GUINDON, Marcel 1936-2004 Subitement à St-Eustache, le 9 octobre 2004, à l'âge de 68 ans, est décédé Marel Guindon, célibataire, fils de feu François Guindon et de feu Gertrude Guindon. Il laisse dans le deuil un frère Marc (Rachel), neveux et nièces et de nombreux amis. M. Marcel Guindon fut à l'emploi de M. Jean-Guy Mathers, du Groupe Mathers, depuis plus de trente ans. Il sera exposé au: COMPLEXE FUNÉRAIRE GOYER LTÉE 147 BOUL. SAUVÉ ST-EUSTACHE.Les funérailles auront lieu le jeudi 14 octobre, à 11 heures, en l'église mère de St-Eustache et par la suite inhumation au cimetière de St-Eustache. Heures des visites: mercredi de 19 à 22 heures, jeu-di ouvert à compter de 9 h 30. Marcel Guindon avait une intelligence vive et le sens de l'humour. Il était disponible pour le travail, ses amis et pour les pauvres qu'il aidait avec discrétion. C'était un croyant ardent. Il aimait fréquenter l'église et surtout l'oratoire St-Joseph. Tout le monde saluait M. Marcel Guindon.

TOURBIN, Lydia 1913 ~ 2004, Passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at Third Crossing Manor Personal Care Home in Gladstone, Manitoba, at the age of 91 years. Lydia was predeceased by her loving husband Arthur in 1981, her sisters Violet and Susan and her best friend Mildred Walton. Lydia is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughters Janet (Neil) Goertzen and Yvonne (Sig) Okraszewski and grandchildren Leanne (Bart) Hudson, Rob Ozerkevich, Nicole Okraszewski and Matthew Ro ss Okraszewski. She is also fondly remembered by Neil's family Lenora and Howard Buffi (Trad, Taryn, and Trent) and Susann and Martin Derksen (Ryan, Jordan, Darren and Braedon). Lydia was born in 1913 in St. Catharines, Ontario and resided there unti l January 1996. She moved to Gladstone, Manitoba in 1996 and lived with her daughter Janet and son-in-law Neil until June of 2000 when she moved to Third Crossing Manor Personal Care Home. Lydia was a mother who always gave one hundred percent to her family. Lydia was a very sensitive, loving and caring person. Lydia faced the many illnesses and challenges life presented with strength, courage, determination and humour. Family gatherings and spending time with her family and friends were very de ar to her. Lydia was devoted to her husband Arthur, her daughters and their families. A special thank you to Dr. Berman Wong and all the staff at Third Crossing Manor and Seven Regions Health Centre for the many years of loving care they provided to Mom. Predeceased by her husband Cecil Ferris in 1983, her son William Ferris in 2000, her father Walter Graham in 1983 and by her brothers Gary Graham in 1996 and Gerald Graham in 2000. CHAPMAN, RAE E. - With his loving family around him, Rae Edgar Chapman of Wasson Court, husband of Kathleen (McLeod) Chapman, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2004, ten days prior to his 93rd birthday, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Amherst, NS, he was the son of the late Harold and Jennie (Bickerton) Chapman. Rae was employed by H.S. Heinz Co. for 34 years as district manager for New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island until his retirement in 1971. He was a faithful member of Victoria St., now Main St. Baptist Church and for 30 years a winter visitor at South Peninsula Baptist Church in Daytona Shores, Florida. Rae was one of the longest serving members of the United Commercial Travellers of Canada, having been a member for 68 years. Besides his wife Kaye, he is survived by one son, Wayne R. (Carol) Chapman Q.C. of Rothesay, NB; one daughter, Carol Ann Einarson of Ottawa; two grandsons, James and John Einarson of Ottawa; a granddaughter Chere (Gordon) Cooper of Vietnam; great grandson William Cooper of Vietnam; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by grandson Christopher Chapman, six brothers, one sister and son-in-law Richard Einarson. He was retired and he had worked as a Woodsman and Farmer. He was a member of St. John's United Church, West Branch. Survived by wife, Ruby; four daughters, Wanda Hatfield, Janice Hud (Gerald), Diane Pollard (Bill), Connie Saranchuck; three sons, John (Kim), Kevin (Jeannie), Darrin (Mary); two sisters, Betty Spencer and Jean Beers; one brother, Horace Cail; 16 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six sisters, infant Ruby, Annie, Dorothy, Alverna, Maggie and Laura; three brothers, Arnold, Melvin and Bob. Luigi Capanna - January 13, 1917 - June 15, 2004 - 87, Lower Sackville, passed away June 15, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Casoli di Atri, Italy, January 13, 1917, he was a son of the late Pio and Anna Domenica (Ferretti) Capanna. He came to Canada in 1954 to start a new life for himself and his family. Before his retirement, he worked as a barber in Halifax and Lower Sackville until the age of 81. Luigi enjoyed entertaining his many friends at his house and he was well-known for his generosity and his love of gardening, cooking and wine making. Luigi will always be remembered and deeply missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Giuseppina (Ianetti); son, Pio; daughters, Dina (Mrs. Roberto Miorin), Anna (Battilana); grandchildren, Gabriella (Jim), Nadia (Jorge), Luciana (James), Tania, Marcello (Tracy), Luciano (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Enrico, Ofelia, Jakob, and Dante. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters in Italy. He was predeceased by his son, Domenico in infancy; two brothers. Son of the late Norman Edwards and Florence Kennedy. Predeceased by his daughter, Susan, in 1980. Davida M. Wilson - of 1100 Manawagonish Rd., West Saint John, NB, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Sunday May 9th, 2004. She is the daughter of the late Melbourne F. & B. Hazel (Hamm) Wasson and wife of the late George M. Wilson Jr. of Lorneville, since 1937. Davida lived in Lorneville all her married life. She is the last of her immediate family. She moved to West Saint John in 1982, after her husband’s death. She was a life member of the U.CW., life member of the Women’s Institute, member of Spruce Lake Women’s Institute, St. Marks United Church, the Fellowship Group and Afternoon Unit of the UCW, member of Diamond Seniors, the Hillcrest Villagers, Charter Member of Lorneville 50 & Over Club, former member of the Lorneville United Church. When she was able she enjoyed travelling, knitting, crocheting, poetry and entertaining her many friends at home. Davida is survived by her daughter Carole A. Paul Brust - June 26, 1920 - June 27, 2004 - On the cusp of 10 PM, June 27th, 2004, three days after the joy of his 53rd Anniversary and a day after his 84th birthday, Paul was mercifully called home whilst surrounded by family. Paul is survived, as he so dearly desired, by the love of his life, wife Kathie; one son, Arno; three in-laws, Adeline, Henry, and Gustav; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbours, and countless friends. Mrs. Ina May Williams (née Schluter) - December 03, 1916 - May 21, 2004 - Ina passed away peacefully Friday morning May 21, 2004 at the Cowichan District Hospital. She is predeceased by her husband Douglas Williams. She is survived by her sister Murial Oland, daughters; Barbara Morgan, Sharon Williams and Cora Lynne Williams; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Ina and Doug met and courted in Langley and married October 17, 1936. As a young person, Ina involved herself in Glee Club musicals, which she thoroughly enjoyed, always playing the lady with pomp and style. Around a piano you would find Ina leading the sing-a-long with Doug applauding from the sidelines. In the middle part of her life, she concentrated on raising her daughters; her love of baking and her talent for sewing and handwork. Later life brought lots of books for reading and a passion for hockey and all things related to the “Vancouver Canucks”. Everyone who knew Ina will remember how much she missed Doug. We all take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with him and at peace. A Graveside service was held at Cedar Memorial Gardens, Cedar, BC on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at 2:00 pm. GRAHAM, ROYDEN P. - The death of Royden P. Graham, 90, of Kingston, husband of the late Rita (Clark) (Walton) Graham occurred October 9, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born at South Bay, son of the late Ainsworth and Mae (Bosence) Graham. He was a Longshoreman for several years and then was a Ferry Operator at Gondola Point for ten years before retirement. Royden will be sadly missed by the residents at Trinity Terrace, Kingston, where he enjoyed gardening. He is survived by one daughter Katherine Chase (Gerry) of Erb's Cove; one son Percy Graham of Perry Point; one step-daughter Jean Folkins (Ron) of Dartmouth; one step-son Bill Walton of Grand Bay; two grandchildren Joel and Chelsea Chase; several nieces and nephews. GODWIN, GLENDON RONALD - The death of Glendon "Glen" Godwin of Saint John, NB, occurred on Friday, October 8, 2004 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John, following a lengthy illness. Glen will be sadly missed by his wife of more than 50 years, Jane (Blacklock). Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Francis and Alma (Campbell) Godwin. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces during World War II. Glen worked for many years as a salesperson for Canada Life, Diversey and Guilfords. Always making people laugh, Glen also loved the outdoors, camping and fishing with his family. He was a long serving member and Past Worshipful Master of the St. Martins Masonic Lodge No.30 and an active member of St. James Church, Lakewood. FARREN, JAMES PATRICK - The death of James Patrick Farren of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Audrey (Sherwood) Farren, occurred on Friday, October 8, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (McCafferty) Farren. James had served from 1939-1945 in World War II with the Air Force and was overseas with 6th Group, Heavy Bomber Command, England; following his discharge he worked as a Port Checker and was an honorary member of the Longshoremen 273 and was active in the Union. Survived by one son, James Patrick Farren Jr. (Kim) of Saint John; one daughter, Margaret Farren (Larry) of Saint John; three grandchildren, Abby Jane Mitchell of South Carolina, Nathan James Farren and Alesha Farren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother, Edward Farren and two sisters, Margaret Farren and Elizabeth Chase. James enjoyed his dog and leaves behind his faithful companion, a black Labrador Retriever, Aquilla. Born in Saint George, NB, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Grace (Doyle) Jackson. Fran resided for the greater part of her life in Saint John, where she was a member of St. Paul's (Valley) Anglican Church, a member of the A.C.W., former member of the I.O.D.E. and a member of the Saint John Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Survived by two brothers, Douglas B. (Robina "Deane") Jackson of Robbinston, Maine and Ronald H. ANDERSON, VIVIENNE ELISABETH (HOOKER) The passing of Vivienne Elisabeth (Hooker) Anderson, wife of Richard Anderson of Fredericton, occurred on Saturday, October 9, 2004, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Chichester, England, she was a daughter of Bertram and Dorothy (Clarke) Hooker. Vivienne worked as a Weaver, Freelance Writer and Music and Dance Reviewer with the Daily Gleaner for 16 years. She was active with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Fredericton and was a member of the Stepping Stone Centre. Vivienne had a great interest in music and bird watching. She is survived by her husband Richard; one brother Antony Hooker (Audrey) of Australia; one niece, Debbie and three great nephews, all of Australia; and by marriage four nephews, six nieces, one great nephew and two great nieces. There will be no visitation by request. A Celebration of her life will take place at a date to be announced. Burial will take place at a later date in Clover Dale, B.C., at Christ the Redeemer's Church Cemetery. R. Jean Waddy 1922 - 2004 The death of R. Jean (Colpitts) Waddy, wife of Percy B. Waddy, occurred on October 8, 2004 after a long illness. Jean was the daughter of the late Fred and Pearl (Taylor) Colpitts. She was born at her grandmother's home in Colpitts Settlement, NB, on June 7, 1922, and lived in that house on the original Colpitts grant for most of her 82 years. She received her early education at the one-room school in Colpitts and attended Mount Allison University. Jean was an astute businesswoman, a devoted wife, and a proud mother and grandmother. She had an incredibly strong connection to the Colpitts community and Albert County. Her father involved her from an early age in his fox business and she often traveled with him to Montreal to fox shows and sales. When her Uncle Jim died in 1941, her father moved the family to Calgary for 2 years to settle his estate. While in Calgary, she met Percy. They married after he returned from serving overseas as an RCAF Squadron Leader in Ceylon. Percy was the love of her life, her best friend and business partner. He showed her the world. In 1959, she and her husband took over the family farm and developed the Little River Holstein Herd. She was widely respected throughout the holstein community in eastern North America. Jean was very interested in genealogy and in 1983 was instrumental in organizing the 200th anniversary celebration of the arrival of the first Colpitts family to North America. The event attracted hundreds of family members from across Canada and the United States. Jean was involved in many community organizations. She was a Life Member of the Colpitts United Church Women and in 1998 was honored for 50 years of volunteering with the CNIB. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Colpitts United Church; the Albert County Food Bank; the Albert County Historical Society; the Salisbury School Board; and numerous other organizations. Jean is survived by her husband, Percy Waddy; four children, Lane, Fred, Susan and Patrick; two daughters-inlaw, Cécile and Ruth-Ann; and nine grandchildren, Lisa, David, Christina, Michael, Marc-André, Julien, Christopher, Michelle and Julia. She is also survived by her uncles, Fred Taylor (Monteagle) and Claude Taylor (Montreal); and numerous Colpitts and Taylor cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Lu Colpitts. Her family thanks the caregivers, nurses, and doctors who looked after Jean during the past 3 years. In accordance with her wishes, Jean has been cremated and will be interred in the Waddy plot at the Colpitts Cemetery. Friends and her large extended family are invited to share memories of Jean at the family home in Colpitts Settlement from 6 to 9 pm on Saturday, October 16, 2004 (5005 Rte 895, Colpitts Settlement). Her memorial service will be held at the Colpitts United Church at 3 pm on Sunday, October 17, 2004. A reception will follow at the church. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the CNIB, the Colpitts United Church or any charity of the donor's choice. The Albert County Funeral Home (734-2780) in Hopewell Cape is in charge of arrangements.

CHANTIGNY, Armand (1941-2004) - Passed away peacefully, after a short battle with cancer, at the West Nipissing General Hospital, in Sturgeon Falls, on Friday, October 8, 2004, at the age of 63. Dearly beloved husband of Pauline Chantigny (nee Tessier), and cherished father of Normand and Ginette (Kevin Schryer) of River Valley. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandson Brendan.
