PEMBERTON, Doris Doris Pemberton, 100, of Ottawa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at the Garry Armstrong Long Term Care Home in Ottawa. Born in South Dublin, Ireland she was the daughter of the late William and Freda (Kraft) Crawford. She spent her early years in Manchester and Southport, England, emigrating to Canada in 1949 residing in Cornwall, Ontario, Moncton New Brunswick, Toronto and Ottawa. She was an accomplished cook and homemaker and excelled at knitting. She traveled frequently, especially to Barbados and Yorkshire, England. Doris is survived by her son Pete, and his wife Ruth, of Old Saybrook CT, her grandsons Robert of Ledyard CT and Sean of Kingston, Ontario, her granddaughter Ellen of Hamden CT and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband Fred in 2003, her son Michael and her brothers and sisters. There are no funeral services and no memorial contributions. SOUTHWICK - Constance "Connie" M. (LaVoie) Fredericksen, 88, passed away on Wednesday October 12, 2005 at Noble Hospital in Westfield. She was born in Springfield on January 2, 1917 the daughter of the late George and Marriam (Guest) LaVoie. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Fredericksen, and her sister, Phyllis LaVoie. She was raised in Feeding Hills, attended Agawam schools, and graduated from Agawam High School in 1935. Her class just celebrated their 70th class reunion. She was a resident of California for 50 years before moving to Southwick two years ago. While living in California, Connie was an office manager at several accounting firms. Connie is survived by her sister, Millicent Barnard of Feeding Hills, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. All services are private and at the convenience of the family. LUNENBURG -- Sylvia G. (Leger) Loiselle, of Rivercourt Residence, 8 West Main St., Groton, former longtime resident of Lunenburg, died on Sept. 30, in Sterling Health Care, after an illness. She was born on Jan. 5, 1926, in Fitchburg, the daughter of Wilfred and Alice (Legendre) Leger and was raised in Fitchburg. She attended and graduated from Fitchburg High School. While in school she had been a cashier and bookkeeper at the former Army-Navy store on Main Street in Fitchburg.Mrs. Loiselle was a very accomplished artist in oil, watercolors, and in digital photography and also studied at the Fitchburg Art Museum and the Worcester Art Museum. She was a member of the Fitchburg Art Museum, Sharon Art Center, Worcester Center for Arts and Crafts, and ARTS-Worcester.She was a founding member of Our Lady of the Lake Church. Mrs. Loiselle loved to travel extensively and one of her hobbies was gardening. She had a tin collecton for over 50 years and had a great love for all the arts. Many of her paintings can be seen at local art galleries and on June 3 and 4 of this year, she had a one-woman art exhibit of her work at the Groton Senior Center. Her artwork can also be seen at Rivercourt Residence where she was living.Mrs. Loiselle leaves her son, James M. and his wife Melissa of McLean, Va.; her daughter, Carol A. and her husband Michael J. Shiel of Lunenburg; a brother, Aimee Leger of Fitchburg; and her grandchildren, Stephanie and Brian Shiel of Lunenburg. Her husband of 35 years, Vincent E. LEWISTON - Suzanne Wiseman, 85, of d'Youville Pavilion, and formerly a resident of Auburn and Minot, went home to be with her family and God on Oct. 16.She was born March 7, 1920, in Bonnet, France, one of six children to Georges and Jeanne (Lavallee) Chion.She met Cpl. Vincent Wiseman while he was serving in World War II and later married him on July 7, 1945, in Bar-Le-Duc, France.She gave birth to a son, Alain Wiseman on Jan. 29, 1946, and immigrated to Lewiston later that year.She worked in the shoe industry in Lewiston while teaching herself to read and write English. She loved and missed her family in France and corresponded with them often. She made return trips to visit family by boat and then by plane as permitted.She later retired from the shoe industry and cared for her grandson Jacques Wiseman. Her husband passed away in September 1977.She remained active and could be found riding the bus between Lewiston and Auburn, shopping and visiting the library for many years. She even continued to ride her bicycle along with her grandson throughout the Auburn countryside for many years, and held a special place in his heart. She gave tirelessly of herself to her family, often thinking of them rather than herself. She always enjoyed coffee and a croissant, a day of shopping, or taking in a movie with her grandson. Even when the effects of Alzheimer's had robbed her of many memories, she would always have a smile and enjoy a meal with family at Campus Cuisine, especially with her son and daughter-in-law Barbara Wiseman.She had a special place in her heart for her great-grandson Jake Wiseman, and she loved to hold his hand while being pushed in her wheelchair. She will be sadly missed and thought of often.She leaves a son, Alain Wiseman and his wife, Barbara, of Minot; a grandson, Jacques Wiseman and his wife, Martha, of Mechanic Falls; and a great-grandson, Jake Wiseman.She was predeceased by her three sisters; two brothers from France; and her husband, Vincent.

CHICOPEE - Edna B. Murphy passed away peacefully, with her family at her side on Saturday October 15, 2005. Edna was born on May 1, 1912, one of nine children of Alfred and Maryjane St. Marie of Chicopee. She was the last living member of the nine, predeceased by 5 brothers; Leo, Alfred Ernest, Raymond and Jerome St. Marie and her 3 sisters Lillian and Rose St. Marie, and Viola Desmarais. Her husband, Thomas F. Murphy passed away on October 6, 1979. Edna leaves her 5 children: Marilyn Fallon and her husband Steven, of Westfield; Barbara Van Kirk and her husband Fred of Arcanum, Ohio; William Murphy and his wife Susan of Chicopee; Thomas F. Murphy Jr., of Chicopee and his companion Noreen Robinson of Feeding Hills; and John Murphy and his wife Margaret of Holyoke. Edna had 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Edna's greatest love was her family, and they will always remember her quick wit and friendly smile. She graduated from Chicopee High School in 1928, earning a scholarship to Bay Path College and was a communicant of St. Patrick's Parish in Chicopee Falls. Edna was an accomplished pianist when she met her husband Thomas, who himself was a concert violinist. She retired from A.G. Spalding in 1975 after stitching Major League baseballs for over 20 years and then worked at Holy Name Parish Rectory in Chicopee. She was an avid reader often reading 2 to 3 books each week. Funeral will be held on Wednesday Oct. 19, 2005 at 8:30 AM from the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield Street, Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Patrick's Church at 10 AM. She retired from Smurfit MBI in January 2005 after 35 years of service. The friendships and laughter enjoyed at work were very precious to her. The arrival of grandchildren brought great joy to her life. She was infinitely patient with each of them and celebrated their uniqueness. Lorraine is grateful to the 12 Step Program, and in particular the Fellowship Group for more than 8 years of serenity. Lorraine loved the time she spent relaxing at the cottage with Jean-Pierre. She also doted on her two dogs – Hope and Higgins. Lorraine was a warm, giving wife and mother. She taught others about strength, courage, compassion for the less fortunate and resiliency in one’s life. She loved to laugh and cherished the people who were a part of her life. Sr Viola Beaulieu, rhsj l'Acadie Nouvelle - 17 octobre 2005 - Le samedi 8 octobre 2005, à l’Infirmerie des religieuses hospitalières de Saint-Joseph de l’Hôtel-Dieu de Saint-Basile, à l’âge de 80 ans et 10 mois, est décédée Sr Viola Beaulieu, rhsj, fille d’Alfred W. Beaulieu et de Léa Lagacé de Drummond. Elle laisse dans le deuil un frère, Gilbert de Drummond, qui rendit visite à Sr Viola quelques jours avant son décès, de nombreux neveux et nièces, cousins et cousines. Née le 3 décembre 1924, Sr Viola a fait ses études chez les RHSJ de Saint-Basile et le 2 février 1946, elle y a fait sa profession religieuse. Elle a été enseignante à Saint-Basile, à Bathurst, à Sheila et à l’Académie Sainte-Famille de Tracadie-Sheila. Au cours des dernières années, elle a été, entre autres, secrétaire et archiviste de la communauté et a également été la responsable régionale d’associés aux RHSJ. La célébration des funérailles a eu lieu en la chapelle de l’Hôtel-Dieu, à 16 h, le mardi 11 octobre. Mgr Gérard Dionne, évêque émérite du diocèse, présida la liturgie et prononça l’homélie. Il était assisté des pères Patrice Picard, p.m.é., Alfred Ouellet, ancien aumônier, Romain Trépanier, sm, curé de la paroisse, Fernand Boucher, Jacques Thériault. Les porteurs étaient Robert Beaulieu, neveu, Georges Pérusse, Jacques Bérubé et Réal Lévesque, associés, Arthur Hudon, Olio Martin. Une petite-nièce, Andrée Beaulieu, portait la croix. La rose de l’amitié a été portée par sa nièce, Viola Beaulieu et le livre des Constitutions par S. Alfreda Desjardins, supérieure. Un neveu, Robert, a fait la première lecture et Jacques Bérubé, associé, les prières universelles. Les chants de circonstance avaient été choisis par Sr Viola. L’inhumation a eu lieu au cimetière de la communauté. La direction des funérailles a été confiée aux soins professionnels de la Maison funéraire Clavet inc de Saint-Basile.

BENNINGTON — Hubert Joseph "Huey" Grenon, 75, a longtime resident of Bennington, died Oct. 15, 2005, at the Vermont Veterans Home following a long illness.He was born in Troy, N.Y., Feb. 9, 1930, the son of Anatole and Dorilda (Laquerre) Grenon. He received his education in the Newport, N.H., schools and was a member of the class of 1949 at Towle High School in Newport.A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the United States Marine Corps from Dec. 11, 1951, until Dec. 1, 1953, and was a member of the 1st Marine Division.Following the war, he attended meat-cutting school in Toledo, Ohio, and for many years was employed as a meat cutter at various stores in the Bennington and North Adams, Mass., areas. He later served as the building superintendent at the federal building in Bennington until the time of his retirement.He enjoyed all types of sports and was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Mount Anthony Union High School teams.He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1332 in Bennington and also a member of American Legion Post 13 and Moose Lodge 1223 in Bennington. He enjoyed traveling and attending the functions of the senior citizens clubs in Bennington, Manchester and Hoosick Falls. In earlier years, Mr. Grenon was an accomplished bowler, and he participated in many leagues over the years.Survivors include a sister, Helen Grenon of Bennington; two aunts and several cousins.The funeral will be held at All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at the Gerald B.H. WILKINS, DOREEN M. (NEE WILSON) - It is with great sadness on October 13, 2005, surrounded by her loving family, Doreen Margaret (Wilson) Wilkins passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her loving husband Harold Wilkins and her 10 children; Johnny (Beatrice) of Dartmouth, NS, Judy (Jean-Marie) Gourd of Moncton, Dianne (Donnie) Cormier of Prince of Wales, Cathy (John) Parsons of Saint John, Harold (Tina) Wilkins Jr. of Saint John, Bonny (Danny) McNeill of Saint John, Gloria Wilkins of Saint John, Chuck (Susan) Wilkins of Saint John, Brenda Melvin of Saint John, Bobby (Tara) Wilkins of Saint John, and her 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Max and Wallie and sisters Marilyn and Sheila. Her sister Audrey and brother Richard predeceased her. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed shuffle board. She cherished the Saturday afternoon coffees at the mall with her daughters. MINGUY (Soeur Cécile) Le 9 octobre 2005, est décédée à la Maison Bon-Pasteur à Sainte-Foy, à l’âge de 88 ans, Soeur Cécile Minguy (soeur Saint-Stanislas-Kostka), après 66 ans de vie religieuse dans la Congrégation des Soeurs du Bon-Pasteur. Les funérailles ont eu lieu le mardi 11 octobre 2005 à la Résidence Mgr-LeMay, 1180, chemin Ste-Foy, Québec. L’inhumation a eu lieu au cimetière de la Communauté, rue Pinsart à Sainte-Foy. Soeur Cécile Minguy est née à Limoilou, Québec. Sa vie a été consacrée à l’éducation. Avec ardeur et conviction, elle a su transmettre des valeurs qui ont marqué les jeunes et les adultes qu’elle a côtoyés. Dans notre région où soeur Cécile a aimé vivre, les années 1963 à 1994 l’ont vue « se donner » tantôt à l’École Saint-Michel et l’École du Sacré-Coeur, comme enseignante, tantôt à l’École secondaire Lafontaine, comme Directrice pendant onze ans. Elle fut aussi conseillère et coordonnatrice à la Commission Scolaire, à l’École des Adultes pendant onze ans. Volontaire et toujours fidèle à elle-même, soeur Cécile a mené le bon combat jusqu’à la fin, même au temps de la maladie. Outre sa famille religieuse qui l’affectionnait, elle comptait de nombreux amie(s) parmi le personnel enseignant et celui de la direction scolaire. Lino Nusca March 01, 1935 - October 15, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lino, but it is with joy that he has found his place in his Heavenly home. After a short battle with cancer in his 71st year on Saturday, October 15, 2005 surrounded by his family. Much loved husband of Beverly, his lifelong friend and wife with whom he just celebrated 50 years of marriage. Beloved father of Patrick and Rhonda, Maria and Mike (Maille) and Julie and Kim (Aumais). Cherished grandpa, card player and fishing buddy of Nicholas, Rebecca (Steve), Justin, Tim (Natalie), Steven, Sam, Sally, Nathan and Rachel. Loving great-grandfather of Caden. Survived by his brothers, Nino (Vilma), Joseph (Gloria), sister Clara (Tony) Celi and sister-in-law Mary. Brother-in-law of Donna and Earl Grice and Ed and Joan Cooke. Predeceased by his parents Paolo and Marietta (Viola), sister Cecilia (Emilio) Sguigna, brothers Edo (Nina), Anthony and Lino Sr. Lino will lovingly be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lino, along with his wife Beverly, established NUSCA ELECTRIC LTD in 1958. With son Patrick, ACSUN Mobile Signs, and Pat/Lin Laundromat. Lino mentored many young men in the electrical trade business. He was a past president of the Hamilton District Electrical Contractors Association and a member of the Electrical Contractors Association of Hamilton. Lino was also a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #105. He was an active member with the Order of The Sons of Italy and involved as a loyal member/usher at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Lino enjoyed many years of fishing and cooking with his lifelong friends and cousins. The love and support shown to us throughout this difficult time has been a blessing. A very special thank you to Dr. Ross Allega for his dedication and compassionate care. Visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers at 4:30.
