Surviving in addition to his wife is one stepdaughter Jean-ann Bettle of Saint John, two brothers Rev. Frederick Whittey of Halifax, NS, Donald Whittey of Canterbury, NB; two sisters Jean Varrney (Herman) of Canterbury, NB, Beatrice Stratton (George) of Nackawic, NB. Resting at the A.W. Dr. John (Jock) Nicholson Rushforth, M.B., Ch. B.,M.C. March 11, 1919 - March 24, 2004 Dr. Jock Rushforth passed away peacefully, March 24th at the age of 85 years. Loving husband of Frances, and father of John, Sarah, Caroline and Peter, and proud grandfather of nine grandchildren. Jock was born in Simla, India. He completed his medical studies at St. Andrew's University, Scotland. From 1939 to 1946, he served with distrinction in the 45 Royal Marine Commando. Wounded in action in Normandy during the D-Day landing of 1944, he was awarded the Military Cross for bravery under fire. Jock was a devoted and caring general practitioner in Ottawa for over 45 years.
