; four grandchildren, Danny, Tony, Troy and Cathy; eight great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Verna Theriault. Myrtle loved to pass the time by knitting, crocheting and completing crossword puzzles. She was known for baking the best apple pies and volunteering her time with the Women's Missionary Society in which she was a long time member. COPELAND, BARBARA FRANCES. – of Saint John, passed away at the SJRH on October 6, 2006. She was born in Battersea, London, England and was the daughter of the late Cecil and Grace (Paddy) Clark. Barbara was employed for many years as a Secretary at the General Hospital and the Saint John Dry Dock. She was very active in many musicals and loved to sing, sew tapestries, knit and play scrabble. Barbara resided at the Loch Lomond Villa nursing home for the past six years and the family wish to extend their thanks and appreciation for the care of our Mother. Barbara is survived by her six children, Susan Crouse (Gordon), Christopher Copeland (Carol), Janet Fowler (late Michael), Carol Copeland (Jim), Gillian Rowley (Walter) and Keith Copeland (Bonnie). Marion R. Fownes 1915 - 2006 Marion R. Fownes, of The Drew Nursing Home, Sackville and formerly of Royal Court, and Dixon Blvd, Moncton passed away at The Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday October 10, 2006 at the age of 91 years. Walter E. Harper 1937-2006 Walter Everett Harper, husband of Beatrice (Bea) passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, October 9th, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Harper Settlement, he is the son of Marie Berry (Robb) and the late Walter Harper. Wally was in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1954 - 1959 and worked as an Industrial Mechanic for 30 years, 20 of which were at CNR. After retiring from CN he worked for 8 years in Africa as a Mechanical Consultant. He returned to Canada in 1996 to become a full time golfer for the past 10 years. In addition to his mother, Marie, he is survived by his wife, Beatrice (McLellan) of 45 years; son Dan (Bev); daughter, Debbie Smith (Joe); brothers, Aubrey (Lois) and Edward (Bev); sisters, Betty Lewis (Fred) and Alice Young (Nelson); grandsons, Jesse and Logan Smith; several nieces and nephews and his beloved cat "Bud". Wally will be fondly remembered by his many friends and was a proud member of the Petitcodiac Valley Golf and Country Club where he held the position of Captain for the past five years. JoAnn Irving- Mitton 1941-2006 Upper Dorchester, NB - JoAnn Irving-Mitton of Upper Dorchester passed away at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Sunday October 8, 2006 surrounded by her loving family. Born October 10, 1941 in Truro, NS, she was the daugther of the late Alden and the late Patricia (Cousins) Irving. She was an accomplished laboratory technician, serving in several positions, but most notably with Agriculture Canada, until her illness forced her retirement in the late 1990's. She was predeceased by her husband G. Irving Mitton in 2003. JoAnn will be sadly missed by her three children; Jeff Daniels (Kerry) of Montreal, QC, Patricia Stewart (John) of Oxford, NS and Kerry Daniels of Halifax, NS; her stepson, George Mitton (Leigh) of Upper Rexton, NB; her sister, Holly Irving of Lake Echo, NS. JoAnn is also survived by her beloved grandsons, MacKenzie, Landon, Alex, Michael and Jeffrey. Jo's love of life was nowhere more evident than at her farm Locham Brae. Her animals were more residents than livestock. Her own artwork adorned the walls and her meals were true culinary experiences. Her Knitting creations were made from the wool of her own sheep that she hand spun and every year she considered her gardens to be the best to date. Jo imparted this love of life to her family and friends and enriched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, 15 Rte La Vallee, Memramcook on Wednesday, October 11 from 6 to 9 pm. DICKINSON, NINA Born in Southampton, NB on August 4, 1917 died peacefully at Windsor Manor in Kelowna, BC with family by her side on October 4, 2006. Nina was predeceased by her husband Willard in 1988. She is survived by her family; two daughters: Bonita (Arthur), Kelowna, BC and Faith (Willard), Port Angeles, WA; two sons: Leo (Dorothy), Kelowna, BC and Laurie (Jeanne), Errington, BC; stepson Archie (Cynthia), St. John, NB; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, the latest great grandchild being Isaiah Pilato, who was a special joy for Nina. Funeral service, Tuesday, October 10 at 1:30 PM in the KLO Road Baptist Church, 1370 KLO Road, Kelowna. Interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. LENENTINE, MERLE RUSSELL - The death of Merle Russell Lenentine of Mount Saint Joseph and formerly of Boisetown, NB, occurred at the Nursing Home on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the age of 77. Merle is the husband of Bertha (Munn) Lenentine and son of the late Harold and Veral (Schriver) Lenentine. Merle retired from the Rock Brook Camp, Boisetown as a fish and fire warren. Survived by two daughters, Dixie Sweeney (Rick) of Miramichi and Rose Marie at home. Six sisters, Mae McCarron of Woodstock, NB, Grace Hayward (Leonard) of Durham Bridge, NB, Judy Dickison (Robert) of Campbell Settlement, NB, Carolyn McKay (Harold) of Upper Caverhill, NB, Catherine Mazzerolle and Nona Thomas (Peter) of Prince William, NB; two brothers, Walter (Irene) of Hunter River, PEI and Leland (Fran) of Geary, NB; sister-in-law, Clara Lenentine of Kingsley, NB; one special granddaughter, Shauna Sweeney and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant son, Louis Russell (1956); sister, Rosie Tompkins; two infant sisters, Audrey and Eva Lenentine; and six brothers, Lorne, Robert, George, Edmund, Paul and Keith. Visitation will be held at Bell's Funeral Home on Monday, October 9, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and then on Tuesday at the Miramichi First Pentecostal Church Holtville from 11 AM until the time of the funeral. Funeral Service will be held from the Miramichi First Pentecostal Church at 2 PM. Burial will follow in the Cameron Hill Cemetery. Simon Casley UPPER COVERDALE, NB - Simon Vernon Casley ,49, of Upper Coverdale passed away Thursday October 5, 2006 at the Moncton Hospital following a sudden illness. Born in England, he together with his family came to New Brunswick in 2004. For many years Simon was involved in the construction trade and recently he was employed with On Target Courier. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and walking his dogs but family was most important. Survived by his beloved wife Lucy; cherished children, Benjamin of England and Samantha, Riva and Bradley at home. Predeceased by his parents, Douglas and Josephine and an infant son Zak. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral will be held from the Chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday October 11 at 2 p.m. with Rev.
