WASELYNCHUK, Paul - At the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Saturday October 23, 2004, after a long and courageous battle. Paul William Waselynchuk, beloved husband of Joyce (Robbins) Waselynchuk. Loved father of Robin and her husband Erv Overmeyer, St. Catharines, Darryl Waselynchuk, Niagara Falls, and the late Colleen Waselynchuk. Paul will be missed by his grandchildren Tyler and Dana. Dear brother of Florence (Edward), Reid, Ancaster, Gloria (Bill) Semeschuk, Saskatchewan, Harold (Heddy) Waselynchuk, Hamilton, and the late Peter and Mike Waselynchuk. PLANT, Ethel L. (Corbin) Ethel's final curtain call was on Oct. 23, 2004, at the age of 101. Born in 1903, London, Ontario. She married Elton M. Plant in 1922, who died December 31, 1991. Mother of W.E.C. (Al) Plant and wife Julie of Hawaii. Grandmother of Kelly Ross, Scott Plant, Christopher Plant, and Great Grandmother of Brianna, Kaitlyn and Meighan Ross, and loving friend to many. In her early years she was in show business as a Vaudeville performer and a singer on the radio (WMBC in Detroit, CKLW in Windsor). She was a founding member and performer with the First Windsor Theatre Guild (1925-34). In the 1960's she was Vice-President of Federal Property Protection Co. Ltd. One of Ethel's favorite memories was that of her 100th Birthday celebration that was held in March of 2003 where she enjoyed reminiscing with friends and family. Her wishes were that you remember her as she was on that special day in her life. She was honored with a Life Membership in the Women's Auxiliary of University of Windsor, Home & School Association, and the Downtown Windsor Lioness Club, of which she was a charter member and officer. She also served the Windsor-Essex Cancer Society and as Vice-President of Women's Section for one term; choir member and Sunday school teacher at Lincoln Rd. United Church where Memorial Services will be held for her Saturday, October 30th, 2004, at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Dawn Wheeler presiding. Private family interment service to be held at Windsor Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Morris-Sutton Funeral Home. HILL, Hannah, February 12, 1927 - October 23, 2004 - Surrounded by her loving family at the St. Catharines General Hospital at 77 years of age. Left with wonderful and numerous memories are her children Sharon Severy, Virginia Heinrichs, Linda (Sand y) Edmondson, Cindy Hill and Randy Hill. Will be greatly missed by her 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson, her sisters Hilda Zalot, Kay Voth and brother John Fast, numerous nieces and nephews. Hannah is predeceased by her best friend of 35 years George Severy (1990), her beloved son Frank and his wife Leah (1997), her mother and father Margaret and Peter Fast, her sisters Elma Hipkins and Rosie Fast. Hannah was employed at the St. Catharines General Hospital for 27 years and was an avid bingo player. She was known by all her childrens friends as "Ma". Friends will be received at the PATRICK J. Merel Duke (1948-2004) l'Acadie Nouvelle - 25 octobre 2004 SAINT-SAUVEUR - À l’Hôpital régional Chaleur de Bathurst, le samedi 23 octobre 2004, à l’âge de 56 ans, est décédé Merel Duke, domicilié à Bathurst, mais autrefois de Saint-Sauveur. Il était l’ex-époux de Marie-Thérèse Saulnier. Né le 6 septembre 1948, il était fils de feu Hubert Duke et de feu Alice Basque. Il laisse dans le deuil une fille, Lyne de Moncton; un fils, Frederic de Moncton; deux soeurs: Mariette (Don Clavet) de Moncton et Doris (Edgar Robichaud) de Bathurst; quatre frères: Norbert (Aline Duclos) de Boisbriand, Qc, Denis (Jacqueline Comeau) de Tracadie-Sheila, Claude (Nicole Blanchard) de Caraquet et Hermel (Patricia Mourant) de Tétagouche Sud, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins et cousines. M. Duke était chaudronnier «boilermaker» de profession et était membre de l’union local 73. MICHALUK, John - Passed away peacefully at the Plummer Memorial Hospital on Sunday October 24th, 2004 at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of Joyce for 53 years. Loving father of Brenda-Jayne Campbell (Gary Mancuso). Special Papa of his beloved Caitlin Campbell. Special father to Danny Campbell. Cherished son of the late Alexandria and Eli Michaluk. Dear brother of Helen Michaluk (Peter Hulumchuck), late Bill Michaluk (Stella), late Olga L'Heureux (late Vic), late Ann McClatchey (late John), late Peter Mitchell (late Mary), late Mary Huminicki (late Walter). John will be missed by many nieces and nephews. He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was president of the Royal Canadian Naval Association for many years and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. John was a dear friend of Leonard Hackett (late Marg), also Ann and Laurie Nenonen who helped so much in our hours of need. He leaves behind his beloved dog Coco and cat Smokey. At John's request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. In keeping with John's fondness of animals, memorial contributions can be made to the Sault Ste. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil une fille, Sylvie (Arsène Cormier) de Caraquet; un fils, Claude (Diana Michon) de Pokesudie; six petits-enfants: Luc, Michel, Marc, Eric, Marie-Claude et Danny; une soeur, Thérèse (feu Aurèle Michon) de Bas-Caraquet; deux frères: Raoul (Yvonne Plourde) et Aurèle (Jeanne Plourde), tous deux de Pokesudie; trois belles-soeurs: Mériza (feu Lucien Cormier) de Bas-Caraquet, Estelle (feu Jean-Paul Cormier) de Pokesudie et Amabélis (feu Alban Cormier) de Fredericton, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Une fille, Claudette; une soeur, Anne, ainsi que trois frères: Lucien, Jean-Paul et Alban, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée au salon de l’église de Bas-Caraquet. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Paul de Bas-Caraquet, le lundi 25 octobre, à 11h. MORAY, Taimi Velma (nee Maki) In loving memory of Taimi Velma Moray (nee Maki) former Sudbury resident, lately of Rockwood Terrace, Durham Ontario, born in Espanola, Ontario September 9, 1916, born to eternal life on Sunday, October 24, 2004. Taimi was the daughter of pioneers in the lumber industry in Northern Ontario, Oscar and Julia Maki. She was predeceased by her husband Robert T. Moray, her parents, brothers Oscar and Orville. She is survived by her daughters Norma (Richard) Held, Alice (John) Moerchen both of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; and Carla Moray of Durham, Ontario. Grandchildren Susan Held, Kelly Peterik, Wisconsin; Michael Moerchen, Atlanta, GA. Robert Held, Laura Held, Patrick (Julie) Moerchen, Wisconsin; Sharla Wood, Santa Barbara, CA; Melony Wood, Whistler, BC, and Taimi Leigh Wood, Toronto, Ont.. GALLOP, GORDON 'DARYL' - The death of Gordon 'Daryl' Gallop, husband of Phyllis (Cushing) Gallop, occurred on October 23, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late J. Harold and Lillie (Fisher) Gallop. He was an electrician by trade retiring from Saint John Ship Building Ltd. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed "old" country music and was an avid record collector. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Reginald Wilson and his wife Gail of Saint John; his daughters Barbara Beaudry of Altona, Manitoba, Charlotte Bausman of Saint John, Lisa and her husband Kevin McKenzie of Saint John; his brothers Robert and his wife Joan, Roy and his wife Ann, all of Saint John; his grandchildren David, Carol, Ronald, Chandra, Ken and Lee, Donald, Christina; his great grandchild Malachi; and several nieces and nephews. Kirk Alexander Nisbet April 27, 1956 - October 20, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre Mr. Kirk Nisbet, age 48 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, October 20th, 2004 with his family by his side. Kirk was born to the late Hugh and Jean Nisbet on April 27th, 1956 in Thunder Bay where he met and married his wife and best friend Judy in 1980. Shortly thereafter, Kirk and Judy had their one and only daughter Valerie May, Kirk’s little angel who he loved and was so proud of in October 1981. Kirk was a devoted long time employee of A&P for over 30 years. Kirk’s main interests were his family and home, woodworking, cribbage, cooking, his satellite dish, watching a good movie, going to the casino and his cat Charlie (his buddy). He was a very generous and caring man who will be missed very much by everyone that knew him. Kirk is survived by his wife Judy of 24 years, daughter Valerie, brothers and sister in laws Debbie and Perry Morgan, Art and Karen Lofts, Cindy Lofts, aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces and nephews all of Thunder Bay. Marie S. Nowlan MIRAMICHI, NB - Marie S. Nowlan passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 23, 2004 with her loving family at her side, after a sudden illness at the age of 85. Born in Chatham, NB, on December 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Murdock) Phelan, she was the wife of the late Hayward L. Nowlan. She is survived by three sons, Louis (Margie) of Summerside, PEI, Donnie (Nancy) of Miramichi, Tommy (Mary Ellen) of Frederiction; two daughters, Dorothy (Ricky) Henry of Miramichi, Mary (Allen) Dickson of Napan; one brother, Byron (Theresa) Phelan of St. John; 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased also by her precious daughter Anne Marie McLean (2000) and David and Eleanor; three brothers, Rev. George Phelan CSB, Patrick Phelan and James Phelan; sister, Dorothy Phelan. She was a gentle and quiet lady who loved her family dearly and enjoyed sitting in her warm back porch talking to her family and reading the papers. She will be greatly missed by all. She worked for Lounsbury Company in Sackville, N.B. for many years retiring from the Interprovincial School for the Deaf in Amherst. Marjorie had a passion for music especially playing the piano. She was the organist at the New Annan Baptist Church for several years. Marjorie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
