Irene "Pat" Skeoch - Born in Grenfell, Saskatchewan, Pat passed away at Beacon Hill Lodge on Tuesday, May 25, 2004. She was predeceased by her son Robert in 1985; and husband Gerry in 1994. Pat was an avid bridge player and golfer, both which she enjoyed doing often at St. Charles Country Club. HOLMAN, William John, Peacefully at his home, October 6, 2004 at 68 years of age. Beloved husband of 46 years and best friend of Gail. Loving father of Jill (Gianni) Cirilli, Brenda (Joel) Chatterton and Don (Lisa) Holman; loving Poppa to Brianne, N icole and Taylor. Bill grew up in Port Dalhousie and is predeceased by his parents Emanuel (Gus) Holman and Evelyn Marie Holman. He is survived by his sister Beverly Shurgold, his father-in-law Ed Cook and brother-in-law Kevin Cook. Bill will be grea tly missed and fondly remembered by many relatives and friends. Bill retired from the City of St. Catharines in May 2001 as Purchasing Agent. He was very active at St. George's Church as Chairman of the Outreach committee and past People's Warden. He was a member of the Ontario Public Buyer's Association and a supporter of Bethlehem Place. He so loved his cottage on Bass Bay always had a smile on his face and a hearty laugh that everyone knew. Christine H. Wach (née Faber) - June 24, 1943 - May 29, 2004 - 60 yrs, Lake Echo, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, May 29, 2004. Born in Germany, she was a daughter of the late Heinrich and Anna (Kloos) Faber. She was a loving mother and a devoted wife who enjoyed life to the fullest. In all the world, there couldn't be a person any more loving. Christine always sacrificed herself to others needs, and this was evident through her enjoyment of cooking, baking and entertaining. She lived for her family and the fellowship of her many friends. She enjoyed nature, and gardening with her dog Shadow. She worked as a waitress for many years, and later was employed by Nightingales as a personal care worker. She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Wach, Lake Echo; sons, Duane Wach, Grande Prairie, Alta.; Darryl (Inge) Wach, Lake Echo; Danny (Jenna) Wach, Grande Prairie; daughter, Jennifer (Josh) Macumber, Edmonton, Alta.; brothers, Henry Faber, Lake Echo; Gunther (Linda) Faber, Lake Echo; sister, Theresa (Don) Williams, Ontario; honorary grandchildren, Faith and Julie; many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann Walls (née Browning) - May 14, 1947 - May 21, 2004 - Peacefully at home on May 21, 2004 at 57 years of age. Mary Ann was the youngest of fifteen children born to James and Lily Browning. She leaves to mourn devoted children, Geoffrey Walls and wife Connie, Samuel Walls and Jennifer Walls. Loving friend Dr. Bryan Walls. Sadly missed by grandchildren Mirandus, Jordan and Justus. Also special friend to Mrs. Joyce Forte. Born in Hammonds Plains, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Swindells) Smith. She attended Baptist Church when she was able and she spent her days looking after her family. Surviving are her daughters, Joan Logan, Middle Sackville; Margaret Rose (James) Grandy, Hammonds Plains; son, Ralph (Janet) Romans, Carleton Place, Ont.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren. Annie was predeceased by her husband, Orman; sister, Floris Manuel. Bronik "Brownie" Ronchka October 06, 1913 - May 17, 2004 - peacefully, on May 17, 2004 at the WRHC -Western Campus. Beloved husband of the late Olga (nee Zolotcov) (2001) and will be sadly missed by his daughter Sandy, son-in-law Franck O'Sullivan, of Pickering and grandson Adam. Brownie also leaves his brother Bill, of Windsor. Brownie was a retiree of the G.M. Transmission Plant with over 40 years of loyal service and was a member of the C.A.W. Local 1973. A private family service was held on May 19, 2004 at the Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel (Tecumseh) (735-2830). An interment followed at Victoria Memorial Gardens. Marija Stampf - passed away peacefully in her sleep with her daughter holding her hand on Friday, May 21, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Marija was predeceased by her husband Duro and her sisters Juliska, Katica and Ana. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory her daughter, Ana (Drago) Bandel; granddaughter, Gordana (Dave) Kinsley, great-grandsons, Chris and Jonathan; granddaughter, Renata Bandel (Jason Komorofsky), great-grandsons, Dylan and Logan; granddaughter, Nancy Bandel (Bill Watchman), great-grandson, Alexander. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Wincezeffi as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Marija loved spending time with her family. She showered her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with love and praise, treats and gifts. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching and knitting. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of St. Boniface for the special care given to Marija during her stay there. Flowers are gratefully declined. Mrs. Edith Euphania Rankine (née Muise) - October 19, 1926 - May 22, 2004 - 77, Mount Uniacke, succumbed to a lengthy illness on Saturday, May 22, 2004, at home with her family present. Born October 19, 1926, in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Marie Genevieve (Doucette) Muise. Edith, as she was known to some, and Phanie, as she was known by family, was the widow of the late James Ronald Rankine. She is survived by her children, Sheila (Tom Homatidis), Robert (Alice Rankine) and Stephen (Jennifer Zambrano). Edith will be remembered as an avid bingo fan, a doer of "fancy work", and for having a wonderful sense of humour. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, where visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 25. Mass of Christian Burial in honour of her life will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, in Saint Francis of Assissi Roman Catholic Church, Mount Uniacke. Private family interment will be held in Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth, alongside her parents. The family respectfully requests that there be family flowers only and anyone wishing to make a donation in Edith's memory do so to a charity of their choice. Louis Oscar Tucker - October 06, 1917 - May 25, 2004 - Louis Tucker was born on October 6, 1917 in Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba. He passed away May 25, 2004 at 86 years of age. His early education was in Ste. Rose and Valpoiy. He also took an agricultural course at the St. Norbert Monastery. Louis married Gertrude (nee Desroches) on October 5, 1944 and together they raised two children on a mixed grain and livestock farm north of Ste. Rose. Louis served as councellor for 27 years in the rural municipality of Ste. Rose. In 1979 Louis and Gertie retired from farming and left Ste. Rose to take up residence on the 'water' in Petersfield. They enjoyed 20 years then moved to the Knights of Columbus Manor in Selkirk. Louis was predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Stanley and by 3 sisters Sylvia Balcaen, Dora Lussier and Gertrude Lambert. Louis is survived by his wife of 59 years Gertrude (Desrochers); two children Mark (Patsy) of Florida and Marie (Richard) of Winnipeg as well as by grandchildren Dale, Kolan, Lesley and Mary-Jean. He also leaves to mourn his brother Henry of Winnipeg; sisters Noellie Monteyne (Joe) and Edna Poulin both of Vernon, B.C. as well as many other relatives and friends. Louis believed in the importance of family, the church, hard work and fair play and was an eternal optimist. He will be sadly missed by many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 29, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Civita Maria Scinicariello (née Buonomo) - Peacefully, after a brief illness on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at St. Boniface Hospital Civita passed away at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her children, Cosmo Scinicariello (Pina) of Kelowna, British Columbia, and Rita Rampone (Tony), grandchildren, Raphaela Lecomte (Gerald), Erasmo D’Errico (Leah), Laura D’Errico, Maurizio Rampone, Daniela Curcio (John), Maria Macdonnell (Andrew), Gianna Oram (Derek), Mina Cerminara (Carlo), great - grandchildren, Gina Lecomte, Gino and Desiree D’Errico, Christopher, Nicholas, Michael, and Jacob Macdonnell, Sofia, Isabella, and Alyssa Oram, Julianna and Matteo Cerminara, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Italy. Civita was predeceased by her husband Erasmo, and her daughter Giuseppina D’Errico, as well as her brothers and sisters. Civita was born August 21, 1914 and lived in Gaeta, Italy where she married Erasmo and started a family. She was a very strong woman who lived through much in her lifetime. She lived and survived through World War II with a young family to care for on her own. A few years after the war, they decided to immigrate to Canada to begin a new life for themselves and their family. Civita worked for many years in the garment industry, making many friends. Her life revolved around her family and friends. Prayers will be said Tuesday, June 1, 2004 in Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 10:30 a.m., also in the church, with Father Vincent De Paul Tchaoule presiding. Sylvia Stadey (née Jensen) - June 28, 1934 - May 27, 2004 - aged 69 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, May 27, 2004 at St. Joseph's Hospice with her family at her side. Born in Scoble Township, the daughter of Marie and Ivar Jensen. Sylvia received her education in Scoble Township as well. Prior to her marriage, she was employed with Brown's in English River and later at Henderson's Cab Company in Port Arthur as a dispatcher. She married Thomas Stadey on January 21, 1956 in Port Arthur. Sylvia's main interests were her family, friends and grandchildren. Survived by husband Thomas, at home, sons Grant (Debbie) and Sean (Linda) and daughters Lynne (Rick) Yawney and Cheryl (Dan) Calvert. Also survived by grandchildren Kristina, David, Danny, Tommy and Eric, sister Kamma (Kay) (George) Whitefield, brother-in-law Morris Greshuk and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, sister Flora Greshuk and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wesley and Isobel Stadey. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2004 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 S. Syndicate Avenue. Florence Mary Ann Stemper (Button) - passed away at the Regina Pasqua Hospital after a brief illness with cancer on May 27, 2004. Florence was predeceased by her wonderful, loving husband, Henry; her father, Harold; and sister, Margaret Rose. Florence is survived by her daughter, Cathy; son-in-law, Steve; mother, Martha; brothers, Fred (Pat), Gerald (Grace), and David (Myrna); and sister, Edith (Tom). Florence was especially proud of her grandson, Sean whom she loved dearly. Florence graduated from the Grey Nuns Hospital and nursed for forty years, first in the emergency department then at Parkside Nursing Home. She will be remembered as a dedicated nurse who was respected by all who worked with her. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Norm Marcotte celebrating. BISHOP, CAMERON - Of Perth-Andover passed away at DECH on October 6, 2004 following a brief illness. Born in Bath, NB on August 21, 1936, he was the son of the late Samuel and Charlotte (Cameron) Bishop. He leaves behind his wife Dawn Bishop (Baird); his children Heather Bishop of Perth- Andover, Dirk (Teena) Bishop of Perth- Andover, Eric (Sharron) Bishop; sisters Marie Browning of Presque Isle, Beatrice (Bill) Terlecky of Toronto, Carolyn (Bert) King of Halifax; grandchildren Megan, Scott, Stephanie, and Gefen. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Donald and Archie Bishop. Cameron worked as a farmer and a school bus driver. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 36 of Perth-Andover and an Elder of St. James United Church of Perth- Andover. Music was an important part of Cameron's life. He spent countless hours playing the fiddle or the banjo with friends and family. He was also an avid snowmobiler and an ATV enthusiast, not to mention a diehard fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. CALDWELL, RONALD HARVEY Ron Caldwell, (age 56) of Hanwell, NB, formerly of Moores Mills, NB, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital surrounded by his family. Ron was born in St. Stephen on November 30, 1947. He is the son of Marjorie Caldwell and the late Philip Caldwell. Ron is survived by his wife Valerie and son Adam, his mother Marjorie Caldwell, brothers Kent (Diane), Dale (Carol-Ann), Alan (Dianne), Roy (Rita) and sister Melanie (Langdon) and a number of aunts, nieces and nephews. Ron worked as a journalist with the CBC and BBC for a number of years in various parts of the country and world. Upon his return to the Maritimes he worked for the Province of New Brunswick and later enjoyed freelancing at home. Baseball was a love of his life. He started playing himself at an early age and later enjoyed coaching little league. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. His love for his family was the most important thing in his life. However, his life and what it meant went far beyond his work and his baseball and he touched many people. He was many things to many people and he will be sadly missed. Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home, St. Stephen. Everett Arthur Steeves - April 13, 1931 - May 22, 2004 - passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on May 22, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Mayme Steeves-Woodman and step-father Harold Woodman and also loving husband to Dorothy (Rutherford) Steeves, his beloved wife of nearly 50 years. Everett worked for Transport Canada in the Construction Division for 34 years. He was a member of the congregation, part of the Board of Stewards & Trustees and Past Treasurer, of the Lakeburn United Church. He also was a Leader with The Boy Scouts for a number of years. Everett’s passion was for his family and he had two great loves; his grandchildren and his horses. What started with two ponies and a shed grew to a multitude and a barn. Everett loved showing his horses at various County Fairs and could often be found in the woods cutting and hauling wood with his sons and his team. Always one to give freely of his time, he brought his ponies to parties and special community events for lots of children to enjoy. Memories of Everett will be treasured and he will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. Besides his wife “Dot”, he is survived by his sons Kevin (Diane), Dieppe, NB, William “Billy” (Catherine Landry-Steeves), Calhoun, NB and Roger (Sandra), Greater Lakeburn, NB., his only daughter Cathy Steeves, Saint John, NB., his sister Marguerite Underwood, Kentville, NS., his uncle Lionel (Connie) Steeves, Catamount Road, NB., his grandchildren Brian, Mark, Christine, Jacob, David, Brett, Kylin and Shelly, as well as, several cousins, nieces and nephews. MAHONEY, Loretta. Died peacefully in Ottawa on October 6, 2004, surrounded by family members. Predeceased by her husband; Bill MacDonald in 2003. Daughter of Cecile Alary and Dudley Mahoney of Montreal. Loretta is survived by brothers, Raymond (Joyce) of Mount Hope, Michael (Carolyn) of Oakville, Richard (Connie) of Kelowna and special cousin, Ralph Crabbe (Mary) of Golden, B.C. Her memory will be cherished by nieces and nephews Jillian Reid Maierhofer (Albert), Oakville; Tom (Stephanie), Toronto; Marisol Brisbin (Trevor), Oakville; Derek and Marlo of Kelowna, B.C.; great-nephew, Michael, great-nieces Jessica and Lucy, all of Oakville. Loretta is also the step-mother and dear friend of Anne Sissom and her children, John and Suzanne of Madison, Wisconsin. Loretta's meaningful life was characterized by her generosity and caring for others. Her many loyal friends provided loving support that allowed her to remain active and independent throughout her 17 year struggle with cancer. The family expresses sincere gratitude to this group of treasured friends. Loretta's nieces and nephews were particularly blessed because of her generous spirit. Loretta was a pioneer in furthering the cause of women, being the first female graduate of Loyola College in Montreal, graduating with a B.Sc (Certificate in Chemical Engineering) and served as Salutatorian for her graduating class. She attained an MBA at Concordia University, which served her well in her professional career with Petro Can and as a Director for Energy, Mines and Resources with the Canadian Government. She created a scholarship in her name at Concordia in support of female students studying Science and Engineering. Loretta's diverse interests included Board Directorships with the Ottawa Community Care Access Centre, the Cumis Credit Union and the Glebe Centre. Her travelling, reading, photography, sewing and athletic pursuits provided balance to her rich and full life. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 8, 2004, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa. A celebration of Loretta's Life will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2004, at 12 noon at the McGarry Chapel. Robert Alfred Schwarz - passed away peacefully on May 17, 2004, in Lynn Lake, Manitoba. His wife Gertrude Elise (Lisa) predeceases him. He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Karen Pampallis (John), Johannesburg, South Africa, Volker (Grace), Peter (Barb), Richard all of Winnipeg; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
