MAILMAN, BONNIE KARON KATHERINE The death of Bonnie Mailman of Gagetown, NB, occurred peacefully at the Gagetown Nursing Home on Sunday, May 14th, 2006. Born in St. Thomas, Ontario, she was the daughter of Bernadine (Lale) Tribe and the late Vincent Tribe and the wife of Donald Mailman. Survived by her husband, Donald; her two daughters, Kellie Gordon (Douglas) of Waasis, NB and Sheryl Mailman (Norm LeBlanc) of Pettawawa, ON; grandchildren, Lindsay, Alyssa and William; her mother, Bernadine Tribe of Ontario; her sisters, Barbara and Kathy as well as several nieces and nephews. Bonnie was predeceased by her father, Vincent as well as her brother, Glenn. Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17th, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Elizabeth Morrison Ozmon Elizabeth Morrison Ozmon, 64, of Charlottetown, Halifax and Sackville, NB, beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 14, 2006. Born in Bangor, Maine, she was the daughter of Eva G. Morrison and the late Raymond H. Morrison, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education at the University of Maine at Orono, where she met her husband. She was a person of tremendous dignity, elegance and grace, but will be remembered above all for her steadfast devotion to her family. She gave everything of herself to them, expecting no more than a smile or hug in return. She delighted in nothing more than spoiling her three grandchildren, Emma Ozmon-Roberts, Griffin Ozmon-Roberts and Angela Kim. She is also survived by her mother, Eva; her husband, Kenneth L. Ozmon; her daughter, Kendi E. Ozmon and son-in-law, Brian T. Kim; five brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Angela F. Vecchio-Ozmon. Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 22, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Canadian Martyrs Church, 5900 Inglis Street, Halifax. A Memorial Service and reception will follow at a later date. MacKINNON, WILLIAM ANGUS - The death of William Angus MacKinnon of Champlain Heights, loving husband of Frances Josephine (Campbell) occurred on Tuesday May 16, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1911 in Rollo Bay West, Prince Edward Island, he was the son of the late James A. and Mary Eliza (Wilson) MacKinnon. William was a Teacher in Prince Edward Island prior to arriving in Saint John where he worked for MRA's Ltd in the Carpet Department for many years and retired from Guilford's Ltd Saint John. He was a member of Knights of Columbus # 8364 and had been a server in his parish for many years. He is survived by sons Walter (Sharon) of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Gerard (Susan) of Bedford, NS and Norbert (Lucille) of Quispamsis; seven grandchildren, Roger, Kenny, Lisa, Elizabeth, Susannah, Grant and Julie and several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Hugh J. and James C. MacKinnon. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) with visitations on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. WINCHESTER, RICHARD G. (DICK) - Richard G. (Dick) Winchester, husband of Colleen (nee O'Neill) Winchester, passed away May 15, 2006 in Saint John at the age of 79. Born in Saint John on July 11, 1926, he was the son of the late Burkett N. (Burt) and Annie (Peters) Winchester. Dick served in WWII from March 1943 - September 1945 (Royal Canadian Air Force). During his service Dick flew on the Lancaster, which was shot down, and was a P.O.W.. He then worked for the city of Saint John Fire Department after the war. Dick re-enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1954 (Fire Fighter), with rank of Sergeant. After the military he worked for Canada Post until his retirement. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #2, where he enjoyed visits with "the boys". In past years, Dick was an avid golfer and past member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed spending most of his time with his "best friend" Sasha who will greatly miss him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Judith Eddy of Ottawa, ON; son Richard Winchester (Judy) of Regina, SK; step daughter Susan Eisner (John) of Saint John; sister Dorothy Conley of Saint John; brothers Malcom Winchester of Kars and Maurice Winchester of Saint John; grandchildren Ian and Dylan Winchester and Jamie and Jeff Eddy and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Clair, Gordon and Vincent Winchester; sisters Constance Williams and Marion McDevitt, son in law Jack Eddy and his first wife Isabell (Stewart) Winchester. BAIN, George Charles Stewart It is with great sadness that we announce George's death in Halifax on May 14, 2006. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Marion, in 1998, he is survived by his son, Christopher, his wife, Jane, grandsons, Sam and Jonathan; brother, Ian, his wife, Lorna, and sisters Moyna Seiderman and Sheila. George began a distinguished career in journalism as a copy boy with the Toronto Star in the Thirties and for the next forty years he served as reporter, columnist and editor with the Star, the Toronto Telegram, the Globe and Mail and the Halifax Chronicle-Herald. He joined the RCAF in 1941 and served as a pilot in 424 Squadron, Bomber Command, flying against targets in Germany, Italy and Sicily. In 1979, he became the first dean of journalism at King's College, Halifax, which in 1986 awarded him the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law. In 1983, he was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Literature by Carleton University. He was appointed Officer of the Order of Canada in 2001. He was a frequent contributor to national magazines and guest on CBC radio and television. He was the author of five popular books and won the Stephen Leacock Medal for humour. HOLMES, Leila "Gwen" (nee Wood) Peacefully at home, in her 72nd year, following a courageous battle with leukemia, on Saturday, May 13, 2006. Beloved wife of Bruce of 46 years. Gwen leaves behind her son Greg of Calgary (Suzanne) and grandchildren, Justine, Paige, Brandon and Erika. Born at South River Ontario. Predeceased by parents Clayton and Hazel Wood. Survived by brothers John (Joan), Robert (Beverley) of North Bay Ontario. Also missed by several relatives in the North Bay area. Gwen was employed at Deloitte & Touche for over 20 years. She was an active member of Southminster United Church and will be sadly missed by the "Book Club girls". Gwen requested immediate cremation. There will be a memorial service at Southminster United Church, Bank Street at Aylmer Avenue, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 19th followed by a reception in The Ladies Parlour. HOLMES, Leila Gwen (nee Wood) - Peacefully, at home, in her 72nd year, following a courageous battle with leukemia, on Saturday May 13, 2006. Beloved wife of Bruce of 46 years. Gwen leaves behind Her son Greg of Calgary (Suzanne) and grandchildren, Justine, Paige, Brandon and Erika. Born at South River Ontario. Predeceased by parents Clayton and Hazel Wood. Survived by brothers John (Joan), Robert (Beverley) of North Bay Ontario. Also missed by several relatives in the North Bay area. Gwen was employed at Deloitte & Touch for over 20 years. She was an active member of Southminster United Church and will be sadly missed by the Book Club girls. Gwen requested immediate cremation. There will be a memorial service at Southminster United Church, Bank Street at Aylmer Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19th followed by a reception in The Ladies Parlour. A private interment service will be held at Pinecrest Cemetery at a later date. A longtime Baker Street resident he was a well liked and respected member of St. Volodymyr's Ukrainian Orthodox Church where he supported the church's ministries and building. He enjoyed fishing and he was an avid gardener. The focus of his life was his loving family. Beloved husband of Vella (Mouhan) Wasilenko of Sudbury. Loving father of Rev. BUSH Donald Lyle Donald Lyle Bush of Claresholm, AB, beloved husband of Leah for fifty years, passed away May 13, 2006 at the age of 73 years. Donald was the dear father of Lynn (Rob) Cowie, Nanton, AB; and Shelley (Norm) Foxcroft, Claresholm. He was also the loving grandfather of Jennifer and Bryan Cowie; and Sarah, Katelin and Teagan Foxcroft. Donald was in the automotive business for twenty-five years and a Fire Inspector for the Provincial Fire Commissioners Office for fifteen years. Don was a Volunteer fireman and former Chief of the Claresholm Fire Department. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, curling and traveling. He was a member of the Stavely Elks and a former member of the Claresholm Rotary Club. GREGORY Keith Ronald 1952 - 2006 Keith Ronald Gregory, of Calgary, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2006 at the age of 53 years. Keith was born on November 12, 1952 in Calgary, AB and grew up in the Montgomery and Bowness area. Following his education, Keith began his apprenticeship as a brick layer. His work can be seen throughout the city and surrounding areas. He had a passion for golfing, fishing and being outdoors. Most of all he was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.
