John Lage September 29, 1925 - September 26, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Glen Eden Funeral Home (Winnipeg) John (Hans) Lage passed away suddenly and peacefully in his sleep on September 26, 2004 at his home, having lived a full life. John was born on September 29, 1925 in Einlage, Ukraine. He married Elfriede Sunderman in Germany on March 18, 1949. They had one son, Dietmar, in 1950. Upon immigrating to Canada in 1957, they settled in Winnipeg. John was a partner in Lage Brothers Pianos until his retirement at the age of 62. John is predeceased by his parents Johann and Magaretha and by Elfriede. He will be greatly missed by his loving companion Elizabeth Jenkins and her family, his son Dietmar and partner Elizabeth, his grandson Christiaan Marshall-Lage and members of the Lage family, including his aunt Luise (Lisa) and her family, his brothers and sisters-in-law Heinz and Beate, Leonhard (Hardy) and Hilda, and Rudy and Louise, together with his nieces and nephews Charles, Margie, Heidi, Edward, Leonard and Irene. The funeral will take place Thursday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul with Reverend Abe Rempel officiating. Born in Shediac on June 10, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Philippe LeBlanc and Aurelie Boudreau. She was a retired housewife and was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac. Survived by one son, Jean-Paul Cormier (Carol) Sarnia, ON; one sister, Alma Wilson (Robert), Shediac; one brother, Gerard LeBlanc (late Emma), Gasbay, NS; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Jean Cormier; one brother, Augustin; one sister, Geneva. As requested by the family there will be no visitation at the funeral home. He was known as being a talented piano player. Colin was employed in # 12 Colliery as a coal hauler and then # 16 until it’s closure. He then worked in # 18 Colliery and was given early retirement as an injured miner. Surviving are his wife Christina “ Tiny” MacDonald, New Waterford; sons, Francis( Debbie) MacDonald, Calgary, Alta., John Malcolm ( Lorraine ) MacDonald, Llyodminster, Alta; stepchildren, Lorne MacDonald, New Waterford, Sandra ( Paul) MacDonald, Roberta ( Billy) White, both of Calgary; brother, Jerome MacDonald, New Waterford; sisters, Annie MacDonald, Cassie ( Dennis) Pilon, Catherine Nemis, Cecilia ( Sonny ) Gottwald, all of New Waterford, Alma ( Eugene) Ramey, Marina, both of Ontario; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was born in Sussex, NB on November 15, 1964, Ivy was the daughter of Zona (Norrad) and the late Lloyd Edmund Smith who passed away in 1991. Ivy is survived by her mother, two sisters, Darlene Doyle and Lisa Smith both of Picadilly, her brother, Jeff and his wife Dawn of Berwick, her niece, Alex Doyle, three nephews, Barrett Doyle, Connor and Drew Smith, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Irma was formerly employed at the Bank of Nova Scotia and the St. Andrews Biological Station. She was a member of the Greenock Presbyterian Church and was actively involved with the church guild. She will be remembered for her bubbly personality, dignity and her eagerness to lend a helping hand. KURTZ, Sheila Melanie (nee Weisinger) God's finger touched her and she slept. Stephen and Goldie Kurtz and fiance Benjamin Fisher sadly note the death of their beloved wife and mother, Sheila Melanie on September 26, 2004. She was the best wife and mother and teacher. Sheila was the cherished daughter of Arthur (A'H) and Sylvia Weisinger of Toronto and a devoted sister to David (Relly) and Jack (Gail). She was the much loved daughter-in-law of Abe Kurtz and sister-in-law of Bev Magennis. For thirty years Sheila taught art and photography at Belle River District High School. She earned the great respect of her colleagues through her constant professionalism and good nature. Hundreds of students will remember her as a teacher who loved and inspired them to create. Family, friends, and neighbours will miss a truly wonderful, intelligent and beautiful person. McGALE, Martin - After 35 years working in the diamond drilling industry around the world and 24 years of retirement around 'the Bay', Martin McGale passed away peacefully on Sunday September 26, 2004. Martin leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Rose Angelina (Toner). LAWSON, Donald After a lengthy battle with cancer, we sadly announce Don passed away September 23rd, 2004 at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital in his 81st year. MCDONELL, Marilon Eleanor After a hard fought battle with cancer, Marilon passed peacefully into God's Kingdom, September 24, 2004 at Kingston General Hospital with her family by her side. BOYES, MARIE AIDA Left us peacefully, surrounded by her devoted family on Tuesday September 21st, 2004 in her 84th year at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. Marie was the loving wife of the late Capt. W.C. (Bill) Boyes (Air Canada). Dear mother of Arline Thompson (Ken), Billie McLean (Brian) and Edward Boyes (Gisela). Marie was also the wonderful grandmother of 9 and great-grandmother of 16. Survived by her sister Helen Mitchell of Ottawa. Born in Neepawa, Manitoba, Marie would meet Bill and live in numerous places within Canada eventually settling in Streetsville, Ontario and raising their three children. In retirement, Bill and Marie built and lived in their dream home on Lake Scugog. After Bill's passing, Marie moved to Barrie enjoying her family and many new friends. A private family celebration of Marie's life will be held.
