BOURASSA, André, S.J. 1927 - 2006 À Montréal, le 18 avril 2006, est décédé à l'âge de 78 ans, le P. André Bourassa, s.j., après 58 ans de vie religieuse. Né à Verdun, il fit ses études au Collège Saint-Ignace de Montréal et entra chez les Jésuites en 1947. Ordonné prêtre en 1961, il fut professeur dans les collèges jésuites (1962-69) et à l'Institut de Marine de Rimouski (1970-85); il exerça aussi son ministère aux Îles Grand Turk et Caicos. Outre ses confrères jésuites, il laisse dans le deuil ses frères Hector et Fernand, neveux et nièces, cousins et cousines, parents et amis. MANNING Brenda Lee On April 16, 2006, Brenda Lee Manning of Drayton Valley, formerly of Calgary, died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 39 years. She is survived by her loving family, spouse, George Cloke; mother, Doris Manning and stepfather, Phillip Jamison; father, Walter Manning and stepmother, Charlana Manning; Brenda's in-laws, Tom and Betty Cloke; three brothers, Barry (Myriam), Richard (Mandy), and Ryan; special grandmother, Edith Hiller; dear uncle, Cyril Cloke. GONZALEZ Nathaniel (Boy) 1946 - 2006 Nathaniel Gonzalez of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the age of 60 years. Nathan was born on March 26, 1946 in Paracale, Cam. Norte, Philippines, he came to Calgary in 1992 to join his family. Nathan worked with Quebecor Printing for many years, he loved fishing and was very supportive of his family, dedicating his love and support to them and taking great care of his mother. He was a quiet and simple man. Besides his mother Amparo Gonzalez of Calgary, Nathan is remembered by his sisters and brothers, Grace Gonzalez of Edmonton, Rosario (Tony) Ignacio of Winnipeg, June (Billy) Gonzalez of the Philippines, Vivian (Rizal) Reyes of Calgary and Leslie Gonzalez of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. CASSIDY Mary "Joanne" (nee Murray) 1945 - 2006 Mary "Joanne" Cassidy (nee Murray), beloved wife of Gerry of Calgary, passed away early on Monday, April 17, 2006 surrounded by family at the age of 60 years. Joanne succumbed after a long and courageous struggle with kidney cancer. Besides her loving husband of thirty-seven years, Joanne is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Cassidy (Bryson) and Erin (John) Yarmchuk; and son Craig Cassidy. Joanne was born on October 7, 1945 in Saint John, NB to Margaret and the late William Murray Jr. She is also survived by her sisters, Suzanne (Tom) Read, Linda (Rick) Costello, and Catherine (Jevan) Watson; brother William Murray; sister-in-law Pamela Hamm; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joanne and Gerry moved from Saint John to Calgary in 1969. She worked for a short time, but spent most of her years as a committed wife and devoted mother to her children. Her main interests were her family, friends and beloved poodles. Joanne will always be loved...and will be dearly missed. Gilles Albert l'Acadie Nouvelle - 19 avril 2006 SAINT-LÉONARD - À l’Hôtel-Dieu de Québec, le dimanche 16 avril 2006, à l’âge de 68 ans, est décédé Gilles Albert, époux de Fabienne Belzile, domicilié à Saint-Léonard. Né à Saint-Léonard en 1937, il était fils de feu Ludger Albert et de feu Délina Beaupré. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil trois fils: Sylvain (Danie Daigle) et Alain (Line Fontaine) de Saint-Rédempteur-de-Lévis, Qc et Daniel (Henrik Krogstad) de Montréal; cinq petits-enfants: Alex, Félix, Raphaël, Ève-Marie et Amélie; ses frères et soeurs: Léon (Dorothy Goodine), Alberta (Paul Anderson), Claudette (Thomas Daamen) et Pierrette de Sarnia, Ont., Laurette (Réal St-Germain) et Aldéa (Leroy Harris) de Grand-Sault, Hilda de Fort Myers, Floride et Régis de l’Ontario; ses beaux-frères et belles-soeurs Belzile: Germain, Placide (Pauline), Suzanne, Blandine, Viateur (Jacqueline), Jacinthe (Danny) et Raymonde, ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces. Deux frères: Étienne et Edgar, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. M. Albert était un ex-officier des douanes canadiennes. Enseignant à la retraite, il était autrefois directeur adjoint de l’école Grande-Rivière de Saint-Léonard. Il était autrefois officier de la Marine royale canadienne et par conséquent était vice-président de la Légion royale canadienne, filiale 52, de Saint-Léonard. Il était agent de pastorale et président du comité de pastorale de la paroisse de Saint-Léonard. Il était membre du Club de l’âge d’or de Saint-Léonard, secrétaire de la Société culturelle de Saint-Léonard, administrateur du Cercle culturel et historique Hilarion-Cyr et secrétaire du Cartorium Samuel-de-Champlain. Il était aussi administrateur au Carrefour d’immigration rurale inc. La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée au salon Guy O’Regan, 83, rue Saint-Antoine à Saint-Léonard (www.oregans.ca). Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église de Saint-Léonard, le jeudi 20 avril, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Heures de visites: le mercredi 19 avril, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le jeudi 20 avril, de 9h30 jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. FREELAND: David Albert - Passed away peacefully with dignity at North Bay General Hospital, McLaren Site, after a vibrant battle with cancer, on Tuesday April 18th, 2006. David Freeland, the beloved and cherished brother of Jane Siemens (husband Greg), was in his 49th year. Dearly loved and devoted uncle of Amber and Mitchell Siemens. Predeceased by his loving parents, Albert and Genevieve(nee Pedlingham) Freeland. Fondly remembered by several aunts, uncles and cousins. David was a very committed workshop employee at F.J. Dellandrea Place and Country Heritage, since 1976. He was a passionate, long-time seasonal ticket holder for the Skyhawks and the Centennials hockey teams. Although mentally and physically challenged, his courageous bravery and determination to live life independently with many support systems during the past ten years, was a success in itself. David will be sadly missed by many people in our community and especially his long-time caring roommate, Jon Tennyson. Rest in peace our special dear friend<$>.until we meet again. Mac Donald, Sandra 1964-2006 À Valleyfield, le 6 avril 2006, à l’âge de 41 ans, est décédée Mme Sandra Mac Donald, conjointe de Jacques Jr Maisonneuve. Elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille Michèlle MacDonald, son petit-fils Rick Mac Donald, sa mère Luce Myre, ses frères et soeurs, André Jr Léger, Daniel Mac Donald, Sonny Mac Donald, Sonia Mac Donald, Cynthia Mac Donald, Linda Mac Donald ainsi que ses neveux et nièces, parents et amis. Elle a rejoint son père feu Elmer Mac Donald. Les funérailles ont eu lieu le mercredi 12 avril à 15h à l’église St-Mark à Valleyfield. La crémation fut confiée au Centre funéraire Ernest Montpetit & Fils inc., 315, Danis, Valleyfield (450) 373-3511. L’inhumation aura lieu ultérieurement au cimetière Hillside à Hawsburry, Ontario.

SMITH, Colin Grant. (B.A. Queens University). Colin passed away on Tuesday, March 28, at St. Mary's Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. Born in Ontario on August 20, 1932. Predeceased by his parents Edwin James Smith and Bernadette (nee Parent) and his wife Betty Anne Warner, he will be greatly missed by his three sisters Barbara Wood of Oakville, Beverley (and Jim) of Kingston and Suzanne King of Ottawa; and his two nephews Greg and Stephen McKellar. Also, by his very dear friend Doreen Walsh, of many years, who tenderly looked after him so well in his last three weeks spent in hospital. NICHOLS, Harold W. (Veteran 1939-1945). Peacefully surrounded by his family on April 13, 2006 at Peel Memorial Hospital, Brampton, Ontario at the age of eighty-seven. Loving husband of Emily Nichols (Pye) for sixty years. Dear dad of Martin (Diane Latendresse) Diane (Yves Menard) and Rosalyn (Mark Stephen). Dear Gramps of Christian and Karine Nichols and Jonathon Stephen. Harold served with 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion attached to 6th British Airborne. He retired from Imperial Oil Montreal East after thirty-two years. He was the first of nine boys. Born to William and Lilian (Cave). Survived by three brothers Clifford, Raymond, Allan and their families. He will be missed and forever loved by family, friends and neighbours. Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. LECOMPTE, Henry Patrick. After a courageous battle with cancer on December 13, 2005 at Mount Sinai Hospital aged seventy five years. PHILLIPS, Herbert Alan Peacefully, Monday, April 17, 2006, after a brief illness, in his 89th year. Devoted husband for 61 years of Dona Long. Proud father of Hunter (Cathy Kane), Rod (Sandiey Fox) and Scott (Bianka Skubnik). Grandpa will be sadly missed by Jesse, Kaili, Cory, Julia, Brendan and Laura. Alan was born in Toronto, son of Herbert and Clara, brother of Janet (predeceased). Alan served in the Air Force in the Second World War in the RCAF and retired from the Public Service in Ottawa in 1983. Alan and Dona spent winters in Maple Leaf Estates, Florida and enjoyed their many friends there and in Ottawa.
