Annette (Pelletier) Francoeur « La mort, c’est le moment où Dieu cueille la fleur provenant de la graine qu’il a plantée. » (L’Abbé Pierre) Entourée de ses enfants, a l’âge de 91 ans et 7 mois, au CHUL, le 2 juillet 2004, est décédée dame Annette Francoeur (Pelletier). Elle était l’épouse de feu William Francoeur. Elle demeurait au Manoir St-Louis a Sillery, autrefois de la paroisse St-Jean-Baptiste à Québec et également de Sainte-Foy. Les parents et ami(e)s qui désirent lui rendre un dernier hommage pourront le faire à la Coopérative funéraire du Plateau 693, avenue Nérée-Tremblay, Sainte-Foy le mardi 6 juillet de 19h à 22h et le mercredi 7 juillet de 12h à 13h30. Le service religieux sera célébré le mercredi 7 juillet 2004 à 14h, en l’église Ste-Ursule, 3290, rue Armand-Hamelin, Sainte-Foy (coin boul. Neilson). Les cendres seront inhumées au cimetière de St-Roch-des-Aulnaies à une date ultérieure. D’abord journaliste et rédacteur en chef au journal Le Réveil de Jonquière, monsieur Girard fut, dès les tout débuts de sa carrière, fortement préoccupé du bien-être de ses concitoyens et du développement de sa ville d’origine, à titre, notamment, de président du Club des journalistes du Saguenay, de président fondateur de la Jeune Chambre de Commerce de Jonquière, de directeur de la Société St-Jean Baptiste et de fondateur du Collège de Jonquière. Il fut aussi l’auteur d’un livre consacré aux bâtisseurs de la région du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Artisans d’un beau Royaume (Édition Gidau, 1954). À l’âge de 29 ans, monsieur Girard était élu député indépendant à la Chambre des communes, où il siégea de 1953 à 1957. Par la suite secrétaire général de l’Union nationale, il fut aussi, notamment, chef de cabinet du premier ministre Daniel Johnson père, puis vice-président de la Société québécoise d’initiative pétrolière (SOQUIP). Il fut aussi président du salon International du livre du Québec. Garnet Clarence Beaver November 18, 1915 - July 03, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) BEAVER, Garnet Clarence - 88, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 3, 2004, in Dartmouth General Hospital, with his loving family at his side. Born November 18, 1915, in Murphy's Cove, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Beaver. Garnet was a lifelong member of Saint Alban's Anglican Church in Dartmouth and was also a decorated veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas throughout Europe. He worked at CFB Shearwater for 27 years, retiring in 1980. In his younger years, he was an avid golfer and member of Hartlen Point Golf Course. As well, he enjoyed fishing, sports, and was a great lover of music and played drums in several bands. Garnet was a loyal and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, the former Ormi Edith Cribby; daughter, Sherry Anne Beaver; grandson, Trevor Dane Beaver; sister, Annabelle Crichton; brother, Carson Beaver, all of Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Carl and Chester. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Jennifer "Jen" Peruzzo (née Post) September 02, 1973 - June 28, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Duncan) She lived her life not by watching it go by but by creating it as she went along. Courageous and spirited, there was nothing she was afraid to try – the harder the challenge, the more determined she became. From skiing like a pro, batting like a superstar, being a powerhouse on the football field and excelling at her new found career, Jen followed her heart, enjoyed her adventures and loved all of the people she met along the way. Jen was a part of every gathering, welcoming people into her life. To her many friends she was and will continue to be, the life at every party, the one to take part in every occasion, the person who accepted us all with open arms and the one we love and will miss more than any words that can be written down. Rameses Mansour came to Canada from Egypt in 1963 and was known to many in the Ottawa community through his work with Phillips Electronics up until his retirement in 1982. His interest in the world around him, his intellect and his warm and open approach to people he met endeared him to many who would otherwise have remained strangers but became friends. At his request, his interment will take place with only his family in attendance. LeBLANC, Philomene Cecile - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Philomene LeBlanc. She passed away July 3, 2004, in Villa St. Joseph DuLac, at the age of 97. Born in Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late Anselm and Lousie (Surette) Pothier. She was a homemaker and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was involved with a number of activities with St. Michael's Church for many years. She is survived by sons, Alfred (Gladys) and Patric (Marilyn), both of Wedgeport; daughter, Anne (Kim) Stone, New Glasgow; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. EMERY, Dennis 65 years, passed away at home surrounded by his family, on July 4, 2004. Beloved husband of Carol (Dupuis). Dear father of Denise Desmarais and husband Mike, Darlene Sawchuck and husband Duke, and Darren and fiancee Gabriella Tessari. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Holly, Lexi, Mitchell, and Zoe. Beloved husband of Gert (Mahzenekezhik) Nootchtai of Whitefish. Loving father of Terry (wife Jennifer). Cherished grandfather of Whitney, Kelly Jo, Dawson and Christopher predeceased. Loving son of Edward predeceased and Margaret Nootchtai of Whitefish. Dear brother of Diane (husband Lee) and Brian (wife Kimberly). Special uncle of Phia, Shmaller, Briana, Bradly, Amanda and Corbin. Edward was dedicated to his community, serving 12 years on council, one as Chief. As a young man he danced at Pow Wows, he loved sports including softball, hockey, golfing, bowling and fishing. Edward was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed drawing. He loved his family and was especially a good Papa to his grandchildren. WHITTAKER, Rosemary Diane In loving memory of Rosemary Diane Whittaker. Our cherished angel went to heaven from her home July 1, 2004 at the age of 53. Born August 12, 1950. She was the best friend and soul mate of the late Larry Phillips, and a wonderful mother to Geoffrey Phillips, Wife Kimberley. Precious daughter of Vera Whittaker (predeceased) and Gordon Whittaker wife Sandy of Skead, Ontario. Treasured sister of Jennifer Coursol, husband Dan, John Whittaker, friend Laurette and Susan Priest (predeceased 2003). Much loved aunt to Sheri and Ryan McNabb, Lorianne and Danny Coursol. Survived by stepsister Donna Farstad, husband Barry and James Lindgren, partner Chantall and children Parker, Marshall and James Jr. Loved niece of Edna Larhan, Jean Haunts, Jean Barton and several cousins. Lifelong best friend of Cathy McLeod and Family, and devoted "mom" to her canine companion Sally and to her cats Buddy and Bitsy. Rosemary was like the rose, beautiful and unique. She gave much joy to all around, always quick to make people laugh. Her one and only sense of humour, at times daring, never ceased to amaze us all. She was very intelligent, articulate person, with a fabulous vocabulary and flair for writing. She was also very kind, sensitive, and had a special way of making people around her feel very special. She possessed a gifted affinity for animals and cared for them with much love and kindness. Her passion was sailing with Larry with whom many good times were always remembered. Music and reading gave her much solace. We love you. We miss you...so very very much, now and forever.
