LONG, Jack Ray - Beloved husband and lifetime partner of Charlotte Marie (Holcomb) for 58 years; dearly loved father of John (Darlene) of Timmins, Michael (Adriana) of Brantford, David (Nancy) of London, Barbara of Ottawa; loving Grandpa/ papa to Jessica, Jennifer and Joanna Long, Courtney and Aaron Long, Joshua (Erika) and Danielle O'Connor; predeceased by parents Russell and Grace Long and survived by sisters Betty Steward and Janet Hart. Born in Windsor, Jack dedicated his professional life to education. He spent 17 years at Stamford Collegiate where he was a successful teacher and coach - winning 2 national championships in Track and Field. He joined the Ministry of Education in 1963 as an inspector and program consultant. He enjoyed his relationships with Phys. Ed staff across Ontario. Stamford honoured him in 2001 as the first inductee into the school's Wall of Fame - and the school gymnasium was named for him. He has remained in close contact with the school and his former students. In 2004, he was inducted into the Niagara Falls Sports Hall of Fame. A memorial service will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, August 25, 2006 at 3 p. m., with visitation one hour prior. Rev. WRIGHT, George W. - George W. Wright, born December 19, 1941 of Havelock, N.C. formerly of Forestville, N.Y. Passed away August 14, 2006 at the Britthaven Nursing Home in Havelock, following a long illness. His wife, Christine Wright, formerly of Kingston, Ontario and his children and grandchildren were by his side. He was in the Army, stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. Went to Germany 3 years - George was a Journeyman Machinist, tool and die maker. He was a member of the Forestville Fire Dept. (EMT). Loved helping others. She continued to enjoy her colleagues as a member of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario until a debilitating stroke 3 years ago. Eva was active in community matters in the Niagara area, especially in the Guild of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Port Robinson, for nearly 50 years. Eva will be remembered for her ongoing pursuit of knowledge, her engaging intellect, her high expectations and her love of beauty. He later became owner of Niagara Rubber Supply of St. Catharines, creating thriving business it is today. He was well respected by both customers and employees. Ken's sense of humour was enjoyed by both his golf and curling buddies...Proud to have broken 90 once! Ken loved jazz and big band music, as well as radio comedy and C.B.C. Radio. He was a loyal member of Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in Port Dalhousie. Special thanks to Dr. Dennis Whitty who never gave up on Ken. Thanks also to Pat and her fellow nurses for all their good care. At Ken's request, cremation has taken place. LUCIW, Fred - In loving memory of Fred Luciw, 93 years of Val Caron who passed away on Monday, August 21st, 2006 at the Elizabeth Center, Val Caron. Fred was born in Copper Cliff and married Pauline (Kobusiak) in Sudbury in 1939. Fred owned and operated the Crescent Confectionary Store from 1954 until 1971. Upon retirement he settled on the family farm in Val Caron. He enjoyed hockey and he was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He was a creative inventor with an inspired work ethic. Beloved husband of Pauline (Kobusiak) Luciw predeceased 1993. Loving father of Don (wife Carol) of Val Caron and Pat (husband Garth Craig) of Hanmer. SANDBERG, Helen (nee Robillard) - In loving memory of Helen Sandberg who was born May 29th, 1932 and left her loving family August 22nd 2006. Helen leaves her only daughter Linda in the caring arms of her son-in-law Richard Grylls. She was loved by her grandchildren Alisa and her husband Gavin Bray and Chanda and her husband Steve Mahaffy. Helen was adored by her great grandchildren Nolan, Harper, Celia and Kalem. Her family was the most important thing to her in the world. Our hearts ache just thinking about how lonely we will be without her. Nolan knows that Gramma Helen is gone to heaven and he gets to keep her new cat. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond and her sister Anita. In younger days, Helen enjoyed dancing and she will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour which she generously shared with others having the great gift of making people laugh. DOWDING, John - born 28th of September 1939, son of Kenneth Paul and Ellen Mary Perren. John was a beloved Husband to Jennifer Mary and a wonderful father to Mark, Sarah and Robert Dowding. Grandfather to James, Emily, Jenny, Laura , Jillian, Elliot, Zachary and baby Isaac. John Dowding emigrated from England to Canada with his family in 1973 where he pursued a career in the food processing industry. Starting in Brockville, and working for Cow and Gate, he then moved to Woodstock and Cambridge working for Borden's, and Hostess Frito Lay. He retired from Hostess/Frito-Lay on September 28, 2004. John had been living with Cancer for the past four years, and passed away on August 20th at 4.55pm. John will be remembered by family and friends for his generous spirit and loving nature. There will be a memorial service held at Heartlake Baptist Church in Brampton located at 10245 Kennedy Road north at 2 pm on Friday August the 25th. Although flowers would be greatly appreciated, Dad's wishes were that a gift be given to World Vision in place of the flowers. PREVOST, Amy Eleanor - Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital during the early hours of August 19, 2006, with her family by her side, in her 64th year. Amy Prevost (Kohn - nee Konig) beloved wife of Reo. Loving mother of Helenmarie (Ed) Marshall of Sudbury, Kimberly Durofil (Denis) of Woodbridge, and Kirk Kohn (Paige Acherman) of Vancouver and stepchildren Gaby Prevost (Richard Turner), Linda Demers (Gary Young) and Sharon Vida (Greg Kelly). Predeceased by her mother Helen Gurnick and father Frederick Konig, stepfather Andrew Gurnick, brother Frederick Konig Jr. and son Robert Andrew Kohn. Dearly loved by her grandchildren Carol, Robert Marshall, Derek, Kristen and Daina Durofil. Dear sister of Bob (Eva) Gurnick, Andrea Feeley (Don McMurray), Michael (Nola) Gurnick, Tim (Anita) Gurnick. Amy will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends. HARPIN (Jacques) — Au CSSSRY (Hôtel-Dieu), suite à un long et courageux combat, est décédé M. Jacques Harpin à l'âge de 63 ans. Outre sa conjointe, Jacqueline Beaudoin, ledéfunt laisse quatre soeurs et deux frères : Réjeanne; Gérard (Suzanne Trudeau); Jacqueline; Thérèse (Clément Fontaine); Marie-Laure (Gaston Hébert); Daniel (Carole Sévigny); ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces; nombreux autres parents et amis. La famille tient à remercier le personnel de l'Unité deé soins palliatif de l'Hôtel-Dieu pour tes soins et le réconfort qu'ils ont apporté à Jacques. Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la Société canadienne du cancer seraient appréciés. Selon ses volontés, il ne sera pas exposé, sera incinéré. Il y aura exposition des cendres dès 13 h au salon. Sous la direction de la Résidence Funéraire Maska 5205, bouL Laurier Ouest, Saint-Hyacinthe. Une liturgie de la parole aura lieu le samedi 26 août 2006 à 15 h, suivie de l'inhumation des cendres au cimetière de Saint-Hugues.

LALONDE (Marcel) — Au CSSSRY (Honoré-Mercier), le 16 août 2006 est décédé M. Marcel Lalonde à l'âge de 81 ans. Il a rejoint son fils Réjean, décédé en 1998.
