À la Résidence René Lavoie de Disraeli, le 31 juillet 2004, est décédée à l'âge de 85 ans, Mme JEANNE BELLAVANCE ROUSSEAU, épouse de feu Adolphe Rousseau, native de Nantes, demeurant à Disraeli. Afin de respecter les dernières volontés de Mme Bellavance, il n'y aura pas d'exposition. La famille sera présente à compter de 10 h le samedi 21 août afin de recevoir les condoléances. Les funérailles auront lieu le samedi 21 août 2004 à 11 h en l'église Saint-Janvier de Weedon. Les cendres seront déposées au cimetière des Jardins du Souvenir le 22 août à 11 h 30. La défunte laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Lisette (Lisa, André Binette), Jacques (Noëlla Goudreau), Jocelyn (Ghyslaine Bourque), Gilles (Joyce Zaleda), Céline (Claude Jean), François (Colette Viens), Jean-Yves (Marjolaine Lemelin), Johanne (Serge Ouellette), Michel (Hélène Guindon). Elle était également la mère de feue Josée (Denis Gosselin). Elle laisse également ses 15 petits-enfants et 7 arrière-petits-enfants, ses beaux-frères et belles-soeurs ainsi que plusieurs autres parents et amis. Une femme merveilleuse, aimée de tous, qui a consacré sa vie au bonheur des siens et au bien-être de sa famille. Elle nous a quittés pour aller rejoindre Adolphe, Josée et Olivier. La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la Coopérative funéraire de l'Estrie.

Janet Elizabeth Hone October 11, 1948 - August 05, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home Jan died peacefully at home in Regina on Thursday, August 5, 2004 at the age of 55. She died as she wished, pain free and at home with her family around her. In her last months she shared her insights into life and relationships with all those who helped care for her. We have all been blessed by her friendship, honesty, courage, intelligence and quirky sense of humour. Jan was an active and passionate devotee of living life in the first person. If she believed in a cause, she put her heart, hands and voice to work for it, and inspired others to do the same. She sat on committees, organized demonstrations and phoned city councillors: she took responsibility and she got things done. Her long and joyful career at Regina Public Library saw her share of talents with almost every unit in the library at one time or another, including Central Children's and the Central Reference Desk, but she always seemed to be drawn back to the cheerful pandemonium and strong community roots of the branch libraries. A deep love and respect for the creative process ran strong in Jan's blood. She painted, drew, made pottery and puppets, created paper maché masks and watercolours. Her family and friends treasure the personal items she has left them. She also collected whimsical earring-sculptures (which she took pleasure in finding new homes for on the ears of her friends in the weeks before her death). Jan loved the outdoors. With her family and friends she cycled, canoed, kayaked, sailed, cross-country skied, walked, hiked and went camping. She loved to travel (Europe with her parents and brother and later with her future husband, Portugal with her husband and children, the Gulf Islands with her brother, Sedona with Rosemary and Adrian, and the Churchill River with Bill and Dale, to name but a few). However, in the last months of her life she found incalculable joy in the simple pleasure of sitting in her back yard, enjoying the space that the family created together. As well, she took long rolls in her wheelchair throughout the Cathedral area enjoying the garden flowers. Jan is survived by her husband Jim Hall, children: Will Hall and Brenna (Ryan) Ackerman; and her darling grandson, Ethan, her parents Beth and Mac, and her brother Dave (Carol Baert). Jan and Jim celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on July 14. Her family would like to thank all the many caregivers and friends who supported Jan and her family over the past year with their loving care, prayers, thoughts, cards, letters, emails and gifts of baking and meals, including the RPL “casserole brigade” and the Unitarian Fellowship. They would also like to thank the Home Health Aides and nurses and physicians of the Palliative Care Unit of the Regina Health District, the nurses and physicians of the Regina General Hospital and the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, and her family physician Dr. Sharron Thackeray. Cremation will take place prior to the MEMORIAL SERVICE that will take place at Regina Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Interment will be at a later date in the fall. GLADYS MAUDE BIRSTON Gladys Maude Birston (nee Westover), 100, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged in Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances. Gladys was born Feb. 13, 1904 in Barwick, Ont. to the late William and Helen Westover. She was raised in Barwick and then moved to Saskatchewan. She spent most of her working life at Island Falls, where she worked for Churchill River Power. She retired to Flin Flon, Man. in 1969. She later moved back to the district and settled in Stratton, Ont., where she lived until moving to Rainycrest in 1997. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Arles Peacock of Winnipeg, Man.; two granddaughters, Marianne (Robert) Hougaard of Surrey, B.C., and Laurel Dawn (Vic) Fulwiler of Nanaimo, B.C.; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Sydney Clifford Birston in 1947; parents, William and Helen Westover; four brothers, Don, Milt, Roy, and Harold Westover; and two sisters, Flo Patterson and Reta Gibson. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Pastor Tony Geense officiating. The honourary pallbearers will be her nephews, Fred Westover, Milt Westover, Bill Westover, Jack Westover, Glenn Westover, Ross Westover, Chuck Westover, Russell Westover, Murry Gibson, Brian Gibson, and Gary Gibson. He was born to Honesto and Patrocinia Dela Cruz in Sta. Cruz Guiguinto, Bulacan on July 11, 1943. He attended school at Marcelo H. Del Pilar, and then began his career work, as a machinist. He was the supervisor at Rami Text Industrial and also worked overseas in Saudi Arabia. He was married to Virginia Villanueva since 1961 and they have shared a loving 43 years together. He was predeceased by two young sons. He is survived by his wife Virginia and eight children: Josephine (Roberto, sons: RJ, JR Solis); Myrna (Cirilo:son Emmanuel Paraiso); Crisanto (Luiningning: sons’ Christobal, Christian, Carlo); Imelda (Aurthur Chin); Rosario (Edwin, kids Pol, Aslly, Patrick); Aristeo, Ana, Ailyn; as well as numerous relatives and friends in the Philippines. Beloved husband and best friend of Lollie for 48 years. Cherished and loving father of Karen (David Chick), Laurie (Bruce DiLabio) and John. Adored grandfather of Benjamin, Allison, Matthew and Andrea Chick; and Julie-Anne and Benjamin DiLabio. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends that meant a great deal to her. Elsie was born in Pointe du Bois, MB on October 6th, 1927. She attended grade 12 in Teulon, MB. Graduated from teachers college and taught school in Milber Ridge. She attended business school, became a legal secretary and worked for the law firm of Mitchell Greene and Minuk, Montreal Trust, and then the Canadian Grain Commission until she retired in 1988. She was married in 1949 to Dave Knox and stuck with him in good times and bad until his death in 1986. She was married in 1988 to Alf Thomas of Alberta. They enjoyed traveling the US in the winters to ease her arthritis and even had a mobile home in Yuma, Arizona for a while. They moved to Lethbridge where she lived until her health forced her to return to Winnipeg in January 2003. She was able to spend 11 month in 2003 with her two grandchildren, the angels in her heart. In spite of her pain, she was able to enjoy planting flowers, picking chokecherries, making jelly and fishing. Mom loved to read; do both crossword and jigsaw puzzles and play crib. She had a passion for gardening and loved flowers, enjoyed travel and shopping. Most of all Mom loved us! She especially loved her two grandchildren. She has gone to heaven to be their guardian angel now and we will all miss her. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Pallbearers will be six of her loving nephews; Kenny Ketola, Rod Ketola, David Ketola, Garth Hodge, Kevin Knox and Todd Knox. Interment will follow on site and then a gathering of family and friends will take place in the reception centre. Glen Lawn is located on a city bus route. Albert "Bert" William Kilgour January 12, 1914 - July 31, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Sadly the family of Bert announces his sudden passing on July 31, 2004 at the age of 90 years.
