Il était le beau-frère de: feu Thomas-Léon Simard (Simone Simard), feu Yvonne (feu Simon Simard), feu Evelyna (feu Lionel Gauthier), feu Lucienne (feu Claude Bordeleau), Carmen (feu Arthur Bergeron), feu Lauriette (feu Fernand Coulombe), Madeleine (feu Réal Poitras), feu Gemma (John Walsh) et Françoise. M. Thibeault laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs neveux et nièces, parents et ami(e)s. LEWIS, BEATRICE C. - The death of Beatrice C. Lewis, wife of the late Clyde Lewis, occurred on October 3, 2004, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Gardiner's Creek she was the daughter of the late John R. and Alice M. (Carson) Wallace. She was a graduate of the Wilfred Academy of beauty in New York and was the proprietor of Milady's Beauty Salon in Saint John for many years. She was a charter member of the Saint John Hairdressers Association, an Elder of Black River United Church, a member of the St. Andrews Circle of Kings Daughters, a member of the Quaco Historical & Library Society, the Seaview Community Club, the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #14, the Westfield Golf and Country Club and the Union Club. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family being survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of very good friends. Her brothers Charles L., J. Roy, and William A. Wallace and her sisters Edna M. Wallace, Lillian H. Moore, Marjorie Loughery and Grace E. Stairs predeceased her. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at 1:00 PM, from Brenan's Chapel. Following cremation interment will take place at the Black River United Church Cemetery. WARD, PERLEY GEORGE The death of Perley George Ward, of Ludlow NB, husband of Doris (Pond) Ward, occurred on Saturday October 2, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Henry and Dainie (Mountain) Ward. Mr. Ward worked for Diamond Construction, McKay's Building Supplies, attended the Ludlow United Baptist Church, was a member of Landmark Lodge #51, Shriners, Scottish Rite, Royal Order of Scotland and Hillcrest Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by two sisters Christina MacRae (Roy) of Blackville and Diane Brennan (Ed) of Blissfield; one brother Richard Ward (Sabra) of New Maryland; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Darrell and Allison; two sisters Thelma Christie and Joyce Parker. Visitation will be at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Tuesday October 5,2004 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held from the Ludlow United Baptist Church on Wednesday October 6., 2004 at 2pm with Rev. Harold Price officiating and Rev. David Egers assisting. Tamara "Martha" Yurkiwski May 12, 1923 - September 30, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Glen Eden Funeral Home (Winnipeg) In memory of a loving wife, mother, grandmother who passed away tragically. Left to mourn her passing are her husband William of 57 years; her daughters, Anne Marie Bell and Vicky Evans (Terry Ryder); and her granddaughters, Tamara and Larissa Evans; her sole surviving sister Rita Pauls (Henry); her many nieces and nephews and many friends. Tamara was predeceased by her loving son Tony in 1997; and her sisters, Anne Woelke, Helen Eck and Maria Wiebe; and her four brothers. Tamara was born in Ukraine on May 12, 1923 - the seventh child of nine children. In 1950, Tamara moved to Old Kildonan where she lived until her death. Tamara and William started and successfully ran a family business - McPhillips Construction Ltd. for over 30 years. Our mother loved to cook and bake - there was always a place at her table and in her heart for all who came. In the summer, her favourite times were spent in the garden and yard. A stroke in 2001 slowed her down temporarily and her "feisty" nature had her back in the garden within a month. A life filled with numerous hardships didn't diminish her indomitable spirit and she will be remembered as - always active, always caring, always giving. Our thanks to the attending police and Health Sciences Centre emergency staff. I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done, I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days, I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before too long, And cherish those very special memories to which I belong. Olimpia Galgo - It is with sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved Olimpia Galgo. She passed away at St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 83. CURRY, Robert J. (Bud) Courageously and with dignity with his family at his side on Sunday, October 3, 2004. Robert Bud Curry at the age of 84. Beloved wife of 64 years to Theresa (nee Gregoire). Cherished father of Bert, Bill, Heather (Jim MacLeod) and Maureen (Jim Allen). Special uncle to Rosemary Klinger. ENGLISH, Patrick James: C.W.O. (Ret) RCAF, Suddenly after a brief illness at the St. Catharines General Hospital early Saturday, October 2, 2004 with his loving family by his side, in his 86th year. Loving husband and best friend of Agnes for 61 yea rs. Dear father of Gordon (Gail) of Fonthill and Cathy (Richard) Whitmore of Queensville. Proud grandfather of Michael, Amy and David English. Born July 11, 1919 at Indian Head, Saskatchewan, raised on a prairie farm during the tough time of the 20's and 30's, Pat has a 33-year career with the Royal Canadian Air Force, retiring in 1974 and later relocating to St. Catharines to be near some of his family. He was an avid HAM radio operator, leather worker, all round handyman and also enjoyed many years at his cottage on Eagle Lake near Kingston. Pat was a long time member of the Air Force Association of Canada, the FSNA and the Air Force Telecom Association. Some of his other interests included bowling and square dancing. Pat will be forever remembered and sadly missed by all those whose lives he touched. He will be resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Tuesday morning at 10:30. EDWARDS, Donald James (Sept. 30, 1929 - Oct. 2, 2004) After a long and courageous battle with cancer, while celebrating his 75th birthday to the skirl of the bagpipes. Don served in the Canadian Navy on board the aircraft carriers Bonneventure and Magnificent. He also served Montague Township as counsellor for years and as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department and Rate Payers Association. He is survived by the love of his life Joyce DeCoste, his daughter Lesa, son John Guy and daughter-in-law Tammy. Mary C. Williston 1911 - 2004 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mrs. Mary Christina Williston, widow of the late William S. Williston, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home and formerly of the North Black River Road, passed away at her residence on Friday, October 1, 2004, at the age of 93. Born in Black River Bridge, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Lottie (Dickson) Godfrey. She was a homemaker and was an adherent of St. Stephens United Church, Black River Bridge. She was a teacher by profession, having taught in schools throughout the province for 43 years. She is survived by two daughters, Lydia MacRae (Fraser) of Black River Bridge and Louise Cunningham of Miramichi; six grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William in 1969; two sisters, Elspeth Conroy and Janet Holland; and one brother, Austin Godfrey. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visiting will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, Miramichi, NB, on Sunday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Stephens United Church, Black River Bridge, NB, on Monday, October 4, 2004, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland. MacDONALD, DOUGLAS CHARLES - The death of Douglas C. MacDonald, 80, of Moss Glen, husband of Madeline MacDonald occurred October 1, 2004 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John. He was born at Saint John, son of the late Douglas and Jane Mary-Grant MacDonald. He was a veteran of WWII serving overseas with the General Hospital Service Corps. Douglas was Past President of Peninsula Branch 62, Royal Canadian Legion and Past District Zone Commander. He was employed at the Sugar Refinery for 32 years and the Corps of Commissionaires for five years before retirement. He is survived by his wife Madeline; one daughter Patricia Ward (Peter) of Edmonton; five sons Doug MacDonald (Lynda) of Summerville, Russell MacDonald (Nancy) of Quispamsis, David MacDonald (Fran) of Saint John, Billy MacDonald (Kym) of Saint John, Tony MacDonald of Moss Glen; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Cécile Martin À l’Hôpital Général de Grand-Sault, le lundi 4 octobre 2004, à l’âge de 66 ans, est décédée Mlle Cécile Martin, domiciliée à Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska, mais autrefois de Saint-Léonard. Née à Saint-Léonard en 1938, elle était fille de feu Ernest Martin et de feu Albina Therrien. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses frères et soeurs ainsi que nombreux neveux et nièces. Ses funérailles ont eu lieu le jeudi 7 octobre à 16h en l’église de Saint-Léonard, et l’inhumation au cimetière paroissial. MILLS, WILLIAM A. - The death of William A. Mills, husband of Cecil Ann (Northrup) Mills, occurred on October 1, 2004, at his residence. Born in Saint John he was the son of Laura (Crilley) and the late Lloyd A. Mills. He was employed for 30 years as a meat cutter with Sobeys. He enjoyed woodworking and his time spent outdoors gardening and fishing. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by his son Jason and his daughter Natasha, both of Saint John, his sister Elizabeth (Betty) Brown of St. Andrews, his grandson Morgan William Tesink-Mills and several cousins, nieces and nephews. His daughter Stephanie and his brother Robert (Bob) predeceased him. At the family's request there will not be visitation at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424). Following cremation there will be a private service with interment taking place at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
